i got distracted so heres my chayanne and tallulah designs ive tried to whip up

ive had tallulah's design for a while now, im starting with her first, i wanted to show her development and transition into fully phil's daughter. also tallulah's dad is hatsune miku, i think thats funny. so her younger naive self is more in line with miku's core desgin (collared shirt with tie, sleeves, boots and pleated skirt) she also has more saturated colors and her hair is undyed. the design on the left is her more emo older self when shes fulyl considered to be phil's and missa's daughter. so more darker purples and more greener elements. the silohuette is kinda like miku with the legwarmers, collared shirt and pleated skirt, but its layers over with the shirt and cape. also she 's meant to be a raven (all my og egg designs are based on birds, the philza kids are very on the nose corvids!) also her horns and

chayanne is more skeleton, more halloween colors, also that scene hair courtesy of his emo dads. this design is kinda insp also by @/alienssstufff, who has this more skeleton design. he is a chef, which is funny cause of the yknow old admin being part time cucurucho and my cucurcuho design being a chef also. i just added more emo elements like dark boots and mroe corw features, also techno backpack and techno crown on his chef hat. its kinda funny that he does haev that color configuration like a crow with that white shirt pattern

His son is the devil incarnate. He doesn't know where or how a five year old learns to start fires but his Son sure does seem to have a proclivity for it.

He was the result of a one night stand and apparently the mother, a woman whose face he can't even remember, had passed in an accident.

Mikey isn't equipped for whatever the hell demon has seemed to posess this child but you seem to manage just fine.

Fires have decreased, property damage bills have stopped coming in, and he finally doesn't feel like a stranger to his own son

You smile and are oh so patient with him, loves watching you clean off his son's face when he gets dirty.

He's glad he met his wife finally. Even if you don't know it yet.

Yandere!Single Dad Izana

His first wife was unfit. Of course she was. Left his daughter alone for hours.

When he came home to find her screaming and starving in her crib he knew that bitch wife of his had to go.

So he finds you, and you're perfect. He explained threatened how important it was that his daughter recieved the best care and you delivered.

He comes home every night and his precious princess is clean, fed and sound asleep and you're vigilant waiting for him to come home and tell him every small detail.

And when he shows up for surprise visits, ones designed to catch you slacking, he's shocked to find everything is in order. Well not everything... He did come home once just as his daughter vomited all over your shirt... but nothing too crazy.

He decides his Princess deserves the very best. Which is you. And he decides he also deserves the very best. The perfect queen for a king.

Paul McCartney, Celia Mortimer, Iris & Vi Caldwell & Mike McCartney: Sketches for a Coming-of-Age Novel.

All quotes from TUNE IN by Mark Lewisohn, except the last one.

[Paul] had two main girlfriends in the last weeks of 1962 and neither knew of the other. One was Celia Mortimer, 17, the strikingly attractive redhead from art school who designed her own clothes and was a big Beatles fan at the Cavern.

'In my first year at art College everyone was wild about trad jazz, but then word came up the hill that ‘things were happening’ at the Cavern; a few of us went down one lunchtime to have a look—and there were the Beatles. […] It was the first time anyone in Britain had the black polo neck, black corduroy, existentialist look. I instantly took their lead and started to make hip black corduroy things to wear.'

‘[…] Paul was attractive, intelligent, arty, all the things that appealed to me, plus he was good to be with: a genuine, gentle person who wanted to please. He was the complete opposite of John, who was snarly and grumpy and incredibly, incisively funny. Paul was the nice one. We started to go out, but things were still quite innocent. Because I lived some way out of Liverpool there weren’t many places we could go, except to sit in his dad’s front room or my friend’s front room, or the cinema—we saw the first James Bond film.’ EXOTIC NIGHTMARES

Paul’s other girlfriend was Iris Caldwell—Rory Storm’s witty, pretty, blonde sister; George’s first love; the 18-year-old daughter of Ma Storm, whose house, Hurricaneville at 54 Broad Green Road, was central to the Beatles’ late-night social scene.

‘He had a beautiful voice and puppy-dog eyes,’ Iris says, ‘and he was much more interested in me than I was in him. I wanted more than a tuppence-ha’penny guitarist of a Liverpool group.’ Iris’s professional dancing career had taken off: she was as busy as Paul, working summer seasons and London shows and touring around the country; they could only see each other when their diaries dovetailed, and just as Paul was with Celia when Iris was out of town, she was secretly going out with Frank Ifield. […]

Iris always knew that a big part of the attraction for anyone going out with her or Rory was the chance of extended time at Hurricaneville, to hang longer around her dad Ernie and especially her mum, Vi. […] ‘Mum never chucked anyone out,’ Iris says. ‘We were all late-night people apart from me dad, who the Beatles called the Crusher because he had exotic nightmares and ate household objects.’ […]

Mary had been gone for six years this October, and Vi Caldwell was one of the women who tried to fill the breach. ‘I was practically a mother to Paul,’ she said without boasting. She made him food and drink, took his stage-soaked shirts and washed and ironed them, and shared easy intimacies. ‘Paul used to like her combing his legs,’ Iris says. ‘He had really hairy legs and he’d come in from the Cavern all tired, roll up his trousers and she used to comb his legs. How ridiculous can you get? But he adored my mum and my mum adored him.’

Vi recalls: ‘Paul was very temperamental. He would come on occasions and would be terrifically friendly and down-to-earth, and on other occasions he would come and be rather aloof and we wondered if we had offended him, as if he was thinking ‘I’m being too friendly so I’ll keep you in your place.’ That was our impression.’

THRILLING IN A DIFFERENT WAY

[Paul] was without the others, but with Celia Mortimer…and a new song. It was Tuesday/Wednesday 23/24 October [1962], the Beatles’ sole two-day break of the year, and Paul decided to leave his car at home and have an adventure: he and Celia hitch-hiked to London to see Ivan Vaughan. Paul loved hitching: he enjoyed chatting to strangers and seeing himself in an observational role, but he’d only done it with George or John, never with a girl. Celia—intelligent, chic, a pretty redhead—made it thrilling in a different way. And it was to see the brilliant Ivy, his Institute mate and John’s boyhood pal. […]

The new song was I Saw Her Standing There, though it had no title as yet. Its melody and structure skidded into Paul’s head late on Monday as he drove back from a Nems Enterprises Showdance in Widness. This was a sophistication of delivery had never experienced, inspiration so excitingly hot that when he got to Hurricaneville he grabbed an acoustic guitar and started working it out. […] It was truly a magical moment for Rory Storm, who’d never seen anyone write a song before. Vi and Iris would always maintain that he asked Paul if he could have it, exclusively, and Paul said yes—but as Rory didn’t have a record contract it’s unclear why he asked and Paul may have said yes only to regain some necessary peace and quiet.

Celia: ‘We had an amazing time, just wandering the streets in the sunshine, looking at London, holding hands and having fun, and Paul had the melody of what became I Saw Her Standing There going round his head all day, humming and singing it and fleshing out the words. […] He said, ‘What rhymes with “We danced through the night?” and I came up with ‘We held each other tight’, which was really quite naff, but he used it.’ BACK TO McCARTNEY-LENNON

However, the song was completed only when he had a front parlour session with John at 20Forthlin Road. They tried out little bits on Jim Macs Nems piano but mostly used guitars, working ‘eyeball to eyeball’ just like when they’d first written together here as schoolboys. Mike took photographs of them sitting by the little tiled fireplace—important historic images, the only such photos ever taken—so here we see these two sharp ambitious tuned-in young man looking down at an old Liverpool Institute exercise book in which Paul has written the words, complete with plenty of crossings-out. John is wearing his black horn-rim glasses and playing his Jumbo Gibson, Paul is playing a cheap Spanish acoustic of unknown history. Another original, a McCartney-Lennon one, is taking shape right here, right now. BIG PLAYER CELIA AND THE OTHER McCARTNEY BOY

Celia Mortimer’s relationship with Paul ended in the last weeks of 1962. ‘As the Beatles spent more time in London, Paul was there and not in Liverpool so much, and our situation just fizzled out. There was no time for it.’ She went on to become a big player on the London fashion scene, with her own label and studio on Great Portland Street, just a long from where she spent a few hours with Paul in 1962. In between times, she went out for a long time with Mike McCartney and was part of the Liverpool poetry scene.

Mike (a Ladies’ hairdresser at the time): MY FIRST LOVE AND BOB 'FOLK RUBBISH' DYLAN (from The Macs, 1981)

One day my first real love, after mum, walked into the salon; she was one of a group of models posing for the Daily Post and Echo. I was brushing up the hair as it cascaded endlessly down on to the floor. I wasn't exactly the brushing up which excited her, it was the way I did it (isn't it always?). The brush was balanced, she later recalled, on the end of my index finger, the furthest point from my body and, with absolute disdain, I followed it across the shop floor.

Not being a Post and Echo model at all, but in truth a hungry student plying her body for money, she returned for the free evening classes where she became my model, and I discovered that her name was Celia. From a model customer she became a model model, and from a model model we became a model couple.

She was the first woman I gave myself to, and she gave herself in return. In her Husky Street flat we got lost in each other's body and mind; we swam together through many Liverpool 8 late nights and often into the morning, when she would get up to cook breakfast and put on records. I would just lie there, male chauv-like. One morning she kept playing a particular album which didn't impress me.

'Who's that Ceel?'

'Someone they keep playing at college . . . Bob Dylan.'

'Never heard of him.'

'Neither had I, but after a while he's quite good.'

Raven, Calypso, and Sean - Raven being something of a caretaker, caring for her little brothers, and even taking on her infant half siblings, she's very busy all of the time... Calypso, yeah hes just crazie. Sean I figured is a maths teacher, he probably teaches Noah, and is a mentor to him

Ruben, Antonia, and Russula - Ruben is definitely grumpy, I think the only thing that could make him smile is if you present him with some nice cheeses, or do something really stupid :p Toni, ofc is beautiful, she takes a lot of pride in her appearance, oh the style!! i wanna be her!! Russula.. isnt "evil", not really, but shes a demon lady so thats as close as you'll get x

Wren, Delilah, and Jay - I like thinking Wren would, at some point, have a guide dog, though it's not really canon unfortunately. Delilah is one of my Ace Attorney OCs! The daughter of Ron & Desiree, she definitely has a knack for mechanics, even at such a young age. Jay is like the "fly on the wall" of the Maedas, so is Robin tbf, I think both of them sit in a corner and stare, but yeah totally quiet, unless he feels like being snarky, he just sits and is judgemental

Copper, Angel, Blaire + Ginger - Copper is handsome!!! thats all really. Angel is another of my AA OCs, Delilah's grandma, actually, like Ron she's a thief, though it's more serious stuff, Angel might not even be her real name, who knows! Blaire and Ginger are beloved to me, best friends who found each other thru drag!

Alice, Lafayette, Gizmo + Jasmine - Alice <3 my scouse ma.. she kinda just is The mother of my ocs ig ,, Lafayette, i still haven't figured out anything too concrete about his lore, but the hidden power thing is something i feel fits him. Jasmine n Gizmo have been my standout married couple ocs for years now, i just never draw Gizmo LOL, so this is still the most recent thing of him... oops

Daffy, Luna, and Rosaline - Last stretch..... im getting tired of typing....... Daffy likes to picture himself as a mad scientist but hes just a dorky autistic dude accidentally making nuclear bombs in his bedroom lmfao. Luna i thought was obvious for the prompt, she's a zombie catgirl so shes just, parts. bits n pieces. Rosaline, again like Lafayette, i dont have much concrete about her, but being my 1 goddess oc it was pretty obvious she'd be the one i drew for the last day lol

Leon

A nurse lead the way to the hospital room with Leon following silently. He hated the way that hospitals smelled. When he was younger he’d spent a lot of time in hospitals with fractured bones and bad burns. Once doctors started asking more detailed questions about his injuries, likely suspecting the truth of them, his father had just stopped bringing him.

The papers in his hand rustled. He didn’t want to do this, but it would make things easier, and it would be over soon.

Room 186, on the second floor. The nurse pushed the door open and called out “Mr. Barnes, you have a visitor.”

The man lying on the hospital bed before him was nothing like he’d last remembered. It had been at least fifteen years. He wasn’t terribly old, but he was weak and frail; his skin pale and hair thinning from the chemotherapy. His blue eyes were beginning to cloud and his hand shook as he tried to pull himself upright.

“Junior? Is that really you?”

“Yes, John, it’s me.”

The man began to cough when he tried to laugh, “Please, don’t call me that. I’m your dad, aren’t I?”

“It’s a stretch,” Leon replied curtly. He pulled the meal tray closer to his father and put the papers down onto it. Across the room on the desk there was a pen, so he went to retrieve it.

“I’m your next of kin,” Leon continued. “If you sign these papers it will make all of your end of life arrangements easier for me.”

“Are you in a hurry?”

“To be rid of you? Forgive me if I say ‘yes’.” When the older man didn’t reply he continued, “I always told you you’d get cancer, being the fucking chimney you were. I must be a fortune teller.

“If I take my shirt off we can probably estimate how many cigarettes you’ve smoked.” He used the pen to circle one of the many round, white scars that covered his arms. “One.”

“You probably hoped that I would,” John grumbled.

“So I’m magic. Too bad it took 30 fucking years to work.”

“I saw Cala on TV,” John said, changing the subject. I had to ask the nurse who she was. Countess of Paratia! My daughter?” Leon could have slapped the pride off of his father’s face. “It’s been years since I saw her. I’m going to be a grandpa. Tell me about her.”

Leon felt his lip curl in disgust at the request. “Just sign the papers and I’ll be on my way.”

The familiar glare took its place on his father’s face. It was an expression that had scared Leon as a little boy, but only infuriated him now. “If you want those papers signed you can do me the courtesy to tell me about you and your sister.”

Leon pulled a chair up, slamming it down hard onto the tiles and took a seat to keep himself from killing the bastard himself. “You want to know about Cala? You want to know how she’s been since she escaped you?” His father rolled his pale eyes and Leon ground his teeth.

“She’s been wonderful. She was a soldier, and now is a very successful designer and coordinator. She’s beautiful, kind, funny, strong, and brave; everything you aren’t, and so is her husband.

“As for me? I’ve been sober for a decade, I live in a palace, and I’m as rich a man as I could ever hope to be because I finally have a family.

“Now, sign these fucking papers or I’ll throw your ashes in a dog waste bin.”

The hurt was clear on John’s face, but Leon didn’t care in the slightest.

“Will you tell Cala’s baby about me?” His father still hadn’t taken the papers.

“Absolutely not. I suggest you spend your final hours talking about yourself, because once you’re gone no one else will.”

He thrust the pen into his father’s weak hand, squeezing harder than was necessary. “This is your last chance to sign. This is your last chance to have a say in what happens to your stinking corpse and worldly possessions.

“Otherwise I’m selling everything and you can be buried in the hospital cemetery.”

“You know I want to be buried with Samantha. Your mother,” he emphasised. It was the first time he’d ever called her that.

Leon raised his hand to strike the older man but stopped himself. As deserving as the snake was he wasn’t worth assault charges. He was satisfied to see his father flinch, though. “If she were here to see what kind of fucking man you are, what kind of piss poor ‘father’ you were, she’d never let you be buried with her.”

John didn’t reply. He lowered his gaze and shook his head before placing the pen down on the tray. “I won’t sign.”

Leon shrugged. “It’s up to you.” He lowered his voice threateningly, “Tell the hospital to lose my number. I don’t want so much as a text when you finally kick the bucket.

“As far as Cala and I are concerned, you’ve been dead a long time.” He turned on his heel and marched quickly from the room, ignoring his father calling after him.

He hated the man. He’d always hated him, and had every reason to. He wouldn’t cry over him, fuck, he’d probably celebrate, but his heart ached a little as he hurried down the too bright halls, desperate to be out.

Fashion Friday: Ghostbusters Afterlife

I know what you’re thinking. What does Ghostbusters have to do with fashion!? Well to be honest not much. But I felt like I should start here since I just saw the new movie, Ghostbusters Afterlife. I know it’s been out for almost a year, but I’ve been waiting for it to come out on Blu Ray since the only way you can stream it is to buy the movie. So I might as well have the actual physical media if I had to buy it anyway.

With that said, the movie was well worth the wait. In more ways than one. This movie is a sequel to the original 1984 movie (and technically it’s 1989 sequel but more the 84 film). And it is a fantastic sequel. You see I’m not a huge Ghostbusters fan. But I did grow up watching the Real Ghostbusters cartoon and I watch the movies every year around Halloween. Admittedly this movie is not as funny as the original, but it is more emotionally satisfying. Director Jason Reitman infuses his love of character study with his father’s original vision. From here on be spoilers. Fair warning.

This movie is about Egon and his family. Specifically it’s about unfinished business. That’s why people believe in ghost stories to begin with. Some people die before they resolve issues with family or friends or leave behind work that must be finished. Egon dies in the first five minutes of the movie leaving unfinished business with all aspects of his life.

Having discovered Gozer might return, Egon leaves New York with most of the Ghostbuster gear because his fellow Ghostbusters don’t believe him. Hence their falling out. Egon apparently even left behind a wife or girlfriend (that we never meet) that gives birth to a daughter named Callie. She grows up to be a resentful cynic who thinks Egon never cared about her. One loser ex husband and two kids later she’s a single mom that just got evicted and inherits her Dad’s dirt farm in Oklahoma. And his debt. So the farm isn’t even worth anything.

What I love about the movie is we discover who Egon really was through his granddaughter Phoebe, who is basically his mini me. His ghosts starts to make himself known to her and she in turns discovers his lab and his old gear and the movie slowly unfolds the story as a supernatural mystery straight out of the eighties. The original movies we only really got to know Peter. So the focus on Egon is a nice change of pace.

The ending is especially perfect. The other Ghostbusters return to help fight Gozer but they’re a little rusty. Yet our pint size hero Phoebe tries to take on Gozer herself but the god is almost too much for her. Which is when Egon takes corporal form and steady’s Phoebe’s hand, helping her.

The CG they did to bring Harold Ramos back on screen is flawless. And tasteful. Egon never says a word. There’s even a shot of the Original Ghostbusters all lined up again in one shot. And when Gozer is defeated, the Ghostbusters get their chance to say goodbye to their friend. Something I’m sure was cathartic to the actors. Then they have Egon meet his grandkids and then hug his daughter. Before fading away into stardust and a simple dedication. For Harold. That’s the end of the movie. And even a casual Ghostbusters fan like me is teary eyed by that point. I’m tearing up now as I write this.

Ghostbusters has been a pop culture icon for nearly forty years. Literally as long as I have been alive. There are fans so dedicated to this fandom they form their own Ghostbuster crews in their respective cities. Fashion is a reflection of our culture. A time capsule. Movies are too. So I’m thinking of designing my own Ghostbusters shirt. Also I want to recreate the Gatekeeper dresses from both the 84 film and Afterlife

I also have this idea to make a jacket inspired by Gozer in Afterlife. That costume was a major upgrade. The original was basically a flesh and white bodysuit with faux bubbles on the shoulders and torso.

The new costume looks like an exoskeleton with spikes on the shoulders and they enhanced it with CG to have Gozer actually light up.

I’ll post designs next week. Hopefully that won’t be my unfinished business. Because that’s why I’m starting this series. To finish a dream I’ve started. To leave behind a legacy. To capture my own moment of time. When I became a Ghostbusters fan.

Can I Tell You...about Berna Romulo Puyat.

Although we’ve never met in person, Berna Romulo Puyat and I have come to know each other thanks to Instagram. We started direct messaging each other a few years ago when she posted a picture wearing one of my clutches given to her by a common friend. Berna has been a long time advocate for wearing Filipino design. In her role as the Philippines Secretary of Tourism she traveled everywhere in the country and through her I saw so many beautiful destinations I have since added to my bucket list. More recently, she has been appointed the Deputy Governor of Central Bank of the Philippines.

I wanted to name a clutch after her that best embodied her spirit, style and love for the Philippines. The Berna clutch is a classic half dome silhouette crafted and molded from natural raffia. It has a variety of hand-embroidered floral motifs and other components that are all hand made in the Philippines. Each clutch has a drop-in chain shoulder strap allowing you to wear it as a crossbody bag. It’s the perfect clutch to wear if you’re going somewhere fun and festive this summer.

Traveling.

Peaceful and content.

4. Whose style do you most admire?

Grace Kelly! Her style was simple and classic, but never exaggerated. Grace would exude elegance, even when wearing button down shirts, capri pants, full skirts, cardigan, and ballet shoes. I also love the way she accentuated her outfits through simple accessories, such as pearls or a nice bag.

I can still visualize myself wearing her clothes because her style and fashion sense are timeless.

5. What do you consider your greatest achievement?

Raising my children as a single parent since my husband passed away in 2010.

6. What is your most treasured possession?

My wedding and engagement ring because, without Dave, I wouldn’t have had my children.

7. Who is your favorite writer?

Kevin Kwan! I only watch movies or read books that have a happy ending so no surprise there.

I couldn’t stop laughing when I first read his book Crazy Rich Asians! I find his work so funny and relatable. It also didn’t come as a surprise to me when he included Filipino characters in his book, Rich People Problems.

I was fortunate enough to have met him last year and can confirm that he is as intriguing as the books he writes.

8. Which living person do you most admire?

If I narrowed it down to two choices, I would choose my mom and dad. I am fortunate enough that my parents are still with us. My mom, Lovely Tecson Romulo, is now 83 years old and my dad, Alberto Romulo, is turning 90 this August.

Mom always inspires me to be strong and to strike the balance between being a mother and a public servant. Dad always reminds me to uphold honor and integrity in public service to preserve the trust the public places in its public servants.

9. Where is your dream destination?

I am blessed to have visited the various UNESCO World Heritage Sites in our country such as the Rice terraces (Cordilleras), Vigan City (Ilocos Sur) Puerto Princesa Underground River (Palawan), Baroque Churches located in Intramuros, Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Norte and Iloilo City and Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park (Palawan). So my dream is to visit other sites in other parts of the world.

The top on my list are Angkor Wat (Cambodia), Machu Picchu (Peru), Old Havana (Cuba), Works of Antoni Gaudi (Spain), Chitchen Itza (Mexico), and Serengeti National Park (Tanzania).

I also want to revisit Cappadococia, Turkey to ride the hot air balloons! Nine years ago, my daughter and I woke up as early as 4 am on two separate days to ride the hot air balloon. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to because of the weather.

10. What is your motto?

“Happiness is a choice. Nothing will make you happy until you choose to be happy. You can choose to focus on the good or the bad. I choose to be happy.”
