Irondad fic ideas #151

There is a LOT of Iron Man merch out there. One day, Stark Industries comes out with a line of Iron Man themed night lights that look like arc reactors. The marketing? "For kids who are scared of the dark: Iron Man will protect you."

In completely unrelated news, a whole bunch of child abusers across the country have recently been arrested as a result of  anonymous tips to local authorities.

Bonus:

It's an open secret at some point. Teens who are being abused start buying the night lights. Hell, adults start buying them. Charities pop up to cover the cost for anyone who needs it. Kids who are newly safe often send their night lights on to others ("I'm not scared of the dark anymore," they say).

Even with all of this, nobody snitches to the media or government. They all know grown-ups tend to complicate and ruin precious things.

It helps that the night lights clearly can distinguish between different types of situations. Kids whose parents need mental health or addiction support suddenly find they're being contacted by free services that actually help. If ICE is a concern, the people knocking on the door are not cops but immigrant rights activists. Kids who are hungry get food. Families who need housing support coincidentally find it.

"Iron Man will protect you," indeed.

still boggles my mind that in the year 2024 most players still ignore anora's character just to reduce her to a lying backstabber, when she only goes against you if:

you reveal her identity to ser cautherine and howe's soldiers, defeating the entire purpose of her disguise and also ignoring what she told you literally one minute before about how they can't know she's escaping with you - thereby betraying her first

you ignore her completely in denerim after she asks you to come talk to her, and only show up to the landsmeet

you bring up loghain's fate, and when she tells you that she would rather him be spared if possible, you tell her to her face that her father has to die

I used to be able to juggle! I was in martial arts for years and years so I’m crazy good at spinning things around in my hands. I’m also double jointed! I can spin my elbows around most of the way and it freaks people out!

Ooh and I can also sort of pitch by voice to be deep and scary. It was a useful skill when I worked at a haunted house but I haven’t done it since.

8: Do you have any unusual fears?

Trypophobia if that counts? Something about it really really bothers me.

I don’t have most of the usual fears, I’m good with clowns and heights and stuff like that. Used to be really scared of spiders but thats sort of settled. I HATE puppets. Goosebumps scarred me for life and gave me pediophobia.

Proud: I have treated myself more kindly this year, allowing myself grace after making mistakes and making strides towards having a healthier relationship with myself. Good: I got a job before my old job was eliminated, so there was no gap in my income which was a huge relief.
