Am I still vegan if I eat others left overs? I work and clean dishes at a non vegan restaurant I sometimes will take and eat if there is leftover form the plate, this food would have otherwise just go in the trash, yes I know it’s gross and unsanitary but money is a big struggle at the moment so if I can get a free meal that big money save that I need. All other food I buy and eat is vegan
Veganism is about doing whatever is possible and practicable to avoid animal exploitation, but only you know if you are doing that.
If you afford to not eat leftover animal products, then in my view you should avoid eating them. If these leftovers represent a necessity for you then that would be something you just did not have any real choice in, so whenever you did have the choice, you'd be buying and eating vegan. There are no easy black and white answers to situations like this, especially not when it comes to food poverty or accessibility.
If you are in a situation where you can't eat 100% plant-based right now, despite you doing everything reasonably in your power to do so, then you are still vegan without a doubt. But again, I am no kind of authority on that, only you know what is possible and practicable for you.

PALWORLD CRUELTY-FREE CHALLENGE
BASICS
No hurting pals
No using pals to hurt other pals
The only pal byproducts that can be used are ones abandoned by their pal (wool on the ground, etc) or the result of wild pal interactions (they fight each other, scavenge what's left)
ALLYING WITH PALS
As pals can be caught in palspheres, but can also resist palspheres, throwing a pal sphere at a pal that is both unharmed by status effects and fully aware of the sphere coming at them can be considered seeking consent. If an unharmed, status-free pal chooses not to resist the sphere, they are consenting to become a PALLY
Eggs can be incubated
PALLIES can be employed so long as they have full access to beds, food, and some form of breakroom and are free to slack off if they so choose
TRADE
No selling pals to the shifty man in the market
Pal products cannot be purchased, as products from the wandering merchant cannot be considered fair trade or ethically sourced; schematics and plants, etc are fine
HUMANS
Humans on the palpagos islands cannot become ALLIES, but may be caught, killed, used for labour, etc. They are not free of sin.

just added two locations to this today so i wanted to remind everyone about fallingfruit. it's a collaborative, community driven map of edible forage with pinpoints all around the world directing you to wild edibles growing in your area.
some places have more pins, some have less. if there's not many in your area and you know somewhere that wild forage grows, add it! you don't need an account and can remain completely anonymous while enabling others in your area to collect fresh food that may otherwise not be noticed or enjoyed by anyone, and you may find some spots where you live that you didn't know about before :)

It's time for an underrated character from an underrated show! Heinrich Mueller from "The Goode Family."
I seriously enjoyed this show; I found all the main characters really enjoyable and likable. But my favorite part was in "Freeganomics" when Heinrich shows up and gives his bombastic, pretentious rants to the meek and well-meaning Gerald. I loved seeing such an intent character play off such a meek one. You can tell the writers had a ball coming up with his pompous yet poetic & elegant speeches!
That episode is a good example of how this show was a counterpart to King of the Hill, where the antagonist is a morally grey figure who has funny flaws, while raising fair points. Also the voice actor did a terrific job with his intent German accent.
Traditional inks, digital color.

As promised...
in this previous posting regarding Danny Elfman’s more colorful nature https://at.tumblr.com/steamedtangerine/well-rolls-up-sleeveslooks-like-this-is-the/ra0a9p8o4uuf....
The following is taken from the March 1990 issue of Keyboard Magazine. For context, Elfman gave an interview for the same magazine back in October of the previous year where he confessed in having a very skimpy formal education in regards to music. In January 1990, One lofty and illustrious Micah D. Rubenstein, a theory & composition teacher at Ohio’s Kenyon College, somehow acquired a serious hair across his ass about Mr. Elfman’s admission and decided to send a chiding letter to the magazine where he accused Elfman of “promoting musical ignorance" and “taking shortcuts” and using his money to have Shirley Walker and Steve Bartek (who he perceived to be conservatory-trained) be the actual driving force in fleshing out the soundtrack compositions to such films as Batman.
The following is Elfman’s direct open letter to Rubenstein- a serious refutation to his attempts to attack Elfman’s street cred as an “established composer”....much of which seems to fall quite in place with submissions one finds in /r/MurderedByWords.

While it was typical dumb luck on my part to have happened upon this magazine scouring recycling bins for returnables (a Michigan thing)....I was far from alone, as there are internet blogs which took the painstaking task of typing out the actual text from above.

and if the orange on Black seems to “Halloween” for your tastes, here it is in bone while https://oingoboingouk.tripod.com/openletter.html

Some items I found last weekend ✨💕. All of them almost new. Crazy to think people buy these, use a couple of times (if any) and then they just throw in a bag and into the garbage 😩

#FreeganFebruary - the season of toast 🥖🍞 these are some of my #freegan toast meals so far.. there have been many! Did you know that bread is one of the most thrown out foods in the world? One of the reasons is that shops will proudly tell you that the bread is all baked fresh that day... Which inherently means that anything left at the end of the day can't be sold. When I was #dumpsterdiving more often there was always a full bag of bread in every bin. Consistently. Shops need to find a way to manage stocks to make sure there isn't this huge amount of waste. We also need to find better ways to deal with all the waste bread than just dumping it into (hopefully) compost or (realistically, often) landfill. Do you know any shops that sell yesterday's bread? What recipes do you use #stalebread in? #lessfoodwaste #foodwaste #zerowasteliving #zerowastedublin #zerowasteireland (at Dublin, Ireland) https://www.instagram.com/p/CoslDWrshA7/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
