loll i bought clip studio on sale but i havent drawn anything in it because i cant find a good dupe of my sai brush

2. Is it easier to draw someone facing left or right (or forward even)

hmm i guess left!

3. What ideas come from when you were little

lol every time i draw self insert im just feeding my inner 12 year old

4. Fav character/subject that's a bitch to draw

rosiers moth form.......... i love him sooo much but i need to try redesigning that form... also im trying SO hard to learn how to draw bloodhound but they have so many fucking Pieces to their design😭

5. Estimate of how much of your art you post online vs. the art you keep for yourself

i would say i post a good majority of the art i make!! ive gotten worse at it in recent years, mostly because i keep wanting to save things to post at "peak hours" or whatever but i always forget lmfao. i dont usually keep things to myself intentionally

6. Anything that might inspire you subconsciously (i.e. this horse wasn't supposed to look like the Last Unicorn but I see it)

art that my friends make always inspires me the more i see from them! mostly in little ways that only i really notice lol

7. A medium of art you don't work in but appreciate

traditional painting is sooo nice... i especially love gouache... i like when traditional painters dont blend their work and use a ton of different colors as well. also people who draw traditionally and put stickers all over their work, i think that's phenomenal

8. What's an old project idea that you've lost interest in

oh god so many lol. one that comes to mind is i was going to make a little animatic with a tiktok sound of my dnd party but uh. one character died and the other two belong to people im no longer friends with due to two separate falling outs 😬

9. What are your file name conventions

i usually name them based on whats happening in the drawing! or just the character's name, if ive only drawn them once. i also have all my art sorted into folders by subject matter (commissions, dnd, ocs, etc) and by date

10. Favorite piece of clothing to draw

hmmm.... probably long sleeve tshirts/sweaters.... regular jeans can be fun too

11. Do you listen to anything while drawing? If so, what

ohh lots of things. i have a drawing playlist on youtube thats got a couple hundred videos on it, i also have a ton of spotify playlists. i either listen to something that fits the vibe of what im drawing, or something that will motivate me to stay in the zone lol

12. Easiest part of body to draw

usually just in my room! one of the best parts of having a laptop tbh is that i can just draw digitally in my room instead of using the computer in the living room

hmm. thats hard to say! maybe designing characters? i like to think that im pretty alright at making diverse characters, and i do enjoy it when they’re finished, but it takes soooo much of my brain power to do it lol. i love having little guys that i made but its so hard to make little guys!

17. Do you eat/drink when drawing? if so, what

not really tbh KJSHDF i tend to uh forget to eat or drink for long periods when im in The Zone.....dont be like me. have some orange slices

18. An estimate of how much art supplies you've broken

NONE haha digital 4life. i dont use screen tablets so my tablets last foreeeeever.

hmmm i cant think of anything. i Can shade black, which my bf struggles with, but its not something i need to do often lol

i love hyper-stylized art and lineless super colorful art!! theres probably more, thats just off the top of my head

22. What physical exercises do you do before drawing, if any

none 😬 i rawdog it... i do some wrist stretches afterward most times tho

23. Do you use different layer modes

a little bit! mostly overlay + multiply on low opacity. i put them over a finished drawing to make the colors more cohesive!

24. Do your references include stock images

25. Something your art has been compared to that you were NOT inspired by

steven universe omg. like MAYBE back in 2015 or something it contributed to the way i use shapes a little bit but??? like i love the show, ive made fanart n shit! it just didnt contribute to my art style and i used to get that comparison A Lot

26. What's a piece that got a wildly different interpretation from what you intended

i cant think of one! i dont really do conceptual stuff so theres not usually a ton of room for misinterpretation

27. Do you warm up before getting to the good stuff? If so, what is it you draw to warm up with

sometimes i do! my go-to doodles are fried eggs and little cartoony heads, but a warm up for me can even be a fully lined drawing lol

28. Any art events you have participated in the past (like zines)

i participate in art fight every year!! ive been playing since 2018 :)

29. Media you love, but doesn't inspire you artistically

i think all media i love inspires me artistically!! even if it doesnt contribute to my art or anything, anything i love i spend a lot of time thinking about

30. What piece of yours do you think is underrated

um most of them imo AKLJSDHFSJ but thats the price of doing mostly oc art lol... people simply will not see your stuff

Music is my savior (Part 12)

Author note : Hello my beauties !!! This week is very special for me as I’ve prepared a very Deaky Birthday, but Thursday is Thursday so part 12 is here !! I hope everybody is enjoying life !!! As always thanks for reading and a huge thanks for the support and feedback, I deeply appreciate it !! And in case you did not know, I love you sis, #1 fan !!

Summary : Reader had been chosen to be bassist on the Bohemian Rhapsody set. Reader’s journey carries on as she get to actually work on the set with everyone, and she gets more responsibilities. After a little trouble with a colleague, some entertainment with friends, the accomplishment of a special project, reader’s having fun…. But for how long? Feelings are coming reader’s way….

Part 12 : You’re my best friend

You woke up in the middle of the night in studio 39, in your bed, fully dressed. You looked around you and tried to remember why, as it was not normal and as you never drank alcohol, you were sure you would not have done something stupid. You looked at the alarm clock on your bedside table. 3.51 am. You closed your eyes but as you had just waken up because of a stupid dream with flying unicorns, your ideas were still confused. You tried to reach for your mobile, but it was nowhere to be found. You had no choice but to get up, even if the pillow was still very attractive, even if it was fully dark in your bedroom.

You arrived in the open space and spotted the little led of your mobile, indicating you had received a message. As you unlocked it, the full light came to your eyes and it blinded you for several secondes. When you eventually could see again, you grumbled a little when you understood it was nothing but a spam. You turned the torch you had on your mobile and saw a note on the coffee table, just next to an empty bucket of fried chicken. It was hastily written and it said ‘I just could not wake you up, so I took you to bed. I ate all the chicken, sorry. See you tomorrow. Love, Joe the fabulous unicorn.’

You laughed at the signature Joe had written, and remembered the fantastic purple unicorn pyjamas he was wearing. Now your thoughts were a bit more organised, you could not help but smile, imagining him walking back home in this outfit. You also understood why flying unicorns were present in your dream. Then, you wondered how he took you to your bed, as a sleeping person was certainly quite hard to move. Yet, this interrogation had to wait a few hour to be answered, because it was the middle of the night, and even if your amount of work was now reduced, you still wanted to give your best on this set. So you put your pyjamas on, set your alarm clock and got to sleep.

The following morning, you woke up very well rested. You took a shower and tidied up a little because you hated to leave studio 39 in the morning to come back in the evening to find it had not cleaned by itself. This day, you were supposed to work with Kevin, mostly for post production purposes. You took your badge and your bass and left, glad you could spend the day with someone who had good knowledge about amps.

The incident with Kevin seemed to have happened ages ago and now Jack had given him some of your responsibilities, it was very pleasant to work with him. Sometimes, you thought the two of you made a very strange pair, but it was working very well. Kevin was very talented and his skills concerning amps handling was very impressive. As for you, your instrument was your best friend and music was running in your veins. As a result, the two of you ended up doing a really great job, Kevin shining with technical issues and you excelling at producing the best sounds with your bass. It sounded silly when you thought about it this way but it was as if the a tiny part of the talents of Deaky had spitted between the two of you. It was an stupid idea, but it made you smile.

You were standing up with your bass and Kevin was on the floor trying to adjust the amp.

“This one is giving me a hard time”, he told you. “What is your problem, hum? Talk to uncle Kev, it’s alright….”, this time speaking to the amp.

“If the two of you need space, I can leave. Maybe it will be more private if there’s only the two of you….”, you jokingly told him.

“Ahah, no sorry. I try not to get irritated. I’m sure bad energy will contaminate it….”, he carried on, very seriously, still looking inside the amp.

“I know I’m no expert at all, but if I can do anything to help, just tell me….”, you told him, as you were merely waiting with your bass in your hands.

“Actually, yes you can help me. Would you please go to the room where we keep all the electrical stuff? I need a soldering iron, I think the loudspeaker is disconnected, but I can’t drop the wire….”, he carried on, almost putting his head inside the amp.

“Sure”, you replied as you took your bass strap off and carefully put it on the floor. You went through the corridor, trying to find the right room, because even if you could open almost every door thanks to your badge, you did not want to waste time.

“Ah ah”, you said out loud in front of the right door. You scanned your badge, and opened the door, but someone pushed you inside, taking you by surprise.

You heard the door closing behind you and turned around in the very small space left in the tiny room full of electrical stuff.

“What the hell?”, you started to say, but you could not finish your sentence as the man who was in the room with you put his hand on your mouth, hardly allowing you to breath.

“Ushhh, she will hear us.”, he said. You knew this voice. As the room was still in the dark, you squinted and eventually recognized Ben, who was looking at the door, attentively listening.

“Ben, I con’t breth”, you tried say, pushing his hand away.

“What?”, he whispered as he turned his head to look at you. “Oh, sorry, bub….”, he grimaced as he removed his hand from your face so you could breath again.

You put your hand on your chest, relieved but trying to calm down as you almost had a sheer heart attack. “What the hell, Ben? What is going on?”, you quite angrily asked him.

“Sorry, but this girl…. Sandy…. she’s following me everywhere…. and I needed to see you.”, he replied, still whispering and looking worried.

“Yeah, in the tiniest room in the world, pushing me like you’re about to kill me in the weirdest circumstances?”, you could not help but ask him, showing the mess around you.

“Yeah, this was not my best move, was it? Again, sorry, bub”, he told you.

“I’m working with Kevin right now, could we talk later….?”, you asked him.

“Yeah…. yeah sure”, he said, passing his hand in his golden hair. “Could I just do me a favor?”, he carried on.

“Sure, as long as we eventually get out of here….”, you smiled at him.

“Could I stay in studio 39 today? I don’t know where to hide….”, he was almost begging you.

“Hide? What? Why?”, you frowned at him.

“Action now, questions later, okay?”, he replied, looking nervous.

“Alright, then.”, you told him, giving him your keys.

“Thanks, bub.”. He kissed you on the cheek, partially opened the door to check the corridor and then disappeared, leaving you puzzled in the room.

You gathered your thoughts, picked the soldering iron and came back to Kevin, who was certainly wondering what took you so long.

“Sorry, I’ve eventually found the iron….”, you began but you did not finish your sentence as you saw Sandy standing in the room.

“Ah, cool thanks”, Kevin said, his head still in the amp, thus not seeing the furious look Sandy was giving you. You smiled at her, trying to act casual.

“Where’s Ben?”, she suddenly asked you as you were taking you bass from the ground.

“Hi, Sandy. Glad to see you too.”, you ironically told her. “And I’ve already told you, I’m not his mother. I don’t know his current position….”, you carried on with a smile.

She looked daggers at you and left without another word. You rolled your eyes and Kevin eventually emerged from the amp.

“What’s going on, with her? She almost stepped on me as she was looking for Ben in the room….”, he said.

“I’m not gonna lie, I have no idea….But, I’m not sure I like her….”, you sincerely replied.

Kevin looked at you and shrugged his shoulders. “Can you give it a try?”, he said pointing at your bass. You complied and smiled at the sound the amp was now making.

“Yeah, I knew it….”, Kevin said, dancing a little around the amp as you carried on playing so riffs, smiling at him.

At the end of the day, you came back to studio 39 quite quickly, hoping Ben was okay. You tried to open the door, but it was locked. You knocked on your own door then, wondering if this could get any weirder….

“Who is it?”, you heard from the other side.

“It’s me…. Y/N….”, you replied, still not believing you were almost asking permission to come back to your own place. Ben opened the door, took your arm and quickly pulled you him before he slammed the door behind you.

“Ben, calm down….”, you told him. “Take a deep breath and tell me what’s happening.”, you carried on as you invited him to seat in the couch. He closed his eyes, took a long inspiration and said:

“This girl…. Sandy…. Oh my god this date was a disaster…. She seemed nice and I thought it would be great to get to know her. But she’s starting to think I’m her boyfriend, she wanted us to sleep together right after diner…. I mean, do I look like this kind of man, some kind of gigolo….?”

“I see…. Ben, if you did not want to have sex with her, it’s okay. This is very personal. Make love implies two people and both have to give consent. If you did not agree, then period. Second, you’re one of the nicest man I have ever met. Physically speaking and from a very personal point of view, you are gorgeous, a very handsome young man. But, life is so much more than what you look like…. You’re so much more than this sexy body. You are kind, delicate, funny, friendly, attentive and considerate.”, you told him, taking his hand.

“I’m fed up, you know. I mean, really fed up….”, he replied.

“Why? Talk to me, Ben. What is the matter?”, you asked him.

“People only judge me by my body. I mean as an actor, this is great, but in everyday life, it’s exhausting. This girl did not even try to know me. They all do that….”, he confessed.

“Ben, look at me…. Have I done such a thing?”, you asked him, trying to catch his look. He raised his eyes, to meet yours, and frowned a little.

“You have not. That’s true…. Since I’ve known you, you’ve always been there for me, not matter what….”, he was realizing.

“See. All women are not Sandy. Let me give you an advice. Take your appearance as an advantage on what you want to do. It will lead you to other great roles and I know you love acting. Then use your fame for a good purpose. I don’t know, a charity for example. People will listen to you. Whatever cause is close to your heart. Just do it, and please leave those kind of people behind you. They are merely not worth it…..”, you advised him.

“Wow…. I’ve never thought about it that way.”, he smiled at you.

“And don’t play hide and seek with Sandy. Be clear with her, so that the atmosphere on the set come back normal.”, you said, laughing a little.

“Yeah, you’re right, I will….You’re truly someone special….”, he said after a short pause, still tenderly holding your hand.

“I’m not that special, Ben, I’m just older so I have a little more experience.”, you told him with a smile. “I’m glad you came to me for advice….”

“I could not think of anyone else. I’ve never been this confortable with someone…. It’s like a soul sister. Yeah, you’re my soul sister.”, he carried on, and you felt your cheeks were strongly blushing.

“I’m so glad our paths crossed. I feel like I’ve always known you…. Don’t you feel the same way?”, he asked you.

“I do, Ben.”, you sincerely replied.

“In fact, you make me think about this song of Queen, I can’t recall the title, though…”, he told you. “You know the one when he’s happy at home….”

“Ohhh, ‘you’re my best friend’, John Deacon wrote this one for his wife….”, you smiled, thinking about Deaky and his wife Veronica. But your smile faded as you started to think again about your own feelings. Ben noticed the change in your face.

“What is it, bub? Have I said anything?”, he asked you, his green eyes trying to reach yours.

“No…. It’s just, yesterday I realized….”, you started but you could not finish your sentence as his mobile rang.

“It’s Sandy. I’ve got to make things clear right away”, he said as he stood up to take the call.

As Ben was talking, you heard a familiar knock on your door and Joe came in.

Joe, as usual, collapsed on the couch next to you. He asked you about Ben and you explained him the situation. As Ben was ending his conversation with Sandy, you stood up to bring drinks. Ben came next to Joe.

“Sorry about all of this, mate”, Joe told Ben.

“Well, now things are clear, so it’s okay…. Relationships are sometimes complicated….”, Ben replied, shrugging his shoulders.

“So true…. My ex-girlfriend cheated on me with my best friend for almost a year….well ex best friend now obviously”, Joe said, very suddenly and for once very seriously. You put the drinks on the coffee table and looked at him, chocked. He looked at you with a faint smile, but this time, you could not smile back. You wondered how on earth it was possible to hurt such a nice man.

“Mate, I’m so sorry….”, Ben eventually said.

“Yeah, it’s been really hard, but you know…. Life goes on….”, he carried on, bending over to take a can of soda.

Ben and you exchanged a look, neither of you knowing what to say.

When Joe had arrived, you had mixed feelings. You were always glad to see him, but you wanted a moment alone with Ben. A moment alone with the one who was becoming your best friend. Just a moment to confess him the feelings you were sure you were starting to have. To confess him you were falling in love. But at this very moment, you merely felt terribly sad for Joe and ashamed you could sometimes be so selfish.

Do I get asks?: Never had any from what I remember. Maybe once I did. Idk.

Amount of sleep: In weekends, I sleep from 12 AM (1 AM or 2 AM depending what time I feel like sleeping) through 9 AM or even through 12 PM. So I guess I get like 9-12 hours of sleep? I also do this if I have no school days tomorrow or even a week of no school. In weekdays, my sleeping habit changes from 10 PM, 11 PM, or 12 AM (heck even 1 AM) through 6 AM or 7 AM, which means I usually get sleep for 8-9 hours.

Lucky number: Never had one.

What I’m wearing: Blue-gray + white plaid flannel pajama pants and a white sweatshirt that says “TEAM UNICORN” in pastel rainbow colors + silver trims with a hoodie that has a silver horn.

Dream job: Animator, illustrator, character designer, storyboard artist, concept artist, video game developer, and comic book artist.

Dream trip: Philippines, Japan, South Korea, maybe China, France, Italy, Germany, United Kingdom, Ireland, Iceland, Poland, Greece, Sweden, Finland, maybe Russia, Egypt, Madagascar, Australia, Brazil, Hawaii, India, Mexico, Canada, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Ohio, Nevada, Arizona, Texas.
