i just found a lump right at the base of peach's throat. it was his 2nd birthday like 2 days ago. he's been so so skinny recently and no matter how much we feed him he just won't put on weight and i just found a lump at the base of his throat.

started reading the third book in the Aubreyad and I am again surprised by how quickly and thoroughly it has grabbed my heart again with just how lovely all these people are!

not only Stephen and Jack but all the rest as well! though it was about these two when my heart first did that little twist of joy as it was confirmed right on the first pages that Jack is Stephen's best friend in the world now (we knew that but still nice to hear). their love for each other is so present even as they are seperated.

when Jack thinks about Stephen and the first thing he misses about him are his snide remarks, that was just so sweet, honestly (Jack is being surrounded by people he barely knows and who try to maintain professional distance and admiration towards him and so he misses Stephens candidness)

I mean, I totally feel the same as in that I think the moment in the first book where Stephen calls Jack an overweight, red faced man in front of all his subordinate officers (not as a slight but as a medical opinion) was the most funny and endearing thing ever!

and then, Jack's letter to Sophia! where he straight up tells her, he almost started crying as his officers congratulated him for his engagement to her <3 he wears his heart on his sleeve and I love him for that.

I'm still at the very beginning and am really looking forward to Jack rescuing my poor little Stephen from terrible torture.

their reunion is going to be very sweet, I'm sure.
