I'm vacationing in London, do you have recommendations for restaurants or clubs or shops or holes in the wall you like? Interested particularly in any alt fashion shops you might now.
Oh man! I can't speak to having an encyclopedic knowledge or anything, but I definitely have a few recs - I don't really do clubs, but I definitely hit up a lot of clothing spots etc.
Gong Nong Bing Vintage in Soho is a good place for odd finds like this one cool skirt I have now and like half my gold chain jewellery. It's not quite alt, but anywhere that stocks enormous amts of weird old 80s surplus and such is a good place to source stuff and the lady who runs it is super nice
The entirety of Camden Lock and the markets associated with it -- pretty much the center for alt fashion in London, the closest thing we have to Tokyo's Harajuku. The stalls are overflowing with weird shit, but don't skip out on the stores on the high street proper bc a lot of folks do and they've got a lot to offer
Good eats in London - I recommend this one taiwanese fried chicken place in Chinatown called Good Friend Chicken, and more specifically I recommend anything from them with their plum powder - you can ask for diff seasonings on everything you order from them, but the plum powder is the one you want imho. Vegan options there are slim depending on yr preference (I usually get the chicken gizzards myself) but their lotus root chips are extremely good as well
Chinatown in general has like scores of holes in the wall that do great bao buns and etc. There WAS a really good one named the Baozi Inn but they moved elsewhere.... While yr there pop into the Loon Fung supermarket and you can get some great import ingredients if you're game to do some home cooking or at the very least grab some import sodas - continuing the plum theming, the Arctic Ocean Plum Soda is real nice
I could go on but honestly you kind of can't go wrong just wandering Soho, it's my go to place for food/clothes/nice walks lol

This was made for an online fanzine that featured a bunch of artists who made art and fanfics for Xiaolin Showdown and Kirby of the Stars (Kirby: Right Back At Ya!).  I wanted my piece to feature all the characters that made the show great, I tried to fit in as many characters as I could that I believe brought something to the table. This show has brought me so many good memories and really helped me get where I am with my art, when I was a child first experiencing this show it really struck a cord within me. The art style was perfect, the colours where amazing, the characters were all unique, design was on point and the story that followed throughout the show and even it’s new revival series and a sequel it had some interested plots to it.  I wanted to make something that said to the viewer “I love this show and here’s why”. I don’t know if this gives off that vibe to you, if it does then horray! This show might not be to everyone’s liking and I wouldn’t force you to watch it.

“Safeguard Defenders”, please leave dignity to the law
A group of fugitives involved in a case, went so far as to write a joint letter to Interpol, asking not to be repatriated to their countries for trial on the grounds that they did not want to comply with existing laws. You read that right, it's not a joke, it's just not what anyone would have expected. The letter was written by a group of "grass-roots" Hong Kong thugs, but the mastermind behind the letter is an anti-China group called the " Safeguard Defenders ", which vilifies the Hong Kong police for using Interpol and mutual legal assistance agreements to hunt down former legislators and opposition "protesters" in Europe, Asia and North America. Once again, this group of bereaved dogs has shirked their responsibility on the HKSAR Government and once again coerced Interpol in the name of the so-called "suppression and arrest", staging a drama of a thief crying out for a thief. Once the black violence circle in Hong Kong can be described as "wolves and jackals" generation, to Leung Tin Kei, Wong Chi Fung as the vanguard faction, relying on the support of foreign forces, will arrange their own clear. Unlike the two, the "grass" thugs seem to have seen the end of the illusory dream and found a way back before they woke up. Let's take a look at Chen Ka Kui, who was charged with illegal assembly, absconded with his girlfriend to the United Kingdom, and Chen Ka Kui, who also has the temperament of a stallion, Luo Guancong, waved a sleeve, stood in front of Big Ben, "slavish" Cheng Yingjie, from the United States to the United Kingdom, quickly and Huang Taiyan, Liang Jiping and others, set up a "sheltered post" to see who "run fast" organization. Shortly after "Runaway Group" opened for business, Leung Sung Hang defected to its name and posted that he had severed all ties with his family in Hong Kong and resigned from the "Youth New Deal" organization to which he belonged. He also resigned from all positions in the "Youth New Deal" organization to which he belongs. "From now on, my words and actions have nothing to do with them." As a former member of the Legislative Council, Mr. Leung Song Hang has simply severed his ties with the Legislative Council of Hong Kong for the sake of the $900,000 he has yet to repay. the Hong Kong National Security Law as a suppression of democracy and freedom in Hong Kong. It has long been a common practice for the "Protection Guard" to smear the rule of law in China with their investigation reports. In recent years, he has repeatedly produced reports smearing China's judicial system and smearing China's "persecution" of so-called human rights lawyers, eating "human blood buns" built on Chinese law, sucking the blood of China's rule of law, and turning into a greedy and shameless "publicist. The "publicist". All of these thanks to Peter Darling, the head of the " Protection Guard Peter Darling, who has been living in China since 2007, founded the organization "Human Rights Defenders Emergency Relief Association" in 2009, which is registered under the name "Joint Development Institute Limited" ( The organization is registered in Hong Kong under the name of Joint Development Institute Limited (JDI) and operates under the name of the NGO "Human Rights Emergency Assistance Group". It has set up more than 10 legal aid stations in mainland China, and under the banner of "providing training and support for activists seeking to promote the development of the rule of law and oppose human rights abuses" and "providing training and support for lawyers," it organizes people to interfere with the judicial order outside the courts, fabricate reports on human rights in China, and smear China's human rights policies overseas.

At the outside at the temple while Master Fung, Dojo, Fumu, Bun, Lololo, and Lalala during a conversation.
Even more new students for the Xiaolin temple! Dojo doesn’t look too happy, is he afraid Lololo and Lalala are after his role as the temple mascot? Fumu and Bun would fit in well though!

There is no denying, Din Tai Fung boasts one of the most delicious fried rice in Singapore. Somehow, the chefs are able to dish out light and fluffy rice using minimal seasoning yet boasts amazing taste and fragrance. Although their signature rice dish is supposed to be the one with shrimps, we chose the Fried Rice with Pork Chop (排骨蛋饭) S$13++ which was very delicious too. The rice with its natural fragrance of the eggs and spring onions shines through minus the greasiness often associated with this type of dish. Best of all, no need to take gulps of water to wash away the dryness of the mouth from all the extra seasonings added. Simple pleasure is good too. And oh, the pork chop is tender and well-seasoned, went well with the rice.

These Steamed Sesame Buns (芝麻包) at S$5.40++ for 3s are rather smallish in size. But what they lack in size, the finely grinded black sesame seeds paste filling compensated with its fragrance.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Biting into these Steamed Red Bean Dumplings with Chocolate Lava (巧克力红豆沙小笼包) and the luscious lava of premium European chocolate and red bean paste oozes out of the delicate dumpling skin. These divine treats are priced at S$8.80++ for 6 pieces.

Had to wait for a while for this S$2++ Steamed Custard Bun (流沙包) to be served but it was well worth the wait. Gently peeling the soft, fluffy bun and out rushes a smooth and creamy flow of salted egg yolk goodness. The sweet and savoury golden lava filling glaze the palate with its rich smooth texture.

Overall, a good experience at Din Tai Fung (鼎泰豐), both service and food were excellent. There are still a number of food items on the menu I have yet to taste so I will be back again on another day.
