Let Us Build A Nightmare Nation: Ersatz Freddy Krueger Jason Denison bringing impressionable tykes Louis and Suzanne Desjardins under his malign sway in this newspaper feature devoted to the dangers of '80s Slasher Movies. If you grew up during that period, then you'll recall that this type of hysteria whirling around the exposure to onscreen movie violence -- specifically, Horror Movie violence -- was quite pronounced, turning up on the nightly news, on the daytime talk show circuit, in newspapers, and at PTA meetings. I vividly recall having a teenage babysitter openly declare that I would be doomed to Hell for watching 1985's "Transylvania 6-5000" (!?). Note how the tableau depicted above had to be entirely staged in order to achieve the desired effect on readers. The two child models might as well be Lucy and Linus Van Pelt. I am curious how long they had the ad campaign rolling. I imagine it was a recurrent they had to go back to after an ensuing ad slogan failed.

I was going to take a break after Pat, because I know the best way to avoid separation anxiety is to leave something for later.

But then I found a doll that could, possibly, with some alterations, pass for Kitty. And then the doll that’s perfect for Kitty but terribly expensive went on 50% sale, so I thought perhaps I should keep going.

And then both these dolls turned out to be the wrong size. I've still got that weird Extra Mini doll that has almost the right proportions, but doesn't really look like Kitty. It also has beautiful hair (which priobably can't be wrestled into Georgian fashion), so now I don't know.

Furthermore, I really want to try out that pirate shirt design, which means Thomas.

I also have the perfect doll for Julian, but Julian is boring, outfit-wise. 

And I still don't have any idea what doll could possibly be made into the Captain.

I'm so going to have a breakdown once season 5 is over, aren't I? :’-(
