i feel as though i’ve recommended this before but, hey, it’s just that good. this universe is so dynamic and full and fleshy. there’s so much more than what you think there is when you start your journey through this ‘verse. and all of it is incredible. never mind the fantastic art by Linane plus the efforts made by both treasures for the accompanying articles and just, frens, for real though, if you’ve been waiting to read this just do it.

there are not enough words or sounds or gestures in existence for me to use to express how supremely entertaining and wildly exciting this story is. seriously. i can’t explain it with anything more than: ALKJDHFKJDSGFJKSDJKDS!!! it’s fabulous. it’s engaging. it’s like a television show that has you biting your nails and at the edge of your seat. also it has Gemma. and smutty yums yums. now, 95 chapters looks daunting but i swear to you, it goes by so damn quick because WTF IS HAPPENING OMG YAAASSSS—

k, this fic made me emotional on a lot of levels. like, all of them. *releases long, slow, harsh breath from cheeks* this was an experience. truly. it’s Omegaverse, it’s dystopian, it’s filled with challenge and heartbreak and hope. i haven’t read it in 4 years but, guys, i can still picture EVERY SCENE perfectly in my head. oh God, and the bits that made me tear up 😭 it’s a journey, one i do not regret taking 😭😭😭

i reread my old review for this (left before i even had an account on AO3) and, yeah, as i said in that review: i never cry. but i cried. hard and often. this was done so perfectly that, at times, i didn’t even realize i was crying. this story is more than angst, though, and i highly, HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who hasn’t read it!!

now, i have bookmarks in sordid piles of porny content but this particular fic? stands out to me (always) because it’s not actually smutty or porny or raunchy in any way. and yet, i was left a panting, hot mess by the end. although it doesn’t contain overtly sexual content, the tension our darling wrote remains THE hottest thing i’ve ever read. it makes you salivate; it makes you want; it makes you need an ice bath in a walk-in fridge. i cannot recommend it enough!

Aww, it’s adorable. Bats eat a lot of food so hopefully it will leave soon and get some. :( Can you leave several windows open overnight to let it escape?

I would normally, but at the moment the nights here are so cold that it wouldn't be a good idea, since I'm still a bit sick. I thought about placing a small bowl with water somewhere, but then I feared it wouldn't find it and I don't know, I think I will spend a few hours with reading about bats today and perhaps there is something that will help to lure it out of it's current hiding place. I just want the little thing to get out. :(

On patrol in Erebor’s northern reaches, Kili’s group is attacked by a fearsome clan of barbaric dwarves who live in the cold north.  He is kept alive, barely, and taken north to be a slave of the clan.  A golden-haired warrior, Fili, claims him. 

Trapped north of the mountains through the winter, Kili finds that he will have to rely on Fili for survival and protection amongst a cruel and hostile people.  But the tribe’s Chieftain uses Kili as a pawn to get what he wants from Fili, threatening and harming the young prince.  Fili, distraught by Kili’s suffering, must find a way to save him without bringing about both of their downfalls.

Graduation Response

To Werecakes: thank you so much my dear! Have been waiting since December when I finished classes, and now am, as my dad and brother put it "a qualified adult". Hopefully I'll get to do it again in a few years as I really want to study film and tv which has always been my passion :D but for the time being, I'll settle for this!

To furynz: I'm planning on staying in Queenstown for a little while at my current job, lots to learn there and Queenstown offers more for Adventure Tourism than Auckland does, but I'm aiming to save and travel to Europe for an OE. With my current earnings might take a while but I'm sure I'll get there eventually :D How goes your holiday planning?

12. What was your last dream about? - Oh geez XD  I have really long and complicated dreams.  I think last night I was fighting invaders, but it was sort of part of a play and I was a lion? 

41. Are you a good liar? - I think so?  I don‘t lie that often, but I stay calm when I do.

47. What is your most expensive piece of clothing? - I don‘t even know.  Probably my winter coat, since I got a good one.  Or possibly one of my cosplays XD

76. Have you ever been in a position of authority? - Yup.  I managed the kiosk I worked at for two years, and I’ve been a crew head on a couple plays.

90. What makes you angry? - It’s difficult to actually make me angry, I tend to get colder which I’ve heard is terrifying.  Being nasty to my friends is usually a good way though.
