I heard my manager call me a "little Swiss army knife" to the (bigtime-ish, broadcast) video guy earlier and that might sound reductive or emasculating to someone else but that was fully the biggest compliment I've ever heard. Dude is one of the most knowledgeable and competent people I've met in the industry, and is deep deep in there, so if he finds me particularly skilled in a jack of all trades sort of way, like if I'm well versed in enough fields that he finds it acceptable, then I'm doing something fuckin right nahmean. Video guy joked that he (my manager) would probably steal me one day when he inevitably moves on and ngl that does sound pretty nice 🙂

Also flirted with a girl I work with and was oblivious enough to what the vibe has been between us that during literally Andrea Bocelli performing Ed Sheeran's part in Perfect she did the "take my hand" and put her hand in front of me and I was like "...?" and she just burst out laughing lmfao

I really wanted to do this ask game, so I've done it! Scarlet Hollow is one of my favorite games right now (second only to Deltarune). And I just wanted to have some fun, so here we go! Original was made by @juleshollow (thank you!!).

TRAITS:

Your "canon" trait combination? I have a couple different runs, and I haven't decided yet which is my "canon" playthrough, if there ever will be one. Regardless, I'm Powerful Build/Hot and Powerful Build/Keen Eye! (Will shorten Powerful Build to PB from now on. 🥜🧈)

What third trait would you add for hardcore mode? Tbh I haven't messed with hardcore mode yet. It's not too appealing for me (I am just not the type of gamer this mode is made for) because I feel like the consequences don't match the "crime". Conversely, I'm one of those dirty hackers who goes into the game files and changes the rules so that I can play with all 7 traits unlocked with no drawbacks. I've done this for a couple of playthroughs, but there's no combination that I super-like yet (though I will admit Mystic is a nice add-on to any existing combo). Once the game is all finished, I want to do a playthrough where I have all 7 traits and save the town. Not the hero Scarlet Hollow wants, but the hero we need. B) I will fix everything, goddamn.

What trait are you least drawn to? Probably Talk to Animals (TTA)? There are just other traits that I like more. If this game had more snakes in it, though, I'd certainly feel a different way. 🐍💕 Also, I was wary of Hot before I tried it, and still have some gripes with certain writing choices, but it's become one of my go-to traits.

Coolest trait? Fuckin PB, dude!! The one thing you always wish you could do in a horror movie, right? Be strong enough to punch the monsters in the face, beat the killers up, and it actually works! You really are strong enough, you really can protect! Maybe this says something about my psyche, or maybe I am just small and frail in real life, but dude I love to be the strong friend in this game. Also, I'm often drawn to the "regular" characters in horror/fantasy settings. Like, how does the guy without supernatural powers hold their own? What are they doing here? That's impressive and compelling.

ROMANCE:

Who are you romancing? Reese. Once he starts talking about horror movies, it becomes impossible to not kiss him.

What romance are you least interested in? I dunno? I'm probably not gonna do a Stella playthrough because I'm gettin Stabby back together if it kills me (if it kills me!). I like all the characters and think their romantic lives are interesting (I also really like Kaneeka/Reese. They are so nigthmare before christmas.)

Who would you romance if every single character was eligible? Probably Reese again LMFAO. On the real, maybe Winnie? Or Janey?

What character would hurt you the most if something bad happened to them? Tabitha. :(

Would you stay in Scarlet Hollow when the week is over? So, my MC is basically a fancharacter w/ his own personality distinct from mine. That's probably assumed, but I wanted to clarify for this question. I think w/ how things are currently going, he'll either choose to stay in The Holler after the week is through, or make some arrangement where he frequently visits. Him and Tabby are very close, so they will keep contact somehow. (And if you're thinking "lol, Tabby will probably be dead by the end of the game" well, my phrasing still stands, because he will visit Tabitha's grave every month with two cans of cream soda for them to share!! So who is laughing now!!!)

Yeah.. a giant teddy. That's how he's always seen him.. a giant fuckin softie. Even the first time he saw him.. talked with him.. shit.. the first time he talked with him was a blast. He felt like a stupid little wiggler the whole time.. and his heart felt like it was actually beating at a normal rhythm with how overjoyed he was at the guy *finally* coming up and talking with him. He was sitting down, playing with his sleeve as he was fighting to keep his eyes open. Being his friend.. but it never left his mouth. Instead, he felt himself start to slip into sleep.

Sanji has a rattata as his starting Pokémon. Its the only Pokémon in his team that does NOT fight no matter how much it tries its too little and weak (from bullying…) and it’s a companion pokemon to Sanji, he has his Combusken for real battles

Sanji runs away with the help of Reiju and becomes Zeff’s adoptive son, he receives Torchic from Zeff as a gift 🥺 and when Luffy comes barging into Cafe Baratie and demands to fight the owner and if he wins he gets free food

Zeff chortling battles with Sanji versus Luffy and Zoro in a double battle and Luffy wins and does indeed get his free food

Amused, Zeff tells Sanji it would be nice if he could join those nice kids, hes around the age where he should go on his pokemon adventure, make friends because the Luffy kid already had his eye on Sanji anyway

Begrudingly and after a tear filled goodbye to Zeff, Sanji joins Luffy, Zoro and Nami

i'm only gonna do snowbaz, and also these are just in order of how recent they are bc i dont know how to rank them lol

1. Something's Gotta Give Now (T), 7k

this is my most recent snowbaz fic and i really really liked writing it. it's an au, and i don't really want to give too much away because part of what i like about this fic is the way the backstory unravels. but the gist is: baz plays a sexy, angsty vampire on a popular tv show, and simon is very bitter and very funny about it.

i did this after not writing snowbaz for a while, so i feel like i was able to return to the characters with fresh eyes and some broken bad habits. the third person is nice too -- i definitely write more cleanly in third. it's definitely not crack (which was my original intention lmfao, it's technically my crackfest entry), but im not really mad about it. i gave up on my ability to not to take it seriously about 500 words in. also, there's a second chapter that it just unhinged shit lmfao.

2. The Places We Build (T), 4k

this fic plays with the idea of: what if simon and baz decided in their first year at watford that they didn't want to hate each other? what if everything was the same, except nothing was the same, because they were friends? i like it because i feel like it has a strong heartbeat. i love to see how much of a world i can create in the least amount of words, and there's a looooot of history packed into these 4k words. very tender. very cuddly :)

3. love means slowly using losing your mind (E), 8k

this one was so fun to write. another au -- baz is a wedding planner, simon is penny/sheps best man (yes, both of them). it's loosely based on THAT scene from the movie 27 Dresses (iykyk) but it stands on its own. i like how i leaned into the setting here -- it feels like a very accessible world to me, like you could close your eyes and see the pub. and also i really just like to put my blorbos in a situation where they get drunk and have fun hahaha. as always, shit gets kind of real and snowbaz are their usual intense selves. also there's awkward car sex, which was hilarious to write.

4. Jump Up, Chosen One! (T), 8k

dude. what the FUCK was i on here..... this is perhaps the most plot-driven thing i've ever written, while also being one of the WEIRDEST things ive ever written. the premise is: simon goes off, trapping him, niall, dev, and baz in a Super Mario Bros game. and like. it's silly, yeah. but when i read back through im always like -- oh, ok, there's a lot of heart in this! good job rory! more reasons to love: lots of fun niall & dev screen time, simon solving problems thru the power of Being Determined, a tender moment that i interrupt several times by reminding you that simon and baz do indeed look like mario characters, penny solving problems thru the power of Being Clever, and a surprise tonal shift at the end lmfao. idk man. there's a lot going on here and i think it's p sweet.

5. In black ink my love may still shine bright (M), 5k

even though i hate that i used a fuckin long ass shakespeare quote as a title (lmao. like it fits and i love that sonnet but still. tacky !), this fic is great. @starwarned and i talk a lot about the power of The Slutty M-Rated Fic, and this is my best work in that regard. post-awtwb, date night -- they get ice cream and go to a bar and... shenanigans ensue. it's sweet and happy and nothing bad happens. NICE. the e-rated sequel is the first smut i ever wrote. i was so nervous about it. look at me now.... our resident blood slut LMAO.

my thoughts after watching eternals for the 2nd time:

visual effects are fuckin cool and the music is so epic like it gives me goosebumps every time i see the intro where they land on earth

ikaris was sus af the whole time ig i was too distracted by the deviants when i watched it for the first time lmao

thena and gilgamesh's relationship is gonna make me cry (i only saw their relationship as a platonic one but i can see how people could interpret it to be romantic now)

the more i think about it the deviant subplot felt underused like i thought it was going somewhere but then the deviant just....died and i'm here like, Bruh™

i love dane whitman he's so adorable and i absolutely cannot wait to see more of him someone let that man become a giraffe

kingo is comedic gold, i love the levity he brings to the film. would've been nice if he were in the final act though, mostly bc his decision to fall back felt kinda...weird and out of place

the scene where makkari finds the emergence point is still the most epic scene ever the rush i felt while watching it was sublime

i wish makkari was more developed as a character
