And I don’t even know what she looks like anymore. Yet the thought of her 14 year old face still makes my stomach turn in a way nothing else can

No one really talks about friendship breakups. They can be the saddest most heart-wrenching, gut-wrenching thing you’ve ever felt. One of the saddest parts about them is that you never really get over friendship breakups, but it does get better over time. It gets easier to deal with. You will eventually come to realize that it all happened for the best. It’s a really eye opening experience too because you realize your worth. You realize those people were hurting you or holding you back. You see where they were wrong and you may see your faults and where you were wrong. You’ll realize A LOT, you will grow and then you’ll be able to recognize the real people in your life, and that’s the best part

how can you be so unphased by my absence in your life?
was i nothing to you from the start? was losing me like shedding excess hair, painless and freeing?
why are you okay without me? why am i the only one suffering?

ex best friends are like. i found texts from you in my phone from 2014 and i didn’t stop crying for half an hour. your mother passed me in the grocery store the other day and i couldn’t meet her gaze [does she still make upside down pineapple cake for your birthday?]. i write all my “y”s with a loop at the bottom; the same way you always signed the notes we passed in class [“love you!”]. i’m full up with rage and i don’t know how to uproot the fury from my chest. from under my fingernails. i adore you more than you’ll ever know. hating you has become second nature.

I don’t think you understand how much you meant to me. I never thought there would come a day where I couldn't text you and tell you about the funny thing that just happened. or call you because I missed you. you don't understand how you were so intertwined into my soul. I miss you so much.

i’ve never felt so loved or seen or understood by another person before. before i met her, i never knew what it was like to have someone pay attention to every detail about me. to remember what i said in passing. to keep a running list of my likes in the back of her mind. do you know what it’s like when you can communicate volumes from a glance across the room? when someone knows your tells; verbal, physical, or otherwise to the point that no matter how much you try to hide, she already knows because you already let yourself be known and to be seen? do you know what its like to fully believe with every bit of your being when she says ‘i love you’ that she means it in the only way that she can love you?
i guess that’s why i don’t understand how our texts became so sparse, our conversations nonexistent. why it feels like i’m reaching to the void every time my thumbs hover above your name when i know you’re not going to respond. i guess i’m struggling to reconcile all those mundane moments in our living room, those silly ‘what-if’ conversations, or those moments late at night when we could only rely on each other with the ‘forwarded to voicemail’s. it hurts wondering if i even cross your mind at all, if letting go of me was as easy as you made it seem.
i’ve stopped reaching out since then, but baby, how could i just forget someone who turned my burning red into a sunrise orange when i became close to you?

No one tells you how hard friendship breakups are. No one can. It's a feeling that can't be described.
When you have something to share and realise you can't text them. When you think of a funny joke but have no you can tell it to. When you are going through a rough time and miss their shoulder to cry on...
But most of all, the hardest part is when you lose an entire friend group. When they're all together but now you're looking at them from the outside. It feels.. devastating... You start to doubt yourself, every little thing you do. Where you went wrong. Was it when you made too many jokes? Was it when they didn't like your advice? Or how you whined too much about things?
And yes, it's very common that people move on, they grow, friendships change, but you'd never think that it'd happen to you now right?

RUSTED FRIENDSHIPS|
Friendship breakups hurts more then any other thing. You wish them successful life but you can't be in their life. With each passing day you distancing with each other but you both can't do anything about that. We both are strangers to each other now but we know every single detail or secrets of each other. We both always carry a part of each other with ourselves. I still have your number and I miss you but I won't call you. Seeing you happy without me hurts but it heals me too. I hope I meet you and I hope we never meet again. I don't listen to our favorite songs because it hurts but when someone plays it I never turns it off. I hate you but I love you too.

It is so disappointing when you believe someone is going to be with you for the rest of your life, then all of a sudden they aren’t there for you anymore. I’ll always admire and support them from afar, but I wish I could be close to them again.
