What I love about franks solo stuff is that even though it’s inherently pessimistic and angsty there’s still hope, there’s always the light at the end of the tunnel ‘cause these scars are my own and I love every one’ . Frank is forever a work in progress, he’s constantly trying to better himself and he fully embraces being ugly and imperfect and human. It’s something I admire and love about him and makes his art so applicable to everyone. its refreshing to hear about negative things portrayed affectionately with warmth and acceptance and makes his music very comforting to me. we are not the only ones who are imperfect.
