it’s so hard to find evolutionary astrologers 😖
Tumblr media
“[…] words that sunk into my soul ‘the thrust of modern astrological publishing is egocentric, and I suspect it will always remain that way.’ […] A lot of astrology legitimately is not in that spiritual category. […] We have many of the ‘conventional’ forms of astrology, which in practice, often boil down to two things; a delineation of your personality traits and a set of predictions for your future; “Here’s who you are, here’s what’s gonna happen to you.” That word delineation […] I used to really hate that word […] The image in my mind was; ‘Here’s your personality, we’re gonna put lines around it […] Don’t you step over those lines, or you’re going to violate my theory.’ That annoys me! […] Even more sophisticated forms of astrology often behold the ego uncritically, as if it reigns supreme, as if we are our egos, as if we are actually that simple. That belief is absolutely antithetical to spirituality. […] Astrology in some form is ancient. Our sense of a soul relationship with the heavens is as ancient as the first- was it a monkey or was it a human?- to look to the heavens and feel wonder. That’s really what it’s all about. […] I’m an evolutionary astrologer, and here’s a question we evolutionary astrologers always bring to the table, one of the distinguishing characteristics of evolutionary astrology, the question we attempt to answer is not ‘What does your chart mean?’ all astrologers will attempt to answer that. But we ask ‘Why do you have it?’ […] If you live that life indicated by your chart, you win the grand prize, you come to your last breath on this Earth with a smile on your face. […] Let’s have a moment of compassion for people who lie on their deathbeds realizing they watched television or made money and that was it, just compassion not judgment, it must be awful. Your path home is the sacred message woven into every birthchart, it’s about the life you were born to live, the one that shakes you loose from your unresolved karma and shows you the fastest route to the higher ground. Astrologers can talk about the personality in psychological terms, and we’re good at that and there’s nothing wrong with that, but let’s just avoid falling for the false myth of some kind of static personality. I want to help people evolve.” - Steven Forrest
Because “astrologers” have strayed from the ancient idea that the natal chart is a map to God alignment, astrology has become a shallow game of superficiality. Many will call themselves evolutionary when they’re actually traditional/mundane which has nothing to do with your Divine purpose or soul’s growth. Notice how evolutionary astrologers continuously talk about God and the soul’s purpose while traditional astrologers are fixated on careers, finance, and fortune telling? Yeah…. I recommend ignoring tiktockers, tumblr blogs, Instagramers, redditors, YouTubers, and whoever else for the time being until you develop your own astrological philosophy and discernment when it comes to other people’s ideas about the cosmos. Find a single evolutionary/intuitive astrologer that resonates with you (you’ll feel it in your heart once you’ve found them) and learn from them and them alone, otherwise you will become illusioned and overwhelmed. Mine is Steven Forrest (and Sarah Vrba) whenever I become confused or skeptical about something I refer back to his body of work. I got a natal chart reading from him several years ago and it changed my life. I went and bought all his books, which is how I started learning astrology on a deeper level. Unfortunately, he isn’t accepting clients anymore but he has trained several people in evolutionary astrology, their information is in the link. My go to is Hamida! She calls you on the phone and she has a really magical and motherly spirit about her. I’ve heard outstanding things about Sybil Star as well!<3
These are just my personal green/red flags
Green flags
They have their own website; it shows that they’re serious about their craft. It’s not an Etsy listing they can just delete when they don’t feel like doing readings anymore. They actually have to put time, money, and effort into building a website that is a reflection of who they are and the services they’re wanting to provide.
They have an “about me” with a photo
They have a page with their resume and credentials
They have legitimate reviews and testimonials on their website
They offer interactive readings, like video chat or phone calls where they don’t hide behind a pdf (these are the only ones I do personally because I like to ask questions as I’m receiving the information)
Most important: They offer a sample of the work that they’re capable of providing. This shows that they have confidence in themselves and their abilities. If they don’t provide access to a sample of their work on their website, call/email and ask for one. If they refuse, well!! That tells you everything you need to know.
Red flags
Reading is less than $80. Usually, it’s going to be a copy and paste scam. You get what you pay for.
PDFs, copy and paste scam like I mentioned
They’re selling readings through a second party website like Etsy or Tumblr.
They’re under 45. In my opinion, most of these people don’t have enough experience to be reading charts for other people. They should still be focusing on their own chart. Steven Forrest is 74 and has been studying evolutionary astrology since he was 20, and the women I mentioned have been studying longer than I’ve been alive as well.
They’re anonymous/no-face
Going to an astrologer for advanced readings is great, but I would also recommend studying and getting to know your chart on your own. It’s nice as a starting point or to gain some perspective, but at the end of the day nobody’s interpretation, feedback, or understanding is going to light up your heart and show you the way like your own. Good luck!<3

#MentalHealthAwarenessWeek 9th-15th May. This year’s theme is “Loneliness”. Day Seven. Please join Rachel Deering, Barbara Leonhard, Sue Finch, Dana Clark-Millar, Cy Forrest, Peter J. Donnelly, Sarah Reeson, Teresa Durran, Anjum Wasim Dar, Gillian Winn and I. I want to feature your published/unpublished poetry/short prose/artworks about loneliness. Please include a short third person bio. Here are seven types of loneliness as defined in an article in Psychology Today. If you have any unpublished/published poetry/short prose and/or artworks that relate to these I would love to feature them. New-situation loneliness. You’ve moved to a new city where you don’t know anyone, or you’ve started a new job, or you’ve started at a school full of unfamiliar faces. You’re lonely. B) I’m-different loneliness. You’re in a place that’s not unfamiliar, but you feel different from other people in an important way that makes you feel isolated. Maybe your faith is really important to you, and the people around you don’t share that — or vice versa. Maybe everyone loves doing outdoor activities, but you don’t — or vice versa. It feels hard to connect with others about the things you find important. Or maybe you’re just hit with the loneliness that hits all of us sometimes — the loneliness that’s part of the human condition. C) No-sweetheart loneliness. Even if you have lots of family and friends, you feel lonely because you don’t have the intimate attachment of a romantic partner. Or maybe you have a partner, but you don’t feel a deep connection to that person. D) No-animal loneliness. Many people have a deep need to connect with animals. If this describes you, you’re sustained by these relationships in a way that human relationships don’t replace. While I love my dog Barnaby, I don’t feel this myself — but many people feel like something important is missing if they don’t have a dog or cat (or less conveniently, a horse) in their lives. E) No-time-for-me loneliness. Sometimes you’re surrounded by people who seem friendly enough, but they don’t want to make the jump from friendly to friends. Maybe they’re too busy with their own lives, or they have lots of friends already, so while you’d like a deeper connection, they don’t seem interested. Or maybe your existing friends have entered a new phase that means they no longer have time for the things you all used to do — everyone has started working very long hours, or has started a family, so that your social scene has changed. F) Untrustworthy-friends loneliness. Sometimes, you get in a situation where you begin to doubt whether your friends are truly well-intentioned, kind, and helpful. You’re “friends” with people but don’t quite trust them. An important element of friendship is the ability to confide and trust, so if that’s missing, you may feel lonely, even if you have fun with your friends. G) Quiet-presence loneliness. Sometimes, you may feel lonely because you miss having someone else’s quiet presence. You may have an active social circle at work, or have plenty of friends and family, but you miss having someone to hang out with at home — whether that would mean living with a roommate, a family member, or a sweetheart. Just someone who’s fixing a cup of coffee in the next room, or reading on the sofa.

Day Seven Ghost in an Empty Chair Sometimes it is just a flap of wings in a lonely meadow,or a child’s shoes and socks left by a pond Sometimes it is the intensity of darknessor the emptiness in the kitchen at harvest Maybe the laughter ascending from the street belowor the ‘stepford wives’ promenading past with their pugs; the elation of cheering crowds at a football match, the vicar’s wife…

Will and the car on fire (theories)
*this is just under the assumption this is Will in the pic and not some other character. Which is still very possible .
Why it could be Will (it's for sure possibly not)
But, most of the rebuttals saying it's not Will are iffy. Cause we really don't have much evidence to point to any 1 character. Like the hair counterargument: that the hair is too long to be Will's .Will's s4 body double has a similar hair tuff on the back of his neck. And we know st uses camera shots of the back of Will's neck/silouette ,in past seasons . So doing so here could make sense. And Will of course is the most associated with fire: using fireball for Will the wise in s1 (3 times), the will the wise drawing from s2 had flames on his cloak, Will being being burned in s2,etc.
So...Will looking at lightning. And (Will?) looking at fire. Both have a dark full body sillhouete and red in the forefront .
Tumblr media
We also see this character is possibly wearing a watch like Will?
Tumblr media
And i've been hearing this a lot here ... but southern california (where the Byers are) does have a lot of trees lol. Not sure why people think otherwise. But, regardless a trip from cali to Hawkins would most certainly have some forrest.
*Also, any movies I’ll be mentioning (in the theories , below) were stated to be inspiration for ST.
So theories...
Theory 1) It's Joyce's car ( and it was rigged  to explode/look like an accident by Brenner or Lonnie). And Will wasn't there but sees it in a nightmare cause it's already happened/or it's a dream vision of the future.
Evidence:  CAR TROUBLES: Joyce’s car model was infamous for exploding in car accidents-being sued by the state of Indianna before the start of the series. We also have Alexi tell murray about a way to cause cars to explode-and turn people into dust (and make it look like an accident). Brenner’s name means “to burn” and he already hurt 1 mother to keep a subject -so not out of the realm of possibilities for him to hurt Joyce (and make it look like an accident to try and get Will and or el).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In s3, we have Jonathan and Hopper try and fix  the car-and after this cars explode with people inside. Jonathan lifts the car hood- and notices someone rigged nancy’s car . Than,  right after,Billy’s car lights on fire with him inside. With Hopper (he also lifts the car hood) and joyce barely escapes the lit car (but she may not be so lucky next time).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We also have Joyce tell Will 3x she’s going to be ok... which is a bit overkill if she will be OK ...
And, notice during the hoodlift we see Will observing- which is similar to Alexi watching and warning them before hand that the car (with Joyce inside) will explode. So it’s possible foreshadowing since Will may predict the future and was was paralleled to Alexi.Alexi ‘can we watch lonnie toons now?. Will : can we play d&d now?
Tumblr media
movie inspos:
It’s hinted s4 will be around Will’s b day: In gilbert grape- Arnie after his b day, has his mom die, and a fire was stagged that lit his mom on fire. ( Before this,Arnie was also raised by his older brother Gilbert cause his dad wasn’t around). stoker-  kid’s parent dies in staged car ‘accident’ on her bday (this allows ab*sive relative closer to kid-since dead parent banned him from seeing kid). The kid  was taught how to hunt, by dad. And is also a painter and bullied at school (like Will). what dreams may come-painter blames themselves for fam dying in freak car accident- the relative was getting a present for them when it happened. so they blame themselves. The descent- also had (right before a b day, the main character’s fam dying in a car accident) .And the sole survivor/family member of the deceased hallucinates a shadow chasing her in a empty hospital hall. Get out-photographer (jonathan)blames himself for mother dying in car accident.
There’s also a lot of other films where the kid (for no logical reason) blames themselves for their mom’s/parent’s death: goodson, dream catcher, analyse this, etc. Of course ... this could simply relate to max and el having survivors guilt after the mall killed their family members (in a fake ‘mall fire’). However, a fake out fire causing  family to die (in s3)  could be foreshadowing for it actually happening in s4?
rigged car explosions: scarface -have guys try and bomb a car with kids and parent inside. backdraft -guy raised by older brother had 1 parent die in explosion and sees the freak explosion occur- later in the film someone rigs a car to explode and masks it as a  freak car accident. Same thing occurs in godfather- he sees family member die in rigged car explosion. The dark knight- rigs car to explode. batman v superman- calls superman a demon and says they need to burn the witch that bore him (aka his mom).
dreams (if in the past): Never ending story (reffed in s3)- starts with kid with bowl cut saying he had another dream about his mother who died. Peanut butter solution- kid has visions in dreams about people he knew who died in fire.  this next movie (emily rose) is  said to be Joyce byers inspo according to Winona - has (kid with 2 personalities) have nightmares from the past  of her and her mother burning in a car fire. while screaming/sleep walking she burns windows with her hands -accidentally using her powers. Some people suspect the videogame “life is strange’ is show inspo too- it has character named max caufield with a ‘never maxine rule’, etc. Anyways in the game prequel queer chloe, who plays d&d, would have dreams/nightmares of her nice parent’s car accident . Despite , chloe not being present for the car accident. After the parent’s death,  she’s stuck with her mean step dad.
dreams (if predicting the future): Will says in s3 Will the wise can see into the future. We also see Will/Will the wise via a dream predict Hopper was in danger-saying  to Joyce “he’s going to die”.  In ‘12 monkeys’ and ‘Rebel Robin st novel’ they mention the myth of cassandra- who could make accurate future prophecies , but was cursed to never be believed by those she warned. In 12 monkeys- he tries warning others of a dreaded event in future- and it’s dismissed as  him being mentally ill. Since, Will’s other abilities were dismissed as his ptsd in s2-and with the Byers fam having a family history of mental illness (they may not believe him over such a prediction). In ‘the ring’-the  movie opens with the guardian saying the boy is drawing the car accident that killed his mom -as a psychological coping mechanism. Only for the teacher to say he made that drawing before his mother’s death (and it’s revealed later the boy is psychic). Terminator 2- sarah conner says she is having future visions, which include explosions, and everyone dismisses it as her being schizophrenic. Like how in s2 a scientist said about Will “let’s see if this boy is a wizard or a schizo”.
If joyce survives the accident she may be hospitlized (and unable to have legal custody). In black swan the girl (with 2 personas) -blames herself for what happened to Winona Ryder’s character (who is in a coma after a car accident. They had had a verbal fight before the accident). In girl with the dragon tattoo- the main character (who is compared to a phoenix and dragon) has 1 parent burned in a fire- and after this her kind guardian is hospitilized so they can no longer take care of her- and she is placed with an ab*sive foster dad (who resembles her bio dad). If Joyce was in a coma - it would further parallel her to terry- and be another willel parallel.
if dead: Tokyodrift- mom loses custody, and dad who is a mechanic and abandoned the family years ago, later gets custody. Super 8-mom dies in freak accident- douche dad gets custody. Book of henry-mom dies pre-film, ab*sive dad got custody. Outsiders- parents die in car wreck, relative gets custody of teen who he slaps etc.In black swan-girl who blames herself for Winona’s accident is stuck living with ab*sive parent. good son- mom dies, stuck with violent and manipulative relative after this.
Of course-joyce may be fine. And Lonnie may just visit for Will’s b-day and ruin shit that way.
Theory 2) It's an undercover government car that Will uses his powers against in self defense... or in anger after they hurt someone he loves.
Evidence:
Joyce about ‘Will the wise’: If he’s so wise, why does he need the fireballs? Why can’t he just outsmart the bad guys? Will: cause the bad guys are smart too. Joyce: so he needs the fireballs? Will: Yeah, to burn them to a crisp.
Tumblr media
* the fact-this flashback happens at a funeral of a Byers, could also be narratively significant as foreshadowing.
Gov agents in s1 are  called “the bad-men” so Will may use fireball on “the bad-guys”(government agents) . Fire has been used on all the other adversaries relating to the upsidedown-so why not the gov agents (aka human villains) next? 2 movies on the inspo list caught my attention: firestarter & carrie (which are both stephen king adaptions with psychic kids who have fire abilities).
Firestarter- she has pyrokineseis (firepowers) . And unlike every other psychic in the film- she is the only psychic that doesn't get nose bleeds (aka mini brain hemorages) from using her powers (Will). We know el and kali gets nose bleeds.
(Anger): She only unleashes her fire abilities on gov agents after they kill her parent...
Tumblr media
*And uses a literal “fireball” on them.
Could also be another willel parallel. kali about the US gov:" They took your mother away from you!" El str*ngles man from gov agency that incapacitated her mom . El before str*ngling him: " you hurt mama".
(self defense): While  in carrie  she kills people who tried to run her over with a car. And causes the car to explode.
Tumblr media
Also, in s3 Steve does technically cause a car to explode to protect Nancy from being run over by a car (so maybe foreshadowing?). I believe, tumblr user ‘bran-who-writes-theoretically” was the first to point out the Carrie/car on fire parallel.
* This car scene could also be added to the list of Willel parallels. El  in s1 uses her powers to flip a government-car upside down. And looks back at it. And it’s a ref to the film Et. So Will causing a government -car to explode and flip upsidedown (referencing carrie) could be a parallel.
Tumblr media
Of course El flipped over a car in s3 to attack the Soviet agents and protect her friends too ( right before losing her powers). Sort of like Steve using his car as a weapon in s3 to protect his friends. so who knows, if not Will, maybe El (wearing a ponytail) got her telekenesis back and she flips the car and it explodes ? To be honest, I just find this explanation too boring, cliche, and predictable. And I still hypothosize the mindflayer took her telekensis (but not her other powers). Since in d&d mindflayers have ‘mage hand’ (what el is called) and ‘telekenesis’/ along with the ability to steal powers from other life forms. But, we’ll see...
Theory 3) The car flips (maybe caused by a deer jumping in the road) and it blows up after the crash- with Joyce inside. And maybe Jonathan survives it/ Will wasn’t there but had a nightmare /vision about it?
Evidence: in s1 Jonathan sees a dead deer that was hit by a car. This could be symbolic : because it related to Jonathan mentioning the hunting story with his dad and how he cried for a week cause he liked the film Bambi. Which in the film : Bambi (a deer) has his mother k*lled. And after his mother’s death, he’s taken in by his douchey dad who was M.I.A for most of his life ,until his mom passed away. And the hunters are the bad guys in the film . In ‘get out’ the photographer , Chris, blames himself for his mother dying in a car accident - and he sees a dead deer hit by a car -and the dying deer was used to symbolize the guilt he has over his mother’s  death. in ‘the long kiss goodnight’ a character is driving home with a friend- they swerve and hit a deer and 1 of them is ejected from the car into the forrest. But their friend is unconscious in the car and it quickly explodes on the road. The survivor turns and sees the car in flames- disoriented they stumble and kill the dying deer. And it’s left ambiguous if they were helping the deer end it’s pain or if it was vengeful-hunting (since it caused the car accident that killed their friend). Cause their face was emotionless from shock.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even in the st novel "suspicious minds' rabbits- like jonathan was forced to kill on the hunting trip with his dad (around his b-day) represented the bond between mother and child. And the mother sacrificing herself for the baby-to not get k*lled (by Brenner).
Tumblr media
-so maybe?? jonathan before he gets the pizza job/car (may have his car break down , like hinted it would in s3).
Tumblr media
So him and Joyce share the car (once his car stops working) and the accident happens while Jonathan is behind the wheel -with Joyce. And after this he gets the job at surfer boy pizza. Billy was a surfer boy and that memory was used to think about his mother who is no longer around (once he's stuck with his ab*sive dad after moving away from Cali). While Jonathan moved to Cali after his mom passed-maybe stuck with Lonnie.Jonathan's actor in recent pics has a blonde mullet - which sort of resembles joyce/Billy's og hair. This may be why he starts doing dr*gs - which is pretty out of character for him- but it could be a coping mechanism(like in the s4 films). One of many examples was 'enter the void'- the older brother was surrogate parent to their lil sibling and after a car accident k*lls his parents , he starts doing dr*gs to cope. Also ‘hunger games’ was on the list- and Katniss (who was a surrogate parent to her litle sibling, like Jonathan is to Will) in the sequel, saw her family die in an explosion. And it really broke her emotionally.
I've mentioned this before but Billy is used to parallel and foil Will and Jonathan. And it may be more than a ... what if Lonnie had custody scenario. But to show how Lonnie (like most ab*sers) will later bring out the worst in the kids (once he does have custody). Like how s3 has Will mimick lonnie with the baseball bat (and we see in s3 Billy being bullied by his dad to play baseball and flashbacks showing him mimicking Neil). I've also discussed how there's a theme with pretty much every character mimicking their parent- for better or worse.
Killing a deer would certainly hint at Jonathan's possible character regression (and mimicking Lonnie to a certain extent). if he not only blames himself for Joyce's death. But is also stuck with his ab*ser.
The animal k*lling motif , and after that, mimicking an a b*sive father is already shown with el. Brenner , in s1,tried to make her k*ll a cat (using her powers) and she refused (similar to the s1 rabbit hunting story of Lonnie forcing Jonathan to k*ll a rabbit ). But in s2, she uses her powers to k*ll a squirrel (and like a deer- it's typical hunting game). Than in s3 el does literally everything Brenner ever asked of her- she spies on people and repeats the words back (like brenner told her to do), she becomes a weapon to ‘fight the commies’ (which was said to be the reason he k*dnapped her in the first place), and when looking into the void to see the mf (she mirrors the words brenner told her - when he made her go into the void to face the demogorgan).
And some s4 movies are literally about being trapped in a house with your ab*ser and slowly losing your mind because of the ab*se and gaslighting- lighthouse , black swan , good son, are prime examples. But movies like scar face , girl with the dragon tattoo, and book of Henry touch on this theme a bit as well. And ordinary people- is about a guy who survived a vehicular accident but his relative in the same accident didn't- and it causes him alot of issues /survivor's guilt.
The shadowy figure could just be Will in the shot - seeing it in a dream before or after it happens?
Theory 4) Will sees a future vision or has his ’now memories’ of someone else's car.
Evidence: i guess the s4 shot parallels El (in s3) spying on Billy while he’s hurting Heather. During that spying scene: the shot is of El near Billy's car. So it’s possibly a diff willel parallel?
Tumblr media
If not Will. Who knows ...if El’s telekenesis is gone maybe her spying abilities strengthened and look different because of it (and now she can see background details)?
Theory 5) it's Lonnie's car and Will escapes from the trunk and uses his powers in self defense
Evidence: I’m pretty iffy on this one. This goes back to how people suspected Lonnie took Will in s1 (and could be foreshadowing). Even the recent rebel robin book-has characters say Lonnie probably took Will. Jonathan suspected Will may be at Lonnie’s - so checks Lonnie’s car trunk (to see if Will is there). We also see how the mf in s3, knocked people out by dr*gs/str*ngulation, ties them up, and throws them in a trunk (to k*dnap them). Or how the cops raided jonathan’s trunk- which had stuff to track the demogorgan (and the demogorgan parallels Lonnie) . And after looking in Jonathan’s trunk-they suspected something fishy is going on.
Tumblr media
*heather was described as “another me” by Will- who was thrown in the trunk.
Tumblr media
movies: “tangled” was on the s4 list- and had an ab*sive parent later try and kidnap their kid ,and that parent ends up dying. in girl with the dragon tattoo (the girl associated with dragons & phoenixes-  lights her  ab*sive bio dad on fire. In ‘drop dead fred’ (girl who is in love with childhood friend, named Mikey, who she met at age 5) lights a imaginary version of her ab*sive parent on fire - while in a trippy memory world. Chrissy accidentally lights her ab*sive relative (nickname “daddy”)  on fire in self defense- in a trippy hell memory scape. in ‘long kiss goodnight- the girl with 2 personalities (Will/will the wise) was kidnapped and put in a trunk and escapes by jumping into a quarry. Not sure if that could relate to a flashback or something else? like in ‘don’t breath’ the older sibling who essentially was a surrogate parent to the younger sibling-mentions how their dad left the family, and her parent would throw her in the trunk for hours as a punishment.

Rafe Cameron x reader
Part 4
———
Waking up slowly feeling like my whole body has been crushed by multiple busses an stuff you couldn’t even begin to describe to come close to how you felt.tensing up when you didn’t realize where you were,it wasn’t home or John bs an even Barry’s that you went to for help.the bright lights burnt your eyes “Jesus where the hell am I?”I whisper flinching at my own voice.”my room” he told me,why was I in rafes room,I shot you quickly seeing him leaning against a doorway.”an why am I in your room,I don’t remember coming here” panic filled my voice an he must of been able to sense it with the tears that slightly threaten to spill from his eyes.”what happened y/n,why did your father drug you”. Those words still stung “look I don’t know but it’s nothing new,I mean the drug part is but how he acts, look I need to leave please can this just stay between us I don’t need the pogues or my brother finding out”seeing him look nervous was kinda cute, though I remember everything he has did “between us promise” he said “an the coke thing” he says while thinking “stays between us” I said “but you need to get clean or you never come near me again I seriously mean it” I tell him.
Leaving in a rush to meet back up with the others,I haven’t seen them for a while and I don’t want them to worry that I’m gonna be the next person to up an disappear and I don’t need to put jj through anymore of having to worry about things like that.only being able to find pope who was at his dads work.”pope what is going on where is everyone”i ask him while he stands up leaning over to me, “John b is getting a map, kiara an jj are gonna meet up with us,phase two in in progress” he tells me trying to sound like some undercover spy.following popes gaze to topper an Rafe staring at him in toppers jeep,Rafe making kissy faces at pope while topper just stared at us,like he could see through us.pope had ran inside the shop, while I look back at the two in the jeep.glaring back at them and flipping them off “fuck off an find something better to do” I holler at them before running after pope who was on a dead run into the Forrest, which would lead us over to the others an my brother who was now shooting a teddy bear with a gun.classic jj,I couldn’t help but chuckle sitting down talking with Kia while pope was freaking out talking to jj.John b an Sarah never showed up so kia had the plan of going and watching the obx summer movie series,it was something at least to do while passing time I suppose.
Tumblr media
While everything was getting ready for the movie to start, kia went to get drinks.I had saw Rafe talking with her even though I have knew him forever an my feelings for him I have shoved down into the pits of what is the ground,I can’t help but be jealous seeing him lean into her talking to her.I was aware they had a thing her kook year, while she came back she told us she saw Rafe an told her to tell them he knew what her boy he knows what he did.while they looked back at them an jj shoved popes head forward.you didn’t dare look back at him you could feel his eyes practically burning into you or probably kia to be honest while she’s ranting out about jj bringing the gun while he said he didn’t,you know he truly did.her asking what they did you couldn’t help but mumbled “whatever you did deny the living shit out of it” I tell them.rolling my eyes when they had to get up to go the bathroom an even more at Kia’s comments about holding it,but the second I see Rafe an his friends going up to them I rush up kia right on my tail.rafes hand on jjs chest an topper backing up pope into the screen while jj threatens them an pope starts the fight.
Seeing jj fight broke you,you both had to deal with it so much at home it was like natural instinct to you, while kia was hitting them with a bag,you had sucker punched kelce right in his face, drawling blood as you were shoved to the ground as seeing Rafe push kia to the ground knowing her plan you see what Rafe was doing to jj and topper was doing to pope there was no other way to get out as kia lit the screen on fire.while Rafe was saying “holy shit you almost killed him” to topper you couldn’t help but feel your blood boil as you shoved topper to the ground kicking him in his side,an going to punch Rafe in the face as jj pulled you away from him,jjs hands around you waist having you now standing behind him.looking at Rafe with disgust.
Only for your guys next mission, pope heywards dads shop.that would lead to cops coming in,”arrest warrant for felony distruction of property” as everyone out there hands up,while pope was being put in handcuffs.everyone was yelling, expesially jj leading pope out to the cop car,jj yelled it was him,an not pope.yelling trying to convince the cops it was him to save pope from losing his scholar ship, but the thing was is no way in hell were you gonna let your baby brother go to jail, you knew what this all was gonna lead to.”for gods sake for once in my life I’m going to tell the truth it was me,I was so pissed at how they jumped pope an treated my brother it was me I sunk the boat an then I sunk rafes” I say making sure it was believable as hell,I can be a pretty dam good actor when I need to be in situations like these.”I look his old man’s boat to” I said looking at schoulpe. Heyward saying “what the hell”. Probably confused by everything that was going on,I wasn’t sure why they sunk them but I wasn’t about ready to let them take the fall.while jj an pope was trying to say come on an say the truth for the first time I yell at them loud “just shut up,both of you shut up,your both good kids you know exactly where I am from” only for schoulpe to agree.”this was all me” I say as I hold my hands out as they cuff me,booking me into jail.
The cell was freezing,so was the bench I know I didn’t do it but I would rather it be me then them,I knew exactly what was running through jjs mind.if he got arrested no more of the beatings from dad but I knew the truth it would always lead back to that, restitution was thing for a reason.I was pulled in a office for Peterkin to talk to me,but deny deny deny.she was trying to scare me until she showed me pictures of the men who stormed John be house an chased us.they were gaffed an killed used for bait for who knows what, she thinks John b is next.coming out of the cell for dad to be yelling saying he was sad to say he was my dad while restitution was talked about an we walked out to the car while we talked about the money and where I was gonna get it,I knew he already had plans as I got in.”dad I swear I-“ I get cut off by my face hitting the window from a blow to the side of my face met with Luke’s fist he kept hitting and hitting,it felt like it was never gonna end.blaring music trying to drown out dad yelling about how am I gonna get the money, doing nothing, that I’m a worthless piece of shit.eventually he passed out,I knew jj had a gun in his room a second one but I wasn’t gonna do anything I couldn’t no matter how much I hated him he was still an will always be my father even if I wish he wasn’t.running out the front door quickly, not running until I had ran into somebody an stumbling “shit sorry” I say it was John b we were at each other’s throat, that was something new.we never argued we never yelled at each other,John b and I were the only two that normally actually had our heads on straight to think clearly for everyone.John b says he has a plan an of course brings up the money I owe,I had no choice not really.midsummers was about ready to take place.pope an his dad worked in an John b had a plan involving jj.

“What about this one?”
“No, it still doesn’t look right.”
“How are you both bigger and smaller than me at the same time?”
“All my suits are tailored to me, they’re not the cheap off the rack stuff you buy.”
“You say that like I own more than one suit.”
“Don’t you?”
“Nope. One suit. I wear it weddings and funeral, that’s it.”
“Then why do you need to wear one tonight?”
“Because, Rhys said this place is fancy, as in dress code fancy. They have some stupid rule about wearing jackets.” Cass sighed. He thought it would be easy to borrow something of Az’s to wear tonight for his date with Nesta, they were roughly the same size. Turned out Az was both leaner and slightly taller than he, and when the former got his clothes tailored, they looked stupid on the latter. There was no point asking Rhys, if Az’s jackets didn’t fit Cassian, Rhys’s definitely wouldn’t.
Az cocked his head to one side surveying Cassian. “Why are you bringing her to this place anyway?”
“Because it’s fancy and she’s the kind of girl who you have to bring fancy places.”
“Perhaps, but you’re not fancy—.”
“Thanks?”
“No, hear me out. You have been talking to this girl and you like her, correct?”
“Yeah.”
“You’re getting dinner so you can get to know each other better, yeah?”
“Yeah.”
“But this guy,” Azriel gestured to Cassian standing in front of him in an ill-fitting suit, “Is not who you are. You don’t go to fancy restaurants that have dress codes and names of food you can’t pronounce or alcohol you can’t afford. And this girl…Nesta?”
“Nesta.”
“She has been getting to know you over the last week and a half too. She must like you if she’s agreed to go on a date. Do you not think she’s going to realise pretty quickly that a fancy restaurant is not your scene at all.”
Cassian sat down on the end of Azriel’s bed and put his head in his hands. He did not need this right now. He was nervous enough about his date with Nesta he didn’t need his best friend to undermine his plans for the evening with logic.
“I don’t stand a chance with her if I don’t take her somewhere nice. I know she’s been on dates with other guys, I’m sure they’ve brought her to the best places in Velaris. I need to go all out if I want to impress her.”
“Who cares where other guys take her, she’s single and going on a dat with you, so it clearly hasn’t worked out with them.”
“All the more reason to go all out.”
“Be real Cass, you don’t stand a chance with her at all if she thinks that you really are whoever you’re pretending to be tonight. Sooner or later it’s all going to come tumbling down.”
When he looked back on it later Cassian would realise that not only were Azriel’s words true, but they weren’t really intended for Cassian. They were words that he wanted to say to someone else. Someone who had lead him to believe that they were one thing, a thing that Azriel fell in love with, and when that person revealed their truth, his whole world crumbled.
But in the moment, confronted with his own insecurities, Cass didn’t react the way he wished later he had.
“That’s the thing though Az, girls don’t like the real me.”
“Girls like you—.”
“No Az, they don’t! Girls like you, they always have. Mysterious Azriel, he’s so handsome, he’s so smart, he’s so talented,” Cassian was aware that his tone had turned mocking but it was too late for him to roll back on it, “they liked you before you had fame and money, they sure as hell like you more now. If you weren’t so terrified of having your heart broken again then maybe you would see it too.”
He knew he had said the wrong thing the second the words were out of his mouth. Regret flooded Cassian as Az recoiled from him as if he had been dealt a physical blow.
He stood from the foot of his bed where they both sat and headed for the door.
“No, Az, I’m sorry I didn’t mean that…I just—.”
“Good luck on your date tonight Cass,” Azriel said cutting him off. “I hope for your sake you don’t fuck it up.”
Azriel’s words, his wounded expression, bounced around in Cassian’s head an hour later as he stood outside the entrance to the House of Wind.
Okay, that was a lie. He couldn’t standing still. He was pacing up and down the sidewalk, no doubt wearing away the soles of Azriel’s shoe’s he had stuffed his feet into. They were the only thing he wore that fit.
Cassian didn’t think he’d ever been as nervous in his entire life. Then again, he had never been on a proper date before.
He’d had drinks before. When they were in school, he would hound Az into asking one of the girls who hung around the hockey team out for milkshakes, and convince her to bring a friend for Cassian. It always ended the same though, he would gaze longingly at the girl, trying to strike up conversation, while she would have eyes for no-one but Azriel. It was pathetic, and Cassian remembered being awkward, but never nervous. Maybe because Azriel’s presence meant there was no real chance of anything happening. No risk of being rejected by someone he really wanted.
Later he would sometimes ask Emerie for a drink as a prelude to their evening. He liked the company.
But he had never been on a ‘try to find out if we’re compatible enough to spend the rest of our lives together over the course of a dinner’ date before.
And he was terrified.
He desperately wanted to run his hands through his hair, a nervous habit of his. He had tried a couple of times too. Only then to remember that he had gelled his wild mane in place in order to look presentable for tonight.
The doormen eyed him as he paced back and forth, like they knew he didn’t belong there. If there was one thing that Cassian learnt living in the mountains however, was that you should never show weakness. Not to the wild creatures that lived in the forrest, not in the face of the potentially deadly weather, and certainly not in front of the battled hardened locals.
So, he met those stares right back with a menacing one of his own.
His fingers found the soft petals of the rose he held. He had bought it for Nesta from one of those carts that rolled around the city, catching men unawares as they strolled with their ladies. He knew it was an over priced and cheesy but it had felt right.
He might not be the kind of guy who wears suits and eats in fancy places often, but he knew that if he had a girl he would absolutely dote on her. And so a single rose seemed like a good place to start.
It was on what felt like his millionth time passing the restaurant that he saw her. Crossing the road towards him, she emerged from the bustle of pedestrians like Aphrodite from her shell.
Cassian’s world seemed to slow. The nerves that flooded his body became still. The only thing that he was aware of was his breathing and her.
Nesta. Nesta. Nesta.
Something deep inside of him was called to the surface at the sight of her.
She was every bit as stunning if not more than she was in her pictures, brought to life by movement.
Dressed in a simple, yet elegant grey dress, her hair was coiled on top of her head. It was then that he remembered her bio, how apt it was, a queen that he would have to earn.
“Cassian?” She asked, her expression quizzical as she neared him.
“Hi—,” Cassian squeaked. Squeaked! He hadn’t heard his voice that high since his balls had dropped. Loudly clearing this throat, he tried again. “How are you?”
Better.
“Good thanks. How are you?” She came to a stop, looking up at him with deep stormy eyes that cut right to his core.
His head emptied as he gazed down at her. She was so much smaller than him, her head reached the middle of his chest. Her body was soft and curvy; deliciously feminine, but her face…the pictures didn’t do her beauty justice. The depth of her eyes, which she had lined with kohl for dramatic effect. Her high cheek bones. And Cassian didn’t allow his gaze to drop to her lips, which she had painted a deep red. It was sinful.
He was still motionless, gaping like a fish, when she moved. Stepping closer to him and rising up onto her tiptoes, she placed a hand gently on his shoulder to steady herself. A jolt of electricity shot through Cassian, his senses suddenly shocked back into action.
He leaned down to meet her. He went to his left as Nesta went to her right. Instead of bussing cheeks, he ended up colliding with her mouth.
His lips met hers.
It was only a gentle brush.
And only for a second.
But it was fireworks.
Like a star exploded somewhere inside of him.
Cassian’s fists clenched as he tried to restrain himself from grabbing Nesta and pulling her onto him right in the middle of the busy street.
A small laugh came from Nesta as she stepped back. Her cheeks were stained faintly pink.
It only added to her beauty.
Cassian felt his own cheeks heat, and knew that in comparison he resembled a tomato.
He looked down, away from her for a moment, and cringed. The rose was a crumpled mess in his thick palm. He flushed further. He wished he could hide it, or dump it in a bin somewhere, but Nesta had already seen.
“Eh…this is for you,” he thrust the rose awkwardly at her.
Nesta accepted the rose with a wry smile, “You shouldn’t have.”
“I really shouldn’t have,” Cassian sighed, “I’ve already ruined this date and it hasn’t even started properly.”
Nesta didn’t seem to hear. She looked down at the rose, rubbing one of the crushed petals between her finger tips.
Cassian just watched her for a moment, unsure what to say. Maybe he should call the whole thing off now, to save whatever dignity he had left.
But when Nesta looked back up at him, something in her face had changed. “So, shall we go in?”
————
Nesta had to suppress a laugh. The date was going badly. Terribly even. It was categorically, beyond a shadow of a doubt the worst date that she had ever been on.
Cassian was not what Nesta had expected at all. The person sitting across the table from her was not the sexy mountain man from his pictures, whom she had been messaging for the last week and a half.
Another lesson in online dating, she supposed, you really need to meet a person in order to get to know them.
But that was just it. Nesta didn’t think she was getting to know Cassian at all.
Instead, she was on a date with the person Cassian thought she wanted him to be.
She should have guessed when he had first suggested that they get dinner at the House of Wind that it was somewhere he thought she expected to be brought, rather than somewhere he would ever actually go.
Nesta had been to the House of Wind on many occasions, most recently a few days previously when she had met another Swipe date, Eris, here for drinks. A fact that Nesta thought was best not to mention to Cassian.
The House of Wind might be fancy, but it was cliché. The kind of place men brought women to lubricate them - socially, with alcohol - before they brought them home to their bed.
Sure, that was what Eris had done, wasn’t it?
On the many previous occasions that Nesta had been at the House of Wind she had never seen a guy like Cassian there.
The type of guy who, in an attempt to look presentable, used so much gel in his wild hair that it more closely resembled a helmet. Who cobbled together a suit, that clearly neither matched nor belonged to him, in order to meet the dress code.
The type of guy who brought his date a crumpled rose to impress her.
The gesture was so tender that something hard inside Nesta’s chest had cracked at the sight of it.
Thomas had only bought flowers to appease Nesta after an argument. ‘Now let us forget about all that’ he would say to her. Flowers were a sign that he was done arguing and wanted to sweep the matter under the rug, resolved or not.
Nesta glanced at the rose that was lying on the table beside her. She knew, regardless of how this date ended, she was going to bring it home and put it in water. And then, when it eventually died, she was going to press it gently between the pages of a book and keep it forever.
A memory of this night.
That she was deserving of someone who cared about her.
Cassian cared. He cared about impressing her, about making sure she had a good night. He cared so much about what Nesta thought of him that it was stifling any attempt of getting to know him.
And he was nervous.
That much was apparent when he clumsily bungled their greeting.
He still had lipstick on his face from when he’d accidentally kissed her. It had only been the faintest of brushes of their lips, but Nesta’s heart had leapt.
Something had ignited inside of her like a burning fire.
More than it had when Devlin had taken her to his bed the night before. Even with his head between her legs she hadn’t felt that much of thrill.
So Nesta didn’t tell Cassian about the lipstick.
“Everything okay?” She asked, as Cassian looked up from the bill that had been handed to him.
“Eh…yeah. It’s just…” he blanched.
“Yes?”
Whatever he was going to say he decided better of it. “Nothing,” Cassian shook his head, “I just need to make a quick call. I’ll be right back.”
Cassian hurried away from the table, towards the door. Once he was out of view, Nesta leaned across the table and picked up the bill.
Ah.
She figured she hadn’t known he was ordering $100 glasses of whiskey. She probably should have said something, but she didn’t want to emasculate him. Other men she dated would not have reacted well to that.
Beckoning for the waiter, she pulled her credit card from her purse.
The date was truly awful, and yet Nesta found herself utterly endeared.
———--
Across town, squeezed into a tiny little sushi restaurant, Elain laughed. Harder than she had laughed in a very long time.
Maybe it was the foreign feeling of food warming her belly, or the Sake that she had been sipping, but Elain was pretty sure it was the company itself.
“That’s not true!” She giggled at Lucien’s latest punchline.
“I swear it on my life,” he said, his eyes going wide, sincere.
“I still don’t believe you.”
“Scouts honour!”
“I bet you weren’t even in the Scouts.”
Lucien laughed, raising his hands in the air, caught. “Okay, I was not in the Scouts…But that doesn’t make it any less true.”
Elain giggled again. Lucien was not only more handsome in person, but his easy and charming nature had put Elain at ease from the beginning.
“Elain.” Lucien said, his laughter dying.
“Yeah?”
“I think this place is closing.”
“What? Oh!” Elain looked behind her to find the restaurant empty and the staff beginning to clean up. Tucked into a little nook, Elain felt like her and Lucien could have been in a world of their own.
Elain glanced at her phone. There was a text from Feyre in their sister group chat, wishing her and Nesta good luck on her respective dates, but it was the time that had Elain jumping up.
“Oh figglesticks, the time! I must hurry if I want to make the last train.”
Lucien gave her an amused look. “Figglesticks?”
Elain felt herself blush, “Sorry, I’m just used to being with children all day. It’s bad to swear.”
“I think it’s very sweet,” he said with a soft smile, “Let me just pay and I’ll walk you to the train.”
Elain made a move to pull her purse from her bag but Lucien stopped her with a gentle hand on her arm, a shiver went through her. “This is on me,” he said.
“You’re very kind,” she said, blushing again.
It had been a long time since a man had done anything like that for her. In an instant the warm mood of the evening evaporated, fear overtaking her. What if Lucien was only paying because he wanted something from her in return? Was she safe walking with him to the train stations? What if he dragged her down an alleyway and had his way with her? Leaving her cold and crying with no way to get home.
Elain closed her eyes and focused on her breathing. This were the kind of intrusive, anxious thoughts that she had been working to overcome with her therapist.
There was nothing in Lucien’s behaviour tonight to suggest that he was anything other than a nice guy.
“Ready?” He asked, returning from paying for their meal.
“Yes.”
He offered her his arm as they stepped out into the cold autumn night.
“The nights here are beautiful,” he said, gazing up at the clear nights sky.
“Velaris is the best place to go star gazing.”
“Sure looks that way.”
“Have you been here for Starfall?”
“Not yet, I’m looking forward to it.”
“My sister always throws a huge party to celebrate. It is really spectacular.”
“I can only imagine.”
The continued like that, strolling along on the empty streets, looking at the sky, chatting about nothing in particular until they reached the train station.
“So…” Lucien said, coming to a stop, “I had a really great time tonight.”
“Me too!”
“You sound surprised?”
Elain shrugged, “I guess I didn’t really know what to expect.”
“Would you maybe like to do it again sometime?”
“Yes, I would really like that.”
“Good,” Lucien smiled.
He hesitated for a moment, before deciding to lean in.
Elain held her breath, her fingers wrapping around the keys in her pocket. A pathetic weapon, but one that might make the difference if she needed it.
But Lucien simply brushed his lips to her cheek before pulling back. “Safe home, Elain.”

“Again and Again”
A Shayne Topp x Reader imagine
Tumblr media
Word count: 3357
A/N: yo what’s up, another poorly written Shayne one shot.
So I know most of this stuff is inaccurate to the actual events that took place/sleeping arrangements/etc., but that’s the wonder of fan fiction! I can do whatever the fuck I want! In this one, Shayne goes on a quest to become a living Ken doll and cuts his dick off.
I’m kidding, that’s terrible. Sorry, I’m not funny.
Synopsis: During Smosh Winter Games, your boyfriend of 2 years breaks up with you over text. Shayne tries to assure you that everything will turn out okay. Angst and slight fluff.
TW: cursing, Wes
>>>>><<<<<
When you were asked to be part of the crew for the Smosh Winter Games, you ecstatically accepted. What could be better than going to stay at a huge-ass log cabin with a ton of your closest friends?
The morning that you were meant to leave, you woke up without a single hesitation. You swiftly got dressed into one of your favorite shirts, a flannel, and jeans. You didn’t really have any other options as most of your clothes were packed into your suitcase, which was waiting by the door for you. You grabbed a granola bar from your pantry and ate it for a quick breakfast while pulling out your phone to call your boyfriend, Ethan. After 3 rings, he picked up.
“Hello?” His groggy voice came through your phone’s speaker.
“Hey! I’m leaving my place now so,” you grabbed your water bottle to fill it up, balancing your phone in between your shoulder and ear, “I just wanted to call you to let you know that I love you and I’ll see you when I get back!”
“Okay.” He sounded kinda off to you. He was either tired or irritated, but you were in too good of a mood to let his ‘I’m not going to tell you what’s wrong, but I want you to ask and make sure I’m okay’ attitude get to you.
“Uh, alright then! I’ll... see you in a few days!
-
Everyone was asked to be at the office relatively early, since it was a pretty long drive ahead of you. You and your luggage were escorted to a van. You ended up riding in what became, “Awesome Car One” and rode with Wes, Sohinki, Lasercorn, and Shayne. Before you knew it, you were off on the road trip to Big Bear Lake. After about 30 minutes of driving, a vlog camera was passed around and shoved into your face.
“(Y/N)! What are you most excited for?” Lasercorn asked, his eyes wide with anticipation.
“Sledding, a hundred percent! I used to do it as a kid but since it doesn’t snow in California, I haven’t done it since I moved out here.” You explained
“Okay, I didn’t need your entire damn life story.” He replied bringing the camera back to face him.
“Don’t be so mean, she was just reminiscing!” Wes came to your defense.
“Thank you, Wes!” You smiled at him. You felt your phone vibrate and looked down to see a text from Sarah.
Olivia just got car sink and threw up on the side of the road
*sick
You laughed and remembered part of the conversation you all had earlier.
“Hey, you guys remember how we were talking about Olivia not surviving in the cold?” You asked. They all murmured ‘yes's and ‘yeah’s.
“Well apparently she just threw up on the side of the road because of motion sickness,” you laughed.
“Oh shit, is she okay?” Shayne laughed slightly.
“Probably!” You shrugged your shoulders.
-
After hours of driving, you and everyone else finally arrived at the log cabin (or mansion.) You hopped out of the car and started to stretch. Being in a cramped car for a few hours straight was pretty rough on the joints.
You headed behind the van to help unload your group’s luggage. Shayne pulled your suitcase out for you and handed it to you.
“Thank you, kind valet!” You took the case from him and smiled.
“Valet? I thought I’d at least be butler status by now…” he said, looking disappointed as he grabbed his own bag from the back.
“Maybe some other day. Just not today,” you laughed. The two of you began to walk towards the front door of the cabin. Sarah walked up next to you guys.
“Hey guys! (Y/N), we’re staying downstairs,” She said. She wasn’t carrying anything, so you assumed she had already settled in.
“Okay, awesome- oh, wait! How’s Olivia doing?” You asked.
“Oh right, did she throw up anymore?” Shayne tagged on to your question.
“Yea, yea. She’s fine! Actually, she literally started complaining about being hungry immediately after she threw up so…” Sarah responded. You giggled at her seemingly quick recovery.
Once you stepped into the place, you looked around for the staircase that would lead downstairs.
“It’s this way,” you heard a voice say behind you. You turned and saw Shayne smiling at you, standing in front of the staircase. You smiled back and followed him down the stairs.
“Jesus Christ, the size of this place is kinda terrifying…” You nervously laughed and looked around at all the log and stone decorations. You were pretty sure you even saw fake bear skins hanging from some ceiling beams.
“Yea, but it’s kinda really awe-“
“Y’know this huge-ass mansion is basically built on stilts, so it could all come down at any second!” Lasercorn came in, interrupting Shayne. He looked at him, disapprovingly.
“Shut up, we’ll be fine.” Shayne placed his hand on the wooden wall and leaned back casually. The floorboards above you guys creaked, causing Shayne’s eyes to widen and Lasercorn’s smile to grow.
“Yea, I’m sure we’ll be fine…” he laughed and walked away, leaving just you two in the room.
“I don’t know who else is staying in this room, but I’m for sure calling the top bunk.” You said, chucking your suitcase to the top of a bunk bed with the might of Zeus.
Shayne laughed, “I guess I’ll go bottom bunk then.” He placed his bag on the bed underneath yours.
“Shayne Topp is now… Shayne Bottom…” you whispered to yourself. Shayne heard you.
“That joke sucked.”
-
After everyone settled into their rooms, beds, and spaces, a few of you decided to go to the living room and hang out with each other. Pizza was ordered, drinks were had, people were testing out the hot tub, and the whole night was just like a big family reunion. It was rare that you all were in the same place at the same time, so you just kind of looked around the room and took it all in. Your thoughts were soon interrupted by Shayne's presence. He hopped up and sat on the back of the couch, behind you. You looked up at him and smiled.
“Hey,” you said, casually.
“I wanna play ping pong but I need another player; you down?” He asked you, raising an eyebrow.
You laughed, “Sure, but I’m kind of a natural Forrest Gump at ping pong.”
He called your bluff, “Yea, okay. Sure.” The two of you giggled as you headed to the game room.
-
After 4 matches, the two of you were tied up.
“Loser has to put his dick in a mound of snow.” You said, playfully.
“Wh- hey! Are you assuming that you’re going to win?” He defensively raised his hands.
“Is it really an assumption if it’s so obviously going to happen?” You quipped back.
“I- what?” He shook his head, “whatever, I’m into snow anyway. She’s my babe.”
You giggled as you bounced the ping pong ball and hit it gently towards him. He hit it back. You hit it at him, he hit it back. This went on for a while, (y‘know, like a game of ping pong?) Eventually you did whatever the ping pong-equivalent of spiking was. It bounced so hard on his side of the table that it ended up flying over his head. Your mouth formed an O and your arms shot up as he failed to hit the ball back.
“OOHHH SHIT! Have fun catching hypothermia, frosty dick!” You teased.
“You were serious? I thought you were kidding…” Shayne whined.
“Okay so maybe don’t pull down your pants and do it, but you gotta put snow down the front of your pants.” You reasoned. Shayne groaned.
“Fine, I’ll be right back.” He stepped out of the room to run and get a handful of snow from outside. While he was gone, you decided to check your phone. You saw that you had a text from Ethan so you unlocked your phone to read it.
Honestly, you were expecting a ‘good night’ text, as it was pretty late. Instead, your eyes focused on the words ‘I’m sorry’ in a sea of other words and phrases. Phrases like ‘it’s just getting too hard’ and ‘it’s not you, it’s me’ and ‘I hope we can still be cool after this.’ Your stomach dropped.
Was this really happening?
Shayne burst into the room, interrupting whatever thoughts were racing through your mind.
“Okay, I’m back! I had to run past everyone before the snow melted, so that’s going to be fun to explain later.” He was almost out of breath, “you ready?”
Like a switch was flipped, your face lit up as you turned to face him.
“I think the real question is, are you ready?” You laughed, trying to wash what just happened out of your brain
-
You woke up the next morning on the top bunk. Normally, your first instinct would be to check your phone, but last night’s events suddenly came flooding back. You decided to hold off on checking the phone for now. Instead you just laid on your back, staring at the ceiling. You went on like that for a while before realizing that the room you were in was eerily quiet. However, you could hear voices coming from upstairs. Everyone must have been awake already. Though you were dreading it, you leaned over to check the time on your phone. 11:34 A.M. You were all going to go sledding at 12, but in all honesty, you didn’t think you could. You really wanted to get your mind off of Ethan, but you also wanted to stay isolated so that you could have time to process your feelings. Almost on cue, as always, Shayne entered the room.
“Are you still sleeping?” He asked. He stepped onto the second leg of the ladder leading to your bunk, and peered over the edge to look at you.
“No I’m awake, just… hanging out.” You responded, trying to sound as normal as possible.
“Oh, okay. Well get ready! We’re finally going sledding!” He excitedly shook your blanket and jumped down from the ladder.
“Uh- actually, Shayne?” You called out. He turned to you.
“Yea?”
“Just, um… I don’t know if I’m really- y’know I’m just really not… I’m not really feeling sledding right now.” You managed to say. He looked confused.
“Really? But you were so excited! Are you sure?” He had a right to be confused. He knew you wouldn’t skip out on what you had been looking forward to most. At least, not for no reason. But not only did he know when something was wrong, he also knew your limits and when you really didn’t want to talk about something.
“Yea, maybe later today.” You pulled your blankets up over your shoulders.
“Okay then… is there something bothering you that I should know about? Anything at all?”
You sniffled silently. You prayed he didn’t hear that, “No, no… I’m totally fine! Just y’know sometimes people just don’t feel like doing stuff.” You tried to justify yourself in the most vague but reasonable way possible. Shayne finally decided to let it go.
“Okay,” he began to walk towards the door but hung back in the doorway, “See you later then?”
You were near tears, so you didn’t want to verbally answer. So instead you nodded, but remembered he probably couldn’t see you. You shot a thumbs up into the air for him to see. He hummed in acknowledgement before closing the door and heading back upstairs.
This shit really hurt. Not only did you just get broke up with by someone that you were planning a future with, but you had to keep it hidden from everybody. You didn’t want to be the one to ruin everyone’s time and make their fun getaway into some comfort-fest, where you were the guest of honor.
Tears streamed down the sides of your face. You rolled over and tried to go back to sleep, but you just couldn’t. Instead you put in your earbuds and listened to some music, while staring at the ceiling. You stayed like this for a few minutes.
A few minutes turned into a few hours.
A few hours turned into the whole day.
Shayne came in after sledding to bring you some food, but you dismissed him. You told him you weren’t hungry. He didn’t believe you, but he could tell that you still weren’t ready to talk about whatever was bothering you yet. He wanted to give you time.
-
Everyone eventually filed into their rooms and bunks to get ready for bed and go to sleep. The lights went out and people started falling asleep. You couldn’t sleep, so you quietly got out of bed and walked up the creaking wooden stairs and into the kitchen.
It was sweet of Shayne to bring you food earlier, and you regretted turning it down. As you opened the fridge, your stomach growled. It was pretty loud, considering the house was quiet. Every once and a while you’d hear giggles, snores, coughs, and other various noises.
You grabbed the milk jug out of the fridge and gently placed it on the counter behind you before tip-toeing to the cabinet and opening it carefully. You made yourself a bowl of cereal. You sat down at one of the kitchen island’s stools and began eating, though something felt off. You felt a presence in the room. You slowly turned your head and looked into the pitch-black doorway that led to the living room. You saw a shadowy figure staring back at you.
“Hey Shayne.” You directed your attention back to your bowl. He approached you with a smile.
“Did I scare you?” He asked, casually assuming the position of leaning against the kitchen island, across from you.
“Not really, I knew it was you.” You shrugged with a silent laugh.
“What? How?”
“The outline of you is… distinguishable? I think that’s the right word. I dunno, muscular.” You paused. Was that weird to point out? I mean, everyone made jokes about his… buffness. Why were you thinking so much about this?
“Oh, why thank you!” His smiled grew and he looked down at his feet.
“Though, I will admit; I hardly recognized you without your beanie.” He looked back up at you and made a face.
“Well yea, it's… nighttime. I don’t sleep in it.” He laughed, “so are you going to tell me what’s up?” His smile quickly switched to a more caring demeanor. You couldn’t stop looking at his kind eyes and sweet smile. He really wanted you to be okay.
“Ethan… broke up with me.” You looked down. Saying it out loud was weird. The words fell out of your mouth and seemed to float in the air and hang in front of your face. The realization hit once more, and so did the crying. You blinked back tears, but each time you moved your eyelashes, more and more fell. You brought your hand up to your eyes and wiped your face. He wasn’t saying anything, so you looked up at him. His brows were furrowed and his jaw was clenched. You waited in silence for a while. He finally spoke.
“I always fucking hated that guy.” You didn’t know how to react to that. You couldn’t exactly be offended, but it was definitely a crude reaction. “Sorry, sorry. I just meant that- well… I just always got that weird feeling that he was going to hurt you.”
“Why didn’t you say anything?” You wiped more tears away with your hand.
“Well… I always wanted to. I would overhear you talking about manipulative things he would do, but then the next day you were fine. And while I didn’t like seeing you hurt, I knew that it wasn’t exactly my place to talk.”
“That’s… bullshit.” You said. He seemed taken aback, “Sorry. I just- I get it. But I really wish you had said something. It would’ve been so much easier for me to end things from a friend telling me what they saw, instead of him ending things for seemingly no reason. I guess I’m just sick of losing people that mean a lot to me. I’m sick of forming relationships with people that leave me.”
He looked so sad to hear you say those words. You should’ve stopped there, but the floodgates were open. You began rambling like a frantic mess.
“How is someone as fucked up as me supposed to ever share myself with someone again? H-How do I know I can trust someone before I give a part of me away to them? How will I know they w-won’t leave me like everyone el-“
He cuts you off by grabbing your body and wrapping his arms around you. You hadn’t realized that during that time, he had circled the island and appeared by your side.
“Hearing you think like that is so… upsetting. I know I can’t say or do much to prevent you from thinking that way, but please- please just know that you still have your entire life to find the perfect person who will make you feel like you’re worth every second.” He seemed to plead with you. He was begging you to see yourself how he saw you.
In that moment, in that position… you realized you liked having his arms around you. The feeling it gave you was sheer perfection compared to how your ex made you feel. With your ear on him, you could hear his heartbeat and it was beating fast. You managed to stutter out a few words with your face pressed into his body.
“Thank you.” You removed your head from his chest, and looked up at him. You were met with his bright blue eyes. While you couldn’t hear his heartbeat anymore, yours became increasingly more noticeable to you. Your tears stopped falling, and time seemed to slow. His face inched closer to yours, and you tilted your chin up. You didn’t know what was happening, but it felt like a magnet was pulling you towards each other. Eventually, after what seemed like way too long for your liking, your lips connected.
You liked Shayne.
The two of you kept kissing, neither of you really wanted to stop. It grew increasingly more intense. This was something that Shayne had been waiting for. Not just for the kiss, but for you. His hands were placed firmly on your back, and slowly began to adjust to your body. Your hands ran through his hair, silent sighs escaping your mouth. What you were doing felt so good, but you knew it had to end. You pulled away slowly, and gently opened your eyes, where you were once again met with his.
“Sorry, that was way too soon. I shouldn’t have done that.” He began nervously running his hand through his hair. He looked kinda really hot like that...
“No it’s okay! That was good. I’m… good. I liked it.” You tried to keep him from overthinking it. He looked up at you with hope in his eyes.
“Really?”
“Yea really. I agree that the timing was kinda… poor. But it was a good thing that I would like to happen again.”
“Again?”
“Yea… again. As in, I would like to kiss you Shayne. Again… and again...” You smiled and looked down at your feet. He bit his lip to prevent an excited giggle from escaping. He cleared his throat in an attempt to keep his cool.
“Do you… want a hot drink?” He asked. You nodded.
-
The two of you spent the rest of the night, sitting on the couch and talking. About Ethan, about each other, about… everything. You held the warm mug of hot cocoa in your hands. You couldn’t drink it, your stomach wouldn’t allow you; there were way too many butterflies doing acrobatics in there. Eventually, the two of you decided to turn in for the night.
The next day came, and you went sledding.

AAHH hey!! : ) for the asks:
primrose, lion's fairytale, honey perfume, sunflower, and wisteria!!<33
OOH YEAH! I'm very excited rn these are adorable and I ramble I'm sorry it's the anxiety *nervous laughter*
Primrose: book everyone right now needs to read: Ooh um... I am in love with Fangs by Sarah Anderson. It's a visual novel with amazing artwork and so so freakin cute! A vampire and a werewolf meet and... fall in love? Yes, I think so.
Lion's fairytale: rather be sky, ocean, or forest? Forrest. I am a plant person for sure and the mystical serenity of being lost deep in the woods? Yep.
Honey perfume: Fav movie ever: So many classics and cult favs and nerdy ones to choose from but I gotta say Hoot (2006) with Logan Lerman and Luke Wilson. Fun, environmental conservation, incredible music track too.
Sunflower: Fav. quote: oof. several. My all time fav is long but it's Sam's speech in LOTR The Two Towers "The tales that really mattered" speech, pasted below the cut for those who wish to read it, it's not terribly long.
Wisteria: whom do I admire and why: a lot of people but my go to is Kasey Musgraves because she writes and sings about what she wants (and her song Follow Your Arrow means a lot to me) and is unapologetically herself.
Frodo: I can't do this, Sam.
Sam: I know. It's all wrong. By rights we shouldn't even be here. But we are. It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were. And sometimes you didn't want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy.
How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it's only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer.
Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something. Even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back only they didn't. They kept going. Because they were holding on to something.
Frodo: What are we holding on to, Sam?
Sam: That there's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo. And it's worth fighting for.

Do you watch Chris Brennan?
No. I watch a few astrology videos and read a book here and there as long as it’s on the topic of evolutionary or intuitive astrology. I’ve also had an interest in Vedic Nakshatras and Claire Naktis interpretations for the past few months. I don’t subscribe to traditional astrology or anything that comes across as practical/predictive/academic. Whatever’s being said had better be poetic and/or a unique take or else I’m going to lose interest real quick lol. Also, I hate when I’m interacting with things that are astrology related and the message that’s being relayed is void of emotion and not heartfelt. I need to be enchanted. The predictive type of astrology that Chris Brennan practices suggests that the planets are in control of us. Everything is fixed, there’s no magic or imagination, so what is there to believe in? I’m not intrigued by the pseudo fortune telling and uninspired, repetitive terminology that’s being parroted constantly by 99% of practicing “astrologers.” The planets present the energies and we respond. History repeats itself if there’s no evolution, and humans have not evolved spiritually on a societal level in centuries, which is why we keep seeing the same predicaments reoccurring on in different fonts. Fortune telling is a doomed way of thinking because we all have the power within us to change, everyone on Earth is a student and all signs have a Divine essence to unlock in order to complete their spiritual mission. The purpose of astrology is to find your souls purpose and give meaning to your personal universe, to learn how to connect with yourself and others on a deeper level to become kinder, more patient and compassionate towards the world around you. Thats what unlocks the evolved powers of all 12 zodiac, that’s how you become whole and complete your evolution. The same goes for the major arcana, hero’s journey, human design and anything else of that nature. They all lead to the same conclusion, which is perfection and communion with every Divine essence so that you can heal yourself and others.
Anyway, the only astrologer who speaks to me is Sarah Vrba, I’ve been watching her since I was sixteen and any time I feel lonely or anxious about energies in my life, she washes them away within minutes. Most people I’m skeptical of, but everything she says just gives me butterflies.<3 Some astrologers have the ability to just spiritually captivate you if that makes sense?? Steven Forrest’s works do that for me too.

Ep 204: Nain Rouge
“Suddenly across their path, trotting along the beach, advanced the uncouth figure of a dwarf, very red in the face, with a bright, glistening eye; instead of burning it froze, instead of possessing depth emitted a cold gleam like the reflection from a polished surface, bewildering and dazzling all who came within its focus.”

What is the Multiverse? Five Must-See Alternate Timeline TV Episodes to Watch After ‘Loki’
Look, I get it — multiverse storytelling can be confusing. Marvel’s Loki streaming series is only the latest in a long line of stories that plays fast and loose with the idea of multiple or parallel timelines. Loki follows the God of Mischief (Tom Hiddleston) after he gets involved with the Time Variance Authority, or the TVA, as they try to correct problems in individual timelines. This provides us a chance to see lots of variant Lokis (including our favorite chompy green boy) and opens up opportunities for a lot of zany storytelling that doesn’t necessarily have to impact the primary timeline.
The idea of multiple universes existing at the same time isn’t anything new. Some of the earliest examples date back to Norse mythology, which divided existence into nine worlds. DC Comics first introduced the idea of the DC multiverse in its comics in All Star Comics #3 in 1940, and Marvel later followed suit, starting with their What if? series in the 1970s. While the concept of parallel universes might feel a little daunting to contemplate on your own, these five television episodes will help you understand the magic of the multiverse.
Tumblr media
“The Parallel” — The Twilight Zone
When it comes to television that changed the way we think, Rod Serling‘s The Twilight Zone is the forebear of them all. The original series ran from 1959 to 1964 and contained stories from science fiction greats like Ray Bradbury (Farhenheit 451) and  Richard Matheson (I Am Legend). Each episode in the anthology series told a different short story, most with the intent of exploring some political or social allegory.
In 1963’s “The Parallel”, Major Robert Gaines (Steve Forrest) is orbiting earth in his space capsule when he suddenly blacks out and wakes up on Earth with no memory of how he got there. He’s uninjured, but the world he’s arrived in doesn’t quite match the one he left. His daughter suspects he’s someone else, his house suddenly has a white picket fence that his wife swears has always been there, and everyone keeps calling him Colonel, which matches his uniform but not his memories. He’s a little shaken until he comes to the conclusion that he’s in a parallel universe, and then takes steps to get back to his own timeline.
“The Parallel” marks the first instance of multiverse storytelling on TV. It doesn’t do anything particularly groundbreaking and is a middle-of-the-road The Twilight Zone episode, but it’s the first, which means it paved the way for everyone else to tell TV stories about parallel universes and doppelgangers.
Tumblr media
“Mirror Mirror”/”Crossover” — Star Trek/Star Trek Deep Space Nine
Did I say doppelgangers? If there’s one franchise that has capitalized on the potential fun of meeting your alternate self, it’s Star Trek. In the “Mirror Mirror” episode of the original series, a teleporter mishap sends Kirk, McCoy, Scotty, and Uhura to a parallel dimension where everything is reversed. The Federation has become an evil Empire, Kirk is a tyrant, and Spock has a goatee (that’s how you know he’s evil). The episode started several tropes about doppelgangers (including the whole goatee thing), and paved the way for future Star Trek iterations to really go wild with the Mirror Universe.
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine explored the Mirror Universe more than any other Star Trek series, with stories taking place there over five different episodes. The first of these, “Crossover,” is the most important and sets the stage for the later mirror episodes. In “Crossover,” Major Kira (Nana Visitor) and Doctor Bashir (Alexander Siddig) have an accident inside of the wormhole near the planet Bajor, sending them to the Mirror Universe. It’s been decades since Kirk and co. crossed over, but things are still pretty backwards in the Mirrorverse. Instead of the Federation, there’s a coalition between the Klingons, Cardassians, and Bajorans. Terrans (a fancy word for Earthlings) have been enslaved. The space station Deep Space Nine is instead a mining operation, run by the alternate Kira, the Intendant.
There are few things in the world as enjoyable as watching Visitor play her double role. The entire cast really gets to go for it with their Mirrorverse personas, and you can tell they’re having a blast. The Mirror Universe in Deep Space Nine gave the actors a chance to explore their characters in new ways, and it provided more insight into their individual pathos. Sure, the Mirrorverse versions were the “evil” versions of themselves, but there were still versions of themselves. Kira is a strong leader with a dry sense of humor, regardless of whether she’s the former Bajoran freedom fighter or the Intendant. “Crossover” set up the following four Deep Space Nine Mirror episodes, including episodes where Captain Sisko (Avery Brooks) must pretend to be his doppelganger and deal with the fact that his dead wife is still very alive in the parallel universe. Some of the episodes are silly fun, and some are a bit more heady, but they all get to explore sides of these characters that we’ve never seen before.
Tumblr media
“Remedial Chaos Theory” — Community
The NBC sitcom Community frequently made its own riffs on popular tropes, and it had an utter field day with parallel universes. In the season 3 episode, “Remedial Chaos Theory,” viewers are treated to seeing six different ways the same evening could have played out. The friends, who met in a Spanish study group at their community college, are all celebrating Troy (Donald Glover) and Abed (Danny Pudi) moving into a new apartment. When the pizza arrives, group leader Jeff (Joel McHale) suggests they roll dice to see who has to go get the pizza. Abed, who is sensitive to tropes, points out that Jeff is creating new timelines by introducing chance, and then we get to see each of them play out.
What “Remedial Chaos Theory” does is brilliant. It’s a bottle episode, all set in one location with no visible impact on the overall plot. However, by seeing how the situations change each time a single character is removed from the group dynamic, we’re able to learn so much more about the group as a whole. The episode gives us insight into the characters and their relationships by changing up the formula just a pinch and removing one element. In the Darkest Timeline, which leaves Pierce (Chevy Chase) dead and severely maims the rest of the group, it’s revealed that things fall apart without Troy in the mix. At the end of the episode, the prime timeline continues and it’s Jeff who has to go get the pizza. This ends up being the most positive of the timelines, which means maybe the group is better off without Jeff at all. It’s a great piece of character storytelling and even ends with the Darkest Timeline versions of Troy and Abed making felt goatees for themselves before declaring they are Evil Troy and Evil Abed.
Tumblr media
“Rixty Minutes” – Rick and Morty
Community showrunner Dan Harmon clearly has a love for stories involving parallel timelines, so it’s no surprise that he expanded on those ideas in Rick and Morty, the adult animated series he developed with Justin Roiland. Rick and Morty is a kind of Back to the Future for twisted adults; it follows the adventures of alcoholic mad scientist Rick Sanchez (Roiland) and his hapless grandson Morty Smith (also Roiland) as they travel through space and time. In the first season episode “Rixty Minutes,” Rick introduces the entire Smith family to the many parallel timelines that exist. He and Morty watch Interdimensional Cable in the A plot, which gives Roiland a chance for lots of fun improvisational gags, but the B plot is more interesting. In order to enjoy his cable watching, Rick gives Morty’s parents and sister a helmet that will let them see through the eyes of some of their alternate selves.
Jerry (Chris Parnell) finds a version of himself that’s a huge Hollywood player who parties with Johnny Depp. Beth (Sarah Chalke) finds a reality where she’s not a horse surgeon, but a human surgeon, like she always wanted. Their teenage daughter Summer (Spencer Grammar) discovers that she was an unplanned pregnancy and that her parents argued about whether or not to get an abortion. In the parallel universes, she either doesn’t exist or her life is hopelessly boring. This leads to a pretty massive existential crisis, but she’s stopped by Morty, who has already had his fair share of timey-wimey weirdness.
Morty takes Summer upstairs and shows her two dirt mounds in the backyard. He explains that he’s not the Morty from this timeline, and that he and Rick had to come here after things in their timeline got too bad. The Rick and Morty in this timeline had just died, so they slipped in unnoticed. Then, Morty gives Summer a bit of advice that shows he’s beginning to grow up a bit on his madcap adventures.
“Nobody exists on purpose. Nobody belongs anywhere. Everybody’s gonna die. Come watch TV?” he pleads.
The episode ends with the entire Smith family realizing that dwelling on possible alternate realities will only ever cause problems. It’s a testament to living in the here and now, and is one of the series’ most emotionally resounding moments.
There are dozens of shows with multiverse stories out there, from ’90s sci-fi staple Sliders to the later seasons of Supernatural. These five, however, helped expand upon the trope as a whole, and are worth checking out to improve your pop culture savvy. That, and they’re just a lot of fun.

#MentalHealthAwarenessWeek 9th-15th May. This year’s theme is “Loneliness”. Day Six.

Day Six -Margaret Royall sea glass strange and precious we are, glinting and small;our jewelled colours dulled by the sun,our strange shapes buffed by the tides and sand now parched, now aflood, now alone, nowmurmuring, as we brush against each other;we think we control our placement on this land. gazing mildly up on stark dark nights,we see the stars. My favorite fics of 2011
Continuing to sift through old bookmarks, here are my favorites from 2011 that are still up:
26 Pieces by Lanning (28K, E, Johnlock) Mycroft gives Sherlock the apparently simple task of solving a puzzle box containing a stolen microchip. It isn't simple.
A Life Well-Lived by Kate_Lear (20K, E, Johnlock) ‘John got scared off men by an abusive past relationship. Sherlock has to try and woo him while not scaring him off with protective possessive rage.’
A Love with No Name by aceofhearts (49K, M, Johnlock, Warstan, Mary/Irene) In which Asexual!Sherlock and Straight!John are platonically in love life partners.
A Thorough Examination / In Depth by emungere (15K, E, Johnlock) Sherlock watched John's mouth as that smile slid away too quickly. There had been something there, something he'd not had time to analyze. He was left with the unsettling impression of having witnessed an expression that didn't belong on John Watson's face at all. In its wake it left the equally unsettling thought that perhaps he didn't know John as entirely as he thought he did.
A Week in the Country by chainsaw_poet (20K, NR, Gen) Sherlock's lifestyle has taken its toll on his health and John is worried. With Mycroft's help, John coerces Sherlock into taking a holiday in the country to get some rest. Unfortunately, their trip doesn't quite turn out to be a relaxing as John had planned, when Sherlock's latest case decides to catch up with them.
Blind Man's Bluff by Rae666 (25K, T, Gen) "We are gods among mortals. But even gods must be tested." Sherlock loses his sight temporarily and must rely on his other senses and John in order to solve the case at hand. But as the killer draws closer, could the pair be in more danger than they first thought?
Contamination by LauraJV (16K, M, Gen) In which an artistic murder draws Irene Adler and her brother Nathan into the lives of Lestrade and Holmes, and Dr John Watson balances his morals against the happiness that is a warm gun.
Dehumanise Me by deuxexmycroft (26K, E, Johnlock) John is sent down for life after accidentally murdering someone, and gets snatched up to play prison wife for a strange man named Sherlock Holmes.
Disguise by kaalee (55K, E, Johnlock) Sherlock's disguises are little more than a nuisance to John until one day he walks into the kitchen dressed as someone from John's past, someone John had tried to forget.
Evidence of Human Life by thesardine (16K, E, Johnlock) Sherlock's sanity deteriorates while he and John are stranded on a deserted island.
Floriography by lbmisscharlie (21K, M, Johnlock, Warstan) Florist!AU - Sherlock is a florist and he's doing the flowers at the wedding of John Watson and Mary Morstan. John's about to marry his best friend in the world. He's happy, in love, and content with Mary. So why can't he get tall, enigmatic man who did the flowers at his wedding out of his mind?
Getting Better by noxcandida (75K, T, Gen) Tristram Holmes dreads attending his new primary school, fearing he'll be teased and bullied as usual. Only, nothing goes exactly as he thinks it will when he finds himself with a seemingly unlikely friend in Emily Watson.
In My Master's House 'Verse by BrighteyedJill (185K, E, Johnlock, Mystrade) As a new slave in the Holmes household, John is having trouble finding his place. (This series began posting in 2011 and continued until 2014)
In The Land Of The Blind by entanglednow (12K, M, Johnlock) Apocalypse.
Indecorous by Basingstoke (55K, E, Johnlockary but it’s a different Mary than in the show) In which John learns to balance a kinky girlfriend, an asexual boyfriend, a ten-inch cock, his sister, the neighbours, his friends, and his blog. Some are more balanced than others.
Lacuna by coloredink (15K, E, Johnlock) God, it must have been terrible, to think that he would never have this again.
Let's Make a Bed Out in the Rain by theimprobable1 (17K, M, Johnlock and Warstan) John is devastated after his long-term girlfriend leaves him. Sherlock helps him through it.
Level 65 Paladin Looking for Group by etothepii (10K, T, Gen) "I think I met someone," John says at his next therapist's appointment. "A friend." "Really?" Ella asks. She sounds pleased, and also surprised. "What's his name?" John nods. "Really. His name's Sherlock. He -- he plays the same game as me, the online one. We party together."
Major Pieces by Lindentreeisle (31K, T, Gen) Sherlock knew that he could thoroughly rely upon John Watson's moral sense. And that's why he knew that Lestrade was wrong, wrong, wrong.
My Phone’s on Vibrate For You by misslucyjane (21K, E, Johnlock) Sherlock texts John all the time. Today’s different.
Never-Ending Cycle (orphaned) (17K, T, Johnlock) Or, four times Sherlock Holmes attempted to propose to John Watson, and the Christmas Party at which he finally did. Sherlock thinks he's a miserable failure, John is confused, Mrs. Hudson and Lestrade provide some unsatisfactory advice, and Mummy is, as always, the solution. All in a lovely, fluffy holiday theme.
On The Ice by berlynnwohl (35K, E, Johnlock) "Sherlock, I once saw you taste a vacuum cleaner attachment that had been used as a murder weapon, so can we please not pretend that Dungeons and Dragons is too weird for you?"
Parallel by brbsoulnomming (77K, M, Johnlock) There's a case at a secondary school/University, some series of threats or string of bizarre murders that has the entire campus shaken. In the course of the investigation, Sherlock and John meet two students. And, because they both want to help with the investigation, they get to watch them become friends and fall a little in love. And that makes them feel things about themselves that they've been working very hard to not feel, thank you.
Secondary Exposure by thesardine (18K, T, Gen) After twenty years, the killer who abducted John as a child has resurfaced.  Now John and Sherlock must track him down before he claims another victim, and at the same time navigate the shifting nature of their relationship.
Sic Gorgiamus Allos Subjectatos Nunc by etothepii (20K, M, Johnlock) "Sic gorgiamus allos subjectatos nunc. It's the family motto." "What does it mean?" "We gladly feast on those who would subdue us." (Addams Family crossover)
The Art Of Seduction by flawedamythyst (97K, E, Johnlock, Mystrade, Sheriarty, John/OMC, Sherlock/OMC) Sherlock ran a website called The Science Of Seduction, on which he gave advice on the best ways to get laid, wrote blog entries detailing the results of his various sexual 'experiments' and generally contributed to the stereotype of 'every gay man is a sex-mad playboy'. John avoided the thing like the plague. AU in which Sherlock treats sex like he does crime in canon.
The Baker Street Series by magicbunni (199K, T, Gen with background John/Sarah) Conspiracy and murder find Sherlock Holmes and John Watson surrounded by covert enemies in the heart of Scotland Yard. Together, they unearth clues that illuminate the scope, depth, and distorted psychology behind the crime. And, after a preemptive strike ordered by the mastermind they pursue, Holmes elects to continue the investigation under conditions that will force John Watson to fight for his friend's -- colleague's -- life.
The Penultimate Problem by Random_Nexus (18K, E, Johnlock) Angst, apocalypse-light, pseudo-hiatus, and other hijinx ensue.
The Love Song of Dr. John H. Watson by Kate_Lear (11K, E, Johnlock) John takes Sherlock out for the evening on Valentine's Day.
The Perfect Specimen by Cleo2010 (27K, E, Johnlock) After seeing John undressed for the first time and making certain observations, Sherlock quickly becomes obsessed with a certain body part belonging to his flatmate. This is the story of how that first sighting came to be and the following attempts to learn more. An unashamed masturbation-fest, first person and very detailed. It's rated explicit for a good reason!
The Poster Girl by stardust_made (67K, M, Gen) A seemingly straightforward case has Lestrade calling for Sherlock's help. Written from John's POV, this story takes place two months after the events in "The Great Game" and follows the investigation of the murder of Veronica Havisham: seventeen, popular—and murdered in Hainault Forrest on a Friday night in June.
The Progress of Sherlock Holmes by ivyblossom (62K, E, Johnlock, Warstan) “I had,” he said, “come to an entirely erroneous conclusion, my dear Watson, how dangerous it always is to reason from insufficient data.”
The Pull of One Magnet to Another by ellie_hell (46K, M, Johnlock) Mummy has arranged Mycroft’s marriage with an ex-army doctor. However, John meets Sherlock first, and sparks fly.
The Top-Secret Livejournal of Sherlock Holmes by malacophilous (23K, M, Johnlock, Sarah/John, Sherstrade) Sherlock has a Livejournal, which he updates constantly via his mobile phone and netbook. Everyone offline thinks that he's this stoic super-genius, when in reality he's a bonkers super-genius.
There's A First Time For Everything by Kate_Lear (21K, E, Johnlock) A series of 'firsts' in Sherlock's life.
Those Left Behind by nickelsandcoats (33K, E, Johnlock) After the events of The Great Game, Sherlock is on the hunt for revenge as John waits for Sherlock to join him. But deception abounds as both men struggle to come to terms with the paths their lives have taken.
What Makes Us Rich by flawedamythyst (31K, E, Johnlock) Agreeing on a compromise is one thing, living with it is quite another.
Whirlwind by rubyofkukundu (19K, E, Johnlock) You may be familiar with the following fanon ideas: 1. Sherlock was very sexually active at university. 2. It was while John was a student that he discovered he was bisexual. I decided to put the two together :D
