hi. idk if this has been asked or answered before, but I was wondering if Vesper and the LI's would ever wanna have kids someday? or have they had any thoughts about it before? how would they raise their kids? what type of parents would they be?

Francesco Yes, he loves the idea of nurturing a warm and familial home so much ♥ He's the one willing to have the most children, likely. He'll be a patient father who encourages creative activities, curiosity, and seeing lots of the outdoors. He wants his children to feel fulfilled and have the kind of independence he couldn't have himself for a long time.

Keir Having kids isn't something that's really crossed his mind, but mostly because he never really expected the opportunity would come. But if it becomes an option, he gets really attached to the idea of having children. He already expresses love through caregiving but also loves banter, so as a father he'd be one part attentive and caring and one part playful "bully".

Oleander For reasons that may be obvious at the end of his chapter, Oleander currently does not want to have children. But after a hypothetical good end? He's not opposed to the idea, and he'd be willing to have children with a partner who wants them, but it's not something he needs to be happy.

- Lightning sits in the weirdest fucking positions when he’s engrossed in his little phone games. Like he’ll be broken into a croissant in the back seat while playing PvZ. Doc one time found him scrunched up in a small corner of the room, on his stomach, with his legs over his head and pressed into the wall in a giant L-formation while watching YouTube

- He’s really, really, really bad at Mario Kart

- Lightning and Mater will play games on call over Discord

- Lightning doesn’t know shit about technology, but whenever Doc needs help with something involving a game console or his phone or a game or something of the like, Lightning will always somehow know how to fix it or beat the level or whatever

- He’s an Apple user and does not fuck with any other brand for phones(he hates Apple computers tho)

- He 100% buys and uses all the phone cases of his merch(including the knock-off ones)

- Doc is a boomer and Lightning always has to help him set things up on phones

- Lightning has spent 107 hours on the Olive Garden app

What's your headcanons for Columbo?

Does he have a wife? Does he have over 10 murderer boyfriends? Etc

part of what makes columbo so fun to watch is that the showrunners essentially wanted you to make headcanons about columbo. much of the intended fun and mystique of the character is thinking about his personal life and what makes him tick.

now as for me, i'm completely nuts, so asking me about my columbo headcanons is like opening pandora's box. it's overwhelming. i have headcanons about what the man wears when he begrudgingly remembers to take out the trash at 11 pm. so i'll try to keep it short with my more sane and general ones:

his name is francesco

his wife is real. it's fun to imagine him single, but the wifeless theory doesn't hold much water. as time went on, the writers made a conscious and overt decision to make columbo's wife a real entity. between private phone calls and cruise trips, it becomes an active effort for one to ignore her presence, despite the fact that you never see her. in fact, they came close to showing her:

my headcanon for them is that they're like most interesting couples: similar in important ways, but complementary. e.g. columbo clawed his way out of high school, she finished postgrad summa cum laude. he's messy, she's clean. he loves gourmet cooking, she burns water. she's a techie, he couldn't hack his way out of a paper bag. she has her series 7 license, he kind of knows what a stock is. etc.

he reads. constantly. even if it's just the newspaper

he's more refined than he lets on. columbo may be a self-proclaimed chili-eating mark twain louis armstrong cream soda kind of guy who confuses HVAC ductwork for art installations, but i think he's someone who cares about the integrity of the things around him. he has taste. he's realistic, he values simplicity, but he's not a rube. he appreciates quality items, good food, good music, and fine traits in people.

he's more introverted than he lets on. he can be garrulous and friendly with strangers, but lots of times we find him silent and/or lost in thought. he largely works alone and we often see him alone off the clock.

his job affects him more than he lets on. i mean kind of a given, right? he's seen it all, but he's still human. aside from being perpetually tired and hungry because he's hyperfixating on his work, i imagine he has some degree of post-traumatic stress. in my head columbo wakes up sometimes in a cold sweat thinking about the girl who jumped off a balcony or the guy strangled to death at the gym

he was a troublemaker as a kid. i love imagining him as an agent of the law born out of his chaotic, delinquent upbringing. i sometimes entertain the theory that he's killed or had someone close to him killed as an impetus for the sheer drive he has for his work. i also think he was definitely the most annoying motherfucker on the block as a kid and his brothers bullied him for it so hard he turned it into a strength

his fashion sense is actually good. more of a gripe i have than a headcanon. it irks me when people diss columbo's fit. young columbo clearly knows how to dress, and stock standard columbo changes subtly throughout the show. but the basics--the tan raincoat, grey/reddish/brown suit, white/creme button-down, dark green tie, brown chukka boots--are very well-coordinated in color and material. they're baggy out of necessity, not sloppiness. he moves around constantly and thus prioritizes comfort in a job and milieu that require a suit and tie in sunny southern california. it makes perfect sense that he'd eschew a sharply tailored worsted wool getup and opt for roomy linen! he dislikes overly tight clothes. which leads me to...

...he's a certified Freak and he gets "weirder" with age as he grows less and less concerned with how he comes off to others--"masking", so to speak. related to this is that the raincoat is his safety blanket, as he's sensitive to textures and levels of pressure/constriction. just look at him trying to think in the Wrong Coat:

sometimes he'll swing by the grocery store at 10 pm to pick up something for the wife and when nobody is looking he rides his shopping cart through the store like this

he has a strategy when he goes to buffets. the little old lady in front of him may be piling noodles and rice onto her plate but columbo's got so much steak and shrimp on his that they're about to ask him to leave

This is about the casino story I talked about SOooooooo..

Poker Deal is about four Teenagers, Jonathan, Charlie, Elijah, and Alex that come across a massive casino and decide to go in and have fun since it was summer. Charlie and Alex get wasted and gamble a lot. The Cardmaster decides to challenge them into one more round. If they win, they get 1 million dollars. If they lose however, their soul is his. Jonathan Knows something is off about this place but Charlie and Alex did not care. They sadly lost and now their souls are trapped. As for the other two, they are trying to find a way how they can free them and it can go back to normal. The story may be fun and cool but it holds a tragic past. Let’s hope John and Jacob can save the two. Who would want to leave someone to die?

Jonathan: Jonathan is a 17 year old trans boy with brown hair, an orange jacket, sunglasses and tan eyes. He is known to be the serious and cautious one in the story and usually thinks twice before he acts. Ever since his friend’s souls got trapped in the casino, He’s been trying to find a way to help them ever since. He would not sleep or even eat knowing the fact that the two are in danger. Elijah is highly concerned and tries to help him but Jonathan denies it. Jonathan has a little sister named Chloe and cares a lot for her. Jonthan identified as a female but did not really feel like one. Later on he found out he identifies as a male.

Charlie: Charlie is a 18 year old man with black hair, a gray hoodie, a star necklace and dark blue eyes. He is Hispanic but usually speaks English since his family got deported for unknown reasons. He was one of the victims of the card master and after his soul was trapped, he does not gamble that often anymore, since that’s what dragged him into this situation. He is Jonathan’s best friend along with Jacob and Alexander. He wants to be a clothing designer.

Elijah is an 18 year old boy with blond hair, dark green eyes along with a scar on one of his eyes, bandages, white pants and a black shirt with a yellow moon symbol. He can get really uncomfortable and can ignore people but sometimes he’s caring and sweet towards others. There was a tragic event that happened in his childhood and he lost some of his memory due to being hurt badly. He doesn’t really mind if people bully him, but if they bring up his mother, It’s a deathwish. He can get distracted very easily.

Alex is a 17 year old man with dark skin, black hair with a white streak, a black and red hoodie and angel with one being dark. He was an alcoholic and would fake his ID just so he could get some drinks. He would always annoy Ellijah and poke him around but still cares for him. He would drink to the point where he wheezes and laughs. He is pansexual and loves all genders.

Anthony is a 41 year old man with brown hair tied back in a ponytail, a blue police uniform, and green eyes. He is dating Francesco, who is his colleague. He did not have a good childhood since his father was alcoholic and used to beat him. The mother got him out of that mess. He used to have kidney cancer. He is partly German and can speak german. He has a few white hairs due to stress. Even if his girlfriend is partly a demon, he still respects her. He even plans on proposing to them.

my proposed Johanna I of Naples TV show: The She-Wolf of Naples

hello. one of my historical woman fixations is late medieval queen Johanna I of Naples (Giovanna I), who ruled the kingdom of Naples (in what is now modern day Italy) from 1343-1382. 

Johanna’s grandfather was the legendary Robert the Wise, called so for his role as a patron of the arts, knowledge, and his efforts to transform Naples into a peaceful, beautiful city. 

orphaned at a young age, Johanna was largely raised by her step-grandmother, Sancia of Majorca, who had no children of her own. she was acclaimed as Robert’s heir, as both his legitimate sons died young, and betrothed to her cousin Andrew of Hungary, who some argued had his own claim to the throne of Naples. 

nevertheless, Robert insisted that Johanna alone would succeed him, and that her husband would be a prince consort, rather than a king. 

my take on it would be heavily inspired by the biographical novel From She-Wolf to Martyr: The Reign and Disputed Reputation of Johanna I of Naples by Elizabeth Casteen

below i detail the first two episodes, purely for my own enjoyment.

EPISODE 1: A MULTITUDE OF WOLVES (1343)

“I am really alarmed about the youthfulness of the young queen, and of the new king, about the age and intent of [Sancia], about the talents and ways of the courtiers. I wish that I could be a lying prophet about these things, but I see two lambs entrusted to the care of a multitude of wolves, and I see a kingdom without a king. How can I call someone a king who is ruled by another and who is exposed to the greed of so many and (I sadly add) to the cruelty of so many?” - Francesco Petrarch, 1343

Robert ‘the Wise’, King of Naples, struggles to settle the matter of his succession. With his only son who survived to adulthood, Charles, dead, leaving behind just two daughters, he names his elder granddaughter, Johanna, heir. yet Robert’s nephew, Carobert of Hungary, insists the throne is rightfully his, and that Robert remains an usurper. 

to avoid further conflict with the line of Carobert, the Angevins, Robert agrees to wed Johanna to Carobert’s second son, Andrew, while her younger sister Maria will marry Carobert’s heir, Louis. 

6 year old Andrew is brought to Naples to wed the 8 year old Johanna and be reared in Robert’s court, but struggles to fit in and is frequently bullied and harassed by the Neapolitans. Johanna and he clash almost immediately, and Andrew is humiliated to find the youth of the court firmly in her favor. 

nine years later, when Robert dies, Johanna is 17, and Andrew 15. the marriage remains unconsummated, and adding to the tension, neither spouse can wield any real political power until they turn 25. instead, the council is ruled by Sancia’s, Robert’s widow. 

irritated by what she views as an infantilization, Johanna appeals to Pope Clement, who refuses to intervene. at the same time, Johanna’s 14 year old sister Maria is abducted and forced to marry a Neapolitan duke, Charles of Durazzo. 

Andrew’s family, the Angevins, are incensed that Andrew will never be acclaimed king of Naples, even when he comes of age, and begin a rumor that Robert changed his mind on his deathbed and acclaimed Andrew as his heir instead. this only fans the flames between husband and wife, who now openly loathe one another. 

EPISODE 2: ABOMINABLE AND INSIDIOUS SAVAGERY (1344-1345)

alarmed by reports of the political tensions in Naples and Johanna’s continued attempts to exert herself as queen before her 25th birthday, Pope Clement decides to intervene and insist that Andrew be acclaimed as Johanna’s co-ruler, rather than merely her consort. 

Johanna steadfastly refuses, framing herself as Andrew’s guardian against an increasingly derisive and volatile court, while at the same time news of her first pregnancy is announced. yet many doubt the marriage has been consummated, and when Sancia dies in the summer of 1345, the ruling council splinters, and Johanna seizes control of Naples. 

Andrew privately insists Johanna is dabbling in affairs with multiple men, but chiefly with her charismatic and cunning cousin Louis of Taranto. Johanna meets the rumors with incredulous scorn, and publicly mocks Andrew, resulting in him swearing revenge once he comes into his own inheritance. Clement begins to fear open civil war will erupt between Johanna and Andrew, and attempts to placate Andrew’s rage, to little avail. 

by September of 1945, the marital discord is at a breaking point. the pregnant Johanna and Andrew travel with their respective retinues to a hunting lodge in Aversa. in the night, Andrew is lured from his bed by his own chamberlain, and viciously attacked by a group of courtiers and men at arms. beaten and strangled, his body is thrown into the gardens, where the dying Andrew is discovered by his childhood nurse. 

public outrage ensues, both due to the murder and the humiliating nature of it. many hold Johanna and her cousins responsible, while Johanna’s brother in law Duke Charles decides they must give a farce of an investigation to stave off revenge from the Angevins. 

the murder is largely pinned on servants and the Cabanni and Catani families, members of Johanna’s inner circle but now blood relations, including Johanna’s beloved nurse Filippa and her childhood best friend Sancia de’Cabanni, despite Johanna’s protests. Filippa, Sancia, and the other accused are tortured and burned at the stake. 

Johanna gives birth to Andrew’s posthumous son, Charles, on Christmas Day, 1345, but is tormented by the memories of her toxic relationship with his father, and the infant boy’s frail health.

BRUSSELS (Reuters) - Belgian authorities have charged four people linked to the European Parliament over allegations World Cup host Qatar lavished them with cash and gifts to influence decision-making.

RAIDS AND THE PROSECUTION CASE

Investigators searched 19 homes and the offices of the European Parliament in raids from Friday to Monday.

A source close to the investigation said 1.5 million euros ($1.6 million) was seized in the raids. This included 600,000 euros in cash at the home of a suspect, several hundred thousand euros in a suitcase in a Brussels hotel room and 150,000 euros in an apartment belonging to a European Parliament member.

Investigators also seized laptops and mobile phones and ordered the IT resources of 10 parliamentary staff were frozen to prevent data disappearing. Investigators seized the data on Monday.

Searches have also been carried out in Italy.

The Belgian prosecutors say they have been investigating for more than four months alleged payments made by a Gulf state. Sources close to the case say the state is Qatar.

Qatar denies any wrongdoing.

In arrest warrants issued in Italy, there are also allegations of payments from Morocco.

The Moroccan government has not responded to a request for comment.

THE SUSPECTS

Four suspects have been charged with participating in the activities of a criminal organisation, money laundering and corruption.

Prosecutors have not named them, but a source with knowledge of the case say they are:

Eva Kaili - a Greek socialist politician who was one of the European Parliament's 14 vice presidents until Tuesday when lawmakers voted to remove her from that post. The former television presenter defended Qatar in the assembly last month against those trying to "bully" Doha over its treatment of migrant workers. Her Greek socialist PASOK party is expelling her from its ranks and Greece has frozen her Greek property.

Her lawyer in Greece said she denied any wrongdoing. "Her position is that she is innocent," Michalis Dimitrakopoulos told Open TV.

Pier Antonio Panzeri - a former European Parliament member from Italy's centre-left and founder of non-profit pro-justice campaign group Fight Impunity. Belgium also submitted European arrest warrants for his wife and daughter in Italy. Extracts of the warrants say they took part in Panzeri's activities and in the transport of gifts, and that Panzeri and his wife had the use of a credit card of an unidentified person they called the "geant", or giant.

Panzeri, who is detained in Belgium, could not be reached for comment. Fight Impunity did immediately respond to a request asking for comment or for contact details for his lawyer.

A lawyer acting for the family in Italy said Panzeri's wife and daughter denied any involvement at a hearing in Italy on Saturday but he declined to comment on the merits of the case because he had not received the full European arrest warrant. An Italian court is expected to decide next week whether his wife and daughter will be handed over to Belgium.

Francesco Giorgi - Kaili's partner who is parliamentary assistant. His LinkedIn account says Giorgi is a sailing instructor and a founder of Fight Impunity. His account says his specialist areas as a policy adviser are foreign affairs, human rights and the Middle East.

Giorgi did not respond to a message requesting comment sent to his LinkedIn account. Reuters also received no response to emails that were sent to the office of the lawmaker he advises and to Fight Impunity.

Niccolo Figa-Talamanca - the secretary-general of human rights and rule of law campaign group No Peace Without Justice.

Figa-Talamanca could not be reached for comment. No Peace Without Justice said he had suspended himself from his role to safeguard the organisation and that the group trusted the investigation would show he had acted correctly.
