QUICKLY, he was learning that sharing bathrooms sucked. he’d already been used to it in high school and even at home, but even then he waited until everyone was out to even undress. he didn’t have that luxury in college. showering early or really late at night seemed to be the only viable choices.

the only thing that sucked about college other than . . coed bathrooms and more peer pressure than high school was seeing maddy. he’d been trying to avoid her, out of fear of not knowing what to say now that they’d broken up but when she showed up in the bathrooms while he was in there it was difficult. he didn’t feel clean unless he used the only shower that was pretty much everyone’s favourite, it had the hottest water and he’d thought he’d been alone before he heard her voice, his own stopping the tune he’d been carrying while washing his hair. “ it’s never stopped you before. “ he wasn’t phased by her seeing him nude, as he would be with most people, his eyes shut tightly as his head tipped forward to rinse the soap suds from his hair, having already washed his body. grabbing the towel he hung by the shower, he stepped out, coming closer to her than he had in a long time, willing a slightly crooked grin to lift the corners of his mouth, “ it’s all yours. “

Sam rubbed his hand against the back of his neck, he kicked one of his feet against the ground, he closed his eyes, and a sigh left his lips. “I haven’t tried to fix you,” he said, his voice almost breaking as he spoke, and he felt the anger build inside of him, and as it did, he knew that his eyes were going to tear up. “All I’ve done is to tell you that you deserve more, better,” he said, hands thrown up in the air, “that you are better than you think.” He rubbed his fingers together, he wasn’t sure on what exactly it was that Maddy meant when she accused him of trying to fix her.

“You should believe that you are better,” he said, “that you actually deserve good things.” Sam ran a hand over his shoulder, “and you know me, and if I’m trying to fix you,” he said, he wet his lips, “then I’m trying to fix all my friends because I want the same for them.” He looked down on the ground, “But maybe you’re right maybe I shouldn’t try and do that for you since you don’t want me too, so why not just end things since you don’t want me to be myself.”

positivity for fuckingconfident : @fuckingconfident is a real one! their maddy is absolutely iconic, and the mun themselves is crushing it when it comes to their pursuit of their schooling and career. i love writing with their maddy, and they always bring a really interesting dynamic to the character, and you literally can hear her through whatever she writes. outside of that, just talking to roxy is awesome, she's just an all around cool person.
