#they should invent a grad school thats not fucking insane #i'm hanging in there but im the most unwell i've been in AWhile #this week was just horrible #there was already the freezer food incident but it also started off with a very severe pain episode thats putting me in constant woe #even mundane motion has been agonizing which is McAwesome bc we had a lab inspection which involved moving hundreds of pounds of equipment #during which we found a blackwidow and rats which we had to deal with and was a whole thing psychologically on top of the physical toll #the new class fiasco is still popping off and i had to respond to at this point over 400 emails in the fleeting moments outside of lab #AND A STUDENT TRIED TO FINANCIALLY BRIBE THEIR WAY INTO THE CLASS ? ?? ?? ????? #then the instructor wanted to use me as a guinea pig and i had to test new circuit boards but I wasnt given any time to do so properly #i had to test them plus get them operational and deal with my incoming students all in a frantic 10 minute window #im in charge of running our meetings too but the instructor was interrupting and having side conversations that made it really hard- #to train the other people on the new equipment in a smooth manner #which meant that a bunch of people had to keep me after to ask questions which made me late for my drs appointment #where i found out i cant get the new covid vaccine bc my heart and blood levels arnt stable enough #and joanns lost an expensive+critical fabric order of mine+i had to give a big presentation this week on my research that was stressful #and my inbox is still blowing up from being needed all over the place between teaching lab and classes and yall i am. so so tired. #im in so much pain and so stressed out #debating the ethics of turning into a pile of lint to escape my responsibilities and mortal frame

I made a really disgusting soup this week because several years ago my mom bought these sliced... beet artichokes? I dunno. anyway #they were forgotten in the basement freezer and when I moved I decided to bring them with me and see if they could be eaten #and you can (usually) make a really nice soup with them and potatoes etc but problem 1 was that they were not properly cleaned #and since they had been frozen I saw no clear way to like. fix them. so I popped them in the pot thinking it would all boil apart anyway #and here comes problem 2 - it's all supposed to be blended with that hand mixer thing you know? but I had forgotten it while moving #so I only had my electric whisk available for like 1 kg of root vegetables and almost 2 l liquid all needing to be crushed together #and I could not do it in the pot because it might damage the glaze or whatever so I stood there scooping everything into a bowl #and then tried to whisk it together into a smooth soup with my little electric whisk. I shall tell you that this was not a good idea. #anyway so I have been eating this lumpy yellow-grey mess with bits of peel in it and while writing this I still have three more days to go #every evening has been me going 'if you eat it you can have something nice after ok? don't look at it just swallow...' #and two weeks before this I made a really lovely fake palak paneer and it was a week of bliss and I suddenly started writing a lot #and after that came this soup #it's fine. it's fine. I would be hard pressed to cook anything worse than this for next week. so it's fine.

i wish i wasn’t capable of physically feeling the presence of someone in a building even when i can’t see them. i know i sound insane but theres like 4-5 people i have a psychic connection with whether i like it or not. im sitting in a cafeteria with like 100 ppl n im by a hallway that leads to a door on the side of the building n someone will go in or out every 5 minutes or so n you know bc its a loud squeaky door. n like the 7th time i heard it open the guy i had planted myself here specifically to say hi to i had the impression it was him before he even like emerged from the enclosed area. and it was of course. its almost annoying i dont want to be so aware

#i heard it n my body language started shifting n i was like oh it must be him bc im having an involuntary response n it wassss #happens with a guy i work with too he’s never consistent on when he shows up but i still can feel whether or not hes in the building #or ill get like. this is REALLY strange but sometimes i close my eyes n i get flashes of visuals or sound #like im seeing or hearing from another persons perspective #so one time i was in the shower n i got a flash of a certain song that i only hear in the store n i saw a bit of the freezer section #n i was feeling bold n strange so i texted the guy like are they playing this song right now #n he said . yes why n i just ignored it i wasnt about to explain i had a brief experience where i could see through his eyes. #smells too the smells are the most intense indicator that my mind is recieving input from someone elses senses #idk if ive told all my psychic smell stories though #ofc reading the story its more likely that the song just popped into my head as a random thought bc i am familiar with every single song #they play in the store and i know what time he stocks frozen stuff #but its more fun for me to believe i can briefly look through the eyes of another person. for some reason i find this enjoyable
