Tom Nichols is a hardened New England detective, unflinching in his pursuit of a case where nothing is as it seems and it begins to dismantle the illusions in his own life.

It's always fascinating how the mere presence of Benicio Del Toro creates an ominous mood. But I still felt that for a long stretch the movie had difficulties to get the story really going.

I also thought it was a bit odd that right from the start Timberlake's character was treated with such suspicion.

Overall a good noir genre exercise, but it had the potential to be better.
