I can see him liking someone who depends on him but at the same time likes independent people? Like he wants to be useful for someone but also doesn’t want to do everything for them y’know?

Someone who can just handle him in general tbh, he can be a real asshole and have emotional outbursts at times. He wants someone he can rely on to not leave him in his darkest moments.

I feel like he loves being bothered but in the right way if that makes sense? Like if he’s hiding something and you’re able to break down his defenses and get the truth out of him it just proves how good you are with him ig?

If you two are so close that she can simply give you a look and you immediately understand what’s on her mind.

ohh uhm,,, got any thoughts about tpn in general? Like I said I’ve only seen s1 of the anime but I’d love to her ear thoughts about any part of it if you have some!

I think i’ve said this before , but ,, in all honesty , season 1 of the anime is probably the best TPN was , both in regards to the anime and the manga . i don’t know if i even have the words to explain whyy i love the first season so much , but i’ll sure as heck try :]c

I think ,,, aside from loving the style , aside from the pretty backgrounds , and aside from the soundtrack that i listened to on repeat during the pandemic bc i had to have background music without words but i’m too picky for most instrumentals-- AHEM -- i think the tone set was INCREDIBLE . and soooo very well done

All the elements of that first season came together to form ,,, mostly , one tone , that fluctuated a bit . “helplessness” mixing with “determination” . AND with each fluctuation in tone , when you think about it , it was undoubtedly the intention -- but the fact that they pulled if off so well ,,, is incredible. For example , the determination when the fullscore trio did their plans to help norman escape -- versus the utter hopelessness it makes YOU feel (alongside the characters) when norman becomes aware of the pit between the wall and the forest. That moment -- the expressions, reactions, words and lack thereof -- sort of emmerse you, and make you put yourself in the shoes of those kids. 11 years old, being farmed like animals, their plans of escape crumbling right in front of them , being completely unable to help their best friend escape what had to be certain death !!!

ALSO IN GENERAL ,,,, i really love the characters relationships with each other . manga-only characters included , it's just all neat and imo thoroughly thought into . be it norman's admiration for emma , or emma's ability to rely on phil , or yuugo's relationship with the little kids!!!!! it's all primarily sweet , and i adore the familial aspects of it all !!!!

It’s been a while since i’ve read the manga ,, i think i started to catch up in 2019, and read it practically religiously until it completed in 2020 ,, i’m also not fresh on season 2 , since that was released in 2021 , but i also watched that practically religiously (despite wearing a “?????” expression for the majority of it /lh) . I think ,,,, from what i remember , the manga was good up until ??? like, chapter 110, something like that. The Goldy Pond arc was great !!!!! The characters are all really well written ,,,, despite there being like , well over 30 characters overall , they each have good , distinct personalities !!! Goldy Pond, and up until the death of several bigger supporting characters, it was all really well-written, well-executed, etc!!! I think ,,, in my opinion, the death of the two father figures, was ,,,, unnecessary , and used to ,,, i don’t even know . used to make the reader feel emotions ?? i don’t remember clearly , like i said , but i think i recall having this opinion from the moment i read their deaths. Which YEAH it was sad, i cried, and there’s even a scene directly afterward that was (putting the rushed and unnecessary) deaths aside really really good . but , after that ,,,, i think i felt the writing was ?? ,, not executed well ,,, ? the plot is overall super interesting, and ultimately i can’t recall exactly how some things were executed, but i disliked the execution. ESPECAILLY imo of the very end. It felt like ,,, it wasn’t thought-through, and made sort of ,,, reaches ?? to make us feel sad , and to give us a more bittersweet-leaning-bitter ending… ?? which i’m all for bittersweet endings , but just ,,,,,, it could have been done so much better , and even with a completely different plot , and still kept the bittersweetness ,,

#i also feel strongly about yuugo's character . and emmas normans and ray's character development #GOSH do i feel strongly about their character development ... #FLYNN NEEDS TO WATCH THE LIVE MOVIE WITH ME .... i need to watch it but god knows i don't know if i can do it alone without exploding into #a million tiny pieces of thoughts and opinions HAHAH /j /lh

182 Days of TPN - Day 119

Chapter 119: “Encounter”

Ever since the escape, the WM pen gave Emma hope, insight and a sense of direction, so seeing her drop something she held onto so tightly now that Norman is back is kinda satisfying I guess? He checks off all those boxes for her sorta. She doesn’t ditch it completely though as we see it used later on before the GF raid.

Goes without saying but the reunion was done so much better in manga. All the emotion from Emma reflecting on their time apart hits so hard and of course seeing all the tears they’re shedding contributes to all that too. Also love how they decided to give this moment a double spread as it helps convey that there’s no longer any space between them. The only thing that would’ve made this scene better (for me) is if Emma had knocked ‘em both down to the floor. I know Norman became taller and probably a bit stronger physically since Lambda, but with the amount of speed and force Emma is putting into that hug I’m surprised he’s still standing.

At least the anime remembered his squishy cheeks.

I know this is a very touching moment but honey, why do you gotta say this so causally?? You’re sure as hell ain’t gonna get it back either!

I guess another reason why the manga handles this whole reunion better is that it includes everyone, not just Emma & Ray. Yeah the anime had the escapees see Norman later at that temple they were hiding at, but it didn’t feel the same. As much as I can appreciate the fullscore trio having their own little moment for themselves, I like seeing everyone’s reactions all at once since there’s a wide range of emotions on display here. Emma also looks so pleased with herself with how large their family has become.

I wish there were more chapters focusing on Norman’s time at Lambda. With how closely he was being watched, I can’t help but wonder how he managed to efficiently communicate with Vincent and Smee and how he orchestrated the whole escape without raising suspicions from the demons and Ratri clan working there. (remember when i said no human (on our side) has killed another? well, i forgot about this whole scheme.. so it seems norman has quite the kill count, even if those were done indirectly by an explosion.)

Few chapters ago I wondered if Hayato & Jin knew to look for the escapees based on seeing Norman’s ID or if he told them both what to look for, and though I believed the latter was the valid reason, I can’t doubt the first option now either since his number is in plain sight. I know he typically hides it when outside paradise when attacking farms and making deals with demons so perhaps that’s why I even questioned it in the first place.

And to absolutely no one’s surprise, of course Ray slapping the hell outta Norman is my favorite. The anime pales in comparison to the sheer amount of power and lowkey rage behind manga!Ray knocking this boy on his ass. The shock on everyone’s face is hilarious as well. At least Norman is a good sport about it.

The rest of this moment is still sweet though, like Norman quoting the letter he left Emma and seeing my boy finally break and have some tears flowing makes me wanna hug him.

To hear the boy who cursed his life and had plans to end it all come around and say he’s happy to be alive is just.. aaahh so so very important!!!!

I do like how the anime gave us a better look at his face with this line though.

And I got nothing against the panel of Emma down below (because it is adorable how she questions her sudden inclusion in the hug), but I love how relieved she is upon hearing such words from Ray.

Stupid is a term of endearment. And I wish I could say we can never let this trio be separated ever again but.. you know. Stuff happens.

Summary: What it’s like going to school with the fullscore trio!

The four of you definitely walk/take the bus to school together.

If you guys have any classes together they’ll literally beg the teacher to have the whole gang sit together. And if the teacher says no they’ll move seats anyway.

In PE you guys are the group that runs together at the same pace, and if any of you need a moment to walk then everyone stops. You’re also always in groups together.

All of you go to each other’s houses to study/catch up on work so often that there’s at least one object that belongs to everyone in everyone’s house. Your house is the one most often picked so there’s just a stack of books that belong to Ray, a rubix cube and board games that Norman brought one time when you guys had nothing else to do, and Emma has left so many clothes behind they just stay hung up in your closet.

The school library is your guys’ hang out spot and nobody can change my mind.

Sometimes you and Emma keep a close eye on the bathroom during lunch to see who’s making out (or doing other stuff if y’know what I mean) and gossip about whether they’re a good couple or not and when you two think they’ll break up.

You guys definitely hold spots for each other in the lunch line.

One time your parents were late to pick you up after school so the rest of the group stayed and waited with you, even though they ended up being yelled at by their own parents.

Norman and Ray are your go-to people when you’re struggling with an assignment. They’ll explain it over and over, being patient with you, and if you still don’t understand they’ll just do it for you.

The 4 of you have been named the Straight A Squad by other students.

You guys know everything about everyone, due to Emma being friends with everyone and you, Norman, and Ray constantly observing from afar.

Daily hugs! It’s a routine at this point.

Walking each other to class when you 4 have to separate!

If one of you gets in trouble, all of you get in trouble. No buts.
