this is just a big fanmail ok but i'm such a latecomer (tried AoT back in 2013, didn't like it, then binged just before s4 final chapters) and i'm genuinely perplexed reijean is such a rarepair???? since november i've reread From Shiganshina with Love a concerning number of times and when i saw your other fic was called Beyond Evil i knew you had impeccable taste. you're a true ambassador and i am so grateful and excited for everything you do!!!!

I’m really happy you enjoyed FSWL, it’s certainly one of the fics that are the closest to my heart. I just loved writing about Jean's inner turmoil and heartbreak, and the overwhelming need to save Reiner… And Levi! I had so much fun with Levi. :3

Beyond Evil is the series of the decade, hands down. I don’t know how many times I’ve seen it, but it’s my ultimate comfort show. Whenever I feel bad, I find myself running back to Manyang, hehe.

And going back to Reijean — I was also surprised by how little has been written about them so far. They really deserve all the recognition for how hopeful and meaningful their relationship turns out to be. I don’t know much about other AOT pairings, but Reijean has endless potential in my eyes.

Alright guys, I’m gonna have to kill any false hope before more of you get excited today. I haven’t made much progress at all so there’s like a 97% chance it won’t be up by tonight. It’s just one of those days I’m afraid (hence why I’ve been on tumblr so much) and the muse is playing up, so I’d rather not force it and give you a less-than-satisfactory chapter if it means I can wait a couple of days and give you a really good one. So not tonight, I’m sorry dear. But yes to the last chapter on Valentine’s. Yes to that and I might as well tell you, I’ll also be posting another chapter of From Switzerland With Love that day too, because how can I let Valentine’s Day go past and not write anything about Valentine? So yeah, I’ll have to disappoint you guys today but you’ll get double trouble next Saturday. I’ve already started writing the FSWL one and I’ve been laughing too much to see the screen at times, so you’re gonna love it, I promise xx

for you whats the easiest and most difficult part of reijean relationship to portray accurately in your fics?

That’s an interesting question!

Their dialogues come rather naturally to me, I don’t have to plan them in advance. They just sort of happen. I usually start with dialogues when writing, to decide on the tone of a given story and on the main message I’d like to convey, and then I just construct the plot around them. Sex scenes are also very easy to write for those two.

The most difficult are probably the repetitive elements of the plot that are fundamental to their relationship, for example, the Marco Incident. It’s impossible to write a post-Trost/pre-confession Reijean fic without alluding to it somehow, and I keep coming up with new ways to break the news to Jean, and with new ways to portray his reaction. It can’t be always rage and heartbreak, you know? And yet, Jean’s reaction has to be in character. So, so far we had the heartbreak in FSWL and the perverse I knew it all along attitude in MBE. I have something else planned for NLMG and then a fourth scenario for another WIP. How to keep it interesting and not too OOC? That’s the biggest challenge, I guess. :)

11. Do you write scenes in order, or do you jump around?

When I’m working on the initial outline, I like to maintain the chronological order — to avoid writing any unnecessary scenes. Later, when I’m already trying to make everything more coherent, I like to choose scenes depending on my mood (and the music I’m listening to that day). If I’m feeling angsty, I’ll write angst.

13. Do you listen to music while you write?  If yes, what have you been listening to recently?

Music is my biggest inspiration. It makes my writing more… dynamic, but also gives me ideas for specific scenes. I listen to Arctic Monkeys while working on Reijean smut, but the Berserk soundtrack is great for a variety of scenes. I also listen to the original AOT soundtrack a lot.

19. Do you enjoy creating OCs or do you prefer to stick solely to canon characters?

I do like creating OCs. My favorite so far is the one I created for a DBZ fanfiction a few years ago (not available in English, sadly). She was such a bitch, I still love her. I’ll be probably introducing a new OC in one of the Reijean WIPs I have planned.

27. What area of writing do you feel strongest in?

None really, lol. It’s all trial and error to me. I just let things happen.

36. What fic are you proudest of?

I’m proud of every fic I managed to finish!! But I’ll have to say either FSWL or BE, so my first Reijean works. I really like how “From Shiganshina with Love” turned out in the end. That fic was such an emotional rollercoaster. And “Beyond Evil” was my first fic after a very long break.

39. What’s your most self-indulgent wip?

Each of them is so, so, so indulgent… There is that one particular story which is a modern AU, but the Titans are still present. I’m only turning it into a modern AU, so that Reiner and Jean have access to toys. 😈
