John Parker, other Gaza solidarity activists detained in Cairo, Egypt
Nov. 30: John Parker, a candidate for California’s 37th congressional district, is being detained by the Egyptian National Security Agency, along with other participants in the Global Conscience Convoy in Cairo, initiated by the Egyptian Syndicate of Journalists.
He was taken into custody along with others when the group unfurled a banner that read “From the River to the Sea, Palestine Will be Free.” Parker and other detainees from Argentina, Australia and France have yet to be released.
John Parker stated: “The Palestinian people desperately need food, fuel, water, medicine and aid.  The Rafah crossing must be opened so that people of the world can get needed supplies to the Palestinian people. Anything less contributes to Israel’s criminal genocide.”
Parker is a founding member of the Los Angeles based Harriet Tubman Center for Social Justice and a reporter with Struggle-La Lucha.  He traveled to Cairo to be a part of the Global Conscience Convoy for Gaza.
The Embassy of the United States is aware and informed of the detention. The Harriet Tubman Center for Social Justice, Struggle-La Lucha and the Peoples Power Assembly are demanding the U.S. embassy seek Parker’s release and that Egyptian authorities release all four detainees immediately.
Contact the U.S. Embassy in Egypt, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Egyptian consulates in the U.S. to demand the release of all those detained.

💃🏾🙌🏿#ArtIsAWeapon #FreedomDance tonight!! Reposted from @lumumbabandele #FreedomDance is back! This isn’t a rally, meeting, conference, or convening. We gather to celebrate our victories, recommit, re-energize and dance! Join us Nov 5th, @peoplesforumnyc, NYC. • Every first Saturday of November, we gather to honor the sacrifices of our incarcerated freedom fighters and our victories. Over the past few years we have welcomed home over 10 freedom fighters who spent decades in prison. Most recently, May 25th of this year we welcomed home #SundiataAcoli. We take a minute to pause, breathe, dance, raise some money and celebrate. This is not a rally or a meeting. This is a time for us to acknowledge the victories, re-energize and recommit ourselves to freeing the remaining political prisoners here in the US. BREAKING: Palestinian political prisoner Khalil Awawdeh IS FREE after 182 days on hunger strike! Israel imprisoned Khalil without charge or trial, and following global outrage, Israel will finally release him. His strike of nearly 6 months was one of the longest of any Palestinian imprisoned by Israel. We are moved by his resistance in the face of unjust detention without charge or trial and overjoyed that he will return to his family. “He has lost more than half his body weight. As he took his first sip of tea this evening, Khalil saluted the Palestinian people.” - @yarahawari We echo the call of Khalil himself and Palestinians around the world for the end of administrative detention and the freedom of ALL Palestinian political prisoners in Israeli jails. Onwards! Until Return & Within Our Lifetime! No matter what it takes ✊🇵🇸 ‎#الحرية_لخليل_عواودة ‎#لا_للاعتقال_الاداري #freekhalil #freekhalilawawda #freeThemAll (at Palestine - فلسطين) https://www.instagram.com/p/Ch8Pp1PssyH/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Posted @withregram • @laresistencianw “Alternatives to Detention” program, also known as the Intensive Supervision Appearance Program, or ISAP, and the harmful impacts digital surveillance has on the mental health and livelihoods of immigrants and asylum-seekers. For years, immigrant justice advocates have fought against the U.S. government’s use of surveillance technology for immigration enforcement, which they say is not an alternative to detention, but rather an extension—a digital prison. As of April, over 227,000 people were enrolled in ISAP—more than double the number when President Biden took office. His administration has requested $527 million in funding for fiscal year 2023 to sustain and grow the program—an $87 million increase from this year’s budget. There’s also been mounting concerns from advocates over privacy violations, the mass collection of personal data, and what ICE and corporations are doing with that information.” #nodigitalprisons #notechforice #freethemall #abolishice https://www.instagram.com/p/CeWlhwxJdbLBLtamX-Y5ilFQJdJHNx-D8aYC_Y0/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

On Palestinian Prisoner's Day, RNN affirms that there is no liberation without the freedom of all our prisoners from the prisons of the zionist entity and Palestinian Authority! #FreeThemAll
Our prisoners—the bone marrow of our liberation movement—are facing escalating zionist repression at this moment at the hands of fascist Itamar Ben-Gvir and the racist zionist entity.
They are abducted and abused in the prisons of the occupation because their ideas are a threat. Our prisoners are not innocent, not only because of what they have done, but because of what they are capable of. They have demonstrated their capabilities to educate, resist, and unify workers, women, and refugees in the revolutionary struggle against the entity.
This ability is the real threat to the security of the fragile zionist entity. The efforts made by our prisoners that threaten the occupation should be celebrated, not victimized. The prisoners' struggle is the spearhead of resistance. No one confronts the occupation more than them, as they do it in every moment and action.
Our movement grows stronger because of their struggle from the darkness, and their imprisonment is a testament to the strength of the struggle.
Free them all!

On Palestinian Prisoners’ Day the BDS movement calls on supporters to escalate #BoycottHP now! HP Enterprise provides servers, data storage and data security services for Israel’s prisons, where Palestinian political prisoners and child prisoners are held hostage in inhumane conditions and are often tortured.

🚨 The zionist court in Al-Quds has handed down a 12-year prison sentence to the imprisoned minor, Nufuz Hammad (16 years old), from the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in Al-Quds. Additionally, a fine of 50,000 shekels (approximately 13,000 dollars) was imposed.
Nufuz was arrested by the occupation on December 8, 2021, from her school. She is the youngest female prisoner in the occupation's jails.

New Orleans: International Workers’ Day - Legalization for All!
Monday, May 1 - 5:00 p.m.
Gather at Basin St. & Conti St. near the Benito Juarez statue
March to City Hall
On May Day, Show Solidarity with Migrant Workers Alongside millions of others around the world, we will be in the streets on May 1 to push forward the struggle for workers’ rights.
This May Day we march especially for the rights of our migrant brothers and sisters here in Louisiana.
Whether on farms or in construction, in the home or in hospitals, clinics, etc., migrant workers carry society on their backs. Yet millions of our migrant siblings suffer from low wages, workplace abuses (including the threat of detention or deportation), and from the denial of basic social benefits like food stamps, housing subsidies, and healthcare coverage. All while they pay billions in taxes every year.
Never content with the billions in profits they get from unpaid labor of workers, the capitalists are ramping up the exploitation and racist scapegoating of our migrant siblings. Biden is moving to revive the policy of caging families in horrific ICE prisons, where immigrants can now be held indefinitely according to a recent ruling by the Supreme Court. Congress is considering a bill to cut the already criminally low wages of farmworkers. Candidate-for-governor and Attorney General Jeff Landry is threatening immigrant rights groups and trying to whip up anti-immigrant hatred while he rakes in millions from the exploitation of migrant workers.
A united working class fightback is needed to push back the capitalists and their paid off politicians.
Join us on May 1 5PM at Basin and Conti St. (at the Benito Juárez statue)Fight for Workers Rights, Demand Legalization for All
#NoOneIsillegal #FreeThemAll #WorkersOfTheWorldUnite #AbolishICE #elpueblounidojamasseravencido #LegalizationForAll #BuildBridgesNotWalls #Not1More#WorkersRights #solidarity
