Fried potatoes!
Ingredients for one person:
3 Boiled potatoes that have cooled to cold
Butter or oil for frying
Soy sauce
Salt and black pepper to taste
How to:
Melt big glob of butter in a pan over medium heat
Crack pepper into pan and add a few splashes of soy sauce
Cut potatoes into quarters and then slices. You can do this on a cutting board and transfer or just use a butter knife and cut in the air and dump it directly in the pan
Stir well so the butter and soy sauce and pepper gets on all potato slices
Sprinkle salt and stir again
Let sit for a few minutes and stir again
Repeat step 6 for as long as you feel like it and desired crispiness has been achieved
Can be kept warm in pan on stove at lowest heat setting
Ideas to make it more interesting:
Fry some bacon dices in the pan before the potatoes and just use the bacon fat instead of some of the butter
Make fried eggs in the potatoes. Just move the potatoes to the side and crack you egg into the space that's been cleared. Maybe add some more butter to the spot first
Eat with apple sauce (this is better than it might seem)
Eat with steak
Make it using raw potatoes. You need a lid for your pan for this to work and a tiny bit more salt
Add garlic or onions to it for more aromatic potatoes
Use any other flavor of fat
Add other spices you like

Are hashbrowns an American thing or do y'all have them in Europe etc as well?
And nb4 potential confusion starts - I do mean hashbrowns-as-hashbrowns, not similar foods like latkes!
