He would carry those two around and show them off to everyone who is within earshot. Lil misfortune specifically would be the belle of the ball. She’s just the sweetest little lady and actively tries her best to help. Fran, despite her traumas and struggle with basic human contact, genuinely loves them she just has a hard time showing it.

If he were their brother I don’t think we’d have Bully Travis. He’d be the doting hug brother shielding them from Kenneth and his manipulations.

I can also see Lil Miss running to Sal for help when things got too rough at home or Travis got really hurt (ie; his blinded eye) or if it’s REALLY bad Fran is the one to reach out.

They often match or he lets them dress him up. It’s very obvious who did what. Fran likes vintage older outfits. Neutral colors. Little to no accessories. Lil Miss likes bright colors and accessories! Travis is often covered in stickers on his bruises and even some make up when the girls want to experiment.

This possibly is how he becomes more interested in childcare and having his own family.

Hence: Sal and Larry plotting on him as soon as he starts looking for partners (it took quite a while as the girls were his top priority until they became independent)

Fran poisons Kenneth after he first hurt Travis. It’s small dosages to weaken him. Lil Miss let her animal friends terrorize the cult members after they tried to sacrifice Fran and Travis to a demon!

Hiiiii trickster!!

I know it’s been a while since you talked about your Fran bow fic, but I was wondering: I planned on commissioning a friend to do a drawing of Remor (as you describe him anyway) and was kind of wondering if you had a picture or something you imagine his hair looking like? I’m not the best at visualizing, so I’m not the best at describing, beyond him just having.. long red hair. Thank you in advance!!

So let me just dump some old sketches and headcannons here. X3

This is one of my first concepts for The Third Option - the moment where Fran chooses to accept Remor as his own person deserving of understanding and compassion. I was definitely playing fast and loose with their appearances as I hadn’t yet settled on anything (still really haven’t…) this is would have been from about 2016?

Fast forward a bit to 2017 and I’d settled on a more dreamlike look for Fran - keeping her hair shape pretty similar, but playing around with her clothing. Remor’s style is starting to solidify more, still trying to strike a balance between his in-game appearance and my headcanon.

This is where I really started to nail down Remor’s Thin Line look. These are from 2020. He’s rather thin and spindly, but he dresses in layered robes to hide his shape. Hair is long but has some layers on the top, sometimes little wisps escape his shroud, giving his Shield that bloody, veiny look similar to his in-game appearance. The three concepts are an armored, under layer, and robed appearance.

This is one of the most recent sketches, where I was playing around with a more demonic appearance. Though it does convey a lot of the main things I see in my head for my version of Remor - long, flowing hair that’s a bit wild and untamed, flowing surcoat or robes for the DramaTM.

Remor in the Thin Line series is meant to be a shape-changer, something I might explore more one of these days, so I’ve also never felt the need for him to have a fully set-in-stone appearance. It’s more about getting across his general vibe - wild, untamed, and dangerous. Also, he’d typically only show his hair off while relaxing in the 5th Reality, preferring to keep it hidden in all other situations and places beneath his shroud.

Life Cycle of Tree Spirits

They begin, as all plants do, as simple seeds. Except these Seeds were born from the Sanctuary in the Valley of the Seasons.

As such, they are born with an awareness stronger than any other plant life, allowing them to speak telepathically with others.

They are trained by the Guardians of the Seasons until they are ready to go through the Ritual of the Seasons.

The Ritual is more of a coming of age/graduation ceremony, after which the Seed finds a host for themselves.

After that, they will gain the spiritual power with which to create their own Forest and spread Light.

Such former Seeds include Seir, Sein, Seia and Seik.

Sein is the Light and Eyes of the Spirit Tree of Nibel, Ori’s homeland

Seir is the Light of the Spirit Willow of Niwen, whom Ori succeeded after the Willow succumbed to the Decay.

Seia is the Light of the Spirit Blossom of Lemuria. It’s my headcanon in this AU that the Explorers were in Lemuria while it was in a state of Decay, like Niwen was. Aurora’s ancestor bonded herself with Seia and inherited her powers of light, which were passed down the generations through the firstborn children.

As long as they ruled, or at least lived in the country, Lemuria would have its Light.

Seik is the Light of the Spirit Tree of Rime, located in the Denial section. This is the Seed that bonded with the Fox in Seasons After Fall.

After successfully completing the Ritual, the Seed went on to find a proper host, while the Fox became a new Guardian.

Once bonded with a tree host long enough, the Spirit Seed will start to produce new Light Spirits.

Being bonded extends the Tree host’s lifespan well beyond is expected capacity, but when the Tree host eventually starts to wither and decay or the Light Seed is stolen away, the Forest/land they protect will go through a period of Decay.

The Decay can be rectified either by returning the Seed or a Light Spirit sacrificing itself to give the Tree new life.

In the worst case scenario, where the tree host is too old and sick to be functional even with the Light Seed, a Light Spirit can bond with the Seed instead, becoming a new Spirit Tree.

If the Seed cannot find a new host, it will die as well.

This is what happened to the Spirit Tree that used to reside on the Mainland in the Pale City.

The City was built on top of a fully decayed Spirit Forest, and the Signal Tower was constructed over where the Tree once stood.

Like the Seeds, the Signal needs a host to broadcast its will through.

When the tree host dies, its spirit becomes one of the tree people as seen in Ithersta.

When the Seed dies, it’s Light returns to Primeve and it’s consciousness is reborn as either a Valoka or a human, depending on certain circumstances.

In this AU, the Light of the Mainland, Seim, was reborn as Mono. His Tuning powers may have originated from exposure to the Signal, but they could also have manifested from his past life as a Light Seed.

His current life is messed up from being stuck in a time loop for who knows how long, until Six was reborn as Selene and broke the cycle.
