In my last post I explained how I am in need of someone to read over my final essays for the semester. I finished and submitted my English finals and as of now I am in the process of writing for French, philosophy, and theology.

For my French final, I have to write an essay regarding my experience with COVID and how it impacted my life, and this essay has to be submitted to the American Journal of French Studies in order for me to receive full credit. Since we have ✨anxiety✨ I would really like someone to look over my French paper before I submit it to both my professor and the writing competition, preferably someone who is at an advanced or native level.

I promise to keep you guys posted on my submission to the AJFS, even though I highly doubt I will win. I still think this opportunity is fantastic because even if I don’t win, my submission is still going to be published in this journal 😮.

If you are willing to help, please message me!! I will take all the help I can get ❤️

|| 12.02.20 || academic/life update! So I’m dropping comp lit as it doesn’t really fit my long term plans. I’m hoping to graduate with a BA in French, a minor in korean, and a teaching certificate (hs level)! For the longest time my two dream jobs were translator or hs teacher, and after taking a translation course this term and figuring out more about what is the best choice for me, my end goal is to teach french! I’m beyond excited. Next term I’m taking my first two ed classes so there’s that to look forward to. Anyways how are y'all doing?? hope all is going well if your term is ending soon like mine:D

Merci d’avance

Day 1 of @myhoneststudyblr Winter Studying Challenge!

Q: Do you like winter?

A: I have a love/hate relationship with the winter. I love being able to wear winter clothing like sweaters and fuzzy socks and I enjoy the holiday season but I hate being cold! I’ve lived my whole life in SE United States and even tho it gets pretty cold here, I’ll never get used to it.

Also having a small dog and living in an apartment = walking dog multiple times a day in freezing cold so that might just push me completely into disliking it lol :///

Today I have made around 130 flash cards for my 6 week French review and I’m happy to be getting off to a strong start! I’ve also been working on my Geology final study guide because my final is Friday but I’m not too worried about it. Hopefully things continue to go smoothly but that is all for now folks.

(Le 1e de) Dec 1st - Do you like winter?

Yes and no.

Yes because I love when I can watch snow falls with a cup of hot chocolate, when the world seems to stop. The world’s really pretty like that.

No because it’s cold. And the ground is wet. Oh, I hate it. I loved when I could wear shorts and crocs, but now? I have to wear pants and winter boots and three coats :/

Eh, that’s life.

After a couple hours of planning and making a study schedule for reviewing French over the break, I am FINALLY done! Now I can get to the actual studying part lol.

+I wanted to make this plan for the holiday break because I’m taking French conversation and French theater next semester so I need to be prepared.

+I underestimate how much I have retained over the years of learning the language but I think doing a refresher will help make me feel more confident when getting into harder/longer conversations and material.

*I’m using a couple different French textbooks so that’s why it is set up the way it is. I thought following along with books and their exercises would be the easiest way to set it up without making completely new lesson plans on my own. If you wanna know which ones I’m using just lmk*

Oh and btw the second pic is a painting I did last year, the colors I used in the excel spreadsheet reminded me of it. :,)

Anywho, this is what I’ve been up to lately. Have a great day theydies and gentlethe!!🤠

Weekly update #2

This week started with my country’s government announcing a second lockdown. At the moment, I’m kind of enjoying this but I know that it’ll be getting on my nerves soon. Anyways, let us enjoy and live in the moment. I decided to take a week’s break from studies since the midterm exams are now to be taken in January after the winter break. So this week I:

  • tried taking all my online classes (but I still missed 3 but it is what it is)
  • started reading To the Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf
  • started learning French from the beginning again (and hoping to be more punctual in learning it)
  • downloaded a lot of resources for French and went through them
  • found a lot of useful websites (like spotalike, languagetool, onelook etc)
  • discovered some really cool songs (also if anyone wanna suggest some French songs I’d be so grateful)
  • celebrated my mom’s birthday
  • finished Love 101 (it was sooo good)
  • watched Violet Evergarden special episode (since I loved the serie and it made me cry so much) and Atonement (it was so full of dark academia vibes therefore I loved it)
  • did a bonfire with my siblings and cousins
  • went on a lot of drives through out the week with my siblings

It was an overall enjoyable week and made me feel grateful for whatever I have in life. I’m thankful for where I am right now and I’m looking forward for so many things in life.

P.S. can anyone else feel Wintery sad vibes creeping out from the corners?

🎶: Anson Seabra - Emerald eyes (this song reminds me of a trip i had with my family an year back and it makes me feel so nostalgic and sad and happy because that trip was so good)

Have a wonderful week ahead ♡

I’ve tried a few times to maintain some semblance of a diary and it’s… difficult. It feels like a waste, but maybe that will change if it’s also language practice?

alors, voici une tentative.

My French vocabulary isn’t very extensive, so I’ll be relying on google translation for a lot of it, which…. F. But hopefully as I pick up vocabulary I’ll have to rely on that less and less, and maybe even understand where the mistakes are. le progrès.

(Is that how that works? You can d’ just about anything, right?)
