Love how as Hiccup grew up, getting into flying related accidents or near-accidents was no longer “AAAA NOO OH NOOO!” It was just “not again…”

Like imagine him almost getting into the worst of accidents while flying with Stoick and just going “not again” and barely scraping by only to have Stoick all up in his face “what did you mean not again?! This has happened to you before?!”

Go on to have Hiccup try to explain why he should be allowed to ever fly again

Sketch dump time! A whole bunch of requests from the crazy ex-bird app

In Order: Maisie, Pam, Colette, Buster, Chester, Chuster ❤️🧡 (and a teeny Gus), Leon and Sandy (Leondy 💚💜), Bull, El Primo, and Mandy!

Extra notes about each sketch:

Maisie:

Her breath attack is a condensed foam material, similar to that of a fire extinguisher. Using a gas similar to a pressurized CO² (based on gas-based fire extinguishers!), she shoots it out at high speeds. These hits can potentially cause frostbite and even severe damage to the body if left unattended. She's quite powerful in this AU due to this ability 👀👀 being able to put out the fires and overpower another dragon's breath? Now THAT'S some queen moves right there! She can also simply spray out the foam substance at short range without that pressurized gas. This helps with more close range fire fighting work.

Her right wing and front leg were undeveloped, a disability she'd had since she hatched. However! With the help of mechanics, she uses these prosthetics to help her fly. Still gotta test out how to draw it to make sense, as well as sort out how it stays in place. I've been using inspiration from Toothless (HTTYD) and his tail that Hiccup made.

Pam:

Pam is a bulkier dragon, very much on the larger side of all of them. I'm at odds with myself to figure out whether ot not she'll have wings 🤔 so I had two copies there! Perhaps her wings may be a bit smaller if I do give her them.

Pam spits out molten magma that's stored up inside her as an attack. However, it can also be chunks of scrap metal that she stores up. Otherwise, it's just magma.

Though I didn't draw this, I want Pam to be very resilient to fire in general, as her species/family of dragon use their ability to spew this magma (technically Lava after ut leaves her body? I'll do more research on this...) in order to craft and shape metal. While other dragons need to spend some time to build up a fire hot enough, the Junker family line is able to do this much more easily. (Amber is a close second, though)

Her skin has the ability to crack and seep up lava out of it, potentially coating her body in this to give herself a temporary lava shield, something extremely hard to break through. (In the future, little Jessie may also be able to do this... however, Pam doesn't think she's ready at the moment and avoids the topic or any ideas of teaching her how.)

Colette:

Colette flies in a sort of funny way, twirling around and flapping her wings to maintain somewhat of a chaotic flight pattern. Think of a snake slithering through the sky, but with large wings and the grace of... a teenage dragon (not much, but it does work).

When she gets better at flying...pray and hope she isn't able to catch up to her favourite brawlers cause she isn't ever gonna let go of them 💀 It makes for a great attack, actually! Charging at enemies and coiling around them like a snake to prevent movement, like a big hug ❤️ she just loves everyone SO much 😍

Buster:

Finally kinda set on a design for this funky guy! He's a larger dragon (smaller than El Primo or Frank, but still definitely up there in size)

His wings never quite grew fully, so he wouldn't be able to fly 😔 however, that'll never stop him and his dreams of being a cool movie star 🧡🧡

Buster, at the heart of it, is an unstoppable force when he sets his mind to something. He'll charge in with the same ferocity as his favouite protagonists, rivalling the audacity and hard-headed nature of even Bull! All while doing so for his friends 💪 we love Buster in this AU frfr

Chester:

Chester always has theatrics when he flies. Flips, spins, and fun aerodynamic movements up in the sky! He's gotta compensate for his lack of speed compared to other wyverns after all, but he thinks he's pretty great 😎

Loved drawing this kinda unique pose tbh! That's what I loved with these drawings, I got to experiment without really thinking too much for em with how polished and clean that look. It was very fun! 🔥

Chuster ft. Gus❤️🧡:

We love some goofy gays here 🥹❤️🧡 I just wanted to let em have a little nuzzle + smooch! Dragons don't necessarily kiss, but little side boops like this are the equivalent of a cheek kiss.

Also, a little Gus on the side 🥹🥹 I love this sort of found family dynamic that have! Buster being the cool dad vibe/big bro to Gus, and then Buster being in a relationship with Chester so that he's also a cool dad too 😎 Gus loved these two guys from the very start, they're funny 🤭 never a boring day for these silly lads.

Leondy 💚💜:

My beloveds 🤲 I really do cherish the ship, as well as strong friendship Sandy and Leon have. (Btw in my HCs, Leon and Sandy are 13 & 14 respectively, just to clear that up!)

Sandy, I've mentioned a few times, is very inspired by Capybaras, so Leon finding one is just perfect 🤭 silly little deadpan face lads.

Bull:

BULLDOZERRRR- What a lad! Bull is inspired by- uh, Bulls! Great creatures, large bodies and thick necks to support those headstrong charges 🐂 I love making his posture all confident, strong steps to say, "Yeah. You TRY and stand up to me. I DARE you." Don't wanna mess with him on most days 🏃‍♀️💨💨

El Primo:

Still figuring out a full-body for El Primo, bit he's roughly the same size as Bull! (Maybe a bit bigger)

El Primo has got really small wings, similar to his El Dragón skin. Even his scales and horns are inspired by that mostly! Love when characters have preexisting dragon themed skins 🤭 makes it a lot easier to make ideas!

His "mask" is actually just body paint. He has similar paint on his body, really showing off the vibrant colours and persona he puts on for the crowds.

He WILL beat up his enemies into a pulp in matches. Thank goodness there's the gem powered regeneration and the respawn system in place 😭 I plan to give him a very strong body and tail, enough to support him when he needs to go on his hind legs and overpower his opponents. Buster is designed in a similar way as well!

Mandy:

Last but not least, the Queen of Candy herself. Not even the Dragon AU let's her escape fast food work 😔😔

Her super attack is purely a magical sugar-based rainbow blast, as shown in the sketch. Also, I'm now realizing that I forgot her red spots oml- No wonder she looks so empty 💀 uhh sorry about that, lads 😭 I'll redraw her one day to show off that glowing effect of her spots 🥹🥹

Modern AU Viggo and Mala hate each other just like in canon, but for petty reasons. It all started when Viggo killed Mala's tamagotchi and then held it over her head out of her reach.

The funny thing is that he does the exact same thing at their high school reunion.

Everyone is surprised to see how tall these two got to be. Viggo was a twink as a teenager, and Mala didn't hit her growth spurt until college. Mala shows up thinking: "I'll finally be taller than Viggo", but lo and behold, Viggo is still a stubborn two inches taller than her.

Ryker is laughing his ass off at their entire exchange.

And another reason Mala hates Viggo is that he got more votes for class president in high school.

Petty hatred, but still hatred.

Hi there! So I finally decided that I want to write a fic set after THW, because I see issues with dragons living in mushroom hell.

I'm also going to base off of the TV series, so it may be a little inconsistent? Idk xc like, firstly the issues because of course there's so many questions of how does these dragons live there?

So, firstly, it would be the food. Not every dragon eats fish only. Like, bolder class dragons eat rocks, there's the eruptodon who eats lava and if it DOESN'T have lava, it will eat through a in active vulcan UNTIL it erupts (who's to say that won't happen? Very probable). Then there's Buffalord (sorry if I misspelled, I always forget this name written oof) who eats some sort of grass, and who gets extremely violent if you take it off said island with that specific grass and there's typhoomerangs, who eat eels because they like them and because it gives them a quick 'recharge' for firepower. Let's not forget that Deathsongs eat other dragons...

Secondly, natural enemies. The Skrill is the natural enemy of Singetails as the Scauldrons is of seashockers. There's probably more that I miss though.

Thirdly, environment. We see dragons like snow wraith, living in a specific environment, being able to live with the cold. Presumably, in thw, it could be cold. We don't know that for sure, do we? Also, his sensors could be all EFFed up since there's a lot of heat radiated by the other dragons, it would barely be able to tell what's and what's not food. What about seashockers? Where are they going to dive down deep into the water? Arguably, there might be a inner crack in the cave that is filled with water that goes deeper, but still. What about timberjacks? We see them in the second movie flying in the sky, and they are absolutely HUGE, where are they going to fly now?!

4, it would be other dragon species, like the whispering deaths or screaming death. How do we know for sure they aren't going to fight down there? How are we sure the screaming death, who can literally sink islands of dragons and who didn't recognize hiccup in rtte, NOT destroy the entire cave and have it crash down over all other dragons? For all we know, only his mother recognized Hiccup and remembered HIM helping them, not Toothless. So... Who's to say she will stop the screaming death just because toothless is there? And overall, what about Titan wings? The teritorial fights? What about dragonroot? Does it grow there? I mean, there is light coming from crystals and whatnot.. Mushrooms. Or what about changewings, when they lay their eggs? Those are prone to drawing predators, like the cave crasher, who EATS eggs.. And Speed stringers, they can paralyze other dragons, and probably kill them.

They are literally doomed to fight to death in there. Literally. There's just so much room for disaster it's not even funny. Toothless, while he had won the right to be a alpha, doesn't have the mind controlling power that the bewilderbeast does. How can he stop all these fights, how can he give everyone a space in that cramped mushroom hell to live like they used to in the wild, in the outside world?

So I'm having this wild idea that there starts to be fights between dragons and the furries tries to stop them and the light fury gets attacked by the screaming death and voila, one of the tailfins gone. Now toothless has to find a way to help her and so starts redemption arcs for both furries for different reasons which I guess you can tell what I'm hinting at here >- > it's not the best idea, but it's something I suppose. I mean I do have the plot and everything, but still.

Hi! Sorry for the late response - if you've written some of this fanfic by now I'd love to check it out! You have some interesting ideas.

But yeah the whole concept of the Hidden World being this perfect place where every dragon species is happy and fulfilled and "where they belong" falls apart the second you start to actually think about it. While HTTYD was never meant to be truly realistic, it originally was relatively grounded and I personally really liked that.....sadly as the series progressed it got more and more "magical" and now we're at the point where underground caverns apparently have a blue sky and/or a fucking sun. (Seriously, look at some of the screencaps for TNR. I'm not joking.)

Which part of the series was your introduction to HTTYD? How old were you when you first became a fan?

HTTYD 1! My social studies teacher showed it to my class instead of teaching us the Vikings unit, lol. I learned nothing about actual Vikings but gained a lifelong obsession. I was 10 when the movie came out, so I've been into this franchise for over half of my life. I find it kind of funny because I remember thinking the movie would be absolutely terrible when I saw the trailers (I thought it was a "boy movie"....yeah I was like that as a kid) and then I never shut up about it for 14 years, lol.

6. What are your favourite ships in the fandom and why?

Ok IMMEDIATELY Dagcup comes to mind. I LOVE ship dynamics that basically resemble the dynamic between a chaotic dog and an exasperated cat. (Although Hiccup is pretty chaotic too to be fair. He just seems so rational in comparison to Dagur) I've also got a huge crush on both Dagur and Hiccup so that helps, lol. Vigcup is probably a close second.

Honestly though, I'm a fan of most of the popular non-canon ships in the fandom and most of the canon ones -- and even rare or crack ships I can eventually get behind.

My current favourite rarepair (that I'm pretty sure only I ship...for the time being) is Drago Bludvist and Skuld the Sorceress. I also ship Chaghatai Khan and Griselda the Grievous (and I came up with some OCs to be their kids).

11. What are your favourite locations in the Barbaric Archipelago?

This is gonna sound like a cop out but...pretty much all Berk in movie 1 - the first film has my absolute favourite set designs, textures, and colour schemes. The forests, the houses, the great hall, the sea stacks...all of it is breathtaking. This photo in particular makes me wish I could visit movie 1 Berk in real life:

The vibrant colours in the following movies are wonderful, but to me, they don't quite say Berk the way the first movie does. I understand that the art direction was probably trying to reflect how allying with the dragons brightened the lives of the characters...but I still think cold, dark Berk can still be a happy place.

I also very much enjoy Caldera Cay/Defenders of the Wing Island in RTTE. I like seeing how the architectural style of the Defenders of the Wing differs from that of other groups in the Archipelago. Their style is so utilitarian, it makes Berk look luxurious! And it makes the dragon-related decorative elements of their ceremonial architecture stand out even more.

16. What is your favourite plot arc?

Ooooh that's a tough one. I don't have *one* specific one in mind, but I think I have to go with any epsiodes in RTTE that feature the rivalry between the riders and the Hunters. Watching Viggo and Hiccup constantly try to outsmart each other is so fun.

HTTYD Art Wrap 2022!

tl;dr: I found my passion for drawing again and have been doing a lot of self healing by not only working on my old fan fictions but also posting them. I've fulfilled childhood dreams by doing art I wish I had done 15 years ago when I first started reading HTTYD. Life's too short, dudes, make that wolf fan fiction come true! Here's the art I did in 2022!

YOU GUYS HAVE BEEN SO AWESOME! Ive been in happy tears at least 3 times because y'all are so cool and nice to me. Not just nice but like, playful and funny and cool! I'm so grateful for the attention y'all have been giving my work!

LONG POST OF ART ahoy!

In June, I found my full passion for drawing again! It started off with many small doodles that I've yet to post, because I haven't scanned and colored them in! I have a giant stack of paper of just HTTYD stuff! Fan fiction, head canons, comic strips, tons of stuff!

From the bottom of my heart, thank you everyone who has been liking, reblogging and interacting with me! You've all really helped me gain confidence I didn't realize I needed when it came to posting my work! I'm having so much fun here on tumblr!

My biggest happiness has been bringing these two back together. Snotface Snotlout and Mewgull! Literally one of the first plot devices I made when I first read the books in '07 *joints crack in glee*

I got to draw them as youngin's and adults! This was a huge step for me! Just seeing them like this ALKJFLAJKWER I don't know how to describe the happiness and satisfaction I feel to actually work on their story and to actually VISUALLY SEE THEM!

I got to draw them as youngin's and adults! This was a huge step for me! Just seeing them like this ALKJFLAJKWER I don't know how to describe the happiness and satisfaction I feel to actually work on their story and to actually VISUALLY SEE THEM! I'm certain I had art of them back in the day but I lost nearly everything in 2012! (I was also too shy to post a lot of my fan fic work...as I am today)

Honestly, Gumboil was a huge help in finding my sea legs. He's a simple design and easily adaptable to my style!

I even got an animation out of him!

It didn't start out with Gumboil though! I naturally wanted to start drawing my wolf characters first! It's what I knew how to draw and something was bothering me....MADGUTS WAS A WOLF WARRIOR AND I NEVER DREW HIM YET I HAD HIS DESIGN IN MY HEAD FOR A DECADE! There maybe a 2.0 but this def rocks my socks for now.

This is probably one of my favorite pictures I did. I love how it turned out! Sure the story behind the picture is kind of sad [Hint: takes place around Book 10] but it was my first real (in my heart) success at combining traditional and digital mediums! It's when I decided to give everything a "storybook" feel to it.

Anyway, I have tons of sketches and other things I could add to this post but I thought I'd keep it short n sweet, so I stuck to what I only posted on Tumblr! I've only been here since December so it ain't much.

You know what would be the funniest thing? Dagur being so oblivious that he actually has no idea how Hiccup got his hands on a nightfury in the first place.

As far as he knows Toothless just materialized one day.

So I’m just imagining the way he found out, because I’m convinced that everything he had heard about Hiccup when he arrived on Berk to sign the peace treaty was just brushed off as being lies/ a coverup.

Hiccup: -reminds me of the thing I used to shoot Toothless down…

Dagur, who’s come to know that Hiccup can and will wage war against you if you as much as look at a dragon the wrong way: you…WHAT?!?!

Dagur’s brain is positively fried and he is not seen for days.

Since I’m on a roll after redrawing my first HTTYD oc, let me just slide onto here and talk about my current HTTYD ocs as well <3

Siri Elisabeth Vínteri;

Siri!! The baby!! She is the first current oc I created, back in December of 2019 and quickly became my favorite, even tho she was made so I could have an oc to join in on the HTTYD oc fandom on Instagram with. However, after her sweet nature and lovable tendencies developed, she captured my cold heart and opened up room for a whole branch of ocs.

Despite in a branch of the rowdy Hofferson family, Siri has proven herself to be a sunshine with a heart of gold. Her first instinct is to be kind to the people she meets and her forgiveness knows no bounds, even if this makes her naïve. She is the most caring and loving character I’ve ever created, which honestly made her even more of a treasure to me. I adore her qualities and personality, as she gives off total comfort energy. I just <333. Baby.

Siri’s Dragon is a sassy diva of a Deadly Nadder named Funnet and is friends with Gustav Larson (they fall in love at the end of their teens and marry and start a family in their mid-twenties, cute babies ship) and is four years younger than Hiccup and the Gang. She’s also quite close with Astrid and ends up having a total of three kids with Gus; Niv, her son, and Sunniva and Helene, her daughters. Siri’s story is actually the prequel to Niv’s story, which is funny considering I created her long before Niv.

Niv Fanghook Larson;

The goodest of bois! Niv is one complicated cookie and I adore him. He is Siri’s son and oldest child, having been born when she was almost 23. However, he was believed to have been born sleeping and was given a traditional viking funeral, something that left his mother heartbroken for years to come.

However, Niv survived as his status was actually a medical situation as the result of an early birth, and was rescued and raised by a tribe of assassins, the Myriad Tribe. Here, he was adopted by a man named Bendik (whose brother actually has ties back to Siri, having met her in their teens) and his wife. However, Niv never stopped longing for his birth parents, as life in the Myriad Tribe was cruel and hostile, filled with murder and faceless men giving assignments. Thus, the young boy made it his life goal to one day find his mom and dad.

Niv is actually the main character between all of my HTTYD ocs! His story is the most interesting for me and I adore playing around with all the different possibilities in his plotline. His sassy attitude and edgelord tendencies crack me up as well lmao.

He’s just such a good boi and I love to talk more about him <3

Sunniva Funnet Larson;

Niv’s little sister and Siri’s first daughter! She is very analytical, quiet and turned towards herself, but passionate as can be. Being a daddy’s girl, she gets along with her dad Gustav perfectly, something Siri absolutely adores. Their little family remains the three of them for a long time and they love each other to death.

Sunni is on the autism spectrum and has a special interest in herbs and medicine, as well as all and everything Dragons, something her parents stimulate greatly and support with all their might (she mainly adores Fanghook and Toothless, thinking they’re cool). She also loves to talk to her parents’ peers, calling them her “grown up friends”, mainly adoring Snotlout. She thinks he’s cool and likes to talk to him about the olden days <3

Unfortunately, Sunni’s story is still a bit up in the air, as she is actually one of my newest ocs! However, I am stoked to craft her story and plotline as I do adore her character and little quips. She is just such a little bean and I’d love to explore more about her.

Obviously I have a lot more ocs, but these are just my main ones! I love them to bits and I would love to talk about them more haha. Soooo, if you have any questions or would simply love to hear more, yeet a question at me! I’d love to answer <3
