hm, i guess its time for headcanons!! (Since its been a while since ive been here or on tiktok, i thought maybe it would be fun!
Hajime is allergic to peanuts, he never tell anyone because he just assume that it was unnecessary info, till when he ate something kazuichi made to him and he fell on the ground, almost dying
Fuyuhiko HATES yakult, as lactose intorelant, he had to drink it very often, mostly as a child and he absolute hates it
Hajime hates physical touch, but he pretend to like it, Fuyuhiko loves physical touch, but he pretend to hate it
Fuyuhiko can tell if izuru is the one talking easily, sometimes people go and say things like "hajime is acting so different today", he stares and just say "probably because it isnt fucking hajime"
hajime smells just like those baby soaps, he rarely uses perfurme, fuyuhiko like those expensive perfumes, he really likes those, specially the strong ones, but he rarely uses them either, because he is embarassed to
Both have shitty families on different ways (btw, this isnt fully headcanon, most of this topic is in fact canon) fuyuhiko's family is violent, they often fight, to the point of death threats between his parents, he had to grow up in an extremely hostile enviroment. Hajime on the other hand had parents who were neglectful, they probably just didnt care about him, his urge for feeling special probably came from this, hajime's parents wanted a trophy, not a child, and they probably let hajime do a LOBOTOMY because, 1 - he would finally be useful, and 2 - his presence wont be missed
Hajime and fuyuhiko both have a hard time sleeping, they spend the night awake talking to each other, sometimes they fall asleep in the middle of the chat, other times they just spend the whole night awake
hajime loves talking about his interests, but never got the chance to do that, once fuyuhiko found out about this he made hajime talk to him about it for hours, fuyuhiko actually make good commentary about it and seem to actually care and get his excitement, which makes hajime happy
Hajime and fuyuhiko are both overworkers, and always call out for each other, even thought they do the same mistake
Fuyuhiko is totally Japanese, hajime isnt, as thought as he is Japanese descendant, he is also latin American, specifically brazillian, he was on brazil between the age of 0 to 10, he then moved to japan, even if it was pretty early on his life, hajime likes the dishes from his homeland and make fuyuhiko try them, fuyuhiko fell in love with the brigadeiro, which was sweet just like he likes, hajime makes them often for him, sometimes when fuyuhiko is alone at his Office he eats them
Just like fuyuhiko like sweet things, hajime doesnt mind food, but he like bitter and spicy food, like REALLY MUCH, fuyuhiko thinks he is insane to drink Juice without sugar or to eat so many spicy things without a cup of water, i guess hajime's favorite bitter thing is...fuyuhiko! I love this analogy, like hajime is a sweetheart and fuyuhiko like sweets, its only far for the opposite to happen!
hajime when he gets mad he often stop talking and just ignore the person he is mad about, fuyuhiko not only mock him and his angry mood, but he often treat the person equally bad, he didnt even care about the motive, he just did, fuyuhiko didnt ask why he was mad thought, he knew it was frustrating hearing this type of question, but still he says things like "just say how much of a bastard this piece of shit fucking is! I have no idea what this mother fucker done but if youre mad it must been pretty mess up"
They like to watch EVERYTHING togueter, hajime is the type to say "no...please dont do it *character* dont do it youre gonna to die dont do it" for the TV, fuyuhiko is the type to "STOP GOING THERE ASSHOLE YOURE GOING TO DIE, COME BACK. COME BACK." In the end the character die and they both stop talking, but probably thinking the Same thing, that it was the most obvious thing ever
Fuyuhiko relationship with izuru is...weird, they often dont talk, they spend their time in silence, which is often more comforting then scary, fuyuhiko sometimes Braid izuru hair, fuyuhiko is aware izuru is just a repressed version of hajime, even if people try to make them different persons
And for the final headcanon, izuru wakes up early at 9:00 to watch mikudayo show, for some reason he likes it, he watched it in the past, and had a few memories that he didnt remember, so he started to watch those episodes everyday, the first time fuyuhiko saw him doing it was like "huh, hajime what are you doing awake right now" to realize it was izuru, he then see the mikudayo program and gets confused, how could izuru like it, he just silent watched too, fuyuhiko now likes the mikudayo program, he just dont admit to anyone
I HOPE YOU ALL LIKED!

Y'all like headcanons?
Fuyuhiko:
Has a lot of internalized homophobia
Gets so much shit for being small and feminine-looking, doesn't want to make it worse by being gay
Has no frame of reference for what friendship is supposed to be like, so it takes him a long time to realize that he's actually in love
Like at first he's like "I kinda wanna kiss Hajime??? Is that a thing friends do???"
Sexually repressed, until he isn't
Once he realizes his feelings, he realizes how curious he is about all the affectionate things couples do
Wants to know what kissing feels like, especially with tongues
Wants to feel his partner's body
Wants to be touched all over
Not quite touch-starved, but close
Once he and Hajime have sex for the first time, he wants to do it all the time
Likes to tease his partner, but hates to be teased
Kind of a praise kink, but would never admit it
Loud during sex
Bruises easily, and has bruises all over his hips and thighs
Hickies everywhere!
Total power bottom
Likes positions where he feels in control
Enjoys bottoming, but definitely down to top
In more domestic news...
Steals Hajime's clothes all the time
Likes to sleep in Hajime's shirts, especially if he's not around
Likes to shower Hajime with gifts
Would absolutely cut a bitch for looking at his man
Has at least one tattoo that represents Hajime
Hajime:
Kinda always knew he was bisexual
Didn't get to have a big "coming out" moment
Doesn't mind if people know, but won't go out of his way to tell them
Didn't bother telling his parents, figured they wouldn't care
Doesn't realize he has feelings for Fuyuhiko until he's already hopelessly in love with him
Considers sex a less-important aspect of a relationship at first
Once he has sex for the first time, reevaluates that idea
Wants to touch Fuyuhiko all the time
Not just sexually, any type of contact
Hugging, holding hands, kissing, just leaning on him
Likes making sure his partner feels good
Kind of a service top
Likes positions where he can see his partner's face
Not a jealous person, but likes marking Fuyuhiko
Likes leaving bite marks and hickies everywhere
Likes seeing his partner full of his cum
Just likes a visual reminder that they're his
Likes to praise his partner during sex
Prefers topping, but wouldn't mind being on the bottom for the right person (lol)
In more domestic news...
Knows that Fuyuhiko steals his clothes, but doesn't stop him
Steals Fuyuhiko's underwear as retaliation
Feels bad about receiving so many gifts from Fuyuhiko
Tries to even things out by showering him with affection, which Fuyuhiko pretends to hate
Likes to count Fuyuhiko's freckles while they're laying in bed together
I may add on to this list later. Might do a harem AU-specific list, also. We shall see. ( ꈍᴗꈍ)

The Usami brothers and whole family as a whole are really interesting characters.  Due mostly by the fact of how different Haruhiko and Akihiko are yet similar in many ways as well.  Let’s start with rabbit boy.
Tumblr media
Not only is this man extremely sexy but he’s also one of the most popular novelists in Japan believe it or not (not in real life guys)  Akihiko is the presumably biological son of Natsuko and Fuyuhiko and younger brother of Haruhiko Usami.  Growing up, he had always yearned for the attention of his parents, wanting to impress them and make them happy.  Haruhiko had actually been introduced to the Usami household at the age of 12 so Akihiko was 10 at the time and significant development seemed to grow from this change.  As shown from volume 21, everyone had been cheering Akihiko on as the legitimate heir of the Usami family meaning to take over the family business however he had never gotten this support from his parents before.  As a young child he had believed that if he just tried harder and became good at everything, then his parents would finally recognize him.  However, this wasn’t the case unfortunately as shown in the same volume once a young Akihiko came home from school gaining full marks on a test, eager to show his father when he caught him telling Haruhiko that he truly intended to make him the heir of the family business.  This impact was further felt once his mother, who had also witnessed this, declared that she should have never bore Fuyuhiko’s child which in the eyes of a young child must have been completely shattering.  An important seed was planted however and I believe that it was at this moment that Akihiko had started to evolve into the person he is today.  He poured all his emotion, pain, loss, suffering into his notebooks, his stories, proclaiming it to be his entire world.  Overtime we see that Akihiko grows to be very adept at the talent, being one of the top-selling authors from debut which occurred while still in high school and becoming a full-fledged novelist.  Doing this, he completely rejected his family and any connections he might have had to take over the business.
Looking as Akihiko today it is very clear the type of individual he is, independent and self-serving, he’s his own boss and does only the things he wants to do.  From the first episode of season 2 we see this as there is a key event that takes place between the two Usami brothers in which a confrontation between two escalates into a full-out argument over Akihiko coming back to, as I assume, take over the lead of the Usami company and or serve there.  I will note later on Haruhiko’s tone and content of his language but it’s Akihiko’s response which truly stuck out to me as he stated that he had no inclination of going back to that house and if that Haruhiko truly didn’t like being there then why doesn’t he just leave as well.
This point may seem entirely irrelevant but I actually believe it highlights an essential part of Akihiko’s character that not only serves as his strength but also a blind spot in that of his independence.  Akihiko is the type of person who is able to do the things he’d like to do and encourages the people he cares about, basically Misaki, to do the same such as in episode 2 of season 3 where he is actually the one who encourages Misaki to enter into Marukawa after Misaki dismisses those thoughts as just a fantasy.  This is a thing for his relationship with Misaki as he allows the man a different perspective and in a way allows him, or at least encourages him, to be more selfish.  However this can also be seen as a flaw of his character as it can be interpreted that the only reason he has this lax and independent personality in the first place is because of his more well-off family and the fact that he’d had connections from the start.  In all honestly though, this part of Usagi-san’s personality is one of the main reasons why I actually enjoy his character, along with his thoughtful nature, as I believe that it’s a pretty unique and well-suited trait.
Tumblr media
Let’s get into Harry Potter or the eldest brother of the Usami residence, Haruhiko.  Haruhiko isn’t Akihiko’s direct brother as stated before but rather a product of an affair that Fuyuhiko had with his mother.  For the first 12 years of his life, Haruhiko had actually been raised by his single-mother whom he loved very much.  During these times he had been seen to be much more happy despite living in poorer circumstances.  This is a large aspect that is pretty big onto why he is the way he is today.  After his mother tragically passing on, Fuyuhiko took him into to live in the Usami residence.  Now this in itself is absolutely devastating, living with a father-figure that had never truly been there for you with a new mother-in-law that despises your every existence because you’re the proof of the infidelities of her marriage and a new younger brother who seemed lifeless from the rest of this.  Top it all off with the devastation from losing the only person you truly loved and was there for you and damn I’m surprised that Haruhiko didn’t full out lose it.
Now going back to the scene originally discussed with Akihiko’s backstory, let us switch perspective onto Haruhiko during this situation.  Your new dad just stated that the person he had truly loved in his lifetime was your dead mother and that he intended to make you, a 12 year old child, the heir of their family company that you had just learned about.  Not only this but everyone around you is your enemy as shown through all the people cheering on Akihiko to become the true heir and saying that Haruhiko stole his position.  There is basically no one there to support you, similar to Akihiko, and unlike Akihiko he actually was not used to this new circumstance making the situation even worse.
I’d like to discuss the scene stated before during episode 1 of season 2.  Here, Haruhiko is visibly angry as Akihiko’s lack of care for his role in the Usami residence.  This is something we’ve never actually gotten to see ever since with Haruhiko barely showing any emotion at all.  However, if you take in the full context of his upbringing and circumstance to that point, you can see a fuller picture of what the man has gone through to become the stoic chosen one we know today.  Akihiko, after being hoisted by Isaka to finally start publishing his works, his entire being, finally achieved success independent from the Usami residence, marking himself finally as an individual allowing him to finally see that he only needs himself.  I think this is what caused Akihiko to cut most connection from his family, despite the occasional visits, and totally puts himself away from the idea of succeeding and become the heir of his family’s company.  This leaves Haruhiko with the burden of shouldering the entire Usami company’s future, something he never truly wanted to today with architecture being his main priority.  What he see’s in Akihiko is this lazy, selfish person who only thinks of himself, abandoning all his familial duties to a brother whom he barely batted an eye to during childhood.  This is what he hates in Akihiko, but also envies.  A very interesting point that season 2 makes with the connection between the Usami brothers is the inherent jealously Haruhiko feels toward Akihiko, with him trying to steal things from him during their upbringing together according to Akihiko.  Even Misaki finally has this revelation during episode 8 I believe when he was distracting him from Kaoruko.  I think his jealously mainly stems from the fact that Akihiko got his independence while Haruhiko is still confined to the Usami gates.  With all of Akihiko’s absent-minded behavior and to quote Haruhiko, having the eyes of a dead fish”, Akihiko in the end still achieved that sense of independence that Haruhiko could only dream about having.  Add onto the fact that everyone around you hates that you got this position, lobbying for your younger half-brother who barely gives in the effort to succeed you, then baby that’s a recipe for childhood resentment if I’ve ever seen one.
Tumblr media
So what does this all mean, well nothing since this is an over-analysis on a yaoi manga but in a reality I think it comes to show the clear dynamic Haruhiko and Akihiko have on one another.  In recent chapters it is shown that Haruhiko is more and more aspiring in his own pursuits in architecture, even accepting his position as lead of the Usami household and accepting the fact that he’ll never get Misaki, wanting to stay as his ally instead (which is a lot more than I can say for a CERTAIN manga author).
I love Haruhiko AND Akihiko, they both are really great characters and I’d think it would be nice if in the future they could perhaps reconcile their relationship and kind of start to get along.  The Usami household fucked up a lot of kids but they are still going strong and who knows, maybe Haruhiko might get a lover in the future (AKA Todo)
Thank you and now I implore you to go listen to Nelson’s After the Rain album, 10/10 made me cry.

aaa tell us about hitori!!! what’s their ultimate? do they have a backstory?
Cjfjdjdh thank you so much for asking anon!!! Please I have so much to say about this liddol guy,,, I love him so much ohmygosh-
Ok, first, here's a picture of his not danganronpa sprite!!
Tumblr media
I know he looks really different but I couldn't get his full design on the sprite, so I hope I matched the energy! Alright, I'm gonna put everything about him under a read more because I could talk about him for ages of my gosh-
Tw/Cw: Caps, cursing, dr1 and sdr2 spoilers, chapter 5 shenanigans
Ok, as you know, his name's Hitori!! But his full name is Hitori Yuko!!! His ultimate is the Ultimate Hope, but in a sorta different sense compared to Makoto or Nagito. It's weird to explain, it's more of like an ultimate positivity thingy? But it's also kinda like how a kid would see a super hero!! I have to go more into his personality and backstory to fully explain- He's generally selfless, but he's a bit to exciteable at times. He's also persistant and dedicated! Like, for example, at the beginning of the game (during the prolouge), on of his lines would be: "Stop moping around, they can't keep us here forever!! Not if I have anything to say about it!" And "You can count on me! I'll get us out of here, safe and sound!!"
Also, I would think you can only get his FTEs at certain times during the game, that go with his whole arc!! You'll see more of that I'm a second!
He's positive and thinks of himself to be a hero, but to the point of annoyance and isolation. Not like he thinks he's better than everyone else per say, but more of a "I have to be able to help everyone!" type of thing. Thus actually connects a lot to his backstory, which I'll get into a bit later!!
When the game first starts, he sticks mostly with Nagito, and Hajime, much to Hajime's dismay. So far, everybody's pretty neutral on him, but nobody other than Nagito really likes him. He's really excited to be hanging out with Nagito, and it seems like this is his first friend per say. He has a sort of blind optimism too, no matter the situation. He's the classes optimist!! But sometimes, because of this, he's kind of an idiot.
Most people really start to hate him around ch1. Because, at this point, it's staring to sink in that they're gonna be stuck on the island, but it hasn't quite affected him yet. He still keeps up the can do attitude, but nobody -other than Nagito- is having it.
Hajime's got to much of a temper, Fuyuhiko has a short fuse, Hiyoko doesn't like him at all, he freaks Kazuichi out, etc. Most of the sdr2 cast sees him as a hope obsessed nuisance, and some of the more outspoken members say that to his face. Little do they know what they have in store..
It's around the first trial that his hopeful persona starts to crack. As soon as Nagito is revealed to be who he is, he feels betrayed, cheated almost. When he was friends with Nagito, he felt special, he felt unique. Nagito was able to tear down his walls, but as soon as it was revealed, he couldn't tolerate it. The first person to let him feel loved I'm years, and it was just a ruse.
"Hope doesn't tolerate your lies."
Afterwards, the only friends he has are people who are hyper as he is, or people who have the patience to deal with him. Ibuki, Peko, Mahir, and Mikan, despite the fact that she doesn't fit either of the categories- Also another oc of mine named Pyry- And by extension because of Mahiru, Hiyoko, though the insults never fully stop- please I am going to curb stomp Hiyoko if she doesn't stop saying shit about my boy
Although, there seems to be a bit of a disconnect. It was always there of course, but now it's even more prominent. You wouldn't notice it unless you actually knew him, so it's pretty much not noticeable to anyone 🤡
Ok, ch2 absolutely destroys him- like seriously, he loses two of his friends, and then it turns out that they didn't even have to die and it's Fuyuhiko's fault. So yeah, that's where some of his character development comes from- Normally, he would've forgiven Fuyuhiko but he doesn't get forgiven until like,, ch4 so-
Ch3 is even worse. he losES LIKE ALL OF HIS FRIENDS-
He also gets despair disease- His disease is 'quitter disease' because I never came up with a better name for it- Basically, he's just sad and one of his lines describes it- "There's no point in trying, we're all gonna die here anyways." And "You really think we're gonna get out of here huh? You really are an idiot.
These lines are said to Hajime- Please save my poor boy-
Fuyuhiko actually ends up being the one to look after his during it, mainly because he feels bad, despite Hitori's protests.
Ch3 is the only time he fights back against Hajime's conclusion, and the last time he does. He doesn't want to lose his only remaining friend.
But he does. And now he's alone again.
He keeps up his unaffected persona, despite the fact that he had a breakdown at the trial- He forgives Fuyuhiko, and just sorta keeps on keeping on, like he always has.
Ch4 is especially hard on him, but he's just sorta,,, fine with being near Nagito? Despite the fact that he really hated being near him, he's just sorta succumbed to his fate- During the ch4 trial he's the only one not treated terribly by him, so that's strange,, mutual respect I guess?
During ch5, he's more distant than ever, and you can only unlock his last FTE the day before Nagito's death. The last lines are what's ment to stick with you.
"Y'know, you're the only person who's really.. cared about me, and is still.. here. Thank you for that. I would really miss you if something happened. I wonder if you would do the same.."
AND THEN HE FUCKING DIES AND SO DO I
You'd find him slumped against the wall near Nagito, but it looks like he got caught in there by mistake.
He didn't-
So basically he and Nagito did the death room thing together, then discovering that they were all Remnants of Despair, thus making the ch5 plan together. But Hitori knew more than what he let on.
He and his avatar was sorta glitchy, so he was sort of a glitch in the matrix if you will. This caused him to get flashes of the past years he'd spent at Hope's Peak, but it also sorta fucked with Junko's brainwashing-
So, as soon as he died, due to his glitching, he woke up.
Nowadays, he spends his days amongst his sleeping classmates, and the class 78 survivors, waiting for the day they wake up too.
I WAS SO BUSY WRITING THAT THAT I FORGOT HIS BACKSTORY SO HERE IT IS-
He'd been raised with an avarage life, with avarage parents, and avarage friends. But he wasn't exactly avarage. Ever since he was a child, he was always an extordinatuly good writer. He could write pages upon pages of different universes, worlds, and lives. But, his friends weren't always as supportive as he thought they would be. They longed to be like him, to have his talent as their own, but they didn't want to try. So, they used him instead.
He wrote paragraphs on top of paragraphs for them, but it was never enough. They always wanted more, and he always wanted to help. But, day by day, they wanted more and more, until all he had left was his optimism, that they would love him like they once did.
He hasn't written since.
HITORI MIGHT BE A BADLY WRITTEN OC, BUT HE'S MY BADLY WRITTEN OC AND I LOVE HIM-

Ranking random danganronpa ships that I can think of in bed with minimal repitition by how good at parenting I think they'd be
Sakura and Hina. Would raise a super athletic kid. But I think that little athelete would be pretty happy. Probably a major family first mentality for these two
Fuyuhiko and Peko. Would protect this kid with their lives. Would love them so very much. But also, accidental helicopter parents. They try not to tho
Chiaki and Sonia. Would raise their kid to never give up, and would encourage their interests. But would also let them nap their life away if that's what made them happy
Kaito and Shuichi. This kid will roast you in the most honest way ever. You're hurt because what they just said is true
Himiko and Tenko. This kid would either be extremely quiet and calm or loud and aggressive. No in between. But loved nontheless
Ishimaru and Mondo. You know that meme with the kid asking dad for something mom said no to and when dad asks what mom says and gets the answer the kid goes "moms not the boss of you" and they're thinking "it's a trap" over and over? Yeah. That.
Hiyoko and Mahiru. See Ishimaru and Mondo
Komaru and Toko. Good parenting. But they make mistakes often. They try their best to learn from them tho
Kirumi. Sticky note mom, but she made you 7 different lunches to choose from while she's gone
Makoto and Kyoko. Would be okay parents, but seem like the sticky note parent types. They mean the best, but they're also workaholics
Ibuki and Twogami. Fairly functional. This kid would grow up wrapped in bubble wrap and know how to pop each and every bubble (to a sick beat)
Kaede and Maki. The entire family unit is just "take no shit but do no harm" but as people. Fuck with them at your own risk
Gundam and Kazuichi. This would be a hilarious household to live in. But it'd be very loud at all times. This kid also shares a room with like, 12 + animals at any given time
Nekomaru and Akane. This kid will punch you, eat all your food and then start yelling at you about what food you have. But they were raised with a very loud brand of love. Another mega athelete child
Kork and Rantaro. Either you're traveling the world with your dads or you've been left home alone with a bunch of statues and books rather than parents
Kokichi and Gonta. Their kid will I.d. your lies and passively aggressively point them out and all of a sudden they're eating a dandelion like nothing happened
Sayaka and Leon. This kid would get actually thrown into the music industry. Also their dad would absolutely demolish them at catch every time and their mom crushes them at karaoke. RIP this poor shithead
Miu and Kiibo. Miu built the child and they're trying. But this kid keeps picking up bad habits and getting wrecked. They can't handle it anymore
Ryoma. I feel like he'd actively avoid having kids
Anything involving Angie. You live in a cult kiddo, congrats
Hifumi and Celeste. That household sounds like an actual nightmare. This kid is never winning a game of Uno.
Nagito and Hajime. Nagito would antagonize the kid to see them over come the challenges (or straight up avoid them to keep his bad luck away from them) and Hajime would try his best
Anything involving byakuya. This kid would be raised to be a ruthless business person no matter what. Also there's a strong chance of that wack ass togami contest. Fuck that man
Anything involving Junko. She's gonna make this kid miserable on purpose. 0/0. Bad parenting

FF7 crossover I’m never gonna write
-A Final Fantasy 7-type AU. I say “type” because it’s going to have to change a lot to fit the different personalities hahaha
A very long (and messy) post because the idea is in my head, but I don’t want to really write it in a more structured manner XD
In short:
Cloud- Hajime
Tifa- Nagito
Aerith- Chiaki
SHINRA- Togami
JENOVA- JUNKO
Sephiroth- Kamukura
Under the cut is the details, put there for length and FF7 spoilers?
Characters are matched not by personalities, but on their roles in the story. This means that some events in the story don’t happen the same way.
Hinata is the main character. His childhood neighbor, who is the child of the mayor and his crush, is Nagito Komaeda. Hinata goes from Nibelheim to Midgar in order to join SOLDIER, but ends up in infantry.
Enemies:
Sephiroth is of course replaced by Kamukura. Kamukura was actually a test tube baby instead of born, like Sephhiroth had been. Hajime’s mother was the donor, so he is actually Hajime’s older brother (It’s very tragic). Hajime hears of this hero who is only a few years older than him and strives to be just like Izuru Kamukura.
The big bad JENOVA is replaced by JUNKO, the alien who wishes to destroy the world.
The evil corporation is the Togami Corporation, with Rufus Shinra being replaced by Byakuya Togami, mostly just because they really match.
Dr. Hojo is replaced by Monokuma- but humanized? He is completely unrelated to Izuru, but his obsession with Junko remains. One of his rivals, and the one Izuru actually liked, is Taichi Fujisaki.
Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu is the head of the Turks, taking place of Tseng
the other Turks are just going to be Saionji, Mahiru, and Mikan
Palmer, Heideger, and Scarlet are replaced by Kaito, Shuichi, and Maki (Togami probably has blackmail on them or something?) Kaito has the space program (that never gets funding), Maki has the Weapons Department, and Shuichi is manager of the Turks and internal affairs. He is like a detective and is kept on mostly because he’s good at deducing who goes against the company. None of them like their jobs, but Maki is resigned to do it. Shuichi and Chihiro are actually working together in attempts to thwart Shinra. Kaito just wants funding for the Space Program because he truly believes the world can be saved that way and he’s a bit blind to the corruption since he was off in Rocket Town for most of his career.
To kind of balance it out, though, I’m adding Toko Fukawa as leader of the SOLDIER/Infantry Departments
The friends who join:
Multiple people technically take the role of Barret. The members of the terrorist group (Future Fighters as opposed to AVALANCHE) don’t all die. The ones who survive are Makoto Naegi, Kyoko Kirigiri, and Aoi Asahina. Nagito joined them after Nibelheim burned down. Sakura Oogami, Kiyotaka Ishimaru, and Mondo Oowada perish with the fall of the plate.
On a side note, Asahina is basically the Barret of this story. She loses her brother to the explosion at Corel, she and Sakura had escaped from there.
Chiaki Nanami takes the place of Aerith, but rather than just an Ancient, it was more like she has abilities that really affect technology. Her father was Taichi Fujisaki, and she’s totally unaware that her half brother was so close to her.
In the game, Nanaki/Red XIII is an intelligent animal trying to go back to their tribe... in this one his role will have to be taken by Kiibo instead, who tries to go back to his “grandpa” Dr. Idabashi.
Chihiro Fujisaki is going to take the place of Reeve with Usami being Cait Sith (no need for the mog)
The obvious choice for Cid is Kazuichi Souda, but he won’t be getting any addictions! His best friends, Gundam and Sonia, stop his rocket because it was too dangerous to fly. (and they all become a happy trio)
Now for the optional characters, Kokichi Ouma takes the place of Yuffie because he’s mischievous and would totally play pranks.
Peko Pekoyama would be the Vincent Valentine, but the twist is that she and Fuyuhiko used to be partners in the TURKS (instead of Vincent and Veld). She hides her real name by calling herself Sparkling Justice and hidin her face with a mask, but she mostly still fights the same, making Fuyuhiko especially mad when she’s around
Additional notes:
-Chiaki and Chihiro are going to be half-siblings, with Chihiro actually being older because I’m basing this mostly on Alter Ego. Taichi’s first wife dies in childbirth, and he falls in love with Chiaki’s (unnamed) mother. Chihiro and Chiaki are taken from him, with Chihiro being told that if he doesn’t cooperate, Chiaki and his stepmother would be killed. Chiaki is completely unaware she has a half-brother, however he’s always kept an eye on her through her plush toy. This is ultimately why he spies on the group, but he’s also the leader of Urban Development
-Kamukura does not see Junko as his mother. She promises him the excitement he can’t get anywhere else by causing Despair, and he becomes obsessed with the idea that destruction will relieve him from boredom. He loses his mind to Junko in this AU, but he’d been close to redemption at the end, knowing the truth of Junko’s corruption and how he’s actually related to Hajime.
-Makoto and Kirigiri grew up in the orphanage at Midgar under the plate. Makoto has a vision of a better world, and she joins him. This is especially so when she finds out she has a personal reason for going against Togamis. Her father lead a rebellion against the corporation and dies. Together, with other orphans who are affected by the Togami COrps, Mondo (brother dies because of Togamis) and Ishimaru (he was reluctant to start but the common people are suffering and he’s against the cruelty, plus his whole family was forced underground because of the Togami Corps) found a new group they called the Future Fighters. Aoi Asahina and Sakura Oogami join them shortly after. Nagito Komaeda is found and taken in by Makoto. Makoto is against the fighting, but he’s in agreement that Togami Corps need to be taken down. He mostly gets information, being a decent spy/detective. Kirigiri is the gunslinger, but she’s also the strategist. Asahina and Sakura are the “monk” types. Komaeda usually uses guns, but he is also the one who makes the bombs. Hajime, when he briefly joins, uses a sword.
-Chiaki is the healer/magic user, however her affinity with technology often acts up and can be used against enemies. Kiibo uses built-in guns and laser eyes (but h absolutely cant be in water or struck by lightning). Usami is a magic user, mostly using buff on the team or casting status effects. Kazuichi can still be the dragoon type since there’s no real reason Cid ended up with spears. Ouma is still gonna be a ninja. Pekoyama uses the sword rather than a gun. (and Gundham and Sonia are both magic users, both summoners, but Sonia is also really good at white magic while Gundham is reall good at Dark magic.
-instead of the Golden Saucer, there is Towa Park. Haiji is the Dio of this AU, and instead of Dyne, there are the Warriors of Hope (all of them only a little younger than Asahina). None of them die, but Monaka gets crippled through her own stubborness. She hates Asahina for the death of her mother and the fall of Corel. She was left with her abusive dad and stepbrother until she fakes crippled legs. Each of the other kids were stuck in homes of paid actors who forced them to call them parents and abused them.
-Chiaki has no “Zack” in the same sense Aerith did. Her “Zack” was Kamukura, who did not fall from the roof, but rather landed gracefully in front of her from the roof and protected her from monsters. He came down mostly because of the flowers being something he hasn’t seen before, at first, but he genuinely liked her eventually, up until he goes missing. Chiaki never really forgot him, but finds a boy who falls down from the roof that really reminds her of Kamukura, even if he doesn’t act a lot like him. (Does this mean he kills Chiaki? UHHHH)
-The one who saves Hajime before the events of the game, Hajime’s “Zack,” who was somewhat friends with Kamukura but not especially close, is First Class SOLDIER Nekumaru Nidai. the experiments on Nidai ended in him being mostly robot because they tried to use Junko’s cells on him, whereas Hajime seemed to barely have any influence from it. Nekomaru is trying to go back for his not-girlfriend (yet) Akane Owari, a martial arts teacher that travels the world, but has laely been based in Midgar (partly because of him, if she were honest). He doesn’t make it, and she never knows he’s dead. She eventually leaves Midgar when the plate drops, which is suspected to be because of the Togamis. She meets up with the main group in Gongaga, where Nidai had been from. Komaeda reacts to her and this village when she talks about him.
-Pekoyama was given a solo mission mostly because Mr. Togami (Byakuya’s brother) was suspicious of the Turks at that time. Kuzuryu and Peko are loyal members of the Turks at this point and there’s been rumors that ther leader, Jin Kirigiri, is thinking of defecting. spreading the Turks out and eliminating some of them in “accidents” seemed like a good way to go about things. Kuzuryu was able to earn the company’s loyalty, but he did it to find Peko, who had been successful in stopping a terrorist attack, but only through a cost of grievous wounds. Dr. Monokuma gets to her and experiments on her, and she ends up in Nibelheim labs, waking up a monster. She seals herself up to await her death.
-Nagito is the Nibelheim mayor’s only son, who’s had a crush on Hajime for a long time, but was never allowed to hang out with Hajime, specifically after Hajime is accused of endangering Nagito after he went off alone to Nibelheim Mountains to find his mother when she passed away. He begins to think it is better if people aren’t close to him, seeing as his mother died through an accident involving him and the town is starting to get superstitious about his family being cursed. So, while respected, he keeps his distance. Hajime does manage to convince him to meet, the night before he leaves for Midgar. A promise is made that Hajime would come back and tell him all about his adventures as SOLDIER. He jokingly says Hajime should save him from harm one day. When the catastrophe that is the day Kamukura burns down the village happens, Nagito is saved by luck. His personal tutor find him and takes him to Midgar, staying with him for a while. However, he ends up dying in terrorist bombings, and rumor has it that the Togamis are responsible for that, too. Komaeda decides he wants revenge and through some lucky finds in the black market, is able to teach himself to create bombs. Kirigiri, when the group finds him, is able to teach him to use guns as well.
-Hajime is found by Nagito at the train station. Although Hajime claims he is SOLDIER First Class, he also says that he was at Nibelheim when it burns. Nagito is concerned by this, but given Hajime’s clearly distressed state, doesn’t dispute it. He instead invites him to the terrorist group that goes against the Togami’s, mostly to be able to keep an eye on Hajime and eventually figure out how Hajime knows what happened at Nibelheim when Nagito knows the one who is supposed to be there is Nekomaru.
-The Turks, lead by Fuyuhiko, are only him, Hiyoko, Mahiru, and the newest member, Mikan. normally, the Turks are comic relief characters, and they still can be, but the jokes would have to be different for sure. Hiyoko’s the “dancer” who buffs the team and causes static effects, but she can truly pack a punch. Mahiru is the magic user, her element being lightning. She’s pretty good with close-range/mid-range weapons. Mikan is healer, but also great at magic in general. Fuyuhiko, of course, only uses guns, but he uses it really well (However you never fight Tseng in the games I guess, so you only see him use guns)
-Hajime can “date” one of these people, depending on the choices made by “players”: Nagito, Chiaki (they have the highest chances with him, just like Tifa and Aerith), Makoto, Asahina, Kokichi, Pekoyama, and Kiibo (the rest are the not-exactly-romantic and harder to achieve options, just like Barret, Nanaki, and Yuffie. While you can’t date Vincent Valentine.... I wish it were possible XD)
-All that date stuff said I’d honestly be down for Nagito, Hajime, and Chiaki together I mean they don’t have to fight. Aerith and Tifa never fought and actually could get along and AerTi is a ship that people like too so three doesn’t have to be a crowd
-There are a few things I am unsure of, like Chiaki’s reaction that Kamukura is evil? Does Kamukura recognize her and still kill her? What about that plot thread where she and Chihiro are related? What is up with Kuzuryu and Peko like why is she fighting against him and does he ever figure out it is her? And I want Kamukura redeemed but how?? I have way too many characters as well and Makoto and Kirigiri technically don’t have to be there but I just wanted them to be there XD And for whatever reason they are building bombs and detonating reactors... joy... And why are Kaito, Shuichi and Maki working for a guy they don’t like and doing evil things? (I mean I genuinely like them so what gives, Kimmy?)
I gave this AU a lot of thought, but it comes with so many plotholes and inconsistencies in story and/or characters XD
But listen... FF7 is a great game. And because of it I haven’t been able to sleep until I finished thinking about this AU XD

Character Study:
— basics.
▸ is your muse tall / short / average ?
Nagito is pretty average, standing at 180cm (5'10")
▸ are they okay with their height ?
Completely fine with it. Not too short and not too tall.
▸ what’s their hair like ?
White with very pale brown at the ends, which is what remains of his natural hair color. Fluffy, with slight curl at the ends.
▸ do they spend a lot of time on their hair / grooming ?
No. He brushes it, and that's about it. He looks like the 'just got out of bed' type pretty much all the time, but it's clean and 'tidy' otherwise.
▸ does your muse care about their appearance / what others think ?
He does put some effort into his clothing. What may look 'comfortable' is often expensive clothing. His green jacket he did alter himself. You could say, then, it's about 50% both ways. As for what others think or may think? He views himself as lower in standing, so he really wears what he likes overall, not looking to impress anyone.
— preferences.
▸ indoors or outdoors ? Both? Complicated.
▸ rain or sunshine ? Rain
▸ forest or beach ? Forest
▸ precious metals or gems ? Metals
▸ flowers or perfumes ? Flowers
▸ personality or appearance ? Personality
▸ being alone or being in a crowd ? Alone. He wants and desires friendships and relationships, but being around him is dangerous and potentially fatal business due to his 'luck.' So he keeps distance.
▸ order or anarchy ? Both.
▸ painful truths or white lies ? Both. Nagito does not possess a filter, and will often say bold, strange or hateful things without much ill intent as he cannot help that. He is also not above telling a white lie to achieve a goal or bring out a reaction.
▸ science or magic ? Sometimes neither and sometimes both.
▸ peace or conflict ? Preferably peace, but he will cause occasional conflict.
▸ night or day ? Night.
▸ dusk or dawn ? Dusk.
▸ warmth or cold ? Warmth.
▸ many acquaintances or a few close friends ? He would prefer many, but he's chosen a few close friends.
▸ reading or playing a game ? reading
— questionnaire.
▸ what are some of your muse’s bad habits ?
1: While Nagito is actually kind and helpful for the most part, he can also fall into thinking that he is helping when in fact he isn't. Most of it is due to his luck giving way to bad luck (it cycles), which then influences those he is trying to help. The results are then catastrophic and have the complete opposite effect.
Also, he could also do something in the name of "helping" but it's done in such a way it makes zero sense or it's completely backwards or extreme. For example: he blew up the gymnasium to postpone school testing. He did so after a student was murdered, to allow more time for other students to study. For this he was briefly suspended.
Moral: Be wary of asking for his help. While he means well and has good intentions, it's just that his moral compass is highly skewed due to trauma and disease.
2: Nagito is also absolutely horrible about self-deprecation (putting himself down). He often calls himself: worthless, trash, scum or a bug. This is because he doesn't see himself on the same level as the other Ultimates, who actually have a far more useful Talent. At least, in his eyes anyway.
3: He doesn't hesitate to push people away as he doesn't want his cycling luck to harm anyone he holds dear.
4: He OBSESSES over good luck, bad luck and hope. All three because of trauma, but hope he latches onto because he sees it as something more constant.
▸ has your muse lost anyone close to them ? how has it affected them ?
1: Nagito has lost both of his parents in a tragic airplane accident after a meteor struck it while it was still parked in Christobal airport. He was present and the only survivor. While he gained a large inheritance, he blamed himself for their deaths and because of it kept others at arm's length in case something similar should happen to them. The incident left him with PTSD, especially in regards to being outside where he fears meteors could strike him dead, too. He dropped pretty much all hobbies due to his luck cycle besides reading, as he claims it is the least affected.
2: As a child, Nagito also had a pet dog. Though, the dog was later struck by a car and killed. This also caused some attachment issues in his life as the event also devastated him.
3: He had been relatively close to Chiaki during his time at Hope's Peak Academy and he (partially) blames himself for her death. Even in the throes of Despair due to watching Junko's brainwashing video, he cried over her death. Even during the School Fieldtrip, he had still upheld her as a sort of innocent compared to the rest of the 'Despairs.'
▸ what are some fond memories your muse has ?
Nagito does have some fond memories of his classmates, even if he isn't necessarily close to any of them. He has some fonder memories of Chiaki, though, and Fuyuhiko.
His memory is a bit spotty, however.
(In an AU, he meets Hajime through Chiaki and the three become pretty close friends. With some reluctance via Nagito at first because Hajime is a Reserve Course Student, after all).
▸ is it easy for your muse to kill ?
Not necessarily 'easy,' but possibly? Yes. If the time and place calls for it. He was fully willing to shoot and kill Junko, fully willing to kill himself with the Russian roulette and actually succeeded in killing himself. . . Though the latter took several factors in case one failed.
He also killed while in Despair.
Does he regret what he did? Yes. He's trying to do better and plans to for the remainder of his potentially short life.
▸ what’s it like when your muse breaks down ?
An absolute wreck. When in grip of Despair, he will ramble endlessly about hope like a drug. It's his coping mechanism. His eyes swirl with Despair, he holds himself in his arms. He will backtrack on what he says or deny things. At that point, all inhibitions are gone.
▸ is your muse capable of trusting someone with their life ?
Nagito is willing, but it would take a specific 'strong' person. Strong as in, not perish to the bad second-hand cycle of Nagito's luck.
▸ what’s your muse like when they’re in love ?
Obsessive, almost unhealthily so. He isn't above following or the like, but he isn't so bad as a 'stalker.' Otherwise, he wants to be close to his love interest. He wants to be able enjoy even the little things with them.
Nagito can be charming, helpful, kind, and is more than willing to care for the needs of his lover above his own. He ups the friendliness and romance.
Just be careful, as he can be all those good things, and also flip a switch and suddenly become rather intense.

DR2 girls when they realize they’re pregnant?
Akane Owari
- The results from her home pregnancy test came out positive. She wasn’t sure how pregnancy tests worked or how to read the results it produced, so you had to make sure you explained things thoroughly with her. So a positive result means … that she could eat as much as she wanted, and use the excuse that she was eating for two! Which also means … that she is pregnant!
- At first, Akane was extremely fired up and determined to maintain a robust and athletic figure during her pregnancy, but it came to you as no surprise when she abandoned her routines and schedules. Despite what it seemed though, Akane was actually concerned for her unborn child, and the consequences and possible strain her child might endure if she were to train as she usually would.
- You decide to consult her closest friend, Nekomaru Nidai, the Ultimate Team Manager. The two of you were close, and you trusted him to figure out the best way to encourage and train Akane, as to lift her fighting spirit as well as perpetuate your unborn child’s safety.
- Once her new training with Nekomaru became a regular, Akane was back to her normal self, with occasional mood swings. Her dispositions were now amplified versions of what they once were before her pregnancy, and you would always try your absolute best to assist her in whatever way you could.
- Because she has had seven younger siblings, all of who looked up to her for guidance, she does indeed have experience with ‘hungry small things.’ The two of you enjoy spending your time coming up with names for your child, and she reassures you that it’ll be a name that she will never forget.
Chiaki Nanami
- Chiaki was surprisingly calm when the home pregnancy test came out positive. She released a sigh of relief, as the two of you have been trying for a child for quite a while now. She decides that she wishes to surprise you with the news in a unique way, and that way was to make you sit through hours of a farming simulation roleplaying game until the two of you married and had a child. You ask (tiredly but amusingly) what the meaning of this was, but she simply smiles and asks what you wished to name your long awaited child. And you knew.
- The Ultimate Gamer became much sleepier than usual now that she was pregnant, going so far as to fall asleep during meals and afternoon walks and nighttime outings. You had to constantly be vigilant to ensure that she does not fall asleep whilst crossing the street or whilst speaking to someone. You never left her side when the two of you were out.
- You found it hilarious whenever she would use her protruding tummy as a ‘table’ for her bowls of snacks or for her drink. You always replaced whatever you took off her stomach, whether it be a cup for a sip or a bowl to get the last of the chips, and she didn’t seem to mind at all.
- The two of you diligently prepared a room for your child (she insisted that she help because she didn’t want you to do all of the work) and made sure it was well adorned with ‘helpful’ video game characters in hopes that they will guide the new player three throughout their journey.
Hiyoko Saionji
- Upon discovering that she was pregnant, Hiyoko was relieved, relieved to know that she could finally break the next child born into the family free from the mold that once imprisoned her so.
- The news was promptly passed onto you through the means of a traditional dance in combination with parts that she coordinated herself. The principal dance you recognize as the sparrow dance, also known as ‘suzume odori,’ a traditional Japanese dance based on the fluttering movements of the Eurasian tree sparrow, but as her sequence of steps and movements continued, you began to realize that she was telling a story of new beginnings through the art of dance, and you knew that you were going to be a father when she concluded the story with her hands on her stomach.
- Hiyoko requested that the two of you relocate to a secluded village in Hokkaido, and leave unbeknownst to her parents and family. She wished to raise her child in the nurturing and attentive manner in which she never received, far away from traditionalist values and views and in the quiet countryside. After saying her farewells, the two of you left the place she was born and raised. Left behind was also her title as heiress to the Saionji clan.
Ibuki Mioda
- The two of you have yet to wed, as you encouraged her to pursue her dream as a musician in earnest. You insisted that she put her dreams before you, and that you didn’t mind waiting for her for as long as she needed. This was what Ibuki had always wanted, someone as her soulmate rather than an intimate partner, and you understood that.
- But as time persisted, the two of you could not resist becoming devoted in a more amorous manner, and surely enough, the news that she was pregnant was difficult for her to digest.
- She believed that becoming pregnant and delivering a child and then raising the child meant that her dream of touring around the world and performing music for people to enjoy would be abruptly halted. It took you countless tries to calm her down and speak to her, and you made a promise to keep her dream alive.
- You began to save up money for a larger tour bus, as well as ‘on the go’ necessities that she and your child might need. You were also determined to be committed to taking care of your child in Ibuki’s place whilst still ensuring that she has quality time with the child as well. You became her manager and as manager, you lessened the performances and tours that she would partake in, but not so much so that she would miss out on her dream.
- It was a wonderful and satisfying sight to see Ibuki perform so exuberantly and vivaciously on stage with her round tummy. She performed without a care in the world and as if her child gave her the strength to. Before every performance, she would always give you a shoutout and thank you for everything you have done to preserve her dream.
- Not too long after, the two of you finally got married, and continued as a traveling musician, manager, and soon to be rock star baby.
Mahiru Koizumi
- The two of you led a rather normal and tranquil life in a modernized, always photogenic apartment, filled to the brim with various types of succulents and flowers and plants. As a part of her career, Mahiru would take daily walks downtown, to the park, to the rose garden, to museums, and any other scenic areas available and close by, and whenever you could, you would tag along.
- Both you and your beloved greatly anticipated the results of the home pregnancy test, and were ecstatic to find that it was positive. To celebrate, dinner was reserved at a high end restaurant in the city, and shortly afterward, a walk in the park in the night.
- During the stroll, Mahiru reveals that her mother was a famous war photographer, which led her to be absent from the majority of her life while her father was just a poor parent who always left all the house chores unattended to and contributed very little to the family. She is worried about her career as a photographer rendering her to the same fate as her mother: a truant parent who chased their dreams so far in the distance that they did not look back at what they had left at home.
- You reassure her that that would never happen, as she is a person who is generally aware of her current standings and is extremely mindful to the people around her. You also remind her that, you too, are a reliable and responsible person, and she laughs, stating that she would not be with you if you weren’t.
Mikan Tsumiki
- She insisted that she deliver the baby herself when the time comes, freaking you out. Despite not having much experience in the medical field, you wouldn’t want Mikan to endure any unnecessary stress, strain, or difficulties during an already difficult procedure.
- Your relationship with Mikan has been a trying one; it has always been clear that she has extremely low-self esteem, and as her partner you have always been trying your best to remedy that. She often tells you that you are the only person who has ever shown her any genuine and pure kindness, and she truly does appreciate it with all of her heart. While it was toilsome trying to undue her past experiences, all you could hope for was to make new, better ones.
- She seems to wholeheartedly enjoy preparing for the child who was well on their way, so the two of you spend the majority of your time educating yourselves on the basics of parenting, a baby’s needs, and the development of a child (even though she already knows quite a lot on the subject, the time spent doing this with her seems to calm and soothe her greatly).
- The child’s room was also carefully prepared and well decorated, and it was a sweet sight to see Mikan spend the majority of her time alone in silence in the room, free from the judgements and harmful words and actions of others for once.
Peko Pekoyama
- Nothing accompanied the news of her pregnancy more than fear and worry for Peko. Despite being in a relationship with you, she still served her original master and childhood friend, Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu, much to his chagrin. He only wished that, now that Peko has found someone to dedicate herself to and love, she would finally live her own life as an individual, a real individual, rather than just some tool that is to be used.
- For the next couple of days, Peko was in extreme distress, as having this child would either mean leaving her master unattended while she cared for her child, or be absent in the development of her child and continue her duty as Fuyuhiko’s hitwoman, a deed she could not forgive but must overlook if she had to.
- You decide to speak to Fuyuhiko about the situation. He admits that he was brashly planning to commit suicide, to completely obliterate Peko’s option of choosing to remain by his side. However, you remind him that such a decision would only cause Peko even more strain and suffering, as she is likely going to believe that it was her fault and her doing, albeit indirectly. He agrees, but struggles to find a solution to the issue.
- The two of you speak to each other for quite a while, and have come to the solution that Fuyuhiko was to move in (the decision did not come without struggle, as he was extremely hesitant to make such a drastic change). You consider him a close friend, and have no problems with sharing your life with him as well as Peko.
- You deliver the news to Peko, who was overwhelmed with appreciation for the both of you. She thanks you for your selfless choice, but you were more than happy to be a part of a happy family of four.
Sonia Nevermind
- It was a bit overwhelming to be in a relationship with the princess and soon to be queen of Novoselic. The wedding was phenomenal (but extremely demanding) and you don’t recall ever having to be on your best behavior for such extended periods of time. Nevertheless, you and Sonia decide that it would be best that you began your lives somewhere quiet, and prepare for the inevitable and much anticipated arrival of your child.
- It was extremely important to Sonia that her child understood humility and modesty, so the two of you did your best to stray away from the extravagant and lavish lifestyle that she had led.
- Your child was to be well educated, shrewd, and worldly, and when they became of age, only then could they claim the prestige title of prince or princess. Numerous books and textbooks were prepared for your child as they would advance and age (you decide that books regarding serial killers and the occult set aside by Sonia were to be left out).
- Sonia constantly worries herself over whether or not her child would be a good person, and you reassured her that with your combined parenting, that they will be. Often, you would sit yourself right beside Sonia, and enjoy the view from where you sat and indulge in long conversations and dialogues with each other about life and what having a child will be like. Life was perfect and faultless, and you couldn’t be happier and neither could she.

Hi! I wanna know more about the spawn! Is she the type to climb trees and get stuck like fuyupapa? If so, who gets to rescue her , peko or bodyguards? ( or does fuyu try first and gets stuck as well?)
Sure, I’d love to tell you more about The Spawn!!!
The Spawn is a littlefireball who loves pushing boundaries and speaking her mind, which is, in nosmall part, thanks to her parents consistently encouraging her to be honestwith her feelings, not to mention having the best yakuza aunts and uncles ever.
She would absolutely climb a tree and get stuck in it,although she doesn’t get stuck all the time. Only for the really tall ones.Luckily Fuyuhiko is old enough now not to get stuck in trees, which means he’soften chasing after her to get her down. Peko helps her too, but Fuyuhiko usuallyinsists he be the one to do it, to “make up for all the times she had to chaseafter his sorry ass.”

Two left feet, and no good moves
For @shcherbatskayas, who was feeling the sads!
This is meant to take place in the same AU as her The Insistence of Light ‘verse, which is amazing and fantastic and you should absolutely read it right away if you haven’t already.
I hope you like it, dear!!
“They’re gonna laugh at me.”
“Nobody’s going to laugh at you.”
“Easy for you to say. You’ve been doing this since you were, like, six.”
Fuyuhiko balances his cheek against his fist, one hand gripping the steering wheel. He sighs in a way that makes Peko frown, which is, admittedly, just about the last thing he’d want her to do tonight, of all nights, but it’s not like he can just get rid of the overwhelming dread clouding his brain.
It’s their first, proper date in weeks. They’d been swamped with exams and college applications. Peko had buried herself beneath weeks of note-taking and essay-writing and late-night study sessions just to meet her deadlines. (He’s happy to see her taking charge of her own future, at least, away from the life his parents stole from her.) So he thought he’d surprise her by taking her out for a night on the town. “Anything you want,” he’d said, “just name it.” She didn’t even hesitate. She’d asked to go dancing at a local dance studio for one of their ballroom dancing nights. He had balked at the idea of floundering in front of a room full of living, breathing human beings, but he’d taken one look at the big-eyed, hopeful expression on her face and there was no way he could say no.
Which is all fine and good, but it doesn’t change the problem in the first place: he’s never danced a day in his life. Real dancers go to ballrooms like these, dancers who live and breathe this shit and would know at a glance how decidedly not good he is, especially compared to his classically-trained girlfriend.
It’s not a great way to start a date.
“Give yourself more credit. You’re really good at self-defense,” Peko says, half-turned in her seat.
“Self-defense isn’t dancing, Peko.”
“It’s not so different. Once you know how to move, you just need to put it to a rhythm.”
He groans. It’s not like he’s trying to be a downer. He wants her to have a good night. He wants her to do something she actually likes. He wants her to let loose and have fun, and he’s ninety-nine percent sure that’d be far more manageable without him getting in her way. He has half a mind to call up someone, Natsumi, Naegi, Ishimaru, anyone to take his place so she can dance proper and actually enjoy herself.
Peko reaches over the console and places her hand over his. “It won’t be bad. I promise,” she says seriously.
He has to keep his eyes on the road, but he catches her expression in his peripheral, soft and endeared. It softens the line of his brow, just a bit. “If you say so,” he mumbles.
Maybe she smiles again, he can’t tell for sure, but she leans back in her seat and folds her hands in her lap. Even though he still feels the uncomfortable weight in the pit of his belly, it’s impossible not to feel some level of hope, because if Peko Pekoyama tells you something like that, you better damn well believe her.
They pull up next to the dance studio. It’s a nondescript type of building sandwiched between an old travel agency and an Italian deli. There’s a semi-functioning neon sign hung over the door.
“We’re here,” Peko says, as though it weren’t obvious enough. She unlatches her seat belt and clamors out the door before he even has the chance to shut off the ignition.
She practically leaves him in the dust as she heads towards the studio. She’s got her dance shoes on already. It’s one of the rare times Peko will actually wear heels. Her skirt flutters behind her, soft and flowy.
Damn, he hasn’t seen her this excited in a long time. The fear comes back anew, seizing up his joints and leaving his throat dry. What kind of asshole does he have to be not to escort her to the door? His mother taught him better than that. Again he feels the urge to hit the first speed-dial on his phone so Natsumi can hurry over and take his place.
It’s too late now. For better or worse, he’s gotta own up to this, whatever this is.
He takes a deep breath and follows after her.
The heavy metal door creaks when he swings it open. It bangs against the adjoining wall, and the sound echoes around the room like a gunshot in a canyon.
The place is empty.
He knits his brows. “Uh,” he says, glancing around. “This the right place?”
Peko smiles enigmatically. “This is the right place.”
“Where is everyone—?”
“It’ll be just us,” she says. When he stares at her, dumbstruck, she clarifies, “I called in a few favors. I thought it might help loosen you up a bit if you didn’t have other people to worry about.”
His breath sticks in his throat, but not in the bad way this time. He is struck by the realization that she would go so far as to do something like this, just for him. Even after all his whining, and complaining, and sighing. She didn’t have to.
But she did.
He laughs, after a moment: a short, breathy sound. “You’re an angel,” he says.
Her shoulders bunch up to her ears when she smiles, bashful, and it’s certifiably the most adorable thing he’s ever seen.
The click of her heels reverberates around the ballroom as she hurries across the dance floor. “We have the place to ourselves for a couple hours. It’s usually better dancing with a live band, but we have full access to the sound system.”
She hooks her phone up to the system. A dulcet, melodious song starts playing over the speakers like something you’d hear in a fancy-ass French café.
He shrugs and reaches out to her. “Well, let’s give it a shot.”
She takes his hands and leads him through the basic steps. She says a waltz should be easy enough for him without being overwhelming. It’s pretty simple, in theory, just a one-two-three step, again and again. She shows him a smaller box step to start, and then demonstrates how to take wider, traveling strides. With the ballroom empty, they can take all the room they need.
He admits, it’s not as bad as he thought it would be. Like this, he doesn’t have to worry about what his hands are doing, held up in just one position, and he only steps on her toes once. (Given the way he reacts, though, he might as well have stepped on her toes a hundred times.) But her eyes are focused and bright, and her skirt flares around her calves like a flower when she spins, and he’s captivated.
“See? It’s just like walking. Only to a beat,” Peko says.
Eventually, when he feels confident enough, he insists on leading. He’s got the basic steps down, and a few of the combinations, it’s just a matter of weaving them all together. They reconfigure, and she offers him her hands without hesitation. (That’s always gonna hit him like a truck—in the good way—how she believes in him so firmly.) He tries to concentrate on his feet and the music and her eyes all at once. She’s patient, filling in the awkward gaps when he misses a step, or gently nudging his elbows up when they droop too low.
He manages to catch her by surprise when he suddenly dips her in his arms. It’s impulsive, a spot of bravery, and he takes some smug satisfaction in the way she stares up at him, wide-eyed and flushed. He smirks down at her, because he can’t help himself, but then she cranes her neck up and kisses him, and when he rights them both up again, he’s grinning like he just won the lottery.
The hour ticks by. They flow seamlessly from one song, to the next, to the next. His feet are starting to ache from all the nonstop dancing, but he doesn’t give a shit, because Peko’s not stopping, so neither will he, and she’s looking at him like he’s personally responsible for every good thing in her life. (That’s how he imagines he’s looking at her, at least.)
They’re so deeply wrapped up in each other that they don’t even notice when the heavy door swings open again. It’s not until someone clears their throat do they bother acknowledging something other than each other.
Peko tears her eyes away from him long enough to look at their newcomer. It’s an older woman he doesn’t recognize, lines around her eyes; Peko seems to recognize her all the same. She steps back, just enough to grant him his space, but keeps their hands linked.
“You two have fun?” the woman asks. The corners of her eyes crinkle when she smiles.
Peko looks down at him for confirmation. He smiles back, in that goofy, lopsided way, and that’s answer enough.
“Yes,” Peko says. “Thank you very much.”
The moon is high by the time they leave the studio and climb into the car. Peko watches the building disappear in the side-view mirror as they drive away.
After a few minutes of driving in silence, he says, “We should do this again sometime.”
She’s trying not to get her hopes up, even though it rises on her face like a daisy. Her fingers twist in her lap, like she’s trying to contain her emotions, but he sees the way her cheeks color and her shoulders tense. “I’m not sure if we’d be able to get the ballroom to ourselves again,” she says slowly, carefully.
“That’s okay.” He shrugs with just his right shoulder, and glances over before the traffic light changes. His smile is wide, unrestrained. “We can do it like normal, with everyone else around. Then we could dance to a live band, right?”
He’s thinking he should’ve brought his sunglasses, because in the next moment, she beams so bright it’s like she could illuminate the whole goddamn city.
“Yes,” Peko says, and settles back into her seat in silence, too happy to speak.
