[TASK 175: SAINT LUCIA]
In celebration of December 13th being Saint Lucian National Day, here’s a masterlist below compiled of over 210+ Saint Lucian faceclaims categorised by gender with their occupation and ethnicity denoted if there was a reliable source. If you want an extra challenge use random.org to pick a random number! Of course everything listed below are just suggestions and you can pick whichever faceclaim or whichever project you desire.
Any questions can be sent here and all tutorials have been linked below the cut for ease of access! REMEMBER to tag your resources with #TASKSWEEKLY and we will reblog them onto the main! This task can be tagged with whatever you want but if you want us to see it please be sure that our tag is the first five tags, @ mention us or send us a messaging linking us to your post!
THE TASK - scroll down for FC’s!
STEP 1: Decide on a FC you wish to create resources for! You can always do more than one but who are you starting with? There are links to masterlists you can use in order to find them and if you want help, just send us a message and we can pick one for you at random!
STEP 2: Pick what you want to create! You can obviously do more than one thing, but what do you want to start off with? Screencaps, RP icons, GIF packs, masterlists, PNG’s, fancasts, alternative FC’s - LITERALLY anything you desire!
STEP 3: Look back on tasks that we have created previously for tutorials on the thing you are creating unless you have whatever it is you are doing mastered - then of course feel free to just get on and do it. :)
STEP 4: Upload and tag with #TASKSWEEKLY! If you didn’t use your own screencaps/images make sure to credit where you got them from as we will not reblog packs which do not credit caps or original gifs from the original maker.
THINGS YOU CAN MAKE FOR THIS TASK -  examples are linked!
Stumped for ideas? Maybe make a masterlist or graphic of your favourite faceclaims. A masterlist of names. Plot ideas or screencaps from a music video preformed by an artist. Masterlist of quotes and lyrics that can be used for starters, thread titles or tags. Guides on culture and customs.

Manchester United suffered a humiliating defeat.
Manchester United lost 0-2 to Manchester City in the 11th round of the English Premier League (EPL) for the 2021/2022 season held at Old Trafford on the 6th at 9:30 pm (Korean time). Manchester United (17 points) maintained fifth place, while Manchester City (23 points) overtook Liverpool (22 points) to occupy second place.
Home team Manchester United brought out a 3-4-1-2 formation. Cristiano Ronaldo and Mason Greenwood stood at the forefront. It was supported by Bruno Fernandes. The midfield consisted of Scott McTominay and Fred, with Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka as both wing-backs. The defense was built by Harry Maguire, Eric Bai and Victor Lindelof, and the goal was kept by David de Gea.
The away team will face off in a 4-3-3 formation. Phil Foden, Bernardo Silva and Gabriel Jesus took the lead. The midfield consisted of Ilkai Gundogan, Rodri and Kevin De Bruyne. The back line was built by Joao Cancelou, John Stones, Hubeng Dias and Kyle Walker, and the goalkeeper was Ederson.
Man City opened the door. Silva, who received a pass from De Bruyne in the 3rd minute of the first half, hit a shot with his left foot that went over the target. In the 6th minute of the first half, Maguire made a header from a free-kick, but he turned away from the goal.
Manchester City took the lead in the 7th minute. Bai tried to clear a cross posted by Cancelo from the left flank and it was sucked into the goal. City had the ball as usual, and when it was lost, they pressed immediately. Manchester United barely crossed the center line.
Manchester United made a great scene. In the 26th minute, a cross from Luke Shaw's left side was crossed by Ronaldo with a left-footed volley. However, he could not get past Ederson. Manchester City missed a crucial opportunity in the 29th minute. The defender blocked Forden's cross with De Bruyne's shot. Afterwards, Jejus hit the ball hard, but it was blocked by De Gea.
Gufu Man City beat Man Utd. De Gea saved a shot from De Bruyne in the 34th minute. Manchester City widened the gap in the 45th minute. Silva flooded with Cancelo's cross from outside the box, and his foot shook the net with his foot.
At the start of the second half, Manchester United, who were behind 0-2, removed Bai and replaced Jayden Sancho. Manchester United took the lead after making major changes. But I didn't get a chance like this.
In the 21st minute of the second half, a shot that Gundogan struck from a difficult position bounced off the side net. Manchester United replaced Greenwood in the 22nd minute and replaced Marcus Rashford. Manchester United, who were unable to resolve the attack, replaced Donnie van der Beek in the 35th minute of the second half.
In the 37th minute of the second half, Manchester City's left footed shot hit the post. In the 41st minute of the second half, from a corner kick, Stones' turning shot fell to the side of the post. Manchester United struggled with the pressure of City in extra time, and in the end, City laughed.

11/4/21 Results + 12/4/21 Predictions
Results:
Tottenham:1 Man Utd:3
West Ham:3 Leicester:2
Sheffield United:0 Arsenal:3
Burnley:1 Newcastle:2
15 goals were scored in Sunday's four games and the gap at the top was cut to 11 points after Man Utd came from behind again this time beating Tottenham 3-1. Edinson Cavani had an opener for United controversially ruled out on 33 minutes after VAR spotted a flailing arm from Scott McTominay on Heung-Min-Son in the build-up and the South Korean punished the away side further by putting Spurs ahead with a far-post finish from a Lucas Moura cross five minutes before the break. United were level early in the second half as Fred pounced when a Cavani shot was parried into his path by Hugo Lloris. The visitors were ahead 10 minutes from time when a Cavani diving header found the net before in the 96th minute sub Mason Greenwood who provided the cross for Cavani scored himself smashing home after brilliant work from Paul Pogba. The result leaves United firmly in second place with nine points separating them and fifth place while Tottenham are 7th six points off 4th with European football looking less likely for next season. In the other games West Ham boosted their Champions League hopes with a 3-2 home win over Leicester. Jesse Lingard scored twice on 29+44 minutes with Jarrod Bowen sweeping home the third three minutes into the second half as the points seemed to be in the bag but Kelechi Iheanacho gave Leicester hope 20 minutes from time with an unstoppable drive and he added a second in stoppage time with his ninth goal in six games but West Ham held on to move back into 4th while Leicester stay 3rd now just one point above the Hammers after back-to-back league defeats. Relegation is closer for Sheffield United after they were beaten 3-0 by Arsenal. The Gunners were looking to end a four game winless run and took the lead when Alexandre Lacazette finished off a brilliant team move on 33 minutes. Gabriel Martinelli scored his first Arsenal goal in 15 months after a serious knee injury to put them 2 in front with 19 minutes left before Lacazette scored his 50th league goal in the closing minutes. The win moved Arsenal back up to ninth while United look doomed they are rock bottom 18 points adrift of 17th placed Newcastle with 21 points to play for with the Championship beckoning. The Toon had a good day beating Burnley 2-1. It didn't start well when Matej Vydra put Burnley in front on 18 minutes but everything changed just before the hour when Allen Saint- Maximin was brought on he provided the assist for Jacob Murphy to level things up on 59 minutes before the Frenchman scored a brilliant solo goal to put his side in front five minutes later. Despite a barrage Newcastle held on thanks mainly to a outstanding performance from Martin Dubravka in goal for a vital three points. Moving them six points clear of Fulham while Burnley are 15th.

FOM BLOG: SHREWSBURY TOWN 1-1 GILLINGHAM
My Thoughts On Shrewsbury Town V Gillingham…………..
Gillingham traveled to The Montgomery Waters Meadow on Saturday The Third Of October, As Gillingham take on Shrewsbury Town In League One in a match that can only be described as a must win game for The Gills, I realise that this fixture between Shrewsbury Town V Gillingham is just the fourth League One Fixture Of The 2020 / 2021 Season, However, If Gillingham were to win against Shrewsbury Town, A win would mean three League One Wins in a row and Gillingham would pick up nine points out of a possible twelve, and also, I think Gillingham can do with a win against Shrewsbury Town, Because Gillingham have got a very tough fixture list for the rest of October, and those fixtures are as follows,,,,,, Ipswich Town Away, (Football League Trophy), Oxford United Home, MK Dons Away, Portsmouth Home, Fleetwood Town Home, Ipswich Town Away and Sunderland Home, The two away games against Ipswich Town and the home game against Portsmouth are being played on A Tuesday Night, and Fleetwood Town, Portsmouth and Oxford United all reached The League One Playoffs Last Season, And Ipswich Town and Sunderland you expect to see as contenders for promotion this season, and MK Dons is by no means a guaranteed win for The Gills Either, hence, why I believe it is important for Gillingham to win against Shrewsbury Town.
D3D4 Asked Supporters of League One and League Two Clubs what games they are watching today, And I replied with the following,,,,, Shrewsbury Town V Gillingham - Against Blackpool, Gillingham put in there most professional performance of the season, So it would be great to see Gillingham build on that win with a win against Shrewsbury Town Today, especially with the matches Gills have got coming up in October, And I also responded to Gabriel’s Tweet for score predictions with the following post,,,,, Optimistic, Gills go into today's match against Shrewsbury off the back of winning 2-0 against Blackpool last week, And Gillingham have strengthen the squad with the signings of Drysdale & O’Connor. Score Prediction: Shrewsbury 0-2 Gillingham - Samuel & Graham on the score-sheet.
Whilst watching Shrewsbury Town V Gillingham on I Follow is a alternative to not being inside the football stadium to watch the match live, Paying £10 to watching Shrewsbury Town V Gillingham is just a fraction of the costs you normally are paying for a away day, Match Ticket, Travel, Food, Drink, Match-Day Programme and other costs can easily take your total costs over £70, not to mention that the time it takes traveling to and from a away game, we would probably be looking at getting on the coach at 7.30AM In The Morning for the away trip to Shrewsbury Town, And I do think that this is going to be a potential problem for football clubs for when supporters are eventually allowed inside football stadiums to watch there team play, we will be so accustomed to watching the match on I Follow and the convenance of not traveling to and from the ground and the added expenditure means that some supporters may actually prefer to watch the team they support on I Follow - Especially when you take into consideration the time it takes traveling to and from a away ground.
One thing that surprises me with Shrewsbury Town’s Stadium, there is a train line that runs right next to The Montgomery Waters Meadow, Why on earth didn’t Shrewsbury Town build a train station right next to the football ground, even if the train station was only accessible on match-days ??? This would make a huge difference and would make things so much easier for supporters to travel to and from the ground, I mentioned the same-thing regarding Gillingham’s Stadium Move that A Train Station is absolutely essential to make the move to a new stadium a successful move, But Gillingham have been in the planning stages for a new stadium for decades now, Shrewsbury Town do have a newly built football stadium and I am surprised that a train station wasn’t considered when building The Montgomery Waters Meadow.
As for other matches elsewhere that are particularly interesting to look out for, Sheppey United V Welling United, Folkestone Invicta V Chatham Town, and Sittingbourne V Faversham Town are matches to look out for in Kent Non League Football, two of those matches are FA Cup Ties, whilst, Sittingbourne V Faversham Town is a local derby in The Ryman Division One South, As for matches to look out for in League One, at the moment, It’s far too early to be looking at The League One Table, But you want to be winning matches early on in the season so that you are moving in the right direction, I think The League One Table starts to take shape after ten league games, although that doesn’t mean teams at the top of the table after ten games gets promoted and teams bottom of the table after ten games gets relegated, but after ten games, enough matches have been played where you can start to look at the league table and see how well or how poorly your team is doing at this stage of the season.
Eventually, Gillingham’s News Appeared On Twitter, And Gillingham Lined Up As Follows,,,,,,, Jack Bonham, Ryan Jackson, Jack Tucker, Zech Medley, Connor Ogilvie, Josh Eccles, Tom O’Connor, Jacob Mellis, Dominic Samuel, Vadaine Oliver, Jordan Graham SUBS: Joe Walsh (GK), Robbie McKenzie, Christian Maghoma, Declan Drysdale, Alex MacDonald, Trae Coyle and John Akinde - As expected, Scott Robertson was not going to be risked against Shrewsbury Town after his substitution against Blackpool because of injury, the only team change that surprised me was Tom O’Connor starting ahead go Declan Drysdale, Because Declan Drysdale started for Gillingham in mid-week when Gillingham drew 1-1 against Peterborough United in a behind closed doors match, So I thought that Declan Drysdale would get the nod to start for Gillingham against Shrewsbury Town.
As for Shrewsbury Town’s Starting Line Up, Scott Golbourne, Shaun Whalley, Ollie Norburn, Leon Clarke and Ethan Ebanks-Landell all start for Shrewsbury Town and Jason Cummings is on the substitutes bench, Sam Ricketts has done a respectable job as Shrewsbury Town Manager and I think Shrewsbury Town are looking to sign a few more players to strengthen there squad when The Transfer Window for permanent signings closes on Monday, And looking at the weather conditions inside The Montgomery Waters Meadow, It is absolutely chucking it down with rain in Shrewsbury and when the weather conditions are as bad as this, you appreciate watching Shrewsbury Town V Gillingham on I Follow that little bit more - No getting drenched in the rain when your watching the match indoors.
With the wet and windy conditions at Shrewsbury, This looks like it is going to be one of those matches where Gillingham need to get the ball into the channels, knock the ball long down either flank and force Shrewsbury Town to concede throw on’s which can be hurled into Shrewsbury Town’s Penalty Area either from Ryan Jackson or Connor Ogilvie, If both teams have a philosophy of getting the ball down on the deck and pass and move football, that philosophy may well have to go out of the window for this match, and both teams may well play the percentages and not play any risky passes across there own back four.
I then posted - Ten Minutes Until Kick Off - COME ON THE GILLS!!!!!!!!!! - As I was making final preparations to watch Shrewsbury Town V Gillingham, Both teams were the out on to the pitch ready to kick off The Fourth League One Match Of The Season, Gillingham were wearing there Red Away Kit for this all important match against Shrewsbury Town, Tom O’Connor was given Squad Number 21 for Shrewsbury Town V Gillingham, and both teams were ready for kick off, hopefully, Gillingham can build on that impressive 2-0 win against Blackpool Last Saturday by winning against Shrewsbury Town and making it three league wins in a row - COME ON THE GILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FIRST HALF:
And the first noteworthy moment of the match see’s Zech Medley kick the ball long down-field and Marlon Fossey headers the ball out of play for A Gillingham Throw On Down The Left Side Of The Pitch In Shrewsbury Town’s Final Third, And From The Resulting Throw On, Connor Ogilvie hurls in a long dangerous throw and Marlon Fossey headers the ball partially clear down the left side of the pitch, And Josh Vela pushes Connor Ogilvie down to the deck, and Gillingham have been awarded a free kick in a very promising position on the pitch, and from the resulting free kick, Jordan Graham whips in a dangerous in-swinging cross and Ethan Ebanks-Landell manages to header the ball clear and away from danger, and Shaun Whalley gets on to the loose ball down Shrewsbury Town’s Right Side Of The Pitch - Gillingham’s Left - And Shaun Whalley takes a few touches in possession of the ball before kicking the ball long down the line and Jack Bonham comes out of his penalty area to kick the ball long down-field and Vadaine Oliver flicks the ball on, and Ethan Ebanks-Landell gets the ball under control before trying to pick out Shaun Whalley with a threaded pass down the line, But Connor Ogilvie manages to slide in and time his challenge to perfection at the expense of conceding a throw on.
LINE UP’S - Gillingham are lining up with A 4-3-3 Formation, With Jack Bonham in goal, Ryan Jackson, Jack Tucker, Zech Medley and Connor Ogilvie as Gillingham’s Back Four, Josh Eccles and Tom O’Connor are playing in central midfield with Jacob Mellis playing a bit further forwards in a attacking midfield role, And Dominic Samuel is on the right, Vadaine Oliver is playing through the middle and Jordan Graham on the left in Gillingham’s Front Three, In-Terms Of Shrewsbury Town and how they line up, Shrewsbury Town are lining up with A 4-1-4-1 Formation, With Harry Burgoyne In Goal, Marlon Fossey, Ethan Ebanks-Landell, Aaron Pierre and Scott Golbourne as Shrewsbury Town’s Back Four, Brad Walker in defensive midfield, Ryan Barnett on the left, Josh Vela and Ollie Norburn in central midfield, Shaun Whalley on the right, and Experienced Striker Leon Clarke leading the line for Shrewsbury Town, I suppose if Shaun Whalley and Ryan Barnett push forwards, then Shrewsbury Town are playing A 4-3-3 Formation, But I think it is more likely A 4-1-4-1 Formation from the home side.
Two Minutes Into The Match, and Gillingham were pushing to make the breakthrough, Vadaine Oliver has possession of the ball down the left side of the pitch in Shrewsbury Town’s Final Third, And Vadaine Oliver manages to retain possession of the ball before passing the ball back to Jordan Graham, who takes a touch to control the ball right on the far side of the pitch, And Jordan Graham runs into a more central position on the pitch, And I personally thought that Jordan Graham had been fouled by Ethan Banks-Landell, But no free kick was awarded in Gillingham’s Favour, And In The Third Minute Of The Match, Vadaine Oliver was penalised for a foul on Brad Walker from Jack Bonham’s Long Kick Down-Field, And Shrewsbury Town have been awarded a free kick in there own half.
And from the resulting free kick, Shrewsbury Town create there first clear cut goal-scoring opportunity of the game, Harry Burgoyne kicks the ball long down-field and Jack Tucker wins the initial aerial challenge and Ollie Norburn wins the second aerial challenge up against Josh Eccles, and Leon Clarke manages to header the ball down towards Josh Vela, who manages to pass the ball out-wide to Marlon Fossey, And Marlon Fossey whips in a low cross towards the near post, and Shaun Whalley manages to tee himself up to hit a acrobatic volley towards goal and Jack Bonham makes a comfortable save in goal for The Gills - Shaun Whalley doesn’t quite manage to generate the power required to severely test Jack Bonham in-between the sticks, But it is still a save that Jack Bonham has to make in very difficult wet and windy conditions.
Five Minutes Into The Match, And Connor Ogilvie’s header down-field towards one of Dominic Samuel and Jacob Mellis see’s Ethan Ebanks-Landell header the ball back to Harry Burgoyne In The Shrewsbury Town Goal, and from here, Harry Burgoyne kicks the ball long down-field and Leon Clarke wins the aerial challenge up against Zech Medley to flick the ball on and Jack Tucker kicks the ball partially clear, and Leon Clarke’s attempted pass is cut out by Josh Eccles, but the ball ricochets towards Ollie Norburn, who gets the ball under control and Ollie Norburn passes the ball square to Scott Golbourne, And Scott Golbourne takes a touch to control the ball, and Scott Golbourne passes the ball inside short to Ollie Norburn, And Ollie Norburn’s first time pass down the line towards Ryan Barnett is intercepted by Ryan Jackson, And Ryan Jackson passes the ball forwards to Dominic Samuel, Who is fouled by Scott Golbourne, And Gillingham have been awarded a free kick, just inside there own half of the pitch, and from the resulting free kick, Zech Medley kicks the ball long down-field and Marlon Fossey wins the initial aerial challenge, and Jordan Graham headers the ball back towards Tom O’Connor, And Tom O’Connor kicks a high and hanging ball down the line for Jordan Graham to chase, And Marlon Fossey manages to shield the ball out of play for A Shrewsbury Town Goal-Kick.
Seven Minutes Into The Match, And Dominic Samuel has been fouled on the halfway line by Ollie Norburn and Gillingham have been awarded a free kick, Dominic Samuel had already evaded one challenge before being fouled, And I do think that Ollie Norburn is perhaps fortunate to only be given a warning for that challenge on Dominic Samuel, And From The Resulting Free Kick, Gillingham created a half decent opportunity to open the scoring, Jack Tucker kicks a high and hanging cross-field cross and Aaron Pierre manages to header the ball partially clear down the left side of the pitch, and Jordan Graham does really well to keep the ball in play in Shrewsbury Town’s Final Third, And Jordan Graham still manages to retain possession of the ball and Jordan Graham plays a short pass inside to Tom O’Connor, And Tom O’Connor plays a first time pass down the line towards Connor Ogilvie, As Connor Ogilvie had made a third man run in and behind Shrewsbury Town’s Defence, And Connor Ogilvie fires in a first time low cross across Shrewsbury Town’s Penalty Area and Aaron Pierre’s half clearance drops to Jacob Mellis inside Shrewsbury Town’s Penalty Area, And Jacob Mellis see’s his first time effort towards goal cleared by Scott Golbourne and that was a half chance for Gillingham to open the scoring.
Eight Minutes Into The Match, And Gillingham create there best goal-scoring opportunity of the match so far, A Heavy touch from Aaron Pierre allows Jacob Mellis to close down The Shrewsbury Town Centre Back, and although Aaron Pierre times his challenge to perfection, the loose ball falls kindly to Dominic Samuel, who plays a first time pass through to Vadaine Oliver, And Vadaine Oliver is now running through on goal down Gillingham’s Right Side Of The Pitch, And Vadaine Oliver continue’s his run forwards towards the edge of Shrewsbury Town’s Penalty Area, and Vadaine Oliver fires a fiercely driven effort towards goal which flashes wide of the far right post and Harry Burgoyne wasn’t required to make a save in The Shrewsbury Town Goal - BUT THAT WAS THE CHANCE FOR GILLINGHAM TO OPEN THE SCORING!!!!! - Had Vadaine Oliver fired his effort across the face of goal into the opposite corner of the net, there was more of a chance of Vadaine Oliver opening the scoring for Gillingham.
Ten Minutes Into The Match, And Gillingham have been awarded a throw on down the left side of the pitch in Shrewsbury Town’s Final Third, And From The Resulting Throw On, Connor Ogilvie has hurled in a long dangerous throw and Vadaine Oliver wins the aerial battle up against Marlon Fossey to try and flick the ball back towards Jordan Graham, but the ball drops to Jacob Mellis inside Shrewsbury Town’s Penalty Area, And Jacob Mellis tries to pass the ball forwards to Dominic Samuel, But Scott Golbourne manages to crucially kick the ball long down-field, And Leon Clarke does exceptionally well to retain possession of the ball on the halfway line, And Leon Clarke was being double marked by Jack Tucker and Josh Eccles as well, And Leon Clarke manages to thread a fantastic pass down the left side of the pitch - Gillingham’s Right - towards Ryan Barnett, who goes on a driving run forwards in possession of the ball, and Ryan Barnett cuts inside and runs past Ryan Jackson’s challenge before whipping in a dangerous in-swinging cross and Tom O’Connor makes a vital headed clearance and Ryan Jackson partially clears the ball away from danger.
And Brad Walker wins the aerial challenge up against Jacob Mellis and Tom O’Connor headers the ball out-wide to Jordan Graham, And Jordan Graham gets the ball under control before passing the ball back to Connor Ogilvie, And Connor Ogilvie kicks the ball down-field and is completely taken out by Josh Vela, and no free kick has been awarded in Gillingham’s Favour, And Marlon Fossey has possession of the ball down Shrewsbury Town’s Right Side Of The Pitch, And Marlon Fossey runs forwards in possession of the ball before passing the ball down the line towards Shaun Whalley, And Shaun Whalley gets the ball under control, and Shaun Whalley see’s his in-swinging cross blocked and deflected out of play off Connor Ogilvie and Shrewsbury Town have been awarded a corner kick - How on earth was that not a foul by Josh Vela on Connor Ogilvie ??? - And to make matters even worse, Shrewsbury Town take the lead from the resulting corner kick, Shaun Whalley whips in the resulting corner kick and Brad Walker has accurately headed the ball into the bottom right corner of the net to give Shrewsbury Town A 1-0 Lead in very controversial circumstances, But I have got to say that this is a very weak goal to concede, Gillingham had seven players and Jack Bonham inside our penalty area and it wasn’t like Brad Walker’s header was a powerful bullet header into the top corner of the net, the header was more accurate rather then powerful, and I have got to say that Gillingham’s Defending From Corner Kick’s is very concerning, Wigan Athletic scored a soft goal for 2-3 to get themselves back into the game, But Gills held out for a win, Stoke City scored, but there goal for 2-0 was ruled out for a foul, and now Brad Walker has scored a very weak header to give Shrewsbury Town the lead - SHREWSBURY TOWN 1-0 GILLINGHAM.
Yes, Connor Ogilvie was fouled, and yes, Shrewsbury Town have gained a huge advantage, because they won themselves the corner kick which eventually lead to Brad Walker opening the scoring, But if Gillingham defend the corner kick properly, then Shrewsbury Town do not score, and pre-match, I had predicted A 2-0 Win For Gillingham, simply because I just do not know where the goals were going to come from Shrewsbury Town, Because the hosts had scored two goals in three league games and I thought that Gillingham would build on the defensive display we saw against Blackpool and be solid defensively against Shrewsbury Town, But it doesn’t matter how good your defence is, Because if that is how Gillingham are going to defend from corner kick’s, then we are going to concede goals, The only consolation for Gillingham is the fact that the goal was conceded after twelve minutes and there is still plenty of time left for Gillingham to get back on to level terms at the very least.
Thirteen Minutes Into The Match, And Gillingham manage to win themselves a corner kick, Shrewsbury Town have a throw on in there own half down the right side of the pitch, And Marlon Fossey throws the ball down the line and Connor Ogilvie wins the initial aerial challenge and Jordan Graham runs down the line in possession of the ball before managing to pass the ball inside to Jacob Mellis, And Jacob Mellis passes the ball back towards Tom O’Connor, And Tom O’Connor kicks the ball long down-field, But it appears that Ollie Norburn had in-fact made the final touch as he slide in on Tom O’Connor and Referee James Adcock immediately pointed for A Gillingham Corner Kick, So, Can Gillingham respond with a equaliser straight away ??? (Which is precisely what Gillingham were able to do in our 3-2 away win against Wigan Athletic) And from the resulting corner kick, Jordan Graham whips in a dangerous in-swinging cross and Leon Clarke headers the ball towards the edge of Shrewsbury Town’s Penalty Area, and Jacob Mellis’s first pass is blocked and Jacob Mellis see’s his second pass blocked by Brad Walker and Shaun Whalley boots the ball clear and away from danger, and Jack Bonham comes out of his penalty area to kick the ball long down-field first time and Ethan Ebanks-Landell wins the aerial challenge up against Vadaine Oliver to header the ball down the left side of the pitch, and Jordan Graham manages to keep the ball in play and Jordan Graham is challenged by Shaun Whalley and the ball goes out of play for A Gillingham Throw On.
But despite the fact that it is Gillingham’s Throw On In The Fourteenth Minute Of The Match, Shrewsbury Town had the chance to double there lead to 2-0, Connor Ogilvie hurls in a long dangerous throw and Vadaine Oliver does win the initial aerial challenge and flick the ball on inside Shrewsbury Town’s Penalty Area and Ryan Barnett just smashes the ball long down-field and Jack Tucker gets the ball under control before passing the ball back to Jack Bonham, And Jack Bonham kicks the ball long down-field and Vadaine Oliver does manage to win the initial aerial challenge, and Ryan Barnett manages to get on to the loose ball on the halfway line for Shrewsbury Town, And Ryan Barnett continue’s his run forwards in possession of the ball, And Ryan Barnett passes the ball out-wide to Shaun Whalley, who takes a touch to control the ball before whipping in a dangerous in-swinging cross, and Leon Clarke’s Looping Header wasn’t on target and Jack Bonham gathers the loose ball very comfortably.
A Succession of throw on’s for both teams just start to slow the pace of the game down, a scenario which perhaps helps Shrewsbury Town out more then Gillingham at this moment in time,  But In The Eighteenth Minute Of The Match, Shrewsbury Town were looking to double there advantage to 2-0, Ryan Barnett manages to intercept Jacob Mellis’s cross-field pass, and Ryan Barnett manages to retain possession of the ball before dropping the ball back to Brad Walker, And Brad Walker manages to pick out Ollie Norburn with a cross-field cross pass, And Ollie Norburn cuts inside into a more central position before threading a pass through to Josh Vela, who had a made a run to a left / central position on the pitch on the edge of Gillingham’s Penalty Area, And Josh Vela passes the ball out-wide to Scott Golbourne, And Scott Golbourne plays a first time pas down the line towards Ollie Norburn, who manages to keep the ball in play right on the byline, And Ollie Norburn see’s his initial pass cut out by Josh Eccles, but the ball ricochets back towards Ollie Norburn, who passes the ball back to Josh Vela, And Josh Vela shows a neat piece of skill to work himself out-wide before whipping in a dangerous cross and Jack Tucker headers the ball partially clear and away from goal and Connor Ogilvie clears the ball further away from goal.
Nineteen Minutes Into The Match, And Shaun Whalley is penalised for his challenge on Tom O’Connor and Gillingham have been awarded a free kick, and from the resulting free kick, Zech Medley kicks the ball long down-field and Aaron Pierre wins the initial aerial challenge and Ollie Norburn headers the ball back towards Marlon Fossey, who looks to kick the ball long down-field, But Marlon Fossey’s attempted clearance is cut out by Josh Eccles, who is running forwards in possession of the ball and evading attempted challenges from two Shrewsbury Town Players, And  Josh Eccles pass through to Vadaine Oliver is cut out by Aaron Pierre, But the loose ball runs kindly to Jacob Mellis, who plays a first time pass square centrally to Dominic Samuel, who takes a touch to control the ball before passing the ball out-wide to Jordan Graham on the left wing, And Jordan Graham takes a touch to control the ball before running down the left flank in possession of the ball, And Jordan Graham checks back on himself before whipping in a dangerous in-swinging cross towards the back-stick, and Aaron Pierre does brilliantly to header the ball out of play for A Gillingham Corner Kick - COME ON THE GILLS!!!!! Was My Response.
And from the resulting corner kick, Jordan Graham whips in a dangerous in-swinging cross and somehow no-one from either team could get on the end of that cross, Zech Medley, Vadaine Oliver and Jack Tucker all missed the ball and that was a half decent chance for Gillingham to level the game up at 1-1, And having failed to take that opportunity at one end of the pitch, Shrewsbury Town really should have doubled there lead after Twenty One Minutes, Josh Vela has possession of the ball for Shrewsbury Town in Shrewsbury Town’s Half Of The Pitch, And Josh Vela manages to thread the ball through to Shaun Whalley down the right side of the pitch - Gillingham’s Left - And Shaun Whalley continue’s his run forwards in possession of the ball before whipping in a dangerous in-swinging cross and Leon Clarke’s Glancing Header flashes just wide of the far left post with Jack Bonham well and truly beaten - AND THAT WAS THE CHANCE FOR SHREWSBURY TOWN TO SCORE AGAIN!!!!!! - I think Jack Tucker had just about done enough to put Leon Clarke off, and had Leon Clarke scored a second goal for Shrewsbury Town, then it would have been very difficult to see Gillingham pulling themselves back into this match from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 at the very least.
Twenty Two Minutes Into The Match, And Jordan Graham is penalised for a foul just inside Shrewsbury Town’s Half by pulling Marlon Fossey down to the deck and Shrewsbury Town have been awarded a free kick, and from the resulting free kick, Shrewsbury Town created another goal-scoring opportunity, Scott Golbourne kicks the ball long down the right side of the pitch and Ethan Ebanks-Landell wins the aerial battle to header a looping header inside Gillingham’s Penalty Area and Jack Bonham was able to gather the ball from Ethan Ebanks-Landell’s Lopping Header with ease and the chance had gone for the hosts, Twenty Four Minutes Into The Match, And Shrewsbury Town created a half chance to try and double the scoring, Tom O’Connor is penalised for his challenge on Shaun Whalley on the halfway line and Shrewsbury Town have been awarded a free kick, and from the resulting free kick, Ollie Norburn is quick to kick the ball long down-field to try and pick out Ryan Barnett and Jack Bonham was quick off his line to gather the ball close to his eighteen yard line, And Gillingham were perhaps not fully concentrating for that quickly taken free kick.
Connor Ogilvie was then penalised for his challenge on Shaun Whalley down the left side of the pitch right in-front of the dugouts, and again, Shrewsbury Town have been awarded a free kick, and from the resulting free kick, Shaun Whalley whips in a dangerous in-swinging cross and Brad Walker wins the initial aerial challenge and Zech Medley and Jordan Graham between the two of them manage to clear that free kick and Gillingham survive the latest attacking onslaught on to our goal, Because at this moment in time, Gillingham just cannot get out of our own half and we are conceding free kicks which are giving Shrewsbury Town opportunities to double there advantage to 2-0.
Free Kicks and Throw On’s are just starting to break up play for a few minutes, But In The Twenty Eighth Minute Of The Match, Shrewsbury Town created a golden goal-scoring opportunity to try and double the score-line to 2-0, Shrewsbury Town have a throw on down the right side of the pitch - Gillingham’s Left - And Marlon Fossey throws the ball short to Ollie Norburn, And Ollie Norburn takes a few touches in possession of the ball before picking out Scott Golbourne with a cross-field cross pass, And Scott Golbourne manages to get the ball under control before passing the ball down the line towards Ryan Barnett, And Ryan Barnett is twisting and turning and Ryan Jackson times his challenge to perfection at the expense of conceding a throw on, and it is from this throw where Shrewsbury Town should have scored, Scott Golbourne throws the ball short to Leon Clarke, And Leon Clarke passes the ball out-wide to Scott Golbourne, And Scott Golbourne takes a touch to control the ball before playing a one / two with Leon Clarke and passing the ball backwards to Brad Walker, who passes the ball square to Josh Vela, And Josh Vela passes the ball back to Aaron Pierre, who kicks the ball long down-field first time and Ryan Jackson wins the initial aerial challenge, and Ryan Jackson’s defensive header inadvertently tee’s up Josh Vela, who chests the ball under control before unleashing a fiercely driven low effort towards goal and Jack Bonham makes a fantastic save and Zech Medley manages to kick the ball clear at the expense of conceding a throw on.
That save from Jack Bonham may well have looked easy, But Josh Vela has smashed that ball goal-wards on a very wet playing surface and the ball can quite easily zip up off the turf and hit the back of the net and Jack Bonham has kept Gillingham in this match with a vital save, and Zech Medley takes no chances and kicks the ball out of play for A Shrewsbury Town Throw On, and from the resulting throw on, Scott Golbourne throws the ball short to Ollie Norburn, who passes the ball back out-wide to Scott Golbourne, And Scott Golbourne passes the ball forwards to Leon Clarke, who losses possession of the ball and Ryan Jackson’s clearance goes to Brad Walker on the halfway line, and Brad Walker passes the ball square to Ethan Ebanks-Landell, And The Shrewsbury Town Centre Back runs forwards in possession of the ball and kicks a diagonal cross-field cross pass and there was a coming together between Ryan Jackson and Ryan Barnett inside Gillingham’s Penalty Area, and was that a penalty kick for Shrewsbury Town ??? - I don’t think there was anything in that and it was a coming together between both players, however, the ball stays in play and Ryan Jackson kicks the ball long down-field and Brad Walker and Aaron Pierre get in each other’s way and Josh Vela headers the ball forwards and Josh Eccles kicks the ball into Shrewsbury Town’s Half, and Ethan Ebanks-Landell kicks the ball clear long down-field and Jack Tucker chests the ball under control, And Jack Tucker almost manages to pick out Vadaine Oliver with a long ball over the top, But Aaron Pierre headers the ball square and Ethan Ebanks-Landell boots the ball clear - both centre back’s for Shrewsbury Town are physically imposing and neither centre back is going to be considered a ball carrying centre back, Aaron Pierre and Ethan Ebanks-Landell will fit the description of A Defenders Defender - If in doubt, boot it out.
Thirty Minutes Into The Match, And Tom O’Connor times his challenge to perfection on Marlon Fossey to knock the ball out of play for A Shrewsbury Town Throw On, And In The Thirty First Minute Of The Match, Aaron Pierre kicks the ball long down-field and Zech Medley allows the ball to run all the way through to Jack Bonham, who makes a comfortable save, Thirty Two Minutes Into The Match, and there is just a moment here for Gillingham just to get themselves on to the front-foot, Dominic Samuel does brilliantly to retain possession of the ball down the right side of the pitch, And Dominic Samuel manages to pass the ball back to Josh Eccles, who takes a touch to control the ball, And Josh Eccles cross-field cross pass towards Connor Ogilvie is over-hit and the ball runs out of play for A Shrewsbury Town Throw On - And this has been a problem for Gillingham so far, over-hit cross-field passes - we haven’t really seen Dominic Samuel, Jordan Graham or Vadaine Oliver get themselves on the ball often enough and Shrewsbury Town are more then happy to kick the ball long and play a no risk approach, and why shouldn’t they, the hosts are winning the match 1-0 after all.
Thirty Three Minutes Into The Match, And Brad Walker is penalised for his foul on Jacob Mellis, And Gillingham have been awarded a free kick, and at last, Gillingham can start to put some pressure on to The Shrewsbury Town Goal, And From The Resulting Free Kick, Tom O’Connor whips in a dangerous in-swinging cross towards the back-stick towards Connor Ogilvie and Marlon Fossey headers the ball partially clear and away from goal, and Shaun Whalley headers the ball clear and Jordan Graham manages to keep the ball in play by passing the ball back to Josh Eccles, And Josh Eccles takes a touch to control the ball before clipping a long ball down towards the edge of Shrewsbury Town’s Penalty Area and Vadaine Oliver flicks the ball on towards Dominic Samuel, And Scott Golbourne just about manages to intercept and clear the ball away from danger - That chance was something for Gillingham to build on - and hopefully, Gillingham can level the game up at 1-1 before half time.
But Gillingham have some defending to do in The Thirty Sixth Minute Of The Match, Dominic Samuel is penalised for a foul, And Shrewsbury Town have been awarded a free kick, and from the resulting free kick, Shaun Whalley has whipped in a dangerous in-swinging cross towards Ethan Ebanks-Landell, But Shaun Whalley’s cross is slightly over-hit and the ball runs harmlessly through to Jack Bonham, But In The Thirty Seventh Minute Of The Match, Shaun Whalley is currently down injured for Shrewsbury Town and requires treatment and this treatment is required just as Ethan Ebanks-Landell has got back up to his feat for the home side, But whilst Ethan Ebanks-Landell is OK to resume playing for Shrewsbury Town, Shaun Whalley however has to be substituted, and after a break in play for two minutes, Josh Daniels comes on to replace Shaun Whalley and whilst that substitution was on-going, Steve Evans was booked for something which was said in the technical area, There will be a few minutes added for additional time at the end of the first half, so there is time left for Gillingham to score a equaliser before the half time interval.
And when play resumed, Harry Burgoyne kicks the ball long down-field and Zech Medley manages to header the ball clear and Jordan Graham headers the ball on towards Vadaine Oliver, who manages to retain possession of the ball, and Vadaine Oliver passes the ball back to Josh Eccles, And Josh Eccles kicks the ball long down-field and Brad Walker headers the ball clear and the challenge from Ethan Ebanks-Landell on Vadaine Oliver was combative to say the least, - Possibly a foul in Gillingham’s Favour - And Ollie Norburn has cleared the ball out of play for A Gillingham Throw On.
Forty One Minutes Into The Match, And Zech Medley’s Long Ball Down-field is over-hit and the ball runs out of play for A Shrewsbury Town Throw On, That’s a disappointing pass from Zech Medley, But is also has to be noted that Gillingham’s Performance Against Shrewsbury Town has been very very poor, And Gillingham then have a throw on down the left side of the pitch, And Connor Ogilvie hurls a long throw down the line and Vadaine Oliver flicks the ball on towards Jordan Graham, And Ethan Ebanks-Landell was always going to have the strength up against Jordan Graham to shield the ball out of play for A Shrewsbury Town Goal-Kick.
Forty Three Minutes Into The Match, And Marlon Fossey whips in a dangerous in-swinging cross and Zech Medley is in the right place at the right time to header the ball clear and away from danger and Brad Walker wins the fifty / fifty battle with Josh Mellis and Tom O’Connor clears the ball down-field towards Vadaine Oliver, Who retains possession of the ball and passes the ball back to Tom O’Connor, And Tom O’Connor’s pass ricochets off Jacob Mellis and Vadaine Oliver has possession of the ball and Vadaine Oliver passes the ball forwards to Jordan Graham, who is looking around for options before opting to back-heal the ball to Connor Ogilvie, And Connor Ogilvie goes on a driving run forwards down the left flank, And Connor Ogilvie continue’s his run into a more central position on the pitch, And Connor Ogilvie passes the ball square to Josh Eccles, And Josh Eccles takes a touch to control the ball before passing the ball square to Ryan Jackson down Gillingham’s Right Side Of The Pitch, And Ryan Jackson runs inside and evades the challenge from Ryan Barnett, and Ryan Jackson threads a through-ball through to Dominic Samuel down the right side of Shrewsbury Town’s Penalty Area and Dominic Samuel for some reason just appeared to let the ball ran out of play for a goal-kick when Dominic Samuel could have done something with that pass from Ryan Jackson, and that attack just sums up Gillingham in the final third at this moment in time.
Forty Five Minutes Into The Match, And Zech Medley blocks Leon Clarke’s attempted pass down the line at the expense of conceding a throw on, and from the resulting throw on, Marlon Fossey throws the ball back to Brad Walker, And Brad Walker passes the ball down the line towards Marlon Fossey, And Marlon Fossey is completely taken out by Jordan Graham, And Shrewsbury Town have been awarded a free kick, and from the resulting free kick, Josh Vela whips in a dangerous in-swinging cross towards the edge of Gillingham’s Penalty Area and Vadaine Oliver slices the ball up into the air and Ollie Norburn wins the challenge up against Dominic Samuel to kick the ball up into the air, and Aaron Pierre wins the next aerial challenge to flick the ball on and Jack Tucker does really well to win the aerial challenge up against Ethan Ebanks-Landell and Connor Ogilvie’s defensive header goes straight to Ollie Norburn, who headers the ball out-wide and Josh Vela gets to the loose ball first and plays a short pass inside to Leon Clarke, And Leon Clarke passes the ball out-wide to Josh Vela, who see’s his first time cross blocked by Connor Ogilvie, at the expense of conceding a throw on in Gillingham’s Defensive Final Third.
And From The Resulting Throw On, Marlon Fossey throws the ball short to Josh Vela, who passes the ball out-wide to Marlon Fossey, And Marlon Fossey passes the ball back to Brad Walker, who fires the ball forwards first time and Ryan Barnett cannot get the ball under control and the ball ricochets back towards Josh Mellis, who’s pass out-wide is intercepted by Marlon Fossey, who runs forwards in possession of the ball and plays the ball through to Josh Vela on the over-lap, And Josh Vella tackles Jordan Graham down to the deck, but the final touch came off Jordan Graham and Shrewsbury Town have been awarded a corner kick right at the very end of the first half, and from the resulting corner kick, Josh Vela passes the ball short to Scott Golbourne, And Scott Golbourne takes a touch to control the ball before passing the ball short to Ollie Norburn on the edge of Gillingham’s Penalty Area, And Ollie Norburn clips the ball towards the back-stick, and we can be very relieved that Ollie Norburn’s chip to the back-stick is over-hit and the ball runs out of play for A Gillingham Goal-Kick.
And that was the final noteworthy moment of the first half, and after three additional minutes of added time, Referee James Adcock blows his whistle for half time, and the half time score at The Montgomery Waters Meadow is Shrewsbury Town 1-0 Gillingham, With Gillingham having  a lot of work to do in the second half to try and get ourselves back into this match on level terms at the very least.
HALF TIME: SHREWSBURY TOWN 1-0 GILLINGHAM
I wrote the following status update on Twitter at half time,,,, HT: SHREWSBURY 1-0 GILLINGHAM - Walker's goal is the difference between both teams at half time, there is no doubt in my mind that Ogilvie was fouled in the build up to the corner that eventually lead to Shrewsbury opening the scoring, But Gills defending from the corner was poor - Oliver had a one on one chance to open the scoring for Gillingham which really should have hit the target, Bonham has saved a fiercely driven effort on goal from Josh Vela from twenty yards, Samuel managed to get in and behind Shrewsbury’s defence from Jackson's Pass, but could not keep the ball in play.
And the big talking point for me has to be the foul by Josh Vela on Connor Ogilvie, And it was a foul, there is no debate about that all, and the failure to award Gillingham a free kick eventually lead to Shrewsbury Town winning the corner kick which meant that Brad Walker opened the scoring, the defending from the corner kick was dreadful and there can be no excusing that at all, however, Josh Vela has fouled Connor Ogilvie and this is going to be a serious talking point, if the roles were reversed, Shrewsbury Town Supporters would surely be saying the same-thing.
The weather conditions have seen Shrewsbury Town V Gillingham turn into a battle of playing the percentages, both teams opting to knock the ball long in the hopes of either opposition defences make a mistake which can create a goal-scoring opportunity, This has not been a game for free flowing football, Because fouls, free kicks, corner kick’s, throw on’s and how this match is being played has not seen either side create many clear cut goal-scoring opportunities, But Shrewsbury Town have created better goal-scoring opportunities, Leon Clarke has headed wide, Josh Vela’s fiercely driven effort towards goal was saved by Jack Bonham, and of course, Brad Walker has opened the scoring for the hosts, where as Gillingham’s best goal-scoring opportunity was Vadaine Oliver’s one on one chance early on in the match.
With this match being more of a aerial bombardment and less about free flowing football, this could well be a match for John Akinde to come on and make a impact, I don’t think we have seen the best from John Akinde this season and the type of performances we were expecting to see from John Akinde, we have seen from Vadaine Oliver this season, But I do wonder if we will see John Akinde come on at some point in the second half ??? - Both teams were back on to the pitch for the start of the second half, and there is activity on the substitutes bench, And Declan Drysdale comes on to make his Gillingham Debut in place of Jacob Mellis, And Declan Drysdale comes on to provide Gillingham with some much needed physicality in the centre of midfield.
SECOND HALF:
Not only has Declan Drysdale come on to provide Gillingham with physicality in midfield, But there is also a change in formation as Gillingham switch to A 4-4-2 Formation, With Josh Eccles and Declan Drysdale in central midfield, Jordan Graham on the right, Tom O’Connor on the left, and Dominic Samuel and Vadaine Oliver playing as Gillingham’s Front Two, Maybe getting Dominic Samuel and Vadaine Oliver closer together will see Gillingham create more goal-scoring opportunities in the second half ???
The first noteworthy moment of The Second Half see’s Connor Ogilvie kick a long ball down-down-field towards Vadaine Oliver and Ethan Ebanks-Landell shields the loose ball back to Goalkeeper Harry Burgoyne, and this early passage in play in the second half will give you a clear indication on how Gillingham are going to play, It is very much going to be the case of getting the ball forwards to Dominic Samuel and Vadaine Oliver as quickly as possible.
Forty Seven Minutes Into The Match, And Shrewsbury Town were looking to double there advantage to 2-0, Gillingham have a throw on down the right side of the pitch in there own final third, And Ryan Jackson hurls the ball long down the line and Vadaine Oliver and Jordan Graham cannot win the ball in the air or retain possession of the ball and Aaron Pierre headers the ball forwards for Shrewsbury Town and Ryan Barnett manages to retain possession of the ball down the left side of the pitch and Ryan Barnett uses his pace to take on Ryan Jackson, before cutting back out-wide, And Ryan Barnett manages to dig out a cross towards the far post and Josh Daniels cannot direct his shot goal-wards and the ball goes out of play for A Gillingham Goal-Kick - I think Connor Ogilvie had done enough to prevent Josh Daniels from getting a more telling connection on the ball and Gillingham have got to keep the score-line at 1-0 to stand any chance of getting anything out of this match.
Forty Eight Minutes Into The Match, And Gillingham have been awarded a free kick as Ollie Norburn slides in to intercept the ball, but his follow through catches Josh Eccles, who has been tripped and Gillingham have been awarded a free kick, And from the resulting free kick, Jordan Graham whips in a dangerous in-swinging cross and Harry Burgoyne comes off his goal-line to make a very comfortable save, Gillingham have got to make the most of any set play opportunity we get throughout the rest of the second half, Because Gillingham have not really tested Harry Burgoyne In The Shrewsbury Town Goal and we need to see more from Gillingham in the opposition’s final third.
Forty Nine Minutes Into The Football Match, And Josh Eccles is penalised for his mis-timed challenge on Ollie Norburn, And Shrewsbury Town have been awarded a free kick, and from the resulting free kick, Brad Walker passes the ball forwards to Leon Clarke, And Leon Clarke passes the ball backwards towards Aaron Pierre, And Aaron Pierre takes a touch to control the ball before kicking the ball long down the left side of the pitch, and Connor Ogilvie wins the initial aerial challenge and Josh Eccles wins the second aerial challenge to header the ball forwards and Aaron Pierre is on to the loose ball on the halfway line, and Aaron Pierre kicks the ball long down-field and Connor Ogilvie wins the next aerial challenge and Brad Walker headers the ball out-wide towards Josh Vela, And Connor Ogilvie tries to slide in and intercept the ball, But Josh Vela gets the ball under control and plays the ball down the line towards Josh Daniels, And Josh Daniels see’s his low cross blocked by Zech Medley at the expense of conceding a corner kick.
And from the resulting corner kick, Scott Golbourne whips in a dangerous curling in-swinging cross towards the near post and Josh Eccles headers the ball clear and out of play for another Shrewsbury Town Corner Kick, And From the Second Corner Kick, Shrewsbury Town should have scored, Scott Golbourne whips in a dangerous in-swinging cross towards the far post, and Jack Bonham has completely missed the ball and Aaron Pierre’s header towards goal is cleared off the line by Josh Eccles and the ball loops up into the air and Jack Bonham can only parry the ball down inside Gillingham’s own penalty area, and Josh Daniels follow up effort is blocked and the ball deflects off Jack Tucker and the ball diverts out of play for another Shrewsbury Town Corner Kick - BUT GILLINGHAM JUST CANNOT DEFEND CORNER KICK’S, AND THAT WAS THE CHANCE FOR SHREWSBURY TOWN TO GO 2-0 UP!!!!!! - I think Tom O’Connor was impeding Jack Bonham from the cross, but Gillingham’s defending from corner kick’s is looking very poor and Shrewsbury Town will probably look to exploit that weakness, But well done to Josh Eccles for that goal-line clearance, Because that goal-line clearance keeps Gillingham in this match at 1-0 down, And from the third corner kick, Scott Golbourne whips in a dangerous in-swinging cross and Vadaine Oliver headers the ball clear towards Dominic Samuel, who is taken out by Josh Vela, And Gillingham have been awarded a defensive free kick, And Gillingham can re-group after that golden goal-scoring opportunity from the hosts.
However, the next passage of play see’s Shrewsbury Town on the front-foot again, Ryan Barnett kicks the ball long down the left side of the pitch - Gillingham’s Right - And Leon Clarke manages to get on to the ball down the left / central area on the pitch, And Leon Clarke almost manages to pick out Josh Daniels with a low cross across the face of goal and Connor Ogilvie slides in and manages to clear the ball out of play for another Shrewsbury Town Corner Kick, And From The Resulting Corner, Scott Golbourne whips in a dangerous in-swinging cross towards the far post and Zech Medley partially clears the ball away from danger, But Josh Daniels is on to the loose ball, and Josh Daniels is twisting and turning and works the ball back to Ryan Barnett, who works himself wide towards the byline and passes the ball back short to Josh Daniels, And Josh Daniels see’s his cross charged down by Tom O’Connor, and Brad Walker has drastically over-hit his cross towards the far post and the ball runs out of play for A Gillingham Goal-Kick.
Fifty Three Minutes Into The Match, And Harry Burgoyne has sliced the ball out of play for A Gillingham Throw On In Shrewsbury Town’s Final Third, And From The Resulting Throw On, Ryan Jackson throws in a short throw and Brad Walker gets the ball partially clear and away from danger and Ryan Barnett manages to kick the ball long down-field and Zech Medley gets the ball under control and Zech Medley passes the ball square to Connor Ogilvie on the halfway line, and Connor Ogilvie takes a touch to control the ball before kicking the ball long down-field and Scott Golbourne manages to header the ball partially clear and away from danger and Dominic Samuel is on to the loose ball, and Dominic Samuel passes the ball square to Jordan Graham, and Jordan Graham passes the ball out-wide to Ryan Jackson, And Ryan Jackson whips in a high and hanging cross towards Dominic Samuel, But Marlon Fossey headers the ball clear, and Declan Drysdale looked likely he was going to shoot, But Declan Drysdale manages to pick out Tom O’Connor with a pass down the left side of the pitch In Shrewsbury Town’s Final Third, And Tom O’Connor takes a touch to control the ball before firing a low cross across the face of goal and Vadaine Oliver’s shot towards goal is blocked by Aaron Pierre and the follow up effort from Dominic Samuel was heading towards the top corner but Dominic Samuel’s shot towards goal is cleared off the line accidentally by Vadaine Oliver - AND THAT WAS THE CHANCE FOR GILLINGHAM TO EQUALISE!!!!! - And you just wonder if this is going to be one of those days where Gillingham could play until mid-night and not stick the ball into the back of the net ???
Fifty Five Minutes Into The Match, And Aaron Pierre is penalised and booked for his challenge on Jordan Graham, And Gillingham have been awarded a free kick in Shrewsbury Town’s Half Of The Pitch, And From The Resulting Free Kick, Jordan Graham’s in-swinging cross towards Connor Ogilvie is headed up into the air by Ethan Ebanks-Landell and Josh Daniels wins the second aerial challenge to header the ball down the line, and Josh Eccles clipped pass down the line is more of a clearance to knock the ball out of play for A Shrewsbury Town Goal-Kick, rather then Josh Eccles attempt to do anything risky to enable Shrewsbury Town to hit Gillingham on the counter attack.
Vadaine Oliver is then penalised for a foul in The Fifty Sixth Minute, and the next passage of play see’s Dominic Samuel penalised for his challenge on Aaron Pierre - and I have to say that free kick decision is very soft and Aaron Pierre has gone down to the deck very easily - and from the resulting free kick, Scott Golbourne tries to pick out Leon Clarke with a long ball down the line, And Jack Tucker has come across and managed to shield the ball out of play for A Gillingham Goal-Kick.
Declan Drysdale is penalised for his challenge on Ollie Norburn, And Ryan Barnett is penalised for his challenge on Ryan Jackson, and from the resulting free kick, Jack Tucker kicks the ball long down-field and Connor Ogilvie wins the initial aerial challenge and Ethan Ebanks-Landell wins the fifty / fifty challenge with Vadaine Oliver, And Marlon Fossey passes the ball inside square to Brad Walker, who passes the ball back to Ethan Ebanks-Landell, who kicks the ball long down-field and  out of play for a throw in, and from the resulting throw on, Connor Ogilvie throws the ball long down the line and Vadaine Oliver does win the initial aerial challenge and Jordan Graham manages to retain possession of the ball and run away from goal before managing to pick out Ryan Jackson with a fantastic floated pass down the right side of the pitch in Shrewsbury Town’s Final Third, And Ryan Jackson gets the ball under control before passing the ball back to Jordan Graham, who is twisting and turning and Jordan Graham passes the ball back to Jack Tucker, who kicks the ball long down-field and Vadaine Oliver’s header towards Dominic Samuel is blocked by Ethan Ebanks-Landell, and Vadaine Oliver is on to the loose ball, And Vadaine Oliver passes the ball square to Jordan Graham, And Jordan Graham passes the ball out-wide to Ryan Jackson, And Ryan Jackson looks to take on Ryan Barnett, who times his challenge to perfection at the expense of conceding a throw on, and from the resulting throw on, Ryan Jackson’s throw wasn’t really the best long throw in the world, But Brad Walker slices the ball out of play for A Gillingham Corner Kick, And Gillingham have a opportunity to equalise here, And from the resulting corner kick, Tom O’Connor’s dangerous in-swinging cross is headed clear by Leon Clarke and Josh Daniels just thumps the ball long down-field and Shrewsbury Town manage to clear there defensive lines.
Declan Drysdale and Tom O’Connor have both been penalised for fouls in quick succession - And I have to say that the foul given against Tom O’Connor is very soft indeed - But we are Sixty Three Minutes Into This Match Now, And I do wonder if Gillingham are thinking about making another substitution, Trae Coyle and John Akinde are both on the bench, and one of those two are bound to come on if Gillingham are to pull this match back on to level terms at the very least, And from the resulting free kick, Ethan Ebanks-Landell has just smashed the ball diagonally out for A Gillingham Throw On - Playing for yards and territory would be how I would describe that free kick - and from the resulting throw on, Ryan Jackson throws the ball long down the line and Dominic Samuel flicks the ball on and Aaron Pierre headers the ball forwards to Leon Clarke, who plays a one touch layoff towards Ryan Barnett, But Declan Drysdale passes the ball back to Jack Tucker, who passes the ball back to Jack Bonham, And Jack Bonham passes the ball forwards to Connor Ogilvie, And Connor Ogilvie kicks the ball diagonally cross-field, But Scott Golbourne gets the ball under control, runs forwards in possession of the ball and passes the ball inside centrally to Ollie Norburn, And Ollie Norburn manages to pick out Right Back Marlon Fossey with a cross-field pass, And Marlon Fossey runs forwards in possession of the ball before passing the ball forwards to Josh Daniels, And Josh Daniels passes the ball down the line towards Josh Vela, And Josh Vela  passes the ball back to Marlon Fossey, who takes a touch to control the ball and whip in a dangerous low cross which takes a slight deflection and Zech Medley clears the ball away from goal with a important clearance.
Sixty Five Minutes Into The Match, And Ethan Ebanks-Landell has fouled Vadaine Oliver on the halfway line and Gillingham have been awarded a free kick, and from the resulting free kick, Zech Medley’s diagonal cross-field cross is headed clear by Aaron Pierre and Ryan Barnett just smashes the ball long down-field towards Jack Bonham, And Jack Bonham rolls the ball short to Zech Medley, And Zech Medley runs forwards in possession of the ball before kicking the ball long down-field towards Vadaine Oliver, And Aaron Pierre headers the ball clear and away from danger, and Declan Drysdale manages to pass the ball down the line towards Ryan Jackson, And Ryan Jackson passes the ball down the line towards Jordan Graham, And Jordan Graham’s cross just weakly goes out of play for A Shrewsbury Town Goal-Kick, and that was a poor cross from Jordan Graham.
Sixty Seven Minutes Into The Match, Marlon Fossey was played through down the right side of the pitch in Gillingham’s Final Third, And Marlon Fossey’s low cross into Gillingham’s Penalty Area is blocked and then cleared by Josh Eccles, and In The Sixty Eighth Minute Of The Match, Vadaine Oliver manages to get goal-side of Aaron Pierre, And Aaron Pierre and Vadaine Oliver are both competing for the ball down by the byline inside Shrewsbury Town’s Penalty Area and the ball goes out of play for A Shrewsbury Town Goal-Kick - Any penalty decision in Gillingham’s Favour from that passage of play would be considered very fortuitous to say the least.
Seventy Minutes Into The Match, And Gillingham create a half decent goal-scoring opportunity, Declan Drysdale times his interception to perfection and Vadaine Oliver has possession of the ball, and Vadaine Oliver passes the ball forwards to Josh Eccles, And Josh Eccles passes the ball square to Tom O’Connor, And Tom O’Connor passes the ball square to Josh Eccles, who takes one touch to control the ball and another touch to fire a speculative effort towards goal which flashes wide of the far left post - And Shrewsbury Town Goalkeeper Harry Burgoyne was not required to make a save - And In The Seventy First Minute Of The Match, Declan Drysdale kicks a long cross down-field towards Dominic Samuel and Vadaine Oliver, and Harry Burgoyne makes a very comfortable save in goal for Shrewsbury Town.
Seventy Two Minutes Into The Match, And Declan Drysdale catches Aaron Pierre very late with a reckless challenge AND Declan Drysdale is in huge trouble here and Declan Drysdale has fortunately been booked by Referee James Adcock, And had Gillingham gone down to ten men then our chances of getting anything out of this match would be looking very very slim to say the least, Seventy Four Minutes Into The Match, And Jack Tucker makes a very important headed clearance from A Josh Daniels cross and Jordan Graham passes the ball back to Ryan Jackson, who kicks the ball long down-field and Vadaine Oliver cannot keep the ball in play unfortunately, But the next passage of play see’s Ollie Norburn penalised for his challenge on Dominic Samuel, And Gillingham have been awarded a free kick, And Ollie Norburn has been booked for his challenge on Dominic Samuel, and from the resulting free kick, Jack Tucker’s long ball forwards to Zech Medley is headed partially clear by Brad Walker and Josh Daniels and Leon Clarke between the two of them clear Shrewsbury Town’s Defensive Lines and Jack Bonham comes way out of his penalty area to get the ball, and Jack Bonham kicks the ball long down-field and Dominic Samuel is penalised for his challenge on Aaron Pierre, And Shrewsbury Town have been awarded a defensive free kick.
Seventy Six Minutes Into The Match, And Gillingham make there second substitution of the game so far, And Trae Coyle comes on to replace Tom O’Connor, Tom O’Connor is perhaps not quite up to 100% match sharpness to play the full ninety minutes, And Trae Coyle will give Gillingham something different down the left side of the pitch in Shrewsbury Town’s Final Third, Trae Coyle’s first involvement see’s Coyle almost pick out Dominic Samuel with a pass and Shrewsbury Town now have have possession of the ball - Something For Gillingham to build on though in the closing stages of this match.
Seventy Eight Minutes Into The Match, And Harry Burgoyne smashes the ball out of play for A Gillingham Throw On, And From The Resulting Throw, Ryan Jackson throws the ball short to Jack Tucker, And Jack Tucker takes a touch to control the ball before kicking in a high and hanging ball inside Shrewsbury Town’s Penalty Area and Harry Burgoyne makes a very comfortable save in goal for Shrewsbury Town, And In The Seventy Ninth Minute Of The Match, Gillingham create a much better goal-scoring opportunity, Declan Drysdale manages to intercept a threaded through-ball and Declan Drysdale’s interception goes towards Josh Eccles, And Josh Eccles turns past Josh Vela and tries to pick out Dominic Samuel with a threaded through-ball, And Josh Eccles pass through to Dominic Samuel is just over-hit and the ball runs through to Harry Burgoyne In The Shrewsbury Town Penalty Area - Josh Eccles has been one of Gillingham’s Better Players throughout this match so far, and he would be a serious contender for The Man Of The Match Award at full time.
Eighty Minutes Into The Match, And Shrewsbury Town make there second substitution of the game as Scott High replaces Ryan Barnett, Scott High probably gives Shrewsbury Town some defensive stability as the hosts look to see out the rest of this match with a slender 1-0 lead, and when play resumes, Ryan Jackson and Jack Tucker involved in two separate incidents have to kick the ball clear and out of play for A Shrewsbury Town Throw On, Eighty Three Minutes Into The Match, And Brad Walker is penalised for his challenge on Dominic Samuel, And Gillingham have been awarded a free kick in there own half, unfortunately, from the resulting free kick, as the attack breaks down, Dominic Samuel is penalised for his challenge on Josh Vela, And Shrewsbury Town have been awarded a free kick, and from the resulting free kick, Ethan Ebanks-Landell kicks the ball long down-field diagonally and Scott High’s Header Towards Goal was saved by Jack Bonham In The Gillingham Goal.
And from here, Jack Bonham rolls the ball short to Zech Medley, who takes a few touches in possession of the ball before kicking the ball long down-field and Vadaine Oliver wins the aerial challenge to header the ball down towards Dominic Samuel, And Dominic Samuel beats Ethan Ebanks-Landell to the fifty / fifty, But Dominic Samuel’s Cross hits the side netting at the near post from a acute angle, And that was Dominic Samuel’s last involvement in the match, Because John Akinde comes on to replace Dominic Samuel in a like for like substitution, I am not sure if replacing one striker for another was the way to go, But John Akinde and Vadaine Oliver up-front suggests that Gillingham are going to knock the ball long down-field, and don’t expect to see many passes from The Gills in the latter stages of the match, it is very much the case of get the ball forwards as quickly as possible.
Eighty Seven Minutes Into The Match, And Ethan Ebanks-Landell goes down to the deck competing for the ball in the air with Vadaine Oliver, and there is a stoppage in play whilst Ethan Ebanks-Landell requires treatment, And Ethan Ebanks-Landell has been down injured for three minutes for the home side and The Fourth Official puts the board up for SEVEN ADDITIONAL MINUTES OF ADDED TIME!!! - But Ethan Ebanks-Landell was still requiring treatment, So should The Fourth Official waited before putting the board up ??? Because seven minutes is easily going to be ten additional minutes of added time, Because Ethan Ebanks-Landell was down injured for a lengthy period of time.
And when play resumes, Jack Tucker headers Harry Burgoyne’s long kick down-field out of play for A Shrewsbury Town Throw On, But In The Ninety Third Minute Of The Match, Zech Medley almost picks out Trae Coyle with a long kick down-field and Marlon Fossey misses the header but Scott High smashes the ball clear and out of play for A Gillingham Throw On, And From The Resulting Throw, Gillingham score a stoppage time equaliser, and Connor Ogilvie hurls in a long dangerous throw, And John Akinde flicks the ball on and Zech Medley see’s his initial shot towards goal blocked and JORDAN GRAHAM SMASHES IN THE EQUALISER FOR 1-1!!!!!!! - Queue the loud celebrations from myself at home, and whilst it is not the same as celebrating a stoppage time equaliser inside a football stadium, Gillingham have somehow salvaged a point from this match, great goal from Jordan Graham, who has scored a stoppage time equaliser for Gillingham again this season - having scored the stoppage time equaliser against Coventry City In The Second Round Of The League Cup - Great Goal From Jordan Graham, and well done John Akinde and Zech Medley in the build up to that goal as well.
Ninety Five Minutes Into The Match, And Vadaine Oliver is penalised for his challenge on Scott Golbourne, and when play resumes, Harry Burgoyne kicks the ball long down-field and Josh Vela is penalised for jumping into the back of Josh Eccles, And Gillingham have been awarded a defensive free kick, But there was still time for Shrewsbury Town to score as we are into the eighth minute of stoppage time, Marlin Fossey runs forwards in possession of the ball, And Marlon Fossey manages to pass the ball forwards to Scott High, And Trae Coyle missed the ball with his sliding interception, and here is Scott High in possession of the ball, And Scott High whips in a high and hanging cross and Jack Bonham calls for Zech Medley to leave it and Jack Bonham catches that cross from Scott High, And Gillingham can breath a massive sigh of relief.
And the final noteworthy moment of the match see’s Zech Medley kick the ball long down-field, and Marlon Fossey is on to the loose ball, And Marlon Fossey kicks the ball long down-field and Referee James Adcock blows his whistle for full time after nine minutes of stoppage time, And I will gladly take a point, especially with Jordan Graham scoring Gillingham’s Equaliser In The 94th Minute Of The Match, And I will admit that I celebrated that equaliser from Jordan Graham very loudly, great goal, great point from a losing position, And well done Gills.
FULL TIME: SHREWSBURY TOWN 1-1 GILLINGHAM
I have to say that I am elated with The 1-1 draw against Shrewsbury Town, when your losing 1-0 in stoppage time then you will gladly accept a point from a losing position, I know I mentioned pre-match that I think Gillingham can do with a win against Shrewsbury Town, Because Gillingham have got a very tough fixture list coming up for the rest of October, and those fixtures are as follows,,,,,, Ipswich Town Away, (Football League Trophy), Oxford United Home, MK Dons Away, Portsmouth Home, Fleetwood Town Home, Ipswich Town Away and Sunderland Home, And I still have the opinion that Gillingham really could have done with all three points against Shrewsbury Town, But when your not at your best, and your losing the match going into stoppage time, It is important to try and get something out of the match, and thanks to Jordan Graham’s Goal, Gillingham have salvaged a point.
I posted the following stats update on Facebook And Twitter After The Game,,,,,,,, FT: SHREWSBURY TOWN 1-1 GILLINGHAM - Jordan Graham's stoppage time equaliser earns Gillingham a point away from home against Shrewsbury Town, And given how late Jordan Graham has scored for Gillingham, And I have to say that is a point gained for The Gills. And had Vadaine Oliver not blocked Dominic Samuel's shot towards goal, we could have been talking about Jordan Graham scoring a late winner for The Gills, mind you, it has to be mentioned that Josh Eccles goal-line clearance kept Gillingham in the match at 1-0 down. With the matches that Gillingham have got coming up in October, ideally, we would have liked to see Gills go into the next seven matches off the back of a win against Shrewsbury Today, But a point gained from a losing position late on in the match is something Gills can build on.
And what is it with Gillingham scoring late goals against Shrewsbury Town, There was Mark Byrne's screamer when we drew 1-1 and Shrewsbury Town were going for promotion. Tom Eaves scored late on for 2-2. Max Ehmer's scored the winning goal when Gillingham were 2-0 down and won 3-2, and Jordan Graham's goal today. But the biggest and best late goal, has to be Simeon Jackson's winning goal at Wembley Stadium In The League Two Playoff Final In The 2008 / 2009 Season - Thanks For That Goal Simeon Jackson.
That goal from Jordan Graham moves Gillingham up to sixth in The League One Table and Gillingham have picked up seven points out of a possible twelve from the four league games played so far this season, Now If Gillingham can stay in the top six after ten league games then that truly would be remarkable because it is very early days in The League One Season at this moment in time, I was also re-tweeting a few Gillingham updates from BBC Radio Kent that appeared online after the full time whistle, and it really was a fantastic finish from Jordan Graham, and another important goal from a player who really is showing his capabilities for Gillingham Football Club This Season, Because Jordan Graham has scored four goals for Gillingham already this season.
Josh Eccles, Jordan Graham, Declan Drysdale and Vadaine Oliver, had posted status updates on to Twitter, And looking at results from elsewhere, Chatham Town won 3-0 against Folkestone Invicta and Sheppey United won 2-0 against Welling United to cause cup upsets in The FA Cup, And I asked Simon the following question, What is Chatham Town's best cup run in The FA Cup ??? - Have Chatham Town reached The First or Second Round Of The FA Cup in there entire history ???
I then re-tweeted post match status updates from Gillingham’s Official Twitter Account and Post Match Press Conference Comments From Jordan Graham and Steve Evans, And Steve Evans spoke about the energy, enthusiasm and work ethic in This Gillingham Team and how Gillingham kept going and we deserved the equaliser, and Jordan Graham spoke about how Gillingham needed to improve in the second half, I then mentioned to Gary and Rob that Tom O’Connor was wearing Squad Number 21 for The Gills.
I had correctly predicted Gillingham to draw against Shrewsbury Town In The Gillingham NoirCat Prediction League, And I mentioned to Gary that it felt like Gillingham had drawn there last ten away league games against Shrewsbury Town, And there have been plenty of late goals scored by Gillingham against Shrewsbury Town, Like Mark Byrne’s screamer to level the game up at 1-1, A Match which Blackburn Rovers put on to there YouTube Account, Because Shrewsbury Town were challenging for promotion that season - I think the one negative has to be no Gillingham Supporters in the away end to celebrate that equaliser from Jordan Graham, I know I celebrated Jordan Graham’s Goal, But it just is not the same as celebrating that goal inside a football stadium.
Shrewsbury Town V Gillingham was very much a long ball game, the wet and windy conditions and the way the match was being played was not conducive to a free flowing pass and move style of play, of football Because Ethan Ebanks-Landell and Aaron Pierre are both defenders defenders, Because Vadaine Oliver struggled to win the aerial battle up against those two in Shrewsbury Town’s Defence, I also think that Gillingham should have defended the opening goal a lot better then we did, Because Brad Walker’s header was more of a accurate header then a powerful header, yes, It was a foul on Connor Ogilvie in the build up to the corner, and I cannot believe that no free kick was awarded in Gillingham’s Favour, But we have got to defend the corner kick for the opening goal, and also, Gillingham almost conceded a second corner in the second half, and had it not been for Josh Eccles goal-line clearance, then Shrewsbury Town would have gone 2-0 up, and had Shrewsbury Town gone 2-0 up, they would have won the game in my opinion.
I then asked the following question on Facebook,,,,, For anyone who was watching today's game on I Follow, listening to Shrewsbury Town V Gillingham on the radio, or, following the game via Gillingham's Official Twitter Account. Just how loudly did you cheer Jordan Graham's late equaliser for Gillingham against Shrewsbury Town This Afternoon ??? - And there were a lot of responses, It’s a great moment celebrating a last gasp equaliser, especially when Gillingham have not been at there best, and I will take a 1-1 draw away from home when Gillingham have performed disappointedly.
It also has to be noted that Shrewsbury Town adapted to the wet and windy conditions a lot better then Gillingham did, And Sam Ricketts appears to have gone for a combative and difficult to beat style of play, Perhaps I am doing Shrewsbury Town a dis-service here and it could well be the case that Shrewsbury Town want to get the ball down and play, but the wet and windy conditions made that style of play impossible to play for either side, Shrewsbury Town have drawn three and lost one of the four league games they have played so far this season, scoring three and conceding four, which suggests that Shrewsbury Town are going to be difficult to beat, but they may well lack the firepower to challenge for a top ten finish in League One This Season.
There have been many season’s where Gillingham have had to look over there shoulder at The League One Relegation Zone, none more so then The 2016 / 2017 Season, when Gillingham avoided relegation on goal difference and we had to wait six minutes after the full time whistle away at Northampton Town before Gillingham’s League One Status was confirmed, Last Season, Gillingham Finished Tenth In League One, and it made a change to look up the table rather then looking over our shoulder, hopefully, The 2020 / 2021 Season is another season where Gillingham are looking up the table rather then looking at another season where The Gills are looking to retain there League One Status.
Hopefully, Gillingham can get back to winning ways against Ipswich Town On Tuesday Night In The Football League Trophy, Because if Gillingham were to win there second group game, then we would almost qualify for the knock-out stages of The Football League Trophy, and then there is the big game against Oxford United On Saturday, which is going to be very difficult - Hopefully, we are celebrating two wins from two matches over the next week in two different competitions - COME ON THE GILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Man Utd, Man City cruise into FA Cup fifth round - football
Tumblr media
Manchester United put a torrid week behind them by thrashing third-tier Tranmere 6-0 as holders Manchester City also cruised into the FA Cup fifth round with a 4-0 win over Fulham on Sunday.United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was badly in need of a convincing performance after 2-0 defeats to Liverpool and Burnley in the Premier League over the past seven days. Many tipped the Red Devils to get bogged down on a sandy surface at Prenton Park, but a flying start thanks to a host of unlikely goalscorers ensured there was no chance of an upset.Captain Harry Maguire led by example by striding forward to smash home his first goal for the club since an £80 million ($105 million) move from Leicester.Diogo Dalot then also grabbed his first United goal before Jesse Lingard curled home for just a second time in a year for club and country inside 16 minutes.Phil Jones then nodded home his first United effort since 2014 and Anthony Martial’s deflected strike made it five before the break.Solskjaer could then afford the luxury of resting Martial, Maguire and Nemanja Matic for most of the second half ahead of Wednesday’s attempt to overturn a 3-1 first leg deficit against City in the League Cup semi-finals.Tahith Chong was one of those introduced and he was brought down by Tranmere goalkeeper Scott Davies, allowing Mason Greenwood to score United’s sixth from the penalty spot.Empty stands annoy GuardiolaCity manager Pep Guardiola hopes more fans show up at the Etihad Stadium for the derby in midweek after questioning why there were 15,000 empty seats for his side’s stroll past Fulham.Nearly 40,000 were in attendance to see Tim Ream’s sixth-minute red card give the Championship side a mountain to climb after he hauled down Gabriel Jesus inside the box.Ilkay Gundogan converted the resulting penalty before Bernardo Silva’s smart turn and shot quickly doubled City’s advantage. The visitors then held out for nearly an hour but two headers in three minutes from Jesus gave the scoreline a more accurate reflection of the English champions’ dominance.“Hopefully more people can come than today, hopefully (they) can support us more,” said Guardiola.“I don’t know the reason why, but it was not full.”Guardiola’s men have now won 17 domestic cup ties in a row.The Catalan is relying on more cup success for silverware this season after conceding the Premier League title is beyond his side with Liverpool 16 points clear at the top of the table.“Liverpool are just fantastic, phenomenal, overwhelming. So we have to accept it and learn from that,” Guardiola said on the eve of the game.Jurgen Klopp showed Liverpool’s focus is very much on the title as he made 11 changes to the side that won at Wolves on Thursday for the trip to League One Shrewsbury Town later on Sunday.  The score gap was two goals, but the performance gap was more than that. Manchester City beat Manchester United.
Manchester City defeated Manchester United 2-0 in Round 11 of the 2021-2022 English Premier League (EPL) at Old Trafford, Manchester, England on the 6th (Korean time).
Home team Manchester United have chosen Mason Greenwood as their two-top partner for Cristiano Ronaldo. Luke Shaw and Aaron Wansaka were placed as wing-backs to the left and right of midfielders Bruno Fernandez, Fred and Scott McTominay. The three-backs were Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Eric Baie and goalkeeper David De Gea.
Manchester City placed Bernardo Silva as the fake number 9, and Phil Foden and Gabriel Jejus on the left and right. Midfielders Ilkai Gundogan, Rodri, and Kevin De Bruyne served as midfielders. The backs were Joao Cancelou, Hubeng Dias, John Stones and Kyle Walker, with goalkeeper Ederson.
Bay's own goal in the 7th minute gave Manchester City the lead. Cutting off Cancelo's low, fast left-footed cross turned out to be an exquisite sliding shot.
While Manchester City took the lead, Manu occasionally sought a scoring opportunity with a counterattack. In the 26th minute of the first half, after receiving an accurate cross from Shaw, Ronaldo volleyed with his left foot. Ederson struck.
Three minutes later, De Gea made an even bigger save. Foden gave up a pass after a perfect penetration to the left, and De Gea fell while trying to block De Bruyne's nonstop shot. Jejus tried to finish with a strong shot by grabbing the ball that came out, but De Gea jumped up and made a save again. After the corner kick that followed, De Gea hit Cancelo's mid-range shot.
In the 33rd minute of the first half, Foden almost scored an own goal from a ground cross, but even the ball hit by a fellow defender's foot was struck by De Gea. One minute later, De Gea noticed De Bruyne's surprise toe shot and blocked it.
However, an additional goal was scored in the 45th minute in a situation that De Gea did not expect at all. Kansello's right-footed cross appeared to deviate towards the far post, when Silva, who popped out from behind the show, flew himself and patted his foot. De Gea could not block the ball that flew right in front of him, but conceded a run.
At the end of the first half, United removed Bi and switched to 4 back with winger Jadon Sancho.
Manchester City dominated the game unilaterally in the second half. After switching to the four-back, Manchester United were less unilaterally pushed from midfield, but they did not counterattack properly. Man Utd replaced Greenwood with Rashford in the 22nd minute of the second half. In the 28th minute of the second half, Alex Telles was replaced by the injured Shaw.
At the end of the second half, Manchester United's defense became looser, and the attack on Man City became more intense. In the 31st minute of the second half, Gundogan picked up the refracted ball and put it back into the door. De Bruyne's closing shot missed and was disqualified.
In the 35th minute of the second half, United replaced Fred with more aggressive MF Donnie Panderweek. But the flow was still there. In the 36th minute of the second half, Foden's shot hit the post while Man City was in a rush. In the 41st minute of the second half, Stones' left-footed turning shot went slightly off the beaten track from a corner kick.
Manchester City kept the win by completely controlling the flow of the game until the end without any major changes. Just before the end, Ronaldo aimed for a header, but the defense kept it in check.
