@chirpchirrup submitted: Here's a freshly peeled angel, from when local brood emerged a couple summers ago. About 20 minutes passed between photos. She worked hard filling out those wings!
Ohhhh wow this is a SUPER freshly peeled angel. She did a spectacular job she is so beautiful in the second photo. Those wings! Stunning

@defender-of-wilderness submitted: Yesterday I got to see a Brood X cicada emerge! Even though I live in a place that gets lots of cicadas every year, I’ve never seen one emerge before. This little friend managed to work its way out after a few more minutes.
An angel!!! Caught in the middle of peeling. Adorable, I love them. Hope they get to live a nice cicada life and make one million babies that will emerge in 17 more years....

@punklesbiancherry submitted: I thought you might like this freshly emerged cicada I found in my yard a few days ago! This was my first time seeing one in person, and I saw my first shell just about a week before this! I love the green wings and the big eyes!
Like??? I love this freshly peeled angel with my whole heart. They’re so pretty right after emerging, what a great find. Thank you for sharing your friend!

@xiolaperry submitted: Hi! Love your blog and wanted to send in my photo- taken in south eastern PA. Thanks for all the great info that you share.
Wow! This is a great photo of a freshly peeled angel emerging from their old outfit. I’m afraid to say which species, so mystery cicada will have to do. I love them, though. Thank you for sharing! :)

@chapstickbrandchapstick submitted: Found this cicada friend in northern California last summer - they landed on my yoga mat outside to molt and I rudely disturbed them by accident! Such an unforgettable experience watching the molt and wing expansion :)
FRESHLY PEELED ANGEL ALERT. It’s my dream to watch one molt in person. Some day....

@thechadinuyasha submitted: This cool cicada had a slightly different use for my butterfly bath! But when I filled it a bit, an unseen gray leafhopper of some kind appreciatively started drinking!
Ohhh!!! An angel, freshly peeled. I’m in love with cicada and also the nice grey hopper friend. Thank you so much for sharing 🖤

@furbytwunk submitted: The second I saw your submissions were open I rushed to type this out, but about a week or two ago my hisser molted and I took this picture that i thought you might enjoy, lil dude was so interested in my cracker he just had to figure out what it was!
Lol let him have the cracker!! He deserves it after all the hard work of molting. What a beautiful, freshly peeled angel...

@umbrellas-on-bridges submitted: Re: albinism in insects, this isn’t a case of that of course, but I was reminded of these pics of a freshly-molted caddisfly larva I found a few years ago in Colorado during research! It was the first time I had seen one, and I was so shocked at how pale it was (these specific larvae are usually quite dark and mottled). Very cute friend !
Oh this is the BEST. A freshly peeled angel in their sleeping bag. 🖤

@all-fandoms-are-gay submitted: Cicaida friend!
Thank you for letting me know where they were found in your other message! Looks like a very freshly peeled angel with those bright green wings. Likely a northern dog-day cicada, or at least in Neotibicin :)
