These of course are the more upbeat and catchy showstopper numbers that were often (with some exceptions) sung by the comic relief/sidekick characters and/or used in a lot of the marketing for these movies (Topsy Turvy for Huncback, Zero to Hero for Hercules, and Friend Like Me for Aladdin being the most notable examples).
"May the Bass be With You" volume 3: an original story told via Disney Cover music videos
I imagine that the fans of VoicePlay and Home Free among my followers probably already know about The Bass Gang, but I'm in the mood to share their most recent set of videos anyway. There is a story arc that spans across the four songs that only really makes sense if you watch them in order. So I'm posting them all in one place.
They usually do their videos remotely, via green screen. They were supposed to meet up in person, in the Czech Republic, for the first time this year, but Marwan Ayman, a young man from Egypt, got his visa denied at the last minute, so they had to scramble to figure out how to include him. .
Anyway, here (each of the songs were arranged by the person singing lead). Watch after the music ends on the first and second videos to follow the story.
Today's polish is GORGEOUS. The color is so rich and it's so shifty that I couldn't stop staring at my fingers. It was inspired by the Genie from Aladdin. This is Friend Like Me from Polished for Days.
Why is Aladdin the only Disney Princess movie to center around a male protagonist?
Aladdin is not categorized as a Disney Princess movie; it falls under the Disney Renaissance era and is part of the Disney Animated Classics lineup. The Disney Princess franchise is a separate marketing and media franchise that includes characters like Cinderella, Snow White, Ariel, etc.
Aladdin is unique in featuring a male protagonist, but it's not the only Disney film to do so. Other examples include "Hercules" and "Tarzan." The decision to focus on a male protagonist in certain films is likely based on creative choices and storytelling preferences rather than adhering to a specific formula. Each Disney movie is crafted to suit its individual narrative and thematic elements.
I missed Cover Monday last week, too much going on!
Now...is a Remix a Cover? Um...that's one for the philosophers. Enough original stuff got added here I am going to say it qualifies for my Cover Mondays. So there! :D
