I had the weirdest dream about Tolkien's universe, including but not limited to: two Fëanorions fleeting a Bad Guy, one of them was trans and pregnant. He had his child in the forrest and continued fleeting with the baby, who was the cutest elfling ever. Cool looking, flowy cloaks, Legolas doing parkour, my grandparents extensive collection of ancient Greek litterature books, a badass, morally grey, Half-Elven self-insert character (with a cool flowy cloak) and Radagast dressing as Gandalf to play pranks on people and serving them moldy bread with mushrooms jam.

In the midst of this complete chaos, Galardiel's character arc and plotline were still a hundred times more coherent than what was inflicted to her in Rings of Power, including the part where she ran after me because I stole the keys of her hotel room. And the one where she tried to heal fishermens who got the plague.

Watching that new “Wednesday” show I keep getting thoughts of how I feel Halbrand/Sauron would be so much like Gomez to both Galadriel and their daughter like how Gomez is with Morticia and Wednesday. LOL :) I can just see him being so proud of his “little storm cloud” as Gomez actually calls Wednesday and keeping track of all her accomplishments but it’s really dark and creepy stuff. LOL Also teaching her to fence when she was 6 (plus her parents fencing for fun). Then Galardiel being just like Morticia as the Dark Queen and Halbrand/Sauron worshiping her and them making out randomly all the time. There was even a scene in a jail cell with the two of them making out between the bars and Wednesday getting annoyed how they always are like this. LOL Plus with mother and daughter having visions and being more alike then they realized. I grew up loving “The Addams Family” and I can see this easily fitting the Haladriel ship and their daughter (or kids if they have more like how Pugsley is here) and even how it’s fitting somewhat with my fic of how I’d image their daughter to be.

Thinking about the ask i just got...Instead of coming to me and asking how said character is racist or written into a racist trope despite me literally writing metas regarding them, why not start asking what ways that you, as a fan can start combating racism within the character.

What ways that you as a fan can start implementing non-racist elements into your fan works, or how you can start to gradually criticize racism written within Tolkien’s works, and ingrained in the fandom.

For the most part, we’ve gone past the point of establishing who and who isn’t racist, and as a fandom we need to start combating that racism now that we’ve found it.

But the fandom won’t progress if you guys aren’t willing to acknowledge racism, even if it’s in your favorite characters. If you keep on denying it, the entire fandom is just going to roll back on itself as it already has.
