One of my favourite things is to randomly give one of my deities something without any prompt or push to do so. Just something super small like a piece of chocolate from my snack. Just the excitement and anticipation of how they may react is my favourite thing. It makes me feel like a child giving their favourite person a random flower they picked. It just feels so good and makes me feel so happy.

Freyja, I think about you every day.
When I wear rose quartz and amber,
When I read a beautiful and empowering post,
When I see a flower sprouting up between concrete slabs,
I see you in all things beautiful, seductive, and powerful.
I see you, Freyja, in the fight against injustice.
I see you in the light that shines through the glass of my front door causing rainbows.
I hear you in my favorite feminist songs like Delilah Bon’s music.
I love you Freyja. You are truly a blessing in my life.
Yours truly, Velvet Rose 🍓🪴🔮🧡🗡️✨🐈💗

Ppl: what about you?
Me: oh, I'm pagan- norse, mainly.
Ppl: oh OK. What does that mean exactly? Like who is your god?
Me: I worship the pantheon at large, but currently have a space on my altar for Odin and Freyja.
Ppl:
It feels like in CONCEPT most people are alright enough with paganism, even if they think it's strange, but I've found (frustratingly) that the second I ACTUALLY MENTION the Gods or my practice people just shut off, often into assumptions of the Gods as pop culture figures.
MY GODS ARE NOT NEW. THEY ARE NOT A JOKE OR SOMETHING CREATED FROM TIKTOK TEENAGERS OR MARVEL MOVIES OR BOOKS OR WEBCOMICS.

“Freya” by Morgan Daimler (A Full Review) ✨✨✨
Rating: 5/5 stars.
-I like how Morgan Daimler separates her own experiences into their own paragraphs after stating the general unbiased and scholarly information.
-She does reference lots of sources, mostly scholars, but also the Eddas, Sagas, and physical historic evidence.
-Man does she love including Rudolf Simek’s hot takes on things. I had to look him up. But yeah. Keep that in mind. If you hate Simek you’ll probably get annoyed by all the siting of his works. I’m neutral cause I haven’t found problems so far with his opinions so it didn’t bother me.
-Love how Morgan Daimler gets into the details of theories like the Frigg = Freya theory (which I personally don’t subscribe to) and the Gullveig = Freya theory (which I actually do believe).
-You can tell Daimler put a ton of time making sure to carefully research, and also was in tune with the opinions of modern heathenry circles.
-It’s a short read, so great for my ADHD. And also it makes sense it’s short because the information that’s credible on Freya isn’t very much. So she didn’t waste pages trying to reach a word count. Concise! Very well written. Only one typo, and it’s easy to understand what Daimler meant by the context of the rest of the sentence!
-I give it 5/5 for all these reasons, but also as a devotee of Freya, it made me happy to see someone not portraying her through Wiccan tinted lenses.

people do realize that Norse pagan mythology was not invented by marvel, right?
Loki, Thor, Freyja, Hel, Odin and many others are actual deities that many pagans still worship to this day -myself included-. And it's quite disrespectful to downside them to simple marvel characters.

"That's my Frigg. I forgot how good you look with wings"🍂

I'm sorry, but I'm just stuck thinking about Freya right now and how much I love her.
She's been a part of my practice since September 2020 and she's never left. She taught me to love myself while navigating a chronic illness I developed only a few months prior to her entering my life. I had absolutely no interest in deity work before meeting her. She came to me through a dream and I've never stopped thinking about her.
Every time I see amber, she's there. Every time I see a cat or a bunny, she's there. Every time I feel loved or I feel sexy, she's there.
She's taught me so much self-love and self-care, it's crazy. I had the hardest time feeling attractive in my own body, and she's helped me build more confidence in myself. She's also taught me to stand up for myself.
I just can't get enough of her. I just love her so much. She's taken on a motherly role for me (she is okay with it, I have talked about it with her) and she's taught me so, so much. She's one of the best things to ever happen to me.
To Freyja, as you fill my heart with your presence, I will never have to feel unloved or alone ❤️🌹🪶🐞🐈

A SHORT PRAYER TO FREYJA
She who weeps amber, She who weeps gold. May She walk with me, as my fate unfolds.
Freyja the loving, Freyja the wise, may She bless us, every sunrise.
She who is true strength, who beauty defines. May She be with us, by our sides.
-Velvet Rose
This is my prayer but feel free to reblog it and use it in your practice!
