Good news!

Red wolf pups (Canis rufus) have been born in the wild for the first time in four years. The six pups were born in mid-April 2022 in Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge in North Carolina.

Red wolves are a separate species from the more well-known gray wolf (Canis lupus). They were declared extinct in the wild in 1980. Restoration attempts throughout the ensuing decades have been fraught. As of 2021 there were an estimated 15-17 in the wild (all in NC) and 241 captive wolves involved in the Species Survival Plan.

The odds may be stacked against the red wolf, but this litter brings a spark of hope all the same.

I started my 3D in May 2021 (SW about 130) which was really just counting calories and ending up limiting myself to 1200 (I didn’t use a scale so I was likely eating 1400-1600). In December 2021 I began experiencing binge eating, which continued until March 2022 and I gained about 40lbs. I began b/p cycles from March-May 2022 and was finally able to stop and have a healthy relationship w food and stop counting cals. I used tumblr a lot during this time (Aug-Nov ‘21) but never made an account and just looked at 3D related tags which I used as Inspo / mealspo. I started coming back to tumblr around June 2023 because I got super self conscious after vacations with boyfriend and I just made my account yesterday. I am currently 140lbs, which isn’t the worst but certainly not where I want to be. I am currently getting into orthorexia a bit because I truly believe that things like seed oils and glyphosate are horrible for you.

Really going to take my time with Burning Shores because I’m NOT looking forward to the Horizon drought over the next few years.

I played the first game in lockdown, summer 2020, we got the trailer and gameplay footage for Forbidden West in 2021, FW came out in 2022, now Burning Shores in 2023. I’ve had fresh annual Horizon content for three years. I’ve 100% finished both main games, both NG+ and Frozen Wilds, and read all the comics.

Once I’m done with this DLC there’ll be nothing. Third game isn’t even (officially) confirmed yet.

Is it helpful for the team for drivers to test old cars? Or is it just for the drivers’ benefit? (Also I’m curious: when you see a car name like MCL35 or whatever, do you usually know exactly what year it’s from? Also, is there a pattern teams follow with the numbers so you could guess what year if you didn’t know off the top of your head?)

It’s mostly just for the drivers benefit as they get to develop skills and also keep themselves switched on, but obviously it’s helpful for the team to compare driver characteristics and driver ability.

For the most part I just know certain years cars by heart, they all have their own naming methods.

When it comes to knowing what year it is, most teams will be testing 2021 cars as they are the most recent ones. When it comes to earlier cars there’s usually slight differences that can be picked up on.

Mercedes: W[number], e.g. W13 is the current car, W is for Wagen the German for car and the number is the iteration of the car. The W01 was the first Mercedes F1 car from 2010, so with Mercedes it’s pretty easy to work it out

Red Bull: RB[number], e.g. RB18 is the current car. RB stands for Red Bull and the number is the iteration of the car, with the RB1 being the 2005 car, although they called what should have been the RB17 the RB16B because of its similarities to its predecessor.

Ferrari: there is no naming method here at the moment, they just tend to name their cars after certain anniversaries

McLaren: MCL[number], e.g. MCL36 is the current car, the MCL stands for McLaren and the number is carried over from their older F1 cars which were named MP4-[number], the numbers are pretty continuous (2021 was MCL35M though because of its similarities to the 2020 car the MCL35)

Alpine: A5[year], e.g. A522 is the current car, the numbering system is in reference to Alpine’s road car naming system

AlphaTauri: AT[number], e.g. AT03 is the current car. AT stands for AlphaTauri, their first year was 2020 and they ran the AT01 and since then it’s been consecutive

Aston Martin: AMR[year], e.g. AMR22 is the current car. AMR stands for Aston Martin Racing and 22 is for 2022

Williams: FW[number], e.g. FW44 is the current car. FW stands for Frank Williams, who founded the team and the number is in reference to the number of iterations of the car, starting with the Williams FW in 1973.

Alfa Romeo: C[number], e.g. C42 is the current car. The C stands for Christine which was the wife of the previous owner of the team (Peter Sauber), starting with the C12 in 1993 (C40 skipped)

Haas: VF-[year], e.g. VF-22 is the current car. Their initial F1 car was the VF-16 which debuted for the 2016 season. Haas is actually a machining company who makes milling machines and their first one was called the VF-1 which unofficially stood for Very First 1, the F1 car names are a homage to that.

Same fashion anon! I didn't mean to imply that I thought the oversized suiting was bad tailoring or even something I didn't enjoy- I don't think any of the houses walking at PFW would ever send anything down with objectively bad tailoring. What I meant was that there seems to be a significant trend towards larger suiting, especially strong shoulders (you see this in the Saint Laurent collection too- which I also agree was elegant and lovely and really well done. In my personal top 5 for sure. I'm glad to see them returning to their roots after the turn towards a more glam-rock style during the mid 2010s. Did you see their SS this year? I liked it more than FW)

When you see a bunch of collections all showing similar silhouettes, it starts to feel same-y after four or five. That's all I meant.

Dior still feels like a weird fit for Jimin for me. Like you, I'd prefer to see him in a brand that's a little more elegant, a little more androgynous. Sports-inspired just doesn't feel like a good match, but what do I know? Saint Laurent is one for sure, I think he would have killed in those Valentino fits Yoongi was wearing, again I like Lemaire for a more casual feel but I doubt they could afford him. Still, I haven't passed judgement yet. Anything is better than LV after the disaster that was all of their styling in 2021/2022. Patiently waiting to see what comes.

Thanks for clarifying your comments re tailoring. I see what you mean now about larger suiting and yep, it is more of an aesthetic choice that looks like it's going to stick for a while anyway. I haven't seen the Saint Laurent S/S, but I'll check it out. I didn't really keep up lately and probably wouldn't have done it now if it weren't for Jimin, but it's an opportunity to go back to my interests from years before.

I still don't see why exactly Dior and Jimin are that good of a match when we know Jimin looks absolutely stunning and has this regal feel to it whenever he goes for something really elegant, with an air of mistery around him. A bit untouchable and clearly the highlight everywhere. The Dior suit didn't really achieve that.

But, leaving aside these complaints/personal opinions, at least there's no more LV in sight. I've had it with those clothes and all the red carpet/event looks. I just hated it because it also came after Jungkook was going into a more genderless style of clothing and he was experimenting with his sillhoutte and then it was all gone. I know he is usually the one who experiments the most and is open to change so I can't blaim LV solely for that, but the timing did no good.

Y/n watches Harry as she rides up to his farm on her horse, smiling at him before hopping down. Today she was dressed in a big oversized flannel, only one button together with a white tank top under with tiny jean shorts that weren’t buttons and instead flipped down like she would with one size of her overalls in true farm girl fashion. “Hi, Harry.” She flashes her teeth in an excited smile, petting Jelly bean and tying him up to the fence then walking over to where Harry was. She had to admit that she's been thinking about coming over ever since he incited her. Would he be different when they were alone? What if he was just being nice and didn't really want to see her? What did his house look like? Would he invite her in?

“Hi.” He returns her smile and puts his hammer down to finish building the wooden swing for two he would eventually anchor to a tree limb strong enough so he could set out and enjoy his morning coffee to the sight of the sun rising.

“I wanna see the baby horse.” Y/n giggles and reminds him of the reason he made these plans while rubbing her hands together excitedly.

“She’s in the barn, let’s walk back.”

They walk to his big barn in comfortable silence and during the walk up Y/n takes this time to study his land. He seemed to keep things tidy, the animals she could make out from where she was seemed to be well kept with the lawn perfectly trimmed and beautifully green. Harry pushes the big barn door open and welcomes her in. “Your barn is so cute.” She peers in, anxiously playing with her hair that was kept from her face with a crochet head scarf. “Thanks.” Y/n peeks over the stall Harry pointed to, smiling when she sees the horse.

“Hi” she softly sings, smiling at the tiny horse who curiously looks back at her, wondering who the new visitor is. “She’s so cute, what’s her name?”

“Stella.” Harry mumbles, which he seemed to do a lot, and opens the stall. “She’s so cute, oh my goodness.” The horse trots over to Y/n, allowing the new human to pet over her stinky mane. “You’ve got such a pretty farm. She’s a gorgeous horse.”

“Thank you.”

The horse nuzzles into Y/n’s hand, closing her eyes. “You’re tired, aren’t you? Let’s get you back in your stall, sweet thing.” Y/n turns to Harry after she leads the tiny horse back into her stall, “I’ve only ever heard about your farm so I want the grand tour.” Harry gives a petite nod before walking out of the barn and pointing to some things. “My ducks, those are my cows, sheep, goats, come over here and I’ll show you the bunnies.”
