A few months ago my #God sent Mother said "Grasshopper ( thats what she calls me), its great that you want to #Empower the #pluscommunity but you need to go back to your roots... Go back to the babies.and she quoted " Its easier to build strong children than repair broken men"- #fredrickdouglas I had the honor of mentoring these beautiful young women at my Lil Sister, @llatasha25 's Teen Workshop Friday night in Chattanooga, Tennessee. We drove in to give them a #walklikehermodelandconfidenceclass Shout out to @pytmo for ALWAYS riding with me. I was sick as a dog and she was my voice ( literally) You are the best Sista. I don't think these Babies understand how much they lifted my spirits. I sooo needed their energy. Blessed to be apart of this workshop. I wasn't going to miss this. God made a way. Our Teens need us..Reach back and pull them up. #teenmodel #mentoring #Curvygirlworkshop #teens #teenspirit #teenambassador #KennedyG #dothework #buildyourowndoor #youngladies (at Chattanooga, Tennessee) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bo-g-I3FDbC/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=k49ytdpp70rg

He was beaten by an angry mob in 1843 but he was rescued by a Quaker family ( biography. com) In addition to the North Star, Douglass also produced abolitionist papers such as Frederick Douglass Weekly and New National Era. (Biography. Com) Douglass would go on to write best selling books including his autobiography Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave. (Biography. com) Douglass was invited to speak at the Seneca Falls convention where he argued that as a Black man, women also deserved to claim the right to vote (Biography.com) Slavery was outlawed by the ratified 13th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution Douglass would become the first African American to be nominated for Vice President of the United States for the Equal Rights ticket (with Victoria Woodhull) in 1872.
