okay so this is the big gadge passage but like… I have a question. when haymitch teases katniss, she assumes he’s implying that there’s something going on between madge and gale, but we know katniss is the definition of an unreliable narrator. you know who ELSE delivers the strawberries to madge (and who madge has way better chemistry with)? KATNISS. isn’t it just as reasonable to say that haymitch could be implying something about madge’s feelings towards katniss? (yes ik peeta says ‘I didn’t know madge knew gale’ before this but… I’m just saying...)

like… is it really that big of a stretch? they notably “don’t talk about boys or other girls,” madge gives katniss a priceless family heirloom that carries a lot of emotional weight knowing full well she may never get it back, kisses katniss on the cheek before she leaves for the games, and then brings her mother’s expensive medicine to help katniss’s friend. she doesn’t call gale by his name, even though we know she knows it. she calls him katniss’s friend. I really don’t think it’s about gale specifically, I think madge would’ve brought the morphling regardless of if it was peeta, haymitch, or whoever else that’d been whipped, so long as they mattered to katniss.

one day I will write a long post about madniss, aka (one of) baby’s first hunger games ship(s). one day…

i like gale x johanna! i don’t see myself reading a fic for them but i don’t mind them being a side couple. generally, though, i prefer gadge. i think the dynamic is cute, so if gale needs a girlfriend i usually go with madge.

there's also some " madge + the hawthornes " headcanons cause i couldn't control myself. i have a lot of those too. this is kind of a mix of modern!gadge headcanons and cannon headcanons but oh well

madge claims she's a night owl, but she's always the first to sleep between the two of them ( and, most times, gale carries her to bed )

they challenge and tease each other basically 24/7, even in the most stupid things

she always steals his clothes!!

he used to mock her about being a weak drinker... untill they DID go out for a drink and she proved him wrong

she sleeps at the hawthornes weekly

and im pretty sure that's basically fanon at this point, but madge and posy are inseparable. they ADORE eachother

they use their " gale's favorite girls in the world " privilege to drag him to the couch and make him watch disney movies with them

they have a swear jar, but instead of money, they put candies in it. once it's full, they give all the candy to gale's siblings.

he call tell when she gets uncomfortable the easiest, and always tries to make jokes to cheer her up

he's the most romantic out of the two, though

madge always talks with him about her current reads

he pretends to be annoyed, but secretly loves it

she always plays songs for him too. madge sitting in front of her piano is one of his favorite views ever

" princess " + " soldier hawthorne " = their top one teasing nicknames, fight me.

picnics in the woods are frequent

coffee dates too

they put a lot of value into the other's opinion on important stuff

no matter how tired gale is, if he senses she's stressed out when he gets home he'll 200% melt chocolate, cut some strawberries and basically shove it down her throat till she's alright, or at least open to talking

she's always amazed by how caring he is with the ones he loves

they ABSOLUTELY have had at least one dinner in the dark with candle lights where madge thought it was because the power went off but gale did it on purpose to try being romantic

Soooo. I've been thinking about posting either new chapters of Play That Song or I can start a new fic. I have two ideas for new fics but I need votes on what to do first.

(1) I can do another chapter of Play That Song based off of a Weezer song (I will not reveal which one because this WIP is a smutty joke) Pairing - Gadge + Johanna.

(2) Or I can post a different chapter of Play That Song based off 18 by Anarbor. (Will have slight age gap 18 x 20 + smut) Pairing - either Everlark or Odesta.

(3) Post a new fic with a dark! Peeta x Katniss ((if this is voted for I'll reveal what the au is..😅 just trust me))

(4) Again a new fic but with a werewolf! Peeta x Katniss. ((Same rules as 3, both aus are things I've been thinking about doing for a while. & I've been dying to do a werewolf fic.))

What about just Gale/Madge/Katniss? No love triangle required if they're all together! Because actually...I'm on board with that. Madge and Katniss are good friends, and throwing in the added mix of Gale, would make for something very intriguing. Gale loves Katniss, Madge loves Gale, Katniss has feelings for Gale and potentially Madge, and Madge might also have a teeny crush on Katniss? And Gale really doesn't care about the mayor's daughter, but Katniss spends so much time with her, and oh, okay, she's actually great?? Plus if one sees Madge as a secret revolutionary, it's something she and Gale share, and that might help Katniss gain a lot more confidence in terms of fighting back. Really, there's so much to explore in that. (and in all of it, really) There is something really appealing to me about Katniss being together with people she feels comfortable with, and Gale and Madge certainly qualify. The more I think about it the more I like it.
