We had a lovely sunset today, which I hope yāall can see.Ā
I did some homework for AP Lit. It was some multiple choice questions on the college board website, and it wasnāt too bad. I also did some homework for Chinese class, that was pretty easy.Ā
Soā¦I sprained my ankle :ā). I didnāt realise it yesterday, because I did a flunge(flying lunge, because weāre not allowed to flĆØche) and slipped, and landed weird, and my ankle kinda hurt. I figured it wasnāt that bad, and took it easy the rest of fencing practice, but still did like five bouts. Then, I woke up this morning, and my ankle was a lot worse, so I went to the athletic trainer after school today, and he diagnosed me with a sprained ankle, fun. He iced it for me, and had me do a bunch of exercises for strength, mobility, etc, and wrapped it. It actually did feel better after that, and I did go and do fencing practice today. I have to fence in a meet tomorrow, so hopefully itās not too bad. Lesson learned, donāt hurt yourself flunging.Ā
Night yāall, donāt do stupid stuff like me.Ā
Day 3 of the Zoomester Studyblr Challenge
Iāve never done a studying challenge before, but Iām expecting to get more responsible with my studying, and also try to post everyday.Ā

I had to buy a fountain pen for my my Drawing Class this semester because we were doing and ink/ink wash drawing. And JFC, I fell in love with it.
Look how pretty the thin strokes area. Then look at how gruesome the thicker lines look.
I mean, how and why did we stop using fountain pens? Theyāre sleek and- and- and I forgot what I was gonna say. But look! Fountain pens! each size looks so cool and neat and pretty!
And then thereās this bastard:

Lots to do today, so thisāll have to be quick.Ā
I made my letter for my pen pal at the senior center for NHS. I was super excited, and very Extra, because Iāve always wanted a penpal, and Iāll also take any excuse to use excessive amounts of stationery.Ā
Day 2 of the Zoomester Studyblr Challenge
Not sure too much of what I want to do with my future, but I know definitely not something with maths or science. Iām into the humanities, maybe something business-y or law? Not sure. Law seems really interesting to me, so probably something with that.Ā

This year, I started journaling and I recently got a fountain pen to achieve the oh so cursive writing effect. I decided to use my journal to express my thoughts and emotions on mostly fandoms. As an introvert, I donāt tend to outwardly express my feelings when Iām reading or watching a series. Which isnāt necessarily healthy, thus, I think writing on pen and paper does help facilitate my ideas and emotions. I havenāt really been journaling these past weeks, but I think I decided to make a commitment to journal more often.Ā
I tried doing some automatic drawing with different pens. I donāt really know what I drew, but I like them.
Clockwise, these are: fude pen, fountain pen, pentel pocket brush, fountain pentel.
Hereās a video on automatic drawing if you want to give it a try: https://youtu.be/MJYGFwGhHnA
This is the first studyblr challenge Iāve done, I hope I stay consistent with it!
Day 1: introduce yourself! Whatās some basic info youād like to share about yourself? What are you studying?
Hi! Iām Jay, Iām 21 and Iām preparing for medical entrance exams!
Day 2: if youāve chosen a major, why did you decide on it?
So Iāve wanted to be a psychiatrist since I was 10 years old but when I was 16 I started having major Doubt in my abilities and intelligence and decided maybe I should consider pharmacy instead as (in the uk) pharmacy is far easier to get into. I knew deep down it wasnāt what I wanted to do though and I felt really lost, I wasnāt sure if working in healthcare was for me. Learning stopped being something I enjoyed but something that gave me immense anxiety so I dropped out of sixth form and worked for a few years, first in retail and then as a healthcare assistant and realised that I really enjoyed working in healthcare! I slowly started to fall back in love with the idea of medicine and psychiatry and last year I quit my job and went back to school to finish my exams! Itās been quite a journey but Iāve learned so much from it and I know that the obstacles I experienced have made me much more self assured and I hope will help me to be a better doctor someday!
Fountain Pen Review: Meister by Point Slim Liner Fountain Pen (Black Body MediumĀ Nib)
The Meister by Point Slim Liner Fountain Pen ($13.50) was a total impulse purchase a few weeks ago. With an Under-$20 price point, it was hard to resist.
The pen shipped in a blister pack which I destroyed getting the pen out of the package. Delightfully, the pen shipped with a converter. Quite generous at the $13.50 price point.
The Meister by Point Slim Liner is only available with a mediumā¦
No, I havenāt been staked, or tossed into the sunlight and sent to a final demise. Iām just tired, Iāve been feeling like garbage, and having trouble sleeping, the weather has been swinging wildly between winter and spring and making my joints hurt. Iāve been playing a lot of Ark: Survival Evolved and doing a lot of diamond painting. Mostly Iāve just been huddling in my chair, in the most hideous green housecoat youāve ever seen, and trying to make it to the next day.
I did my laundry the other day, and now itās sitting in a pile in the hall, because I havenāt been able to get up the wherewithal to actually put it away. And itās been over a week.
Also I am out of toilet paper. I paid my rent this month, and then decided to buy some new ink samples for my fountain pen, so I spent about 20$ on a bunch of Sailor inks, mostly from their Manyo and Shikiori lines, because they have the best glide feel when writing, its so smooth and the colours are beautiful. My pen is a Jinhao pen, its their black dragon pen (it also comes in gold but the black and silver is prettier), itās metal and has such beautiful engraving and detailing, itās lovely. I always loved fountain pens, but with modern pens Iām always afraid to hold them because I tend to grip tightly, and I have burst more than one ink pen by holding it. Acrylic body pens are not my thing. But this was entirely metal, and has so many gorgeous details, from every single scale on the dragons, to the swirling clouds and the red gem eyes. Iāve got a couple of samples of ink at the moment, one Sailor and two Robert Oster inks, but I found the Robert Oster inks have a drier flow, it just feels scratchier when I write.
But anyhoodles. This is me, checking in, letting all and sundry know what their asexual vampire friend has been doing. Any queries about vampire things, feel free to ask, I love a good topic post, and Iām happy to answer you. Iām out of topics in my bin, so Iām at kind of a loss about what to say, which is partially why Iāve been so silent.
Tilā the next!

Young Eagle Hunter & About Recording Drawing Demonstrations
Talking and drawing at the same time is hard. I made a first attempt at recording a drawing demonstration while explaining what I was doing throughout. What would normally be a 5-10 minute fun sketch became 40-45 minutes š¤Æ. I have a newfound admiration for the instructor I assist who draws while giving a lecture live every class.
To the drawing. Another sketch inspired by the eagle hunters of Eastern Mongolia. Somewhere down the rabbit hole I learned about this young girl whoās father takes out on his motorcycle to train with her Golden Eagle. The look of pure joy being up on a hill with her eagle ready to swoop down to its target was wonderful to see.
