(Kind of annoyed with my coworkers, but it’s not really a fuck anyone cuz I still like them and my job)

In my role as a Front Desk Agent, I have also been given the responsibility of handling everything related to guest loyalty at my hotel. I didn’t ask for this, I wasn’t sure if I could even do the job properly, and my other coworkers adamantly want nothing to do with it. In the near year I’ve had this responsibility, I feel like I’ve gotten a good handle on things, and my coworkers basically recognize loyalty stuff as my “baby”.

Corporate has been sending different loyalty collateral packages to be distributed among the employees and throughout the hotel. These packages arrive during the morning shift. I typically work the evening shift. Twice in a row, I’ve arrived to my shift to my managers saying that *eye* got a package, only for me to look and see parts or all of the package already rummaged in. This second time (today), I just happened to see the contents strewn about in the back office. My GM saw me looking and was like “oh yeah, we went through the box and threw away everything we didn’t need!”

Like……. CAN I LOOK AT THE SHIT BEFORE YALL DECIDE TO PICK THROUGH IT?! Y’all have already made it clear that you don’t want anything to do with it. It’s all been on me. So can ME get the chance to go through some of this stuff first? Obviously I’m gonna be the one who knows what to do with it!

Sometimes working at a hotel means being incredibly bored, sitting at the desk waiting for something to do and reading Reddit or X

Sometimes it's getting free breadsticks because the Canadian high school sports coach asked for 30 breadsticks and Papa Johns got confused and brought them 30 ORDERS of breadsticks

Sometimes it's scrambling to call other hotels in the area to see if you can move guests there because a pipe burst or something exploded

And sometimes it's helping the police catch a felon because even though you're normally very ACAB, you saw the blood from the attack

Emily Benschoter has taken malicious compliance to the next level after she was told she wasn't allowed to have pink hair for her job.

Emily found out her workplace had a bit of an issue with the fact she had pink hair after she got the job without an in-person or video interview.

She revealed on TikTok that she told bosses about her hair color before starting her front-of-house role in the hospitality interview and found out that having pink hair was a big no-no for them.

Instead of dying her hair - or looking for another job - Emily decided that she would wear wigs in natural hair colors each day to comply with the dress code.

The 29-year-old would not only wear natural-colored wigs, but would ensure that they were pretty terrible wigs to boot, meaning far more attention was drawn to the state of her hair than it ever would have been had she been allowed to rock her real hair in all its pink glory.

I've been dealing with so much work anxiety lately? I feel like there's not enough of us with the amount of work here. It causes me to stress and overthink. Note the fact people here do not know about my mental stuff - I don't share it since...yeah, the stigma.

Here’s a Fuck Guest of sorts from a hotel Front Desk Agent:

My hotel regularly gets guests from a specific company. The guests themselves are usually lowkey… never really a problem. The problem always comes with their receipts well after they check out.

The company always emails us saying that the address is wrong on the receipt and that we need to fix it. I’ve been working at the hotel for over a year, and this is literally always an issue with this company. After dealing with it personally a few times myself, I decided once to be proactive and fix the address myself before the guest checks out. We had an address for that company in our system, so I just added it to the reservation.

TURNS OUT THAT ONE WAS WRONG TOO, by a singular number.

What I never understood is WHY THESE RESERVATIONS DON’T GET MADE WITH THE CORRECT ADDRESS ALREADY ATTACHED… Our work days are not spent adding addresses to each and every reservation. Most people don’t even need it/don’t care if it’s on there or not. JUST THIS ONE COMPANY. One would think they’d be tired of sending the same email for the same issue over and over again. We’re sure as shit tired of getting them.
