But anyway, back to the present!

No hot white women were written in the text. Just a bunch of Vampires who form an anti-Bright Eyes committee™ as soon as they arrive. They ignore Bright for the most part which eventually leads the not-so-Newborn-anymore to the farthest end of Wonderworld where a babe is just chilling beside the vegetation-conquered carousel. Score one for the plants.

And the first thing that escapes from Bright's mouth is, "Good evening. May I inquire if you're a quirked up white woman that can bust it down sexual style so that I can get lost in the sauce?"

The scowl vanishes instantly. Like a father who went out to buy milk.

Bright has to give blondie some credit; she takes their nonsensical answer in stride and with an eyebrow raised.

"I'll take that as a yes. You fit the rumours at least."

"No surprise there. I bet Sammy did everything he could to hide you from me. He thinks he's protecting you, but all he did was made me curious."

politics readmore. talking about conservates that aren't [solely] racist fundies

if you actually listen to what conservatives say, and value (besides racism both implicit and overt), it's not a mystery why they think the way they do. they want their labor to be valued, and paid fairly. this is something anyone wants. the thing is, they believe that under socialism, their labor will be exploited without compensation to take care of people that just don't want to work. regardless of whether that's true - or which financial system it best describes - doesn't the idea suck? i'd hate that too.

furthermore, they understand that more and more of the country is voting democratic, and that they are a minority. the thing is, this doesn't make them wonder if they're wrong, because they believe most of the population is stupid. many republicans are boomers saying "kids these days," and many younger republicans are the "kids" in question trying desperately not to seem stupid like the rest of their generation. i remember being a teenager and doing horrible things in the name of being mature, because i was terrified of being disrespected and not taken seriously by adults i valued and respected. if those adults had been conservative, it's entirely possible that i would've adopted a sneering mindset, to ingratiate myself to them. maybe you wouldn't have done that. but i might have. and many people have done so. even if they're their twenties, they still value the wisdom of their family, and they disregard ideas that their family tells them are stupid.

if you go on reddit's front page, maybe 40% of the content you'll see right away is depicting people as stupid. "mildly infuriating," "am i the asshole," "petty revenge," "kids are fucking stupid," "insane parents," so on and so forth. all of these have communities built around humiliating the people posted there, with varying degrees of intensity. on subreddits like aita, you get upvotes for being snappy enough in your response, and the highest upvoted comment in the replies is given an award.

this is not, in itself, conservative propaganda. in fact, many people participating are leftists, and there are many subreddits like r/therightcantmeme that are explicitly leftist in nature, and are built around public humiliation. i don't associate this behavior exclusively with being liberal or conservative, but i don't consider it apolitical either. rather, i think it fosters a growing misanthropy within us - one that's been a part of western culture since before America even existed, but is being fed by the internet like mold on a rotting apple.

how many people do you know that have been the target of widespread online humilation? who have been the day's top idiot on the front page? i don't know anyone who has personally (and i'm grateful for that, because the long term psychological effects of that are absolutely devastating and i wouldn't wish them on anybody) and you likely know very few such people, if anyone at all. out of the people you meet, almost none are catastrophically stupid or rude enough to catch the internet's attention.

but 1% of the population is still a lot of people. if you've been conditioned to believe that that 1% represents a high percentage of society (ever heard the phrase "imagine how stupid the average person is - 50% of the population is dumber than that"?), why would you be surprised that over 50% of the country is "voting like idiots"? if you genuinely believe most people around you are so stupid they're a danger to others, why would you value their opinions, or let them tell you you're wrong about anything? hell, why would you want them to be allowed to vote at all, whether they're ex-convicts or just regular "dangerous idiots"? you comfort yourself that you're a bastion of rationality. it keeps you sane within your fear.

this misanthropy is a major part of the internet feedback loop. you're engaged by seeking negativity, and you're rewarded for being cruel in a funny way as a response. and by funding and perpetuating it, those with greater financial and political sway are able to keep a frothing, terrified base that's willing to tread the path of religious fundamentalism to protect themselves and their loved ones from what they perceive to be the greater danger.

it's part of why i hate the way many people mock conservatives. not that i pity the conservatives in question, but i know "information" (witty tweets) is being shared under the premise of enlightening people and making them rethink their positions... it's just an excuse to laugh at them and feel better about yourself. some ex-conservatives DID rethink their positions from those witty one liners, and i commend them for it, because god knows if someone mocked me for my beliefs i would just get defensive. you're not really trying to help.

the average reddit liberal has a lot of fun saying "you can't actually believe the cheeto in the white house wanted to help you. he literally made his ex partners get abortions" or whatever in the same tone that another person would use to tell me i can't possibly believe there's more than two genders. there's a difference. one is factually correct, and the other is a biological essentialist with a less-than-eighth-grade understanding of biology. but that doesn't mean it's much better.

Log 11.09.81 21:19: Well, been a massive fucking day. Bypassed the Securitrons at the entrance to the Strip, mostly because I could. Victor was waiting on the other side. Mr. House is evidently still alive, I has brushed it off as a tall tale. Really THE Mr. House!

It turns out that the platinum chip I was carrying is basically a hyper advanced holotape. Needs to be read using special drivers, which only exist in a few places from what I gathered. The Securitrons, already deadly robots, are now upgraded to Mk. II. I had long wondered why they had such excessive shoulders. Turns out they are loaded with explosive weaponry.

Using evidence I've gathered along the trail I convinced Benny's number two to help me put. Ambushed him in his room. Tried to slip away the snake. Ended up becoming a shootout, old Tesla Six finished him off. Turns out he'd been bugging Mr. House's secure channels with a Securitron of his own.

Spoke with a Followers doctor and bugged Mr. House myself actually. Just getting info on his medical technology. Unfortunately that did not get us very far. Oh well it was worth a shot. Also spoke to a NCR official and recieved an official pardon for the whole Crimson Caravan thing. Ambassador Crocker wanted me to come speak to the Boomers up at Nellis AFB. Wants them to use their munitions against Legion. Sounded like a deal to me.

Oh and Legion approached me too. I killed that son of a bitch. "Ceasar has pardoned you." You don't get to back down just because I'm cozying up closer to Mr. House. Gonna be his protégé from the sound of it! Got my own place in the Lucky 38 too. Seriously nice place, I think Victor has been reporting back to House on my exploits.

I needed to go to Nellis anyway and search for that last patrol. Made through the artillery but no sign of the Paladins. Evidently we're the first that's been there in decades. Used my medical training to patch up some of their injured. Evidently some giant ants have setup shop in their generator room. Gonna make my own assault on it tomorrow. Loyal, the second in command as far as I can tell gave me a device, helped him tune the frequencies. Should kill every last ant in the nest. Gonna repair the solar arrays while I'm over there too.

Levi responded he takes an hour long baths because his snake-like skin will turn dry and he can't have that. So yeah those headcanons about Levi being dirty are dumb. This is a bit of a rant but I seriously hate how Levi is written in fanon. It's either he's stinky, a crybaby or just a hermit and that's not even the scent of his character. I at least do write him according to his character. Sure he 's much more sensitive than his brothers and easily cries but he doesn't like do it all the time. That is why I seriously dislike fanon things they usually ruin everything. So yep those are my points, I don't intend to be a jerk to the creators just pointing out how I feel with Levi in fanon. Or fanon in general.

And honestly yeah sadly every character’s kind of reduced to some over-simplified version or even straight up mischaracterized by fanon to some degree. It doesn’t help that a lot of content is locked away either by time (chat messages), effort (the fucking grind to get your cards strong enough to get through main story), and luck and/or money (the Devilgrams). And even then what sticks is usually the very obvious and the easy to portray—like how Lucifer ends up a boring boomer workaholic even though he definitely has a playful side that just wants to let loose, Satan gets reduced to being a cat-obsessed bookworm even though he’s much more than that and has interests outside of books and cats, Asmo turns into the queer trendy bestie that everyone forgets is also the most openly unhinged out of the brothers, and the most baffling of all, a super innocent and shy Simeon that seems to be based purely on the fact that he’s an angel.

Also Diavolo isn’t stupid. He’s sometimes clueless but the man’s just sheltered, not an idiot. Depending on how you understand some chapters, it becomes clear that there’s a very good chance that he intended for everything in Ch 12-16 to happen just to help out Lucifer and his family. Yet he also has some semblance of regret in him as seen in S2 in that conversation with MC in the Coliseum, though it’s up to you whether you think his regret involves what he did in S1 or of it’s just him wondering if it was a good choice to emotionally blackmail Lucifer into become his right hand man forever.

It gets frustrating when it becomes all you see. Sure, there’s content where it’s fun but when it becomes clear that it’s actually what most fans think of them, it gets old and makes you wonder if people are looking at the same material as you. And, well, it makes things repetitive and boring and sometimes it makes the devs bite and pander, thereby reducing your fave’s complexity over time instead of fucking adding to it. So I get your frustration because it frustrates me sometimes too :/

Like people can write what they want and do what they want, in the end it’s all just good fun and everyone’s desperate to get their share of serotonin to get by. But I also can’t help but wish that, y’know, we get to see more dimension written into the characters in fandom-made work more often. I deeply enjoy world-building and theorycrafting and character analyses for this reason, plus work that explores parts of the cast that are only mentioned in passing or by other characters. The Admiral Levi talk I’ve been seeing is really nice and I’ve seen someone trying to create and flesh out Beel’s fangol team, which I honestly wish the devs would get into too. Would also kill for more canon Asmo and Beel character development >.>;; They really need it.

Anyways with that off my chest: YAY! MICHEAL WAS SAVED! Not only that but redemption arcs all around! Honestly, Eret's story is one of the more interesting ones to me, and seeing their redemption arc take a turn like this, oh gods above and below, how exciting! She did fantastically and his sacrifice tugged at the non-existent heartstrings. Thankfully they had a stasis chamber at the ready. To be honest, I wouldn't have been ready if Eret's story ended there. I'm glad she got the chance to shine through and even that moment where they felt betrayed and now understood how the others felt during the Final Control Room, oh poetic, so poetic. Eret, you wonderful human being, thank you so much and looking forward to more stuff from our king, praise be. Alright, Techno and Tubbo, okay, okay, okay, that, oh my gods, that was wholesome. Like apologies all around and banding together to save Micheal and take revenge for Ranboo? ow, ow, ow, my non-existent heart. Again. Him and Tubbo somewhat talking it out and Techno and Eret apologizing to Tubbo for their actions redeems Techno in my eyes a wee bit. (just a little bit, just a little). But yeah, having him come along and help save Micheal to also avenge Ranboo, that was awesome. Sam, Sam, Sam, Sam. You, uh, kinda got what you deserved. Like I get why he did those things, I don't agree with it and my heart is screaming for AweSamDad and the AweSamFam (Consisting of Sam, Quackity, Hannah, Boomer, and Tommy). But then you took Micheal and killed his chicken? Inexcusable. Suffer. But in all seriousness, Sam did end up serving as a sort of final hammer in the Micheal linchpin for folks to actually start coming together and reconciling. What happens to him will be pretty interesting going forward. I would love to see where Sam goes from here, if he is redeemed or doubles down. And with that, I don't know about you guys, but with how wholesome that ended up being, I'm terrified. It was too wholesome, where's the angst? where's the big hurt coming in? BATON DOWN THE HATCHES AND PREPARE FOR THE ONCOMING STORM OF PAIN!!!!!
