I just ordered a new chair for my home office. I mean the one I have is around twelve years old. I got it for a job where I worked at home three jobs ago. When my partner started working at home they used it until it was worn out. Then I used it once in a while and for the last year and a half I’ve used it working at home full time. The chair is really quite sincerely WORN OUT. So I read the reviews, checked all the options and dropped three bills on a chair that should work well, I hope.

As I was looking for my chair I started wondering something. They all have a hydraulic cylinder to adjust the height. Why? How often do you change the height? Most of us get the chair, set the height, and that’s it. Yet, every one has one of these hydraulic cylinders that within a year or two will start to leak. The chair will begin to lose height when you sit in it. It always happens.

In a job a while back I once had an old chair. It was very old, and did not have a hydraulic cylinder. The post had heavy acme threads on it and a large nut that you turned by hand to adjust the height. Like all my other chairs I set it once and never touched it again. Unlike all my other chairs, it never started getting lower. The height was set and never moved again. That chair must have been fifty years old when I started using it, and it still held the height you set it at.

So why did all of the manufacturers switch to a hydraulic cylinder that doesn’t work as well, and that will always fail?

I’m rewatching Bad’s vod during the voting shenanigans and OMG it’s NOT about the furniture!!!!! The amount of people who dismiss his very valid criticisms of the voting system because of the furniture law is INFURIATING and it’s not just Forever. Jaiden, Foolish, Cellbit, Richas, even Pomme. all of them do it. The fact that Cellbit gives him a chair at the end of their conversation is such a slap in the face to their entire conversation and just proves that Cellbit wasn’t listening to anything Bad said

(Also the fact that Bad immediately started giving Forever the benefit of the doubt and trust that he was trying to do good after his convo with Cellbit is very telling. A/N: Hi and welcome to the shortest fic I will ever publish. It is currently near 2am and I'm thinking about maid au. Roughly mid to late 30s setting.

With all the gentleness and care of a mouse slipping past a cat the little maid placed her employer's lunch tray upon the coffee table. It was a very fine table, and an even finer tray but you might not know that by the way their owner placed her booted foot upon the tables surface. Really they ressembled more closely those of a laborers footwear, something you might never expect to adorn the feet of a young lady. Certainly not of a young lady who lived in upper Manhattan, with all the fortune and wealth one could dream up.

She lay quite lazily, her head resting upon her hand, pressed comfortably against the plush pillows, one foot tucked up and the other outstretched. The lady wore not a fine dress, no pearls or necklaces, not even an earring, but a dark suit. That of a man's. Most knew her simply as Kate.

Kate struck quite the intriguing figure, and the maid was momentarily entranced. It was difficult not to be. She picked up the coat, which had been discarded without care and went to hang it up, but was startled by Kate's waking.

“Ms. Potts?” She inquired in the form of a yawn.

“Pardon me Ms?” The maid replied.

Kate sat up straighter, turning in her chair to examine the creature who was not in fact her old cook. She wore a face of confusion for a moment before her eyes widened in remembrance. “Sorry, I don't think we've met before?”

“It's Ms-” the maid began to respond, but Kate held up a hand.

“You're first name, please. Mom makes this place too formal.”

“Ophelia then, Ms.”

Kate pouted at this, scrunching her nose in distaste. She sat up a little more and began rolling up her shirtsleeves.

“This is your first day?”

“Yes Ms.” Ophelia attempted a smile.

Kate stood, and started to roll her shirtsleeves down again. She was not petite or particularly ladilike in any way, though her hair was long and in style.

“Please call me Kate. Everyone does.” She stretched a hand out in offering.
