The Mari Lwyd is a South Wales wassailing folk custom dating back to at least 1880, consisting of a hobby horse with a real horse skull mounted on a pole, carried by someone hidden beneath a sackcloth. The end result is so delightfully creepy that I of course had to try my hand at it. Merry Christmas! Drawn with metallic gold calligraphy ink with a paintbrush and dip pen, Prismacolor pencils, white gel pen and Copic markers on smooth Bristol board with just a tiny bit of digital tweaking. I had a *lot* of fun with this.
