Oh, about the hot dog...
...previously pictured in this post: (cc: @delgrosso) --

It's a Lithuanian hot-smoked sausage from a company called Samsonas, sold by one of our local groceries. ...We've also got franks from Herta. They're nice too, though a little lighter-flavored. I prefer the smoky ones. :)

...Most of the big grocery chains here do own-brand franks: and local butchers often make their own as well. Irish pork is super, and the local franks are really tasty. :)

A handful of hot dogs can turn any pedestrian casserole into a feast meant for a king.
If "King" is the name of your dog.

Frankfurter mummies and fingers for Halloween parties. Not much of a bake, as the only prep needed is cutting the joints for the fingers, thinly slice puff pastry, wrap the frankfurters with them and add mustard eyes. For older parties, I like to add ketchup for bloody effect, but this time it was for school parties. If you don’t use ketchup nails, only cut the nails out after baking for more realistic nails.
