Most of you are aware I grew up in the greenhouse business our family has owned for 4 generations . We still are a greenhouse family to this day. I’ve shared this before but I’m sharing it again for beginner seed starters because generations of experience has taught many lessons. 1- Do not use the brown paper recycled pots of doom. 2- Add cinnamon to your seed starting mix. 1 cup of cinnamon per 20# of soil and then more sprinkled a top it. This will aid to prevent damping off and is actually a rooting hormone as well. 3- Use seed starting mix not potting soil and don’t let anyone convince you otherwise. It does matter. 4- Use heat mats w a thermostat set at 73-75° for most seeds . They’re worth it and they do improve germination significantly. 5- Any light in the right K temp will work. 5500-6500K is the correct k temp. This is not to be confused with lumens, they are not the same. 6.) Start when the signs are right. Don’t be willynilly. Feeling Florence, Italy

This weekend, I finished up watching 'From Scratch' on Netflix. I've got feelings of Italy on my mind and of course, no better way for me than to utilize those feelings to build within The Sims 4.

My take on 'From Scratch' to follow.

The vibe might not actually resonate Florence, Italy, but rather a peaceful place, filled with love surrounded by nature, gardens, the ocean, good food and more.

Good food is important to me so I'm working on creating a kitchen and dining space utilizing The Sims 4 BB CC (build/buy custom content) now that it's out on Curseforge.

I'm back in the CC game BBs!! Once I'm finished with the build I'll update this post with the CC attributes. I'm AMAZED!

It’s been a busy week in the garden, with new hens arriving (16 wks old) and their coop getting a complete revamp for spring. They’ve settled in well and seem to be really happy in their new home. We’re all looking forward to fresh eggs again. 😋

We’ve also been busy making some raised beds for our root veggies, a real blessing and makes life so much easier, especially with a sore back.

It’s also the last of our up cycled metal and I love that we’ve used every piece … nothing wasted. 😃

It’s been a job and a half to fill them, but we’re lucky enough to own horses, so there’s never a shortage of well rotted manure. Two nearly complete, two to go … 👍

#tbt (📷 by @blueboyny 14 years ago on the 30th of this month i moved back to nyc briefly (9 months) due to the ‘08 financial crash. all my upstate jobs & dj gigs had dried up. i thought going back would help. my bestie @blueboyny came up to help pack & clear all and @michaelpalm drove a truck loaded with my stuff and Philippe with his van! I tried & it didn’t happen. nyc was licking it’s own wounds. I lost the promised jobs (back in retail) & the bklyn apt since i had no job. causing me to live with mom in howard beach (no beach really) & all my stuff. all this lead me back up here where Philippe had me join his landscaping team & been back here ever since..was lucky.
