once again screaming crying throwing up about the fact that infinity train was prematurely cancelled despite being contracted for 5 seasons.

#infinity train #like i really really want all 8 seasons. & i really really want present day!amelia and all that would come with that (e.g. hazel and grace) #but i feel like i would be so much more content with the show's cancellation if we had the bow on top of it all that was the amelia season #because she was the villain from s1 #the fallout of her villanry births the antagonists from s2. #she appears again in s3 having moved on slightly and changed her outlook. thereby creating a somewhat optimistic outlook on the end point of #her story #and s4 shows (in parts) her descent into villany. #she's been the main reocurring presence in the whole show and her train motivation (unbearable grief) and villain arc are the most #complex the show would've handled #i truly believe that if they had been allowed to make it it would have served as a perfect ending to the show #because she's been built up for so long and because the writers would've had so much material to work with AND detail to pay attention to #it wouldve been spectacular.... and everything they wanted to explore in later seasons wouldve been so good too #(older tulip and revenge and acceptance of something as complicated as alzheimer's disease) #(and i also think it wouldve been neat for them to show us a glimpse of 40 y/o rymin cuz those boys have major issues still when they get #off the train #and so id like a snapshot of them in the future that shows they worked things out) #yeah. justice 4 infinity train justice 4 amelia hughes. i want to fuck that 60y/o deeply evil woman so badly and i need her back in my life

okay listen neil newbon would absolutely deserve to win best performance for astarion at the game awards and I’m going to applaud if and when he does. however. if devora wilde isn’t at least NOMINATED alongside him you can all expect me to make some angry posts about it.

#sorry if you didn’t like lae’zel (wrong opinion) but devora fucking KILLED that role. went into the woods and wrestled it into submission. #she sawed off its head and put it on a pike next to her tent. #they both gave incredible performances but i think lae’zel was a tougher role than astarion #because nobody pries at lae’zel. you have to tell a story with her to people who aren’t really interested in working for it #and so all those little mannerisms that make her feel really alive become much more important #the actual text of the dialogue can’t do as much heavy lifting because there just isn’t as much of it #so SO much of her character really comes from devora #while astarion’s chattiness means our impression of him comes much more evenly split from his writer and actor #who both did fantastic jobs!! again bg3 is an abundance of riches when it comes to exceptional performances #and I’m not even TOUCHING wyll or gale yet. i maintain that worm/infinity train should actually have a lot more community overlap because they’re both about universes that are largely realistic with the exception of one (1) added sci-fi element which is used as a narrative tool to reveal things about characters w/in the story

and in both cases the sci-fi element Specifically can be described as “at specific psychological low points in life, certain people have an incomprehensibly vast sci-fi element Do Something to them, and that Something serves as a narrative tool to reveal more about the psychological issue that triggered the sci-fi intervention.” worm characters hit their isolated psychological lows and get superpowers that ironically magnify and reflect their trauma/trauma symptoms, train characters hit their low-point crossroads in life and get slapped with numbers that indicate what’s going on in their psyche by changing as they get closer or farther to solving the issue which caused the crossroads. it’s incredibly easy to put worm characters on the train and train characters into worm!!! they’re similar media!!! i wanna see more worm/train crossover AUs!!! anyway i will put actual effort into a Train Characters Get Wormed post later when it’s not 4 am but i need everyone to know that jesse cosay is absolutely a master and it’s in a really fucked up ironic worst-habit-reinforcing way too

so i will say in my dragon a.ge verse amelia did not have a... smooth transition between kirkwall and joining the inquisition as its arm's master. amelia's role in the kirkwall rebellion and the events leading up to it was obviously not an innocent one. she profited greatly off of meredith's paranoias and thoughts of conspiracy and essentially functioned as a war profiteer ( lore accurate amelia trait ) while selling arms to the templars and allowing them to stockpile all manner of weapons.

in all likelihood, amelia would be facing some trial in the aftermath for her involvement in the rebellion. not only did she profit off of it, she ( at least in @ idolbound and i's verse ) would have aided meredith in the lead up to the rebellion ( notation, filing, wanted lists - writing and copying when meredith was too exhausted to ) and would have likely been made to pay reparations to the city of kirkwall to aid in its reconstruction.
