y’all already know what time it is , popping in with my quarterly check-in.  just the general , thank you for remaining patient with me through the term and a reminder that the queue will assuredly run out soon but i won’t have the energy to do much for it until break starts a few weeks from now.  i’m always skulking about , however , willing to do things over discord or IMs.  anyways , the tea under the cut , for those interested !

well , as you might expect , we’re in rush-hour rn with the final few weeks slamming into everyone full-force.  not much is happening save for me continuing to excessively min-max my time to ensure i get the best grades possible ( please stop me , this is a problem ) . also two of my finals are a presentation and , as we all know , i might have done theatre but i cannot public speak ; pray for me.

i inevitably turned down the symposium despite the board members being like , “you should do it ! you have good research !” nah. you want my stupid ass to talk to the whole campus ? not gonna happen. sorry , maybe come talk to me when i’m , i dunno , another few years more self-assured.

the induction ceremony into the honor’s society is the 18th ! POG ! every time i talk about it , though , i inadvertently keep referring to it as an “inauguration” so now certain people i’ve mentioned it to refer to me as , “mr. president” as a running gag i shall never live down.  don’t you ever let my big-dick 4.0 and verbose mannerisms fool you , i can’t even speak my own language half the time LMAO.

it came to my attention recently that the remaining cornerstone classes for my degree are evening classes. and , just to save everyone a long and miserable story , the TLDR is i don’t drive for traumatic reasons ( and hailing an Uber several times a day back-and-forth is unsustainable when i pay part of my tuition already ) . so i had to sit down to counsel with my advisors and upcoming professors to sort out a game-plan. one of the professors , i shit you not , broke out the , “well , as a psychiatrist --” and she proceeded to grand-stand to me about her accolades , “-- have you considered therapy ?” like , no , what a novel idea-- obviously i have. i literally almost bailed right in that moment ; how fkn rude can you be ? what’s better is that i’ll be seeing her several times next term so … what a good introduction , huh ?

and just a remark about my moral theology course ( again ) . i do not see myself as a “know-it-all” … but i noticed over the term that i am one of the few who contributes consistently to the discussion at all. every time the professor asks a question , I MEAN OBVIOUSLY i have something to say ( like just recently he asked about dostoevsky , whom i was excited to discuss ) . and i swear to god , i cannot tell if this man is smiling when i talk because he’s amused or annoyed -- perhaps both.

Highlights from my Vampire Studies class today

So, I'm taking a class this semester which is a cultural history of vampires, in literature and film, and today was our first lecture for it. And OH BOY do I think I'm going to love this class.

The prof was awesome, and it looks like we are going to be covering some fun stuff this semester. Here are some of the highlights from today's lecture...

The prof playing Supermassive Black Hole while we were all getting seated (I'm not a Twilight fan but this was absolutely hilarious)

The prof played a video about using Wikipedia as a source, in which they made the joke "Your grades may be at stake", to which he paused it to add "A little vampire humour for you there" (This man is literally Viago if he was a German Studies professor)

We went over the course outline, and one of the two reading requirements is Dracula! (I'm ahead for once! Tumblr and Dracula Daily have prepared me for this) And, one of the films we will be watching is WWDITS :) I can not express how excited I am about this.

For today's movie we watched Nosferatu, which I have been meaning to watch for the longest time but never got around to. I actually really enjoyed it, and our class got some good laughs out of it.

During our lecture, our prof put together a slideshow about various vampire media (books, movies, etc from different years) and OH BOY there were some fun ones to talk about... for instance, one was a book called "What Would Buffy Do?", to which our prof recommended it to us if we ever have a moral quandary, and want to know what Buffy would do.

Another was some movie called "I bought a Vampire Motorcycle"

There was a small section about vampire influence on the... adult entertainment industry... to which the following interaction occurred:

Student - "I'm sorry... What is... Sperm-ula?"

Prof - *pauses for a minute* "What do you think?"

Showed us a book called "A Handbook for the Recently Turned", to which the prof said "Well... because you never know! Might need it!"

We then had a really interesting lecture on vampires throughout history, from ancient Greece and Rome through to the 18th century. Really cool stuff.

Prof made us talk to each other for an ungraded assignment because he wanted us to meet our "vampire buddies" 🥺

So yeah... I think I'm going to really like this class. Unfortunately, it sounds like quite a few of my classmates are only taking it because they were looking for an easy A elective, so hopefully they will learn to share the love of vampires by the end. I can't wait for our next lecture!

Something a little personal for the 40th anniversary of Gilles Villeneuve's death:

He was the first F1 driver I clearly remember learning about. I'm Canadian, I learned French at school, and in our French textbooks in grade 9, there was a section on famous French-Canadian sports heroes. Think of your classics, mostly hockey players—Rocket Richard, Guy Lafleur (rip)—and Gilles. I had to read his section out loud to the class. As I recall, the photo next to it was of him with his snowmobile in the 70s. I remember reading in that short paragraph that he'd died racing in F1. It was one of the first things I learned about him. It took a few more years before I really understood Formula One and what his achievements meant.

Fast forward those few years: I’m at work, and my boss isn't into motorsports (he's a hockey guy). But we chat about sports and he knows I'm a Formula 1 fan. Whenever I bring it up, he brings up Gilles, like he forgets every time that we've had this conversation before. F1 has never been a huge sport in Canada; Gilles brought attention to it here nationwide. Gilles is my boss’s only reference to F1, the only name he knows. He remembers when Gilles died in 1982—my boss was the age then that I am now, give or take a few years. (For context, my boss and I are from a place far away from Québec.) He remembers how people around him, not really motorsport fans either, grieved. 

Gilles Villeneuve raced at a circuit near me in his Formula Atlantic days. He was the first F1 driver whose face I remember seeing. He was the first F1 driver whose driving style made my heart pound like I was watching those races for real, not just in bad quality on youtube. He was not an angel and not a devil; he was a complicated person, as we all are. He was a Canadian hero. He was, and is, my favourite Formula One driver of all time.

[M4F] Rural Slice of Life Romance

Hi! My name is Finger and today I made a plot that I’d really like to roleplay, it’s quite basic although still good! It’s mostly just like slice of life type stuff in a rural type setting and everything. The pairing is MxF with me being the male. The main characters that we’ll be playing is Thomas Sawyer and Arabella Anderson; most of the backstory for Thomas is there, but Arabella’s, except for the appearance, is left blank for the other muse to fill in as they wish.

I’d really love to do this plot, I’m looking for something long term and someone semi-literate to literate, as that is what I am myself. I’m also 16, so I want someone in my general age range as well, that would be much preferred!! I writing around 3 paragraphs per post, although it can fluctuate depending on the scene. But anyways, here is the plot! I’m begging anyone, pleaseeee!!

June 16th, 2024

School’s out for the summer in Richmond, Virginia, which sixteen year old Thomas “Tommy” Sawyer would normally be happy about, although not this year, especially not this year. The main reason for that is because he had to pack up his belongings and leave his childhood home to move in with his mother’s family down in rural Ross County, Texas. He hadn’t ever seen his mother’s side of the family before, and if it was his choice he wouldn’t be going down there, but thanks to his Dad, Charles for going to prison, Tommy had to go. Tommy’s mother had passed years earlier in 2019 due to her many health problems. After her death, the family was broken; Charles became an alcoholic, Tommy had to take an entire semester off of school and almost failed 6th grade had it not been for the pandemic.

The way Tommy would get to Texas was by his uncle, Leroy, who had driven all the way from Ross County, Texas to Richmond, Virginia. It was a twenty hour drive just to Richmond, but Leroy hadn’t minded at all, arriving on the evening of the 16th, picking Tommy up and then heading straight back down to Texas. The first few hours were awkward; he hadn’t ever met his uncle until that day, but by the time they made their first stop for the night in Tennessee, they had already gotten to talking. Tommy had learned that Leroy was a cow farmer(if the Ford F-150 truck wasn’t already a sign) owning a good chunk of land in Ross County for his cattle to graze on. He also learned the names of Tommy’s four children and wife. The wife’s name was Sarah, the oldest child who was 19 years old was named Elizabeth, the third oldest was 16 years old and named John, the 2nd youngest was 13 and named Cindy, and the youngest was 10 and named Frank. “The Martin Family,” Leroy had referred to them multiple times, as his last name was Martin, so it was only fitting.

By the time the two reached Ross County, late into the night on the 17th, almost the 18th. The Martin’s lived far out, even from the only town in the county, called Ferris. There was no internet or cell service out at the Martin’s house, only a landline phone. Their house was surprisingly more modern than Tommy had expected, it was a two story home with four bedrooms and three bathrooms, and most things in the house surprisingly were modern, like the tv and washing machine and dryer and such. Elizabeth was off to college in Austin, so Tommy got her room, which had all of her stuff cleaned out and all that was in there now was a bed, a dresser, a nightstand and a tv. Tommy was a bit on edge the first night, the realization setting in that this is where he’d be from now on, at least for the near future. His phone was practically useless, having no way to contact his friends or anything from it.

The first few days were spent getting Tommy accustomed to everything, the morning after he arrived at the house he met everyone, who were all pretty kind, all of them but Frank knowing why Tommy moved down here. Each night, at seven o’clock on the dot, sometimes a little later, the family would have dinner at the family table, something the young man was definitely not accustomed to but didn’t mind at all. On Friday of that week, everyone would pile into Leroy’s truck and head into town, to go eat at the local restaurant, Bell’s. There, Tommy would meet a lot of the locals there; it wasn’t too many people but he definitely couldn’t remember everyone’s names. The day after, Tommy was first put to work, working with John and Leroy on the farm. It was hard work, and he wasn’t sure about it at first, but later on he’d eventually find enjoyment in working.

On Sunday June 23rd, almost a week after arriving in Ross County, the family would pile into the truck once again and head back into town to attend church. Afterwards, outside of the church, he’d meet a girl; Arabella Anderson, a girl his age with long, beautiful black hair and green eyes that seemed to mirror Tommy’s eyes, though not his dirty blonde hair. There, Arabella would make small talk with Tommy, where they would find out that their farms were relatively close to each other, leading to Arabella giving Tommy her number…

When battle was imminent, they dressed in male attire and fought and killed as men would. Eventually, Bonny and Read fell in love. A meretricious relationship developed. Crew mates referred to them as the "Pirate Queens." Calico was jealous. He threatened to "cut Mary's throat." Calico remained an unhappy camper. It is thought Calico's state of mind because of the ladies might have affected his judgment and was a factor in his being captured and hung. The weather outside continues to be frightful. Wowie! Cold!!! Temperature today will have a high of 62 and low of 55. On the low side at the moment. This cold rare. One of its tell tale signs is water from the faucet. Extremely cold. Most times, warm. Resurrecting The Teenage Valedictorian Spirit Within 18 Months andor Sooner Episode 1 Creative Fiction Genre

Greetings, I am a celestial career and money spirit guide with the current alias name of Golden Veil Sanctuary Hotel who has experience in helping a certain number of currently earth based men and women ages 18 to 118 fulfill living out at least partial andor all of their divine life purpose with the remaining time that they have left on earth. A great deal of them have talents andor gifts carried over from a multiple number of their past lives and some either consciously andor far from consciously channeled some of their gifts andor talents from past lives during their teenage years and I have been assigned to help a great deal of them revive andor reawaken some andor all parts of that spirit. For instance earth based men and women who have made class valedictorian in either the 8th grade andor 12th grade, earth based men and women who have self published books during their teenage readers and garnered a reading audience of at least 50 andor more people, any other achievement accomplished before the person reached their 18th birthday that the person’s celestial spirit guides feels that the spirit of that would generate beneficial resurrections/revivals metaphorically speaking. Some of the following ideas have been channeled through me to help revive andor enhance creativity for a person to refer to for later intuition, wisdom andor spiritual andor higher self soul development

Choose 3 online playlists from any website though ideally one website to create creative fiction genre mini stories based on and try to do this at least once a week with at least 3 characters minimum regardless if they choose to do so on a personal blog, a personal email andor somewhere online, for instance a person utilizing a 70 song music playlist could write a personal story of three characters who are going to concerts of three of the artists performing the songs the reason for this is because many earth based men and women are receiving vital spiritual and intuitive messages from their celestial spirit guides and higher self soul and some even their celestial spirit guides and it is easier to pick up on the messages by archiving and connecting certain songs in a fun fiction genre writing type of way, for instance just yesterday a person I am helping intuitively received an idea of where to go socially from an entree written for creative fiction fun approximately 4 months ago and they unexpectedly heard an idea from a person at the social event that has helped them joyfully and passionately shed 10 pounds within the past two weeks when it would sometimes normally take them 4 to 8 weeks to do so. this brings me to my next point

For earth based men and women still in the process of passionately shedding a certain amount of weight it is very important essential to strive to put into writing somewhere both offline andor online your eating and fitness plan for at least the week ahead even if you are far from certain how you are going to consistently afford all of the food moneywise andor consistently put in the time, for instance someone I have been recently helping was given a celestial message in collaboration with her celestial higher self spirit guides and intuition on what to eat that would safely help them still get to her target goal weight while still getting the nutrients that they need however they were far from certain how they were going to consistently come up with the money to afford that food as they were still in the process of leveling up career and money wise and some of the paperwork that they would benefit from helping them rejoin the military was still pending from certain sources. However they went ahead and wrote in their meal plan for the week when fortunately their long term partner received a money boost that was luckily more than enough to help them cover their food for the week. Another person did this and was offered a job that included a weekly food allowance

For certain money goals make sure that one tries to put in the time whenever feasible to try to implement 8 processes ideally a day though when time is extremely busy at least 8 techniques a week to joyfully transform one’s life. For instance a prior military person who was still in the process of leveling up their life utilized 8 techniques weekly from 8 books to help line up the actions and thoughts they were implemening at least 5 times a week to joyfully change their life, 11 months from the time they did this a great deal of their goals finally were starting to come true one goal I am authorized by both that person and their celestial spirit guides to share is that they finally manifested 13,000 in savings after taxes after 18 months of putting in both the 8 technique and intuitively guided action to level up their money with one of their most powerful techniques coming from meditation. Some of that money surprisingly came from a creative fiction story inspired by the permanent sterilization surgery that they voluntarily chose to have several multiple years ago.

I confess that I voluntarily had successful tubal ligation (permanent female sterilization surgery) performed on me at a California Planned Parenthood clinic around April 2004 and so abortion is one issue that I am going to have the privilege of being concern-free about during my current earth lifetime. However for other women and men indirectly andor directly impacted by what Anna Navarro is mentioning I do tragically believe that Anna Navarro’s words about abortion may eventually end up proving to be somewhat prophetic because it is common knowledge that many consenting age men and women on both sides of the political aisles are sometimes far from immune from the temptation of what can happen outside traditional romantic relationships andor marriages and removing the option for abortion for millions of women affected by this option could increase the numbers of children born to couples where one andor both parents may not be fully available because of one andor both parents already having previous obligations with previous andor existing family andor children dynamics.
