reasons i don't support AI art.

it's theft. every AI app/generator uses the program Stable Diffusion which has a database of art uploaded into it without the knowlege or consent of the artists.

it's a major privacy concern. photos of real life people have also been fed into the database.

it's been used to create porn deepfakes—that includes the creation of child porn. i think that reason alone should be enough to not support it.

art and artists are already highly undervalued and AI art makes this even worse.

the narrative about elitism surrounding art is bullshit. PLENTLY of artists teach and share tips for free to make art accessible. you wanna be an artist? pick up a pencil and draw. everything else from there is just practice.

AI as a tool COULD be great if there was actual artist consent and involvment, but since that isn't the case AND there isn't any legislature in place to protect artists (or any rules & regulations surrounding the usage of the program), my flat out statement is to say no to ANY and ALL ai art.

there's more info out there if you're curious. FromHappyRock on twitter posts a lot of info on this topic. and that's just ONE user. pretty much everyone i follow on every platform has a ton of info on this, with sources.
