I was wondering what I could do to be more masculine as a FTM pre-T and I finally found some good tips that I hope maybe will help you too
Be swift as a coursing river
With all the force of a great typhoon
All the strength of a raging fire
Mysterious as the dark side of the moon

Trans masc tip: Whenever I feel dysphoric about my boobs I reminded myself about Slimecicle’s rack and I feel a little bit better. If he can have tots and still be a dude then so can I.

Transmasc tip (or just for anyone who wants to look taller, but I find it very gender affirming personally)
But heelys. Trust me.
A) They’re fun
B) (and more importantly) if you take the wheels out and just wear them as sneakers, they add an inch or two onto your height while still looking like just everyday sneakers (because the heel is lifted to make room for the wheels)

Any other trans guys have trouble calling themselves a 'boy' or 'man'?
For me, 'boy' feels too childish and almost silly to say while 'man' feels strange and rough. I like calling myself a dude or a guy cuz that's what feels right :)
Anyone else feel similar?

Alright, so, here's my list of tips to make you feel more mask (as a trans guy)
- clothes (darker colors are gold, but you don't have to limit your wardrobe if you don't want to)
- especially boxers and pretty much anything from the men's section helps me a lot
- a lot of people say to wear oversized hoodies, but I recommend looking for ones where the seam (place where the sleeve connects to the torso) sits at the top of your shoulder. Makes your shoulders look wider
- don't know why but striped or geometric patterns on socks help me feel more masc
- work outs (specially strength training) can be very gender affirming
- wear a binder (or a sports bra if you don't have one) (don't bind for +8-10 hours or work out while binding, NEVER sleep in you binder, remember to take breaks)
- pack if that's something you want (you can easily DIY a packer with a pair of socks)
- gender affirming hair cuts are gold
- use mens body wash/shampoo/deodorant and/or cologne/aftershave
- wearing more typically masc watches, jewelry etc. if that's your vibe
- wearing chunky boots?
- don't pluck your eyebrows, let your body hair grow out
- some people get a lot of euphoria from creating the illusion of a faint mustache with makeup or highlighting already existing facial hair
That's all I have atm, but feel free to add to the list
Also remember: no matter how stereotypically 'masculine' you look or not, whether you want to try out some of these things or don't, you're srill completely valid in your identity. Keep living your truth king

Tips For Guys Pre-T
- Have confidence. Don’t just spread your legs all the time, though that helps, but try to act how you would after you transition. Trust me, it works.
- There is such a thing as dressing ‘too masc’. A lot of guys will slip into butch Territory. That’s obviously okay if you want that, but if you don’t, add a chain or studs(it’s OKAY to wear BOTH earrings). Flannels are okay, as is any punk style(just maybe avoid bright hair and lipstick). Obviously don’t if it increases dysphoria.
- This one is for black trans guys…GET A LINEUP! Trust me, it works. I really don’t know why, but it is a lifesaver.
-Cologne is your friend.
- Get a buff and shine. It looks good and masc, and will help you on your quest for whoever you’re dating.
- Baby powder is GOOD actually. Keep it close because chafing’s a bitch
- Assertive does not mean obnoxious
- Make sure that at the end of the day, you can look in the mirror, at your body, and call it home. Transition(whatever that looks like for you) should feel like coming home.
I think that’s it
-Bye-
P.S, DMs are open if you have any more ideas for new posts or questions you have in general. Take care of yourself.

I had always been really nervous about being a HS wrestler pre top surgery, cause I was stealth but still had to wear binding tape (cause you can’t exercise in a binder). But then I learned about gynecomastia, where cis guys go through puberty and grow lots of extra breast tissue. So when I had matches in my singlet, guys would ask about what the tape was for and I could just say I had gyno and was self conscious about it. And after top surgery this summer, if anyone asks about scars I can just say I got my gyno removed. So for any stealth trans mascs out there dealing with peoples questions about binders/tape, just say you have gynecomastia! Cause cis guys can have tits too!

Lesser known effects of Testosterone:
Just wanted to make a post for all my transmascs out there. I didn't have a great doctor when I started T, and I was very isolated from other queer people. For reference, Ive been on T injections for 9 months, on 25mg weekly (which is a low dose)
Most people know that your clit will grow while you're on T. I wanted to explain it in more depth because there's more to it than just that. Your clit can start growing as early as 2 months on T, and on average it'll grow 2-3 inches after 2 years of HRT. You will probably be able to get a mini erection. And for me personally, I found that the internal part of my clit would swell up when aroused. (Aka it might look like your lips are swolen, this is normal) Its also important to clean under the hood of your clit, because as time goes on it collects sweat/ toilet paper. Ive found the best method is to sit on the toilet, pull back the hood (or foreskin as I like to call it), and run a wet q tip over it. Be gentle because its sensitive af.
Your Vagina may be more dry than usual. If you experience pain durring penitrative sex, try using lube, or spending more time on foreplay. You can also use dialator dildos or take supplements. If pain persists, please talk to a doctor.
Your period probably wont just gracefully come to a stop (i know, I was disappointed too) you might think its gone, then 3 months later its back. I also had a light period that lasted for 3 weeks. As long as you're not experiencing profuse bleeding or extreme pain, its ok to just ride it out. It takes a minute for your body to get used to new hormones.
You're probably going to want to masturbate a lot. Its ok. No shame dude, T hits you hard on that front.
Your breasts will flatten out a bit. I went from a C to a B arround 6 months. Unfortunately they won't dissappear completely, but it sure as hell makes binding easier.
Ass crack hair. Imma just leave it at that.
Well, I hope this was helpful! Im really proud of all my transmascs out there. I know its scary sometimes, but yall are doing great. Also if anybody has trans questions or just wants to talk, my dms are always open! 💜

hey trans people in the UK who want to stop getting their periods: buy Lovima
Tumblr media
Lovima is an OTC (over-the-counter) contraceptive pill that stops pregnancy and most importantly, periods. It's got progesterone, not estrogen in it, which means you're not getting any of the feminising effects.
I was prescribed desogestrel by my GP in tandem with Tavistock, literally 75 micrograms like Lovima is, at 15 exclusively because I experienced such heavy dysphoria over having to deal with monthly periods. So it is legitimately prescribed as a transition resource!
You don't need to be a certain age to buy birth control in the UK, and if your local chemist gives you shit about looking young just ask if they want another teenage pregnancy taking out of their taxes lmao.
Goodluck! and if theres a US equivalent feel free to link it @ US trans peoples

Ftm hormone therapy: the changes testosterone causes to AFAB bodies.
I start T soon so here's some changes to AFAB bodies when you take T
Increased thickness and growth of body hair
Bottom growth (clitoris grows)
Hair on crown starts to thin (depending on genes you may or may not have male pattern baldness)
Shoulders broaden
Fat redistributes. Less around hips, more around stomach.
Menstrual cycle lessens/stops
Skin becomes coarser/greasier
Change in body odor (you'll probably stink more)
Less fat around body which makes muscles look more defined
Easier to gain muscle mass
Don't expect a full beard right away, you're gonna get back hair tho
Stronger libido
Mood swings lean towards anger as opposed to estrogen based mood swings that lean towards sadness
Vaginal dryness
Voice deepens (be prepared for voice cracks)
These things will take time, let your body figure itself out.

Get lots of sleep!! (Sleep on your back if possible)
dairy for skin is a nope
