SUMMARY: stories of jamie and reader's friendship over the years, from age 7 to 17.
WARNINGS: language, slight body image/appearance issues, slight panic attack, vague descriptions of sex
A/N: yay! finally starting this fic with sort of an overview/background on their relationship, but there will be more flashbacks throughout the chapters. no gif for this one cause tbh i could not find one that fits the vibes here, but regardless hope you all enjoy the prologue!
Age 7
"You mind handing that back over?" You hear a voice coming from the other side of the fence as you pick up a loose football.
You turn to find a boy around your age in a football kit. His hair was completely waxed to one side, probably to keep it from covering his eyes while playing. You recognize his uniform as your school's football team's, though you're not sure if you've seen him before. Then again, you didn't know anyone in town yet. You had just moved to Manchester a few months ago, just as the school year started and while you had a few people to talk to in class, you didn't have any solid friends really.
You toss the ball back to the boy, who catches it swiftly. You think that's the end of it, so you start heading back to your house when he calls out to you again.
"Hey! What's your name?" You answer him, with him nodding in acknowledgment. "I think I've seen you around the school. I'm Jamie."
He reaches over the fence and extends his arm for you to shake it, despite the fact that you were already at your front door. You walk back and shake it, as he asks, "Do you wanna play football? I got a game tomorrow, but Mum's too busy to play goalie."
You had hoped your look of glasses, multiple layers of clothes, and generally un-sporty demeanor was enough to dissuade offers to play, but this Jamie didn't really seem to care.
"Maybe another time," You reply, but this boy is persistent.
"Okay, do you wanna watch me score goals?" He offers before glancing at the book tucked under your arm and pointing at it. "You can read while I play."
Once you realize that he wasn't going to quit, you finally agree. You head back inside to tell your mom that you'd be playing with your neighbor for the afternoon and since you already finished your homework, she was more than willing to let you go. She always said you needed some fresh air, which was why you were outside in the first place.
You walk back to your yard to find Jamie still standing where you left him, but this time he was practicing his dribbling. He was pretty good from what you knew about football, and walk over to his side of the fence. He stops when he sees you and starts leading you to his backyard. There was a goal net in the far back and some cones set up, probably to practice maneuvering the ball better.
Jamie turns to see if you're still following him and drags you to a small table with two chairs near the door to the house. "You can stay here and count my goals," he instructs you and you nod your head in understanding.
While Jamie kicked around the football, you continued reading your book, occasionally looking up at what the boy was doing. It was easy to keep track of the score since Jamie would be cheering like he just won the Premier League when he scored.
After getting bored of reading, you decide to ask Jamie to teach you how to play. You see his eyes light up and immediately drags you up from your seat. The first thing he teaches you is how to dribble the ball. He held your hands the whole time to stop you from falling over, but that only seems to make it harder for you to move around.
Once you finally got the hang of that, — meaning you no longer tripped over your own feet — the next few hours were then spent teaching you the other basics of football like passing and shooting. You only started to get decent at shooting when you realized that the sun was already setting.
"I think I have to go home now," You tell Jamie, whose expression suddenly fell at your statement. You go and grab your book from the table and wave at the boy. "It was nice playing with you!"
If he said anything in reply, you didn't hear it because you sprinted back around the fence and into your house. You take off your shoes, relieving the ache of kicking around the ball, and go to tell your parents everything you did that day.
The next time you see Jamie was Friday morning. He spotted you leaving your house for school and invited you to his team's football game that afternoon. "You just have to stay in school a little later. My mum said your mum might get worried, so she told me to tell you now so you can ask her."
You run back inside to do just that and after informing her that the other parents would be chaperoning the game, she agreed. You also take the chance to get your scarf and gloves because you hadn't realized how cold it was outside. She went out with you to tell Jamie the good news.
"Thank you, Ma'am," he replied, causing your mom to let out a chuckle at how polite the boy became. She finally sends you off to school and Jamie decides to walk with you too.
You couldn't help but be amazed at how well Jamie was playing. You knew that he was at least decent based on how well he taught you that day, but he was practically scoring all the goals for his team. None of the opposing players could even catch up to him, at times. You wonder how he kept his energy up despite the fact that it was freezing outside and he was only in shorts.
After the game, his team got hot chocolate to celebrate their win. You go to congratulate him, but find it hard due to the number of people surrounding them. Jamie was looking for you too, so the moment he spots you trying to make your way through the crowd, he heads to you instead and pulls you aside.
"Did you like the game?" was the first thing he says to you.
You immediately nod, "Yeah, it was really fun to watch! Congrats on winning."
Jamie shrugs, "Thanks, but it's really nothing, we've been on a streak for a while." You don't know if he's just being humble or bragging about his team, but either way, you're happy they're doing well.
Afterward, Jamie decides to bring you to meet his mom. She's quick to embrace you and mentions that Jamie's been talking about you non-stop, much to the boy's embarrassment. She hands you a hot chocolate of your own and you're grateful to be able to warm your hands. You lost one of the pair around lunchtime, so you've been keeping your hands in your jacket pocket the whole day.
While Jamie goes to change, you stay with Georgie as you savor your drink. She notices the lack of cover on your right hand and gives you an extra pair that she kept in her bag. It's clearly too big for you and its orange color clashes with the blue and white on your left hand but you're grateful regardless.
Soon after, Jamie's rushing out of the locker room looking cozy in a sweatshirt under his winter jacket. He's wearing gloves as well and when he notices your mismatched gloves, he takes one of his off and switches them with the orange one.
They're a much better fit and you thank Jamie for it. The boy adds, "My hands are bigger, so they won't slip off as easily."
"Come on, let's go home!" He adds, grabbing one of your hands with his left and his mom's with his right as you walk off the pitch.
After coming home, your mom notices your new glove and decides to bring some cookies for the neighbors as a thank you. That started a months-long gift exchange between the two moms for reasons ranging from watching over their kids on weekdays to lending their kids a pencil for a standardized test.
You didn't really mind it though, because it usually meant you'd get to hang out with Jamie longer. You spent countless weekends riding your bikes around town, playing football, and even camping in your backyards. The boy who threw that ball over your fence was quickly becoming your best friend.
Age 15
“Aww, my little girl is so grown up, now!” Your mom exclaims as she opens the door to see you in a pink knee-length sundress. You don’t know why she’s so shocked you’re wearing it considering that she was the one who bought it for you. “Hmm, but do you think you need a necklace?”
“Mom!” You whine and she immediately backs off. It’s not like you minded the suggestion, but you had your own issues to deal with and didn’t need your parents to get involved.
When you said yes to Tim asking you on a date, you knew you’d be both excited and nervous. But you didn’t realize how insecure it would make you. Your parents say all the time that it’s normal for kids your age — being insecure about your looks and body, — but that advice never seemed to help. As your mom leaves the room, you turn back to the mirror and sigh. Something was just off. The dress was pretty, the shoes matched, and your mom did great with your hair, but even then, you still aren’t satisfied.
You weren’t as experienced with make-up and fashion as the other girls in your school and you had long since accepted that. You just didn’t realize it would backfire on you in times like these. You sigh sharply again. If Tim really liked you, it wouldn’t matter that much right? You add the necklace your mom was suggesting before heading downstairs.
After a string of ‘oohs’ and ‘awws’ from your parents, you start heading to the restaurant. Most popular restaurants among your schoolmates were walkable and you didn’t want an even more awkward introduction with your parents there, going there by yourself was the best plan. You had gotten there early, so you settled on the bench outside the restaurant to wait for your date.
Maybe around the first half hour, you should’ve suspected something was off. But you stayed for another hour in case Tim actually showed up. God, you shouldn’t have believed he was sincere. Why would someone ask you out? You always kept to yourself in class, spent most of your time studying, and never even tried to go to parties or anything.
You check your phone again because some hopeful part of you thought he’d text you with a valid excuse, but all you see are some messages from classmates asking for notes and a missed call from your mum. You were not ready to face your parents right now, not after the hopeful looks on their faces that their daughter might be sociable for a night.
Instead, you call the only other person you can. Jamie makes it to the place in record time and the first thing you do is hug him. The moment you make contact with his body is the moment you let the tears flow from your face. It didn’t really matter at that point if people were staring: you just needed someone. You needed Jamie.
“I’m gonna murder that prick,” Jamie threatens as he reciprocates the hug.
“Please don’t,” you whisper into his chest. “I can’t have you going to jail right now.” Despite trying your best to say it jokingly, your voice is too hoarse to properly convey it.
After what felt like hours in that position, you finally let go. You soon realize that your streaming tears had stained Jamie’s shirt. “Shit, I’m sorry.”
The boy looks down and just shrugs. “It was getting too small for me, anyway.” That’s enough to put a smile on your face.
The two of you get into the car – Georgie’s car, since technically, Jamie only had a provisional license – and start driving back to your house. Maybe it was your wrecked emotional state, but you decided to outright ask, “Jamie, do you find me attractive?”
You gasp as Jamie almost crashes the car. You quickly clarify as he steadies the vehicle, “Fuck, I didn’t mean it like that! It’s just, I don’t really know how I look to guys.”
“Right, sorry.” He says but doesn’t look away from the road. “I mean, you are pretty. As long as you don’t let it get to your head.”
You roll your eyes. “Oh, fuck off Jamie, I’m not you.” You could list the number of times Jamie’s flashed that cocky smirk to girls at school during breaks. Those were some of the very few times you were embarrassed to be seen with him and you laugh at the reminder. But your smile quickly disappears when you look down at your outfit. “Do you think other guys think I’m pretty?”
Your voice is as soft as it’s ever been, not wanting to show how insecure you’re feeling at the moment. But Jamie can tell like he always does. You turn the corner to your house and he stops the car in the road and fully turns to you.
“Fuck those other guys. Fine, if you need someone to say it, I will. You are fucking gorgeous, especially tonight.” You cringe at his words, not used to having anyone say that about you, but he gets you to look at him again. “I’m serious. And Tim’s a fucking idiot for ditching you.”
Despite his harsh tone, the soft look in his eyes as he tries to comfort you almost makes you tear up again. As if it’s become a routine, you reach over and envelop him in a hug once more. To make up for the failed date, the two of you spend the rest of the night eating a tub of Neopolitan ice cream and soon enough, you forget that Tim even existed.
Age 17
Your teachers always said you were a good writer. But no one ever told you how fucking difficult it was to start your personal statement. You'd never realized how hard it is to prove you should go to university until you forced yourself to sit down and actually try and write something. You started with the outline route, trying to note all your academic achievements, extracurriculars, and things like that before you ended up boring yourself.
You've written 9 possible starting lines at this point, and in the end, you decide to just shut your laptop in despair. Try again tomorrow, you said to yourself. The same thing you said yesterday and the day before that.
You go to lie down on your bed when you hear something hit your window. It's a light clinking sound, and you ignore it till you hear another one. You finally decide to check outside your window and hear shouting from above.
"God?" you ask hesitantly.
"Nope, just me," you look up to find Jamie Tartt sitting on his rooftop, almost giving you a heart attack.
"Get down from there!" You tell him immediately and instantly cringe at how similar your tone is to your mom’s. Jamie rolls his eyes at the order but obliges anyway. He starts going down the roof into his bedroom — carrying an empty bottle of beer in his left hand — and makes it through his window.  Once he's safe with his feet on the floor, he turns around to face you in your adjacent bedroom.
"Why'd you even go up there?" you question and Jamie, like always, simply shrugs.
"Felt like it," you shake your head at his reasoning. You knew your best friend could be reckless, but you didn't think he'd do something as stupid as that, especially before scouting season.
"So falling off and breaking your legs wasn’t something you thought could possibly happen?"
"Well, that’s why I have you to warn me," He exclaims, before going back to the conversation. "I'm coming over."
Both your sets of parents were out for the night and they'd known each other long enough to trust each other's kids enough, so neither of you needed to message them about it. You watch him sprint out of his room and after a few minutes, you here the doorbell ring.
You head downstairs and open the door to find a panting Jamie leaning on the frame. "3 minutes, new record time."
"Well, they do say I'm one in a million." He jokes as you let him inside and he takes off his shoes.
"Who's they, in this situation?"
"Mum." He says blankly, collapsing on the couch. "And Simon."
You laugh, before lifting his legs and shuffling on the opposite side of the couch. You rest them on your lap for a second, before a wave of stench from his feet hits you and you shove them off. Jamie goes back to sitting upright and he instead leans his head on your shoulder.
You turn on the TV and start browsing for a movie as your entertainment for the night. Most weekends were like this; hanging out in one of your houses, ordering pizza — which Jamie did as you looked through channels, — and relaxing on the couch.
The order was placed and you settled on the Hunger Games this time. You watched the first part of the movie in silence as usual, but once the pizza arrived, Jamie decided to change things up.
"Wanna play 20 questions?" You look at him curiously. You knew practically everything about each other, so why on Earth would you play a game that's every person's go-to icebreaker?
You don't have a chance to protest because after taking a bite of the pizza, he asks, "What were you doing before I got here?"
Your eyes widened at that. Maybe the one thing you never really talked about with Jamie was your future. Neither one of you would admit it, but there wasn't any chance that you two were going to be doing the same things in your career. You had academia and Jamie had football. It's hard to imagine something that kept the two of you together and also made both of you happy, so you never brought it up.
"Uh, I was having a wank," you joke but Jamie isn't amused. He continues to stare at you with an expression that you rarely ever saw; he was being serious. "I was trying to write my personal statement."
You look cautiously at your best friend who is quiet for the first time tonight. He takes a bite of his pizza again and with a full mouth, says, "And? How's it going?"
You groan and lean your head back. "Fucking terrible. I can't think of anything to say about myself."
"The fuck do you mean? You're like the smartest person I know." He points out and while you're touched he thinks that, you sigh.
"Unis don't just look at grades anymore. They want substance and worldly impact from their applicants. How the fuck am I supposed to change our societal landscape at fucking seventeen?" You admit, and it's like a weight has been lifted off of you. You drop your plate of pizza on the table and lean into Jamie's side.
"You want me to write it for you? I've got a bunch of great things to say about my best friend." He offers and you finally let out a laugh. "I can put how fucking amazing you are at Scrabble, how you can predict the ending of a movie in the first 20 minutes, how loud your voice can get when you cheer me on at a football game, and how you can hear a song once and already figure out how to play it on the piano."
You look up to find Jamie giving you a wide smile and his happiness is contagious. But that feeling is almost instantly replaced when you remember the position you two are in and feel your heart beating faster.
You don't ignore the fact that Jamie has grown up a lot more in recent years: finally passing you in height, having more defined arm muscles, and definitely growing into his features. It's harder to feel normal when you do the things you did as kids like when he rests his head or arms on your shoulders, pulls you into his chest to stop you from walking in front of a passing car, or just like right now when you're leaning into him, his arm pulls you closer to his body.
You slowly pull yourself away, but then he grabs hold of your hand instead. You've held hands before, but again, there's just something different about now. You decide to leave it there before finally replying, "I'm sure with that kind of stories in it, they'll let me into fucking Oxford." The two of you laugh before you grab your plate of pizza again and turn to back to the movie.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck,” You hear someone say, as you turn the corner to your school’s locker room.
It was normal to hear the players get nervous before the finals, but hearing Jamie Tartt panicking was a whole new thing for most of your classmates. Some league teams had sent scouts for the striker in this game and while everyone knew he’d do great, it seemed like the school’s support still wasn’t enough to convince him of that.
When his teammates couldn’t snap him out of it, their Plan B was to call you.
“Sorry, I’m looking for my best friend, Jamie Tartt. Brown hair, blue eyes, kind of conceited, but pretty nice if you get to know him.” You start out jokingly, but when his panicked eyes landed on yours, you quickly shift gears. “Shit, sorry. Not the time for jokes, I guess.”
“I don’t know what’s wrong with me. I’m off my game right now,” He starts, still trying to catch his breath as he moves around frantically. You take his hands into yours in order to steady him, but when that doesn’t work, you grab him by his shoulders.
Usually, Jamie would be towering over you, but with his slumped posture at the moment, you were almost eye-to-eye with the guy. “Jamie, take a deep breath. Focus on me, okay?”
You’ve gone through this enough times — usually with you in Jamie’s place — to know how to calm him down.
He follows your directions and you slowly nod your head. “Keep breathing, just do that for now.” Jamie closes his eyes and slowly starts to steady himself. Your hands move from his shoulders to his hands like you initially planned.
“I know it’s fucking terrifying, but believe me when I say that you are incredible. You know how you always tell me that I’ll smash it as Model UN conferences? This time, I’m the one telling you you’re gonna be the best fucking player out there.” You pause for a moment in case he reacts, but all Jamie does is nod his head. “I believe in you. Georgie and Simon believe in you. Hell, this entire school fucking believes in you. I swear, I saw people planning a chant for you outside.”
That gets the player to laugh and you smile, seeing a glimpse of his usual self. “Also, I know I’m complimenting you right now, but better savor it cause I’m never inflating your ego like this ever again.”
“Not even when I help Man City get another win in my first year?” Jamie finally speaks up.
“I’ll be complimenting Pep, not you.” You playfully roll your eyes. “But to be able to do that, you have to get out and play today.”
Jamie straightens up and starts shaking away the nerves. He turns to head to his team, but not before giving you a quick hug and a ‘thank you.’ Once he enters the locker room again, you start heading back to your seat.
Age 18
"Do you really want to do this?" Jamie asks carefully, but you've already made up your mind as you pull him closer.
You were going off to university in a few months and Jamie would be doing his summer training soon. Both his and your parents were out of town on a couple's retreat, so it was either now or never.
You knew that going off for college would increase the chances of your first time being with a random guy you met at a frat party infinitely, so you could say it was a calculated decision to jokingly ask Jamie when you talked about it if he'd be willing to sleep with you.
You didn't really expect anything and for the first few seconds, Jamie was too in shock to actually reply. You immediately tried to dismiss it as a joke, but before you could, he replied, "Sure."
You knew that Jamie had already had sex with girls before, — hearing him try and sneak the girls out of his bedroom window was always a fun story to bring up the next day — so you thought that it would just be another one for him.
But that night was the most delicate you've ever seen him. He didn't rush you or make you feel uncomfortable. He checked up on you constantly, making sure it didn't hurt and you were actually enjoying yourself. You made sure to hug him after, — not being able to say any words of gratitude out loud, — and you eventually went to sleep like that.
You woke up the morning after, still with him beside you, but after you got changed and he went back to his house, neither of you brought it up again. You went back to your old routine of hanging out in the afternoons and movie nights as if nothing even happened.
And it really was for the best, considering that the next time you had sex really was in a frat house’s bathroom.
Now, you were loading the last of your things into your car for your family road trip to Cardiff, which was to also move you into your dorm. Your mom was recounting the boxes, making sure you didn't forget anything because in her words, "We are not driving 3 and half hours twice just to bring you your toothbrush." Your dad was in the kitchen fixing up snacks for the trip, so you decide to take this chance and finally say goodbye to your best friend.
You barely saw Jamie in the weeks leading up to this since he spent most of his time at training. Even on weekends, he would be passed out in his room from the painstaking drills of the days prior. So as you knock on their door, you aren't very hopeful.
It reveals Simon who instantly pouts and brings you in for a hug. You always appreciated him for how he accepted Jamie into his life, despite the latter's fears that he'd be just like his father.
"Come inside," He offers, but you shake your head. You had to leave soon and you didn't want to delay the trip any longer. “Alright, but I was actually baking some muffins that you guys can take on your drive there, and you can’t say no to those.”
You laugh as you nod, before asking, "Is Georgie home?"
Simon calls out to his wife to tell her that you're about to leave. You soon hear quick footsteps descending the stairs before you are once again enveloped in a hug.
Simon heads out to presumably pack up those muffins, but you're too distracted by the rising feeling of sadness as you say goodbye to the woman whose practically been your second mother for a decade.
"You stay safe, okay? I know you'll enjoy your life there, but don't make your parents worry too much. Cause then they won't be able to stop talking about you," You laugh at her prediction before giving her one last hug.
Simon races back to you with a brown paper bag which he hands over, along with a pat on the back. You turn around to see if there's any sign of your best friend, but Georgie answers that for you. "He said he might be running late at practice." You feel your heart sink, but do your best to mask it. You wave goodbye to the couple before walking to the car.
You hand your dad the bag of muffins and sigh, "We can go." Your parents exchange a look but oblige nonetheless. You start heading into the car when you hear the call of your name.
You turn to see Jamie, still in his kit — shorts and all, — running towards your house. You decide to meet him halfway and once he's close enough, the football player pulls you into a tight hug, as if he's never letting go.
"Did you really think I'd let you leave without saying goodbye?" He whispered into your shoulder.
"If you're in trouble for leaving practice early, that is not on me." You try and keep it light-hearted, but his laugh only makes the pit in your stomach feel worse.
"Call me, okay? As often as you can. And send me pictures of all the stadiums you're playing in. I don't care if you send ten pictures of Etihad Stadium in a row, just do it. If you ever come to Cardiff, take some time off to see me. And," you try and think of more things to say, but Jamie cups your face in his hands to make you stop.
"I'll see you during the off-season, yeah?" Jamie's look is soft and you can feel the dam stopping your tears about to break.
"Don't you fucking forget me, Jamie." You try and say as angrily as you can, but your voice cracks as Jamie pulls you into another hug.
The two of you finally separate and you head off to your car. You stop yourself from looking back as you get into your seat.
Jamie doesn't take his eyes off you, though. He watches as your car starts and turns the corner off your street.
A/N: hope you all enjoyed this one! if you couldn't tell, some of these flashbacks were based on the song 'it's nice to have a friend' by taylor swift which is what inspired this whole thing! see you next week for the official first chapter !!

@pumpkinstabs ; cont.
Steve isn't fully sure where the two of them stand. It wasn't all too long ago Michael was just another victim of Steve and his gang's bullying, an easy target to mock and parade through school like some kind of freak. Not as if Michael wasn't the only one, but everyone else Steve had a personal hand in tormenting hadn't stayed so close. The two of them were practically coworkers, at least by the sense they were employed within the same mall, and falling back into his juvenile and asshole-ways wasn't something Steve was keen on doing. He was a changed man, or at least he liked to think he was. He was trying to be, anyway. He wouldn't blame Michael if he never wanted to interact with Steve again, but the guy was more forgiving than Steve thought.
Steve offers a brief smile and a nod in return.

" Of course, man. I make sure to keep the place stocked, " A small bit of pride in his stupid job, despite the fact he thought it was, well, stupid. It might've just been some weird form of punishment from his father, but if he had to spend the summer selling ice cream, he'd be the best damn worker in this particular shop.
" And I'd appreciate that, yeah. My co-worker bailed, " Or, more accurately, her shift had ended, leaving Steve to clean up the rest of the shop. Not as if he could blame her either, he'd of left her behind to head home and shower off the smell of waffle cone if he had the chance.
" So... Ice cream first. "
Steve gestures with his head back to the shop, the sign still lit up above. Welcoming, despite the obvious lack of patrons. Everyone that wanted ice cream had cleared out already, especially since Steve had taken it upon himself to inform them all the shop would be closing soon. The faster people left the better. Plus, it left the two of them alone. Steve didn't know the guy well, but he figured the guy was basically a loner. Didn't seem to make any friends in school and even now he was just a quiet figure in the background.
Steve only takes a few minutes to get the ice cream together, his prized scoop 'expertly' gathering up two scoops into a cone. Employee discount only really allowed for one, but. Screw it, who only ever ate one scoop?
He slides it across the counter then and decides to lean over it, resting on his elbow.

you ever get distracted from writing and procrastinate on finishing a story because you spend two days detailing and then partially building (in sweethome3d) a replacement headquarters for the fantastic four, from part of your extended timeline that you won't write because it's a spider-man timeline and the f4 stuff is in the background (to be fair peter could still see this place)
yeah me neither
Tumblr media Tumblr media
it's a 100 foot tall fallout shelter and i thought it would be fun to tint the windows in a gradient but then i realized that because they are recessed 1-2 feet deep they get literally no sunlight (the ground floor walls are theoretically twice as thick as the top floor walls but unfortunately there's not way to do that in this program lol (or any? i think that would be a "bespoke 3d model" kind of thing to have tbh)
a reinforced concrete bread box...
the roof is retractable and there's a courtyard inside
also i only did the front facade basically and didn't bother doing anything else other than Erecting Walls but in theory there should be fire escape stairs connected to blast doors on the sides (the windows don't open)
there's no interior for this reason XD i didn't even make levels i just made one big fucking wall so i don't think i even COULD furnish this without a lot of pain in the ass elevation finagling—and i'm sure as hell not doing that. i just wanted to get an idea for the dimensions so i could confirm that it is in fact a squat square,
(that yellow thing in the front is a memorial statue of johnny)
(the cone lights are also just a stand-in for what would be theoretically a 10 foot tall light up "Fꟻ" logo lol)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
added some internal lights and you can kinda see the blue tint better
oops forgot i made the roof invisible
as an aside the metal would not actually be corrugated like that, i just needed a stand-in for stainless steel cladding lmfao it'd probably be mostly flat

I caught the Pokémon fever and I felt the urge to draw Yuu as a Pokémon trainer!
I kinda want to make a new AU where Yuu actually comes from the Pokémon world as well as update her BIO. Also I’m thinking of changing the color her school uniform’s vest.
Also, in this AU I think with her Pokémon by her side, she’s a lot more confident enough to think she would have no need to disguise herself as a boy. So this is what her uniform would look like:
Tumblr media
Backgrounds I used:
Name: Yuu
Gender: Female
Age: 18 (I know I said she was 16 before, but now I want to change it 😖)
BIO: (It got a bit long, so I hid it under cut)
In the world of Pokémon, Yuu was originally from Opelucid City in Unova with her single mother. They were a poor family and her mother stressed day after day, trying to make ends meet while also putting up with the other responsibilities that came with being a parent. What set her over the edge was when Team Plasma attacked the city and froze it in ice along with their home. This made Yuu’s mother decide to put her in foster care in Castelia City in hopes another family would come and take better care of her daughter. That’s what she said, but when Yuu looked at her mother’s face she couldn’t help but see a bit of relief in her eyes. After that, Yuu mostly kept to herself, not really interacting with the other kids, blindly hoping that her mother would return once she’s more financially stable, but she never did...
One day, when she and the other foster kids were out and about the city (with adult supervision of course), enjoying their Casteliacones, a Patrat swiftly took Yuu’s remaining cone! She chased after it down in one of the alley’s, and hid around the corner and made a big discovery! The Patrat was actually a disguised Zorua! After hearing his stomach growl even after he scoffed the cone down, Yuu felt sorry for the illusion Pokémon and approached it. Zorua growled as Yuu settled down her backpack to take out her lunch bag and revealed it’s contents to him. “You need it more than I do. Take it.” She got up and left to return to her group, leaving behind a very confused Zorua. Oddly enough, Yuu met Zorua again shortly on the same day. After finishing most of her lunch Zorua saved an apple and followed her home to return it. (Disguised of course) But even with the disguise, she recognized the apple immediately and could see right through Zorua. Since then the two would meet when Yuu had the time and bring Zorua some food and she would chat and play with him. Sometimes she would talk about something funny she saw on TV, or go ranting about how annoyed she gets with grown ups pestering her about playing with the other kids when she wasn’t even interested. The only game she was interested in was Hide n Seek, but was then banned from playing it by the adults for being too good at it. And couldn’t even talk about Pokémon with the other kids without talking like a “stuck up know-it-all”. As well as talk about her dream of finally becoming a Pokémon trainer and go wherever she wanted without any kids or adults telling her what she can or can’t do. Zorua would then bark at her like he understood what she meant, and for the first time, she felt she finally has a friend/ally.
Then one day, one of the other kids leading a group traced back to where she had been meeting Zorua and found him, and by the time Yuu got there, she was horrified to find the kids circling and ganging up on a distressed Zorua - wanting to touch his ears and tail. At first, Yuu froze in fear, fear that now the kids know where her special meeting place with Zorua was, fear that Zorua might think she betrayed his trust by telling them about this place, but as Zorua cried out - Yuu snapped. Pushing all the other kids away, shielding Zorua, Yuu yelled at them to leave Zorua alone. It did not sit well with the biggest kid, who shoved Yuu to the ground, which angered Zorua! Zorua then used scratch on the kid and used his power of illusions to change into a Hydreigon! Not realizing it was an illusion, the kids ran away, crying and screaming. This greatly relieved Yuu, believing this event would make the kids think twice before messing with them again. However, that sense of security was short-lived ‘cuz shortly after it, she was confronted by the adults who run the foster home as well as a policeman, who was holding a struggling Zorua by the fur collar. Yuu was scolded for attacking the other kids while also making contact with a dangerous wild Pokémon that had a history of stealing food from tourists and local alike and now has attacked a defenseless child. Yuu tried to explain that Zorua was starving and how those kids were scaring him and the only reason he attacked was because she was shoved. But her explanations fell on deaf ears as the policeman said he’ll take Zorua somewhere far away from Castelia City. All Yuu could think of was that she was about to lose her only friend and will be left alone with kids who hate her. Not wanting to bear with that reality, she charged for the Policeman, kicking his shin which was enough to make him to lose his grip enough for Zorua to wriggle away free. And the two both charged out into the alleyways of Castelia City.
Since then, Yuu was a small child with a Zorua on the run. The police were frantic about searching for them, but thanks to Yuu’s cleverness when it comes to Hide n Seek and Zorua’s illusions, it made it all too easy to give them the slip. They were together, but unfortunately they had to steal food in order to get by. One of these thefts lead to a fateful encounter with a certain mad scientist by the name of... Colress.
While he was enjoying his newfound freedom from police custody at a café, Yuu swiped one of his pastries. And of course, it had to take one misstep to alert Colress that he was being stolen from which prompt Yuu to run as if her life depended on it. But as she regrouped with Zorua, they were suddenly surrounded by Colress’ Klingklang, Magnezone, and Porygon-2. With KlingKlang using protect from Zorua’s attacks, they had no way of getting out of it. But even then, Yuu refused to give up if it meant that she and Zorua will be separated. Seeing her bond with Zorua as well as her ability to give Zorua commands despite not even old enough to become a trainer, Colress’ interest was piqued and the gears of his mind started to turn. He held off his Pokémon’s attack, and met with Yuu at eye-level to ask her about her story with Zorua. At first, Yuu refused saying he’s just another adult who would never listen to her or give her the time of day, only for him to respond that it’s quite the contrary. Something about his eyes told Yuu that this isn’t something he would lie about and she reluctantly told him about her situation.
And Yuu didn’t know how (and was too afraid to ask), but somehow Colress was able to convince the people at her foster care to let him take custody of her as her guardian as well as convince the Police to let Zorua off. But one thing she did ask is why he decided to help her and Zorua out in the first place, his response was, “Because I firmly believe that someone should never be separated from a Pokémon they have a clear bond with. No matter what age they may be.”
And since then, Yuu and Zorua were always together. And though Colress was her guardian, he was never a father-figure for Yuu. Yes, he did provide Yuu and Zorua food and shelter, as well as Yuu’s education. But he never hid the fact that he saw the bond between Yuu and Zorua as a fascinating research subject. Sometime even testing how in-sync their brainwaves were. Yuu didn’t really mind either as long as no one dares to take away Zorua again and at the time she saw Colress as the only adult that was ever straight with her.. Zorua himself didn’t trust Colress and would always keep a sharp eye on him while sticking close to Yuu.
Hearing about the close community of people and Pokémon in Alola, Colress moved his lab there thinking it would be the ideal place for his research and took Yuu and Zorua along with him. At first Yuu didn't know how to feel about the change, but was surprised that compared to the kids she knew in Unova, she actually thought decently about her classmates at the Pokémon school that she was enrolled in. For one thing, they actually respected Zorua's space and hers which was a huge breath of fresh air. And her teacher, Professor Kukui, just let her take her time before getting to know them instead of pushing her to do things that made her uncomfortable. Later on, Yuu hears about how close the other students are with their parents, which made Yuu more aware of how different she is from them considering she doesn't exactly have a typical father/daughter relationship with Colress. Seeing her newfound sense of loneliness, Professor Kukui invited her to his lab to spend time with the Pokémon while also meeting his wife, Professor Burnet. It wasn't long before Yuu started having dinners with the married couple and started seeing them as parental figures.
(Now this has been going on for a little while now, so I’ll just sum up the next part shortly as the next part should be stories for another day)
When she became a trainer at the age of 11, Yuu decided to take on the Island challenge. Along the way she became partners with Primarina, Toucannon, Raichu, Mudsdale, Lurantis, and among others with those 5 plus Zoroark being her main 6 for Alola. And after becoming Alola’s first champion, Yuu decided she wanted to travel to experience everything the world has to offer, not only to perfect her battle-style further, but also to meet the Pokémon of every region as well as to grow deeper bonds with her Pokémon.

The Life of Working
I worked my whole life since I can remember except when I have injuries. As a child would go with my brother door to door and ask if they needed anything done. We would mow lawns go about our streets and ask. Sometimes mow clean windows whatever. My Father was a shoemaker repairman on the side of his jobs to make a living. Me and my brother would go door knocking and ask if any repairs were needed. He had all the gear and a lot of people needed new soles or any shoe repairs. Even tho I didn't respect my father that much he tried his best to make some more money to look after us. Unfortunately we never got on he didn't want children I honestly can't remember him cuddling me or being a dad father but a provider to feed us which I believe he hated. But he did look after us financially and taught us to work for a living. My brother and I would front our neighbours for work and we would go also with a sack on our bikes and pick up bottles cans and bring them.to the recyclable centre to get cash. Our main aim was to get enough cents to buy a cup of hot chips which were 5 cents or a big bag of lollies. Me well I would save it to buy my mum or dad presents. I remember having enough to buy my dad cufflinks which is a rare site to see but they were so beautiful. If you have seen that TV ad from Cadbury chocolate shows the girl asking for a bar of chocolate putting buttons a ring and a toy horse to the shopkeeper you would understand as he says your change and gives her back the horse and she gives the chocolate to her mum saying happy birthday mum. It makes me cry everytime I see that ad..
So after that childhood working life my family moved to another state. We were a bit remote but I would go to the shops and ask them if they needed help fortunately for me a hairdresser salon let me work after school to sweep and mop the floor. Gave me a whole dollar. I was in glory. Got to buy cherry ripes wagon wheels and bring them home for my family. Soon my mother moved me and her to the Gold Coast because my parents had a breakdown and I had the want for money so hunted for a job. I was only 12 do it was nearly impossible. I looked much older but wasn't giving a chance even tho I was willing to work. I sat at a take away food shop shouted myself a milk shake and was tired. I was in tears thinking why can't I be older. The owner came and saw me and asked three important words "R U Ok" I told him I was just trying to find a job but no-one will give me one. He gave me gracious and said you can work here after school and the weekends if you like just have to serve icecreams milkshakes and hamburgers. I said thank you can I start now?
He said sure and taught me how to do all. I remember teaching me how to use a mop and scoop icecreams and milkshakes. In fact we actually got the award on the Gold Coast for best food. He would tell me scoop up that ice-cream in those cones and milkshakes and made the best hamburgers ever. All the boys from the surf club would come over every day and get hamburgers and shakes. His business picked up big time and I was only young but looked much older and had great breasts. The clothes shop opposite would come there everyday and say we have to smart you up and would give me clothes to showed my figure and breasts. I was embarrassed at first as brought up with a strict regilous background would not do even at school always had my uniforms under the knee . This led on to a modelling Which I copped crap over the wasn't good . but hey I was if my parents I led the real life; career as in previous post but short.

So anyway, Mein Herz Brennt Making of liveblog, one of my favourites
First of all, I do take any use of piano MHB as a slight towards my tiny hands. -1 point
I really would love to visit this place, it's beautiful
I love that Oli introduces it and then Till is straight in there talking about murder and stabbings. Trust that to be what intrigues him. I feel like 'smells like murder' isn't a direct translation but that's purely because I spent like ten minutes trying to work out what words he says. It rhymes, which is suspicious.
Oh this was before he let his chest piercing reject all the way out in the grossest way
When schneider says Krankenhaus it sounds very Geordie and I'm convinced that kind of thing is why Auf Wiedersehen, Pet was created
Richards eyes light up when he's talking about the room he's in and it's one of those looks where it's just. I would love to listen to anything anyone has to say when their eyes have that sparkle.
"the scavengers had already been here" cue Paul talking about his criminal past thieving from there. See, another example everyone forgets of him being the biggest bastard of them all. The smile is a front.
One of my favourite ever Rammstein things is the combined joy and mockery from Paul when Richard is revealed to be wearing the bird mask and it wiggles as he nods. He looks like a little black cockatoo. Richard looks embarrassed to be wearing it but Paul is having the time of his LIFE.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The way is echoes in his mask makes him sound like he's clucking
Flakes glasses perching in his cone make him look like that sesame Street doctor or scientist
They all suit this make up so much and I wish they'd consider it as a stage look
Peck. Not intimidated.
Considering the nightmares Till has/had, ouch
Richard looks so much like a little vampire prince but like, a character from what we do in the shadows. He makes his own smokescreen entry/exist and everything.
Melanie!!!
Richard has many tendons in his neck huh.
The sounddd. I used to always be curious as to whether or not people in music videos were making the sounds it looks like they're making and now I know and I'm uncomfortable. This and also later when till does the heart
His laugh is never what I expect it to be
That uh. That doesn't look like he's in pain the way the injection sounds implied. At all. Not that I'm complaining but it gives mixed messages.
I'm so sure Richard is the only one I've ever heard use the word quasi. It makes sense for him if true but maybe I only notice because of the tone he uses? His is quite a punchy nasal tone it might just be more noticeable.
Till with kids is always the most adorable wonderful thing. He's really helping to keep them relaxed despite the creepiness of the stuff they're shooting.
"if you look at the cover then you'll recognise a morbidity to the whole thing" till, my darling, do you think people don't already ~see the morbidity~?
I googled and the lady doesn't pronounce renaissance with a g like Till does and that interests me. In fairness I have to assume it's like in Norwegian how words like restaurant are pronounced with a g sound because it's closer to the French sounds? It's not like we in English donut the French way either but the Google translate lady does. This is why I always suspect that when I'm learning a language I'm learning the language wrong and at some point I'll find out there's a Real, For Adults version if the language that's totally different. This is irrelevant. Accents are fun and I like being able to notice them.
It feels so strange seeing this knowing what Eugenio did
Paul taking pictures because he knows better than them
Something about a child saying "ah yes, I know Till and Flake very well" is hysterical.
You can feel the dismay and disapproval radiating off till as he tries to be diplomatic about the Spanish understanding of linear time. He struggles to find a positive and only comes up with the fire walls. "It should have gone out before we filmed anything because they were fucking around with the playback so long but it didn't" is his only compliment.
The German word for French is wild.
Do they know they could have hired an interpreter? Interpreters existed in 2012 I know this
This whole thing with Melanie is beautiful you can't deny that the arm Eugenio made with then was lovely.
Till in the dress with Melanie in his lap. I don't off the top of my head remember seeing it in either video so I simply must assume that it was just what he was wearing that day when he showed up. She's so tiny on his knee I'm glad they're still friends.
Tumblr media
"you're left in a state of trauma when everyone stares at you all the time" did this need to get so heavy? It's interesting that he focused more on her voice than her appearance there, though in fairness it's pretty high
They all love her so much and it's totally understandable.
Mit rock n roll und cola trinken
I have to skip the screaming the secondhand embarrassment is too much.
Part 2
Again, this liveblog is so long
Sometimes Oli speaks like his body isn't used to talking.
I want, so badly, to know if Richard was having memories of his dreadlocked youth The tiny cup in his elegant hand is so pleading and then you look left and. It sure is something.
Tumblr media
Are they freckles or acne scars across Tills shoulders?...cute. The first set of arm/chest wounds, not so much. I do spy his lil tummy scar
Richard does look like he almost swooped in for a kiss and then changed his mind because of the camera. Paul turns his head that way and then Richard tries to save with a step back and face rub (his own). Just saying.
Tumblr media
The fact that a few of them have taken pictures on their personal phones warms my soul it's such a nice reminder that they're good friends outside of work and My Heart
Schneider and Paul ready at a moment's notice to be Dumbasses. J'adore.
What if Zoran was more of a background character tho actually
God, schneider is beautiful. An ethereal, pure beauty that exists no matter how he's being styled.
See okay how is flake almost taller than Oli right now he's not even doing his standard open legs and swan spine thing
It must be so hard to find Oli sized clothes. Flake is also tall and slim but he's a lot more leg, whereas Olis height seems largely to be torso. I have to assume a lot of his stuff is tailored or custom made now.
I always forget about the marks on tills back when he's in the nightmare dress
The child staring with great confusion at a bright red flake reading. I would love to know what his favourite books are.
The childs plural poking and prodding at a very patient Oli, who gracefully bends his spine in ways I've never seen a human do before. I wonder if he's ever dressed up as Lurch from the Addams family.
Tumblr media
The actress playing the woman in this half is so beautiful and has a power her younger counterpart lacked when she was threatening him with her weapon.
I am a dummy and was like weird why is Paul speaking Norwegian. I know full well he wasn't saying unnskyld because I've heard Germans say their equivalent before and I assume Entschuldigen either sounds like that fast or shortens so what the fuck, rhi
Till guiding people through him murdering them is truly one of life's greatest pleasures. They trust him so completely. I would like to watch them dance the elegance would be astounding.
Paul lurking watching with what I choose to see as pride as till slaughters an old woman.
Paul being critical (again, as always, rightly so) of the hallway mouthing the lyrics decision.
"for this in prepared to make compromises" he says, hating every bitter word of it
I would like to know what he wanted to say about till and then see him get into trouble over it.
I would like to see till in a bouncy castle. He's adorable jumping into the comfy pit I want to see him in a bouncy castle. Child, utter child.
Paul takes every opportunity to say how hot he thinks they all are and I love that about him. Sometimes your friends are all hot and everybody needs to understand that fact.
Their approaches to pretending to play cello are all so uniquely them. Flake and Richard are taking the time to try and understand what they're being told, whereas Paul just fucking. Lays into it, attracting the weirdest looks from Oli. Richard looks beautiful with that cello and I think he should learn to play. For fun not for work. It's not just that he looks so handsome, but I think that's the easiest way to convince him. I think he'd be good at it, and not being the lead at something might be good for him.
Tumblr media
I appreciate that Oli is skeptical because yeah they do all look like they've never held a cello before.
They do, however, all look lovely in their dresses. I'm trying but actually I can't not say that Schneiders little sternum dip makes it seem like he has breasts in that dress and it's a good look for him.
Tumblr media
Till singing it in such a high voice, more like his speaking voice, is both interesting and lovely. Oli is trying... So little compared to the others. Laughably incorrect
Why yes, I am laughing at the sheer length of the spikes. They're just... They're so fucking long. So long.
Tumblr media
Paul is actually probably the best one there, ironically. They're all comically out of time. They're professional musicians. I know they aren't used to bowed instruments I do understand and I don't want to be uncharitable but also they are struggling. I want to see cellists react to this.
Pretty dresses! And the nightmare but with the most awful and worst fingers! Like the Grinch but goth.
Both Schneider and Richard had the same neverending shoot idea and I am Intrigued.
Till waiting for Schneider with the umbrella :)
Wir brennen! Paul is always so happy to play with fire.

scrunchies & hoodies || p.jm
genre: fluff, romance
pairing: jimin x reader
background: fake relationship, highschool!au, to all the boys i've loved before theme, fluff!au.
word count: 1.5k
Tumblr media
When you found out that your boyfriend cheated on you and told you that you were way out of his league and that you were too boring, you knew what you needed and wanted to do right away. Plus, the fact that he told you no one's gonna wanna be with you really hurt your ego so all you wanted to do was to slap him with the fact that he's not the only fish in the sea.
But, who? Who else besides him?
As you were running that day on the field, overthinking about the words thrown at you by your ex-boyfriend, you saw Park Jimin getting dumped by his supposedly ex-girlfriend by now.
At first you couldn't believe it. I mean, literally anyone in the school would kneel just to be friends with Jimin. Girls and gays would drool over him and his other friends during lunch time, and he seemed nice and friendly. A bit intimidating though because he's part of the jocks on your school but on top of all of that, he seemed really boyfriend.
"How rough was the break-up that you can't even go to the cafeteria because she'd be there?" You asked him when you found him alone in the rooftop, drinking some kind of strawberry milk.
That day was also the day you started going out, no– not really going out, dating Jimin.
It's a win-win situation. He wanted to get his girl back, and you wanted to prove your ex-boyfriend wrong. After that, when Eunji regrets dumping Jimin, and your ex admits that he regrets saying what he did, it's over. And you both agreed on that.
At that time, you didn't really care about falling for your sidekick because you were sure that you weren't, all you wanted was to slap your cheater ex-boyfriend and make him look like a fool for those words. It was childish, really. But that's what you both agreed on, nothing more, nothing less.
And so you both set rules for each other.
"And please, I know it's not a big deal for you, but it is for me. Less Kissing." You said and typed it down your notes. But as soon as you said that, you felt his plum lips on yours.
"Are you dumb? Didn't I–"
"Your ex was looking, don't turn around. Just smile." He whispered after leaning dangerously close to your ear.
No one was looking, though.
You've also went to several parties with him, which wasn't you at all. You only went to parties with Jimin knowing Eunji and your ex would be there, but you had to admit that those little hangouts with Jimin, and those deep talks after parties inside his car – it was really something. It made you realize that Park Jimin wasn't so bad after all. He was a good friend.
You looked at the ice cream in front of you before grabbing it. "You were craving, right?" He asked.
"Yeah, thanks. Really thoughtful, knowing your ex is looking." You both giggled after that but he shook his head and sat beside you. "Oh, this is good. Want some?"
He looked at the cone you were handing him over then looked at you. He moved your hand away and kissed your lips, which probably tasted like strawberry ice cream.
He made an impressed look and nodded. "I think I like strawberry way more now." And you swore that after he did that, a blush was very visible on your cheeks.
"You're making this whole fake relationship thing easier for them to believe, you know?"
"What's wrong with that?"
Yeah, what's wrong with that? You can just end up with each other.
"Not gonna happen." You said but snapped out of your thoughts as soon as he gave you a confused look. "I mean–"
"Yeah, I kinda know what you're thinking." He said and you noticed his little side smile. He stood up, lending a hand towards you. "I'm taking you home."
"What?"
"I'm taking you to your house, the fuck? What you high on?" He asked and grabbed your hand, tagging you along with him. You both agreed to not be sweet when nobody's looking, and you swore that by the time you were holding hands, everyone else in the field already left. You wanted to take your hand back but it felt, I don't know, right?
Having Park Jimin in a black hoodie and ripped jeans, with his backpack hung on one shoulder, his forehead showing, he looked really fucking attractive and boyfriend material, and it felt so right.
"Bro, you're a simp. I thought it was fake?" Taehyung, another attractive and hot as hell friend of Jimin, asked when they were alone inside the shower room. Jimin took a sharp breath and closed his gym bag.
"Tae, is it bad that I don't want this to be fake anymore?"
"Totally not. You two really made everyone believe that you were really together, it all looks real!" Jimin chuckled and left the room, but they both stopped when someone was already in front of the door.
"Guess Taehyung's voice is not just deep, huh? You can be loud whenever your voice wants to." Eunji said and patted Taehyung's chest. "Thank you, though. If it wasn't for you and your chitchats then I wouldn't know that Jimin here is just faking everything with Y/n."
Jimin bit the insides of his cheek and looked down, not really knowing what to feel. "Tryna make me jealous, Park?" He rolled his eyes, not wanting to say "yes" even though that was part of the plan.
"It's working." Eunji said before grabbing Jimin's collar and you know – kissing him, as cliché as it can get.
"Jimin," Taehyung said and forcefully pulled him away from Eunji, who was also forcefully kissing him. He lowkey pointed at where you were standing and Jimin looked at you, but the wrong move he did was he didn't do anything at all.
You gave him a thumbs up and a wide smile after that, from a distance, and jogged away when you realized that – they were probably back together. It was over, and all you needed to do was for him to bring your scrunchies back and for you to bring his hoodies back.
You were asking for another confirmation, and as you were walking home, you received one. A message from your ex. Which you totally forgot about after all this time being with Jimin.
I'm sorry for the words I said. Maybe I'm a dick after all, and you changed. For the best, because you were already better back then. You deserve each other. Just know that I'm deeply regretting that I hurt an innocent one.
You smiled at that note.
But it was a Saturday, and you were fucking lonely. All the Saturdays you had with Jimin were all fun and exciting, but today was different. It's been a week after you saw Jimin, Taehyung and Eunji in front of the shower room, and a week after you two supposedly broke up the whole fake relationship.
You decided to bring five of his hoodies with you as you walked to the rooftop where this whole fake relationship started.
Little did you know that he brought your scrunchies as well.
"Hi!" You forced a giggle and simply handed him his hoodies over. You noticed that he was wearing just a white shirt on, probably because he already ran out of hoodies. Or some may be with Eunji now, who knows?
"I guess we'll have to break up?" You forced a laugh once again and a smile after saying that, but he didn't answer. He just grabbed your wrist and made you wear five of your scrunchies. You chuckled upon having them back but stopped when you realized that this was it.
Being sad over this departure was certainly not part of the plan, and you surely didn't stick to it when you realized that you could no longer fake anymore smiles because you were that sad.
It made you even more devastated when he hugged you.
"Do you like me?" He asked while hugging you, which caught you off guard so you pulled away from him, giving him a confused expression. He looked down and chuckled. "Again, do you like me?"
"What–"
"I didn't kiss Eunji back that afternoon. I stood there not knowing what to do when I saw you because that day, I realized what I was really feeling for you and I didn't wanna admit it to myself that quick." He said and looked through your eyes. "And I'm still afraid – that's why I'm asking you this once and for all, Y/n."
He paused for a bit, mustering up all the courage he had, then caressed your face and pecked your lips. "Do you like me now?"
You remained silent, not really taking in what was happening but one thing's for sure.
You already fell. Hard.
"Because I do, Y/n. Harder than you can ever imagine."
oKAY this may be cringe??? for some 🤮 but i'm feeling all soft rn bc boyfriend pjm & i just finished watching to all the boys for like the 10th time ok bye ily :(

SAN DIEGO - Day 1 🦒
We got like five hours of sleep after driving all night, which is so not enough, but felt so great. Then it was up and GO TIME!
First on the agenda for our lil weekend away was the San Diego Zoo. For the first time, Beach basically planned this trip totally solo, with a little input from me here and there, but really, everyday was kind of a surprise for me haha.
Her main purpose behind visiting the zoo, was that they had an interactive safari exhibit, where they drive you around in trucks, in the actual animal exhibits. She loves zoos anyway, but this was a whole new level of exciting for her. We got to the zoo and got in line for what we thought was the safari bus. While we were in line, a guy overheard us discussing between ourselves whether or not this was the safari. That's when he gave us the heads up that no... this wasn't the safari. In fact, the safari we were talking about was at the SAFARI PARK not the zoo. Which, it turns out, is about an hour away! DOPE. We had no idea. Turns out we didn't need to get admission to the zoo at all.... awesome? We got on the bus anyway cause we'd already waited in line for it, and guess what? It was the worst. Couldn't see anything from our seats and it was a nice waste of 45 minutes haha.
So after we got off the bus, we called the Safari Park to find out if there were any other safari exhibitions available that day, and they said there were. Then off we went back to the car to make our hour drive up to the Safari Park.
We purchased those tickets (not cheap haha) and headed into the park. We had a little bit of time to kill and we were desperate for some water, so we went to a little kiosk and got some ice water and a soft serve cone. The cone was a mistakeeeee. It was melting at a ridiculously fast pace and ended up being more of a liability than anything else hahah. Eventually mine fell out of the cone and onto the ground. Oops.
Then we headed over to the safari base camp, where we were told to meet. Turns out, they'd overbooked the tour due to a glitch in the computer system. That HAD to be us, since we'd only purchased the tickets like 30 minutes ago hahaha. We said nothing and sat quietly until they started looking for volunteers to wait an hour and go on the later tour. We decided we'd volunteer, because we weren't in a rush. As a compensation for our trouble, the employee gave us free drink vouchers, and also told us we'd be really happy we went on the later tour anyway because the animals are far more active.
To kill the hour we had, we decided to eat for the first time that day finally, and we got rice bowls at a nearby cafe. Then we rallied at the meet-up stop again, to actually go on the tour this time!
We loaded into the back of a truck, and took off to the safari exhibit. They had tons of gates in place that you have to go through to keep all the animals in and all the regular people out. Once we got in though, it was magical! Mainly giraffes, but also some antelope and desert birds to see. Obviously the best part for me was the giraffes, because FAVE. They came right up to our truck, which was awesome, and we each got to have a turn feeding them leaves. Beautiful babies! (There were some babies in there also, fun fact, and they were precious.) We also laughed really hard watching them split their front legs nearly flat just to be able to take a drink of water hahahah.
We moved to the next part of the exhibit, and it looked exactly like what I imagine the African safari to look like - just a bunch of different species co-existing and eating grass on the hillside together. Unreal. Makes me want to do a safari even MORE now. We saw a cute mom and daughter rhino playing like puppies, running all over the place. And we even saw a momma with her one-month-old baby out for only their third day in the exhibit since the baby was born! SO CUTE! We got to feed apple chunks to the rhinos, which was a totally new experience for me, and we even had permission to pet them. Their skin is hard as rock haha.
Learned a lot of cool facts along the way and had a great time. By the time our safari was over, the Safari Park was closed. The day definitely could have gone smoother, but the priority was going on the safari and it worked out for us in the end.
Next stop was Little Italy in downtown San Diego. And it was SO CUTE! Beautiful sunset view of the ocean, perfect temperature, millions of delightful sounding Italian restaurants to choose from, and background music creating the perfect ambiance. I'd never been there before, but it's safe to say I'll be back. We ate at a super yummy restaurant, though I can't remember which one (you probably can't go wrong), and then the highlight of Beach's day? We found another Salt and Straw like we had in Portland! So she was able to get a full scoop of the chocolate brownie ice cream she fell in love with during our taste test last time, and I got a new kind that was sorta weird, but sorta great!
(This is the part where work calls proceeded to ruin the rest of our perfect night and I don't even want to talk about it, ugh.)
So far, so good. Just a little bit messy. (;
