I hate batman. A lot. I want to tear that man down, bit by bit. I want to write a story where he tries to kill the rest of the justice league in a paranoid haze, and then has to face consequences. I want him gone. Dead. Forever erased from existence. We keep the villains and maybe the supporting cast. We ditch him. We have to. He is one of my least favourite superheroes. He's always boring! So goddamn boring! I will preach until I'm dead: Get rid of batman!

Ditch the darkness! Give us more Superman and Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel/Shazam. DC should go back to their repository of old heroes, but leave batman the hell alone. Replace him with Wesley Dodds or something if we have to! But leave batman alone! Forever!

Batjokes is such a toxic ship it literally makes me sick.

Batman is abelist as shit and does not care about how the Joker's mental illness affects him and literally sends him to arkam assylum, an ABUSIVE INSANE ASSYLUM all the time. Like the treatment there is fucking inhumane and really demonizes mental illness. This point alone makes me sick.

The Joker needs someone who can keep up with his theatrics, someone who can stimulate his creativity. Batman never ONCE appreciates or acknowledges the work the Joker puts into their encounters or the dramatic flair behind it. (Yes I know he is killing people but 1. He struggles with a shit ton of untreated mental illness and 2. He just wants to be recognized by someone who gives a single shit about him. Like a crumb of attention or recognition, the man is starved for affection.)

What is the appeal??? Batman just beats the shit out of him like the abusive asshole he is.

This turned mostly into an anti-batman rant, but yeah. Fuck batjokes. Sidenote not saying people should ship the Joker with Harley either. That man is QUEER and Harley Quinn is toxic but nobody ever talks about that. (Taking advantage of her patient? Dating your client as a THERPIST is fucking grooming. End of story.) Anyway I have yet to see a good ship with the Joker when shipping him with other DC characters.

the only one who can defeat the joker is another joker.

Batman's efforts against joker are pointless because he's playing into exactly what joker wants and expects from him. Joker sets up elaborate unpredictable traps and Batman always comes in dark and brooding and serious- and that's just it. Batman's playing the game, he's falling for it everytime. The push and pull, the theatrical dramatics.

But if another joker were to go against joker, well. Jokers is unpredictable, not even the joker can predict what he'll do next. And it would certainly bum him out and piss him off to be faced with a mirror version of himself. It would throw him off his game. There is no game anymore, only chaos. And we'll, joker's not against using guns is he? So the more prepared Joker, the mirror version, would win.

I can't see them teaming up, though they might try. They would get on each other's nerves quickly, because Joker thinks he's the best at what he does and the competition would drive him to want to get rid of his double. He can't have anyone outdoing him can he?

And obviously there's only room for one Joker when it comes to his dear Batsy. He'd get jealous real fast.

Boom. Joker's dead, outplayed and smeared across Gotham's streets, and you can send the mirror version back to his dimension.

Then, without Joker, Batman can finally retire and we can finally finally start focusing on the new generation of vigilantes and heroes.

Batman can't be around forever, and it's time for people like Cassandra and Damian to get the spotlight.

I mean, Batman's not even really Batman anymore. He's not what he used to be. We all know that.

When the villians are more sympathetic than the hero, you've failed. They should be at least equally sympathetic. For example: let's look at Spiderman. Despite me not liking Steve Ditko's Spiderman, I've seen Spiderman tv shows and movies and games. And you know what? I like the villians (I like Doctor Octopus, Mysterio and the rest), but Spiderman is a sympathetic character. His school life, his family life, he's relatable. So you can root for both him and enjoy the villians.

Not the case with batman. With possibly two main exceptions (Adam West's Batman and Batman: The Brave and The Bold), Batman puts me to sleep. His villians are compelling. Batman beats up the mentally ill for a living, and we call him a hero. What have Scarecrow, Riddler, Joker, Mr. Freeze, Two-Face and The Mad Hatter all have in common? Oh, yeah. Clear signs of mental illness!

And don't tell me batman can't fix this! Arkham could be replaced with a functional care facility, but batman doesn't want to fix it. I honestly think he gets some sick pleasure from beating up the mentally ill. I really do think that. And that's why I want batman dead. I would not trust him if he were a real person and I don't trust him as a fictional character.

PS: Also, Stan Lee gave marvel a better "voice" than DC. DC is boring and hard to want to read. Marvel feels fun, bombastic and exciting! DC just shot themselves in the foot repeatedly. Their characters back in the 50s and 60s mostly feel like cardboard cutouts to me. Not the case at marvel.
