The malice, whole concerning, is not the focal point of the lack of noticing women on screen. The malice in these situations is people too thick to realise They're not noticing women's stories and getting mad at bad writing for not having women's stories bc they don't comprehend that They are the one with the problem. Not noticing women's stories and not getting mad at it is doing Exactly the same thing as the first group and just having a different secondary reaction. You're not better than group A.

If you can only notice women having emotions and personalities when they're furiously screaming and rageful and/or (exuberantly) traumatized (or crying their eyes out, but 13 doesn't even get close to that) then like sorry but You are the problem. There are many people who noticed 13's personality and quirks and neurosis and bad behaviour in season eleven, people who clocked her accurately enough to make accurate predictions of where this would go because everything you need is there on screen if you deign to look.

However, if you can't comprehend women as creatures that do more than screech and scream like your average baby then yeah I'd get why you missed it, too.

Shit like this reminds me of "Human Nature" aka, the two part episode that puts Martha Jones through hell worse than The Year That Never Was because the Doctor could have picked anywhere and anywhen and anyhow to hide as a human with Martha.

Instead, he picked a time and situation that placed them at a massive power imbalance, subjected Martha to outright racism and sexism whether he did it directly or not, and placed her at an equally massive disadvantage in the effort of ACTUALLY HELPING HIM WITH THE MISSION because she was put in such a position of low stature that he would not believe her or trust her.

And the Doctor is supposed to be her FRIEND for fucks sake. You can expect The Master to put you through hell, but your fucking friend who you're supposed to trust?

And it makes me think that when Chibnall did the same idea with Ruth/Fugitive Doctor, that was done so much better. Ruth!Doctor and her companion were clearly close in their pretend lives (implied to be partners, if I remember correctly) and there was such respect and care with their dynamic.

With Ruth!Doctor being a black woman and her companion being a white man, the tables could have very easily been turned in a spiteful way, the way all the NMDs and whiners complain that 13's era has been (with no evidence). They could have easily made her have a position of relative authority and her companion have a meek, shit-on underling position.

They could have made it "Human Nature 2.0." But they didn't.

And now I want to believe in good faith that RTD has changed from then. But him pulling bad faith shit like he did? In the year 2022? After all that's happened in between? It's very difficult to keep the good faith for him.

She remembered being his age, after all.

“But I’ve also found that an arjunta chamolace tea does wonders for settling the senses, if you’d like to join me for a cup.” Leia paused, thinking, then offered, “Or we could just go up to the roof and look at the stars for a while.”

Not that there were really stars to see on Coruscant. But the twinkling lights of the ships and speeders passing overhead against the dark dome of the sky gave much the same effect, at least for those few privileged enough to live in the upper levels where there was a sky to see.
