Anyone who thinks Union dues are a burden needs to know this fact right here right now - UNION DUES AREN’T A BURDEN.
I’ve been part of a union TWICE and I’ve worked a lot more non union jobs, so I want to take a moment and outline what union’s and by default paying union dues get you.
When I was part of a union my pay was at least $6 more than minimum wage
I had scheduled raises
The monthly cost of my health insurance was roughly $40
I had PENSIONS! Not just 401K’s, pensions, guaranteed money at a guaranteed rate of pay for retirement.
I was never asked or FORCED to work overtime (as I had been at other jobs) but I didn’t miss the overtime because my rate of pay was livable.
And if that wasn’t enough to convince you...
At my last union position as a para educator I was laid off due to COVID, however my union negotiated HARD with the school district and secured the rest of my contracted FIVE MONTHS OF PAY in return for me doing NINE days of work and then being on call for the district’s emergency childcare service.
Do you think I would have gotten an additional FIVE MONTHS of pay in return 9 days and on call work without a union? I know the answer, no!
My pension dues, in both cases were roughly $15 a month. So in the case of my last union I paid $180 and they secured me $9000 dollars I would have definitely lost once Covid hit. Now some would say but then you wouldn’t have to pay those months dues but I don’t know $75 seems like a small price to pay to essentially have five months off work paid.

Rich people essentially live in a cashless socialist utopia where everything is free and they can do whatever they want, while us dirty POORS have to barter our belongings, bodies, and souls just to exist.
I assure you, Jeff Bezos has never gotten a targeted ad encouraging him to donate plasma after he mentioned out loud he was running low on funds with his phone in his pocket.

So I was curious. Apparently, Jeff bezos makes something in the ballpark of 13 million dollars every fucking hour. Next, I checked the number of Amazon employees, which for 2020, was around 1.3 million. So with some simple math, if his entire salary went to the workers, every single one could make 10 more dollars every single hour.
Eat the rich.
