I went swimming for the first time since top surgery two days ago and I literally almost cried of pure unfiltered euphoria. Feeling the sun hit my back, feeling the breeze on my chest… I genuinely don’t think I’ve experienced such joy in years. My chest is finally mine.

Happy (late) TDOV and birthday to me 🏳️‍⚧️✨♥️
celebrating trans joy and love and the little progress we make towards our happiness 🩷🩵🤍🩵🩷
my wonderful boyfriend has given me the greatest gift of all; living in an arab country as a queer trans artist is incredibly difficult. so with the help of his sister who lives abroad, my love has set up a gofundme to help me save up for top surgery which i'm hoping to get this year!
this is incredibly amazing of him, as my country doesn't have trans health care and gender affirming surgeries are not covered by insurance, so saving up for it alone is very difficult for a low income artist.
you can read more info about my situation in the link, i would appreciate any support; even if you can't donate yourself, just sharing it to your circles and communities really helps me out! thank you for reading i hope you all have a wonderful day!

Life Updates~
Unrelated to most things here but I have news: I just came back from my first consultation for top surgery!
I'll probably need a double incision, which I figured anyway, but I'm glad to find out that my scars can be separate! The surgeon was very clear on setting up expectations for results and what I'm looking to tailor to my own body. I'm aiming for a very masculine cut/presentation and as flat as realistically possible with little visible scar tissue; I agree that scars are beautiful and show a person's journey, however, I know that I want little visibility for myself personally.
One thing that I wasn't aware of was apparently there is an additional surgical procedure that you can get to help hook up your nerve endings for the nipple grafts. I, of course, expect sensation to be altered by top surgery (especially double incision) but I do want to preserve sensation in the nips as much as possible!! I'll have to go to a separate consultation with a second surgeon but they'll both work on me the same day.
I lastly had some concerns with what pain medications I'll be prescribed; my family has a large, ugly history with opioid addiction and I desperately do not want to be apart of it. The surgeon was grateful that I brought it up and assured me that this procedure is very low risk for folks with these concerns, even for folks who are afraid of relapsing themselves are extremely low risk for this surgery. With that being said, he also made a note to have me on something that isn't as intensive (he said some medication that started with a T, but I can't quite remember the rest), it was comforting for me to have that concern recognized as this is something that literally keeps me up at night.
Now I wait! Literally can't do anything until the surgeon center and insurance people finish exchanging information on me, so I wait 1-2 weeks until my NEXT appointment where they'll draw on me or whatever (incision cuts). Really really REALLY hoping and praying that I can get on the slab before the end of the year!! I'll try give updates, if my anxiety doesn't convince me out of it.
I started this at the end of March this year so I'm glad all the waiting is finally paying off, I've been so fucking stressed out about it, it's not even funny. I'm so happy to finally be this close :,]

So apparently starting 2023 my insurance started excluding gender affirming care from their coverage and now I have to pay out of pocket for my top surgery.
There’s loads more detail and background of whats all going on in the description of the fundraiser, including a breakdown of costs if you’re interested in knowing all that.
If you can’t donate, please share/boost the link. It would mean a lot to me 🖤

My top surgery is coming up, and I could really use some help!
Howdy! I'm Casper Oliver (he/they/fae). I'm a queer, disabled, pagan artist and activist in rural Oregon. I'm due to get my top surgery on November 17th!
Unfortunately, I was recently let go from work after calling out transphobia & mistreatment in the workplace. I'll be unable to perform or otherwise work after my operation, so any bit of help is appreciated! I've listed ways folks can send funds or gifts to help me through prep & recovery!
My wish-list and other donation options: www.linktr.ee/casperoliver

15ish Years Post Op - Shadows' chest.
I decided to show you all my chest. It has been about 15ish years since my top surgery.

I lost 1 1/2 of my nipples during the healing process. After three or four years, I had them tattooed back on. My left looks near perfect to me, and that one was just a tiny little spot of nipple left. I know exactly it was 100% my fault. I was told to take the bandages off wet (you want to get into the shower with the bandages on and soak them through. The goal here is to gently part the bandage from your nipple skin without pulling or tearing your nipple skin), but my young self 'knew better' apparently. I also did not realize the 'scab looking' things were my actual nipples.
Before chest surgery I worked out a lot to build my chest up. The spots also have sensation in other ways as well.
Yes, I do feel more sensitive over the spots where my real nipples used to compared to the rest of my chest. I love chest rubs.
Listen to what the professionals have to say.
Some advice I have to help prevent losing your nipples after the flap procedure never take your bandages off dry (soak them as mentioned above), do not touch/pick at them (skin or bandages), not scratching when it itches even over the bandage, just let the soapy water cover your nipples when showering, and do not scrub, and follow surgeon's and nurses' orders of your chest/nipple care when you get home.
Good luck with your journey, everyone!
Stay Golden Everyone ✌️ 💙 💜
