ooh could you recommend some of your fave japanese city pop? 🩰🌾
the best of junko ohashi (fave song: sweet love)
fuyu-kukan by tomoko aran (fave song: midnight pretenders)
heaven beach by anri (fave song: last summer whisper)
masayoshi takanaka's entire discog is really emblematic of the genre but his album all of me (1979) is a really good intro
love trip by takako mamiya
city pop is a pretty loose genre so there's a lot of different subgenres, in particular there's a lot of overlap between city pop and japanese funk, r&b, and jazz fusion and it all kind of blends into one another. these are my personal faves though!

//Suggestive
Oh lord his outfit! This was for Fronnieweek for day 2 Surprise and I got carried away. It was suppose to be Bonnie popping out of a cake, but I scrapped the original drawing twice. Idk if this is suggestive, just gonna be safe..
I was listening to Tomoko Aran album Fuyu Kukan while drawing this. Mostly Midnight Pretenders, Body to Body, and I'm in Love. I might start posting what music that I listen too along with my art because it usually influences what I draw.

woah !! City pop summer ?? What a concept !! I love casiopea's mint jams and almost anything by takanaka ! who else do you listen to?
oooh taste! mint jams is so good :-) some albums i’ve been listening to lately are anri’s timely!! because i really do feel that it’s an extremely summery album, cologne by kaoru akimoto, sunshower by taeko ohnuki, fantasy by hiromi iwasaki (though this one is more of a disco album than a city pop one), bitter and sweet by akina nakamori’s, mint by meiko nakahara, and fuyu kukan by tomoko aran. also specifically the songs misty mauve & uta no kisha by tatsuro yamashita 💃🏽
