I have to say, it's fucking raw how Anthony is hammering in the theme of generational trauma; Bearry not teaching Hen to handle his anger, Hen not teaching the twins how to handle their anger, Sparrow not teaching Normal how to handle his anger. Frank making Darryl kill the turkey, Darryl making Grant kill the quimera, Grant making Lincoln kill the tree. Bill was an absent father to Glenn, Glenn was an absent father to Nicky, Nicky is an absent father to Taylor.

Dndads Dad characters and what I consider to be their most notable parenting crime

The amount of seriousness for any of these is highly variable

Barry: Using a giant hamster water bottle type thing to hydrate the soulless bodies of your grandkids. Bill: Not letting his son murder him. Cern: Getting your kids involved in the doomsday cult you're a member of. Darryl: Honestly? Being a slightly more boring version of my own dad. Frank: Not super canon, but like...he'd give the "Eat some peanut butter to stop being depressed" advice. Gartok: Enslaved his kids. Glenn: Pretended to not like minions with an intensity that it made him look really bad in court. Grant: Probably should have taken Lincoln to a therapist right after the cat incident. Henry: Seems to have forgotten he has a daughter. Jodie: Gave his child a flashbang. Lark(?): Didn't tell Normal about the bulletproofing in the mascot outfit. Poor kid was probably wondering why all the cheerleading moves were harder now. Marco: So unsure of himself that he's able to be convinced he signed a permission slip for his son to go to Seattle. Nicky: Suggests friend murder way too easily as a problem solving method. Ron: "Who's your daddy now?" Scam: Hermie is a teenager because that's the funniest age for him to be. Sparrow: Did not stop Normal from being Vinny the Vulture during a heatwave. Terry Jr.: Offered Scary some kale chips that one time. Willy: Honestly? It's the I have two fish and two plates...lemme just stack these plates together and eat both of the fish moment. That's just such an inexplicable, what the fuck? moment for me.

I’m sorry, but nobody can convince me otherwise that Darryl was the most anxiety filled kid ever. Like he was constantly wondering what God would think with every action that he did. He was constantly afraid of screwing something up so much that he would just freeze in certain situations. Like completely tense all of his muscles, my man was so deer in headlights coded.

I think that he had multiple panic attacks growing up, but they didn’t think that they were panic attacks. They just thought it was him freaking out over little things because of stress. (Yes I am aware that panic attacks come from stress. I have very bad anxiety myself, but he grew up in the 80-90’s)

Like when he went on the turkey hunt with his dad, the moment the gun fired. He completely froze, dropping the gun into the snow blow him. Wondering if that animal had a family. He started stressing about it whenever he was eating it. How he would feel if his dad just never came home one day. He just had a panic attack right there at the table, thinking about his dad dying and never coming home.

Darryl would constantly bounce his leg because if he wasn’t moving he thought the world would end.

Like motherfucker should’ve been on meds. He got it from his grandpa i swear.

Welcome back to Paeden in D.A.D.D.I.E.S! If the last page was exploring the general vibe, this one is more about what he brings to the team! Who he gets along with, what he’s able to do, how he’s helped out in both mundane and mystical ways, and times when that might have backfired! Also strengthening his relationship with the Wilson family, both as Frank and Paeden.

Lined the words on the pages with pen to make them easier to see!!

Paeden and Grant’s relationship especially is growing on me. Paeden is Grant’s grandpa (through Frank), they’re cousins (cover story so he’s still connected to the family while being Walter’s son), and in a way, they’re brothers (through how Darryl often cares for Paeden the same way he does Grant). They’re also very different while being very similar when it comes to having an abnormal tie to violence. Paeden declares to the world that he wants to be violent, but he struggles to achieve it and often cracks when intimidated. Grant hates himself for what he can do, but no one can deny that he isn’t efficient. All of that is to say that Paeden probably had to learn to rein himself in so he wouldn’t be seen as a bad example to Linc.

Also I think it’d be funny if Paeden still bullied Nick for his prep/narc phase—

Thinking about just how disproportionately vindictive Willy seemed towards Glenn, even before the Deez Nuts joke. Like I feel the second half of season one really does a lot to show us how Willy feels about each of the dads.

Like Darryl's arc is more about how I feel Willy feels about Frank. Frank was the one omega daddy who didn't fall in line, didn't join him in his plan, who suggested that what they were doing was wrong, and he retaliates by making him a memory-less eight year old and ditching him in a fighting ring to get the shit beat out of him. If Willy makes Paeden an anchor on purpose, I think he sees it as a way to punish Frank and if Darryl gets messed up as well, then that's just a bonus.

Willy has almost nothing to do with Henry's arc, and I think that's because Bear and Willy are more symbiotic in what they can provide each other than Willy and Bill. Bear and therefore Henry and therefore the twins, are a way Willy can get the Doodler, but that's not a personal vendetta. The Oaks are a means to an end for Willy.

Then Ron is about how Willy doesn't care and that the root to severing his connection with Willy is something Ron has to pursue on his own without needing anything from his father to get it.

But then we have Glenn. Bill mentions that Willy is the one making him put Glenn on Trial, in a Talking Dads, Anthony said the plan if Bill had busted the daddies out of prison involved getting caught by Willy. Willy is the one who comes in for the final judgement. Willy is disproportionately and maliciously involved in Glenn's arc when compared to the other dads. And I asked myself...why?

I had a short lived thought that maybe Nick was the most annoying kid in Ravenloft, what with his "That's my dad!" about the drone, but that didn't check out, because we know that in the alternate timeline, Glenn still goes to prison (for being a bad friend or whatever) so it seems like if it was annoyance at Nick, it wouldn't have played out in the Nicholas timeline.

Eventually the answer was obvious.

Willy is the pettiest of bitches.

Killing Glenn over a Deez Nuts joke is something we already knew, but it goes deeper than that. Glenn wouldn't stop helicoptering his dick in the shared dream space, Glenn called him a boomer, Glenn pretended his own butt was Willy's face, and though Willy played it off like it didn't bother him at the time, this is the man that will go on to marry Cassandra Swift because he's mad about her ex-not-quite-father-in-law doing a Deez Nuts joke on him, of course those earlier things bothered him!
